I used to go here for all my skin care needs. I eventually fell away after I found multiple providers and aestheticians that provided better quality and value. I remained on their email list however. I am astounded at the inflammatory rhetoric and wording with underlying misogynistic tones they use and send out in their promotions. I will be avoiding moving forward.

Dr. Larsen injected me with a permanent undereye filler. I immediately developed orange pads, lumps, and wrinkles under my eyes. When I went back for correction Dr. Larsen gave me botox that didn't help. When I asked if there were a way to correct the orange pad and lumps, he yelled that "I gave you free product and I have a horrible migraine and can't see." Now, after trying to warn other women about my experience and to prevent them from having their faces ruined, I receive this letter from his manager, Denise Voisin: "The under-eye filler is the most difficult place to do filler and some (doctors) are not willing to take the risk of bumps, swelling, and irregularities to skin." If there were risks, why didn't he tell me before? I would never have gotten injects with a high-risk factor. Who would? His manager Denise Voisin also said (direct quotes.) "We are willing to offer you a refund of $800. Please remove your posts on social media and other platforms." In addition, and, here I quote from the Department of Justice, U.S. Attorney's Office District of Utah. "Two Utah Cases Included In Significant National Health Care Fraud Enforcement Action" (https://www.justice.gov/usao-ut/pr/two-utah-cases-included-significant-national-health-care-fraud-enforcement-action) "The U.S. Department of Justice announced a national health care fraud enforcement action Thursday morning. Federal prosecutors in Salt Lake City filed a one-count misdemeanor information Tuesday charging Living for Life MD, LLC, doing business as SLC Med Spa, with receipt and delivery of adulterated devices. The Information alleges the Salt Lake City business imported non-FDA approved drugs manufactured overseas from an unauthorized distributor and administered them to patients. The foreign-sourced devices, specifically products labeled as Juvederm Ultra 2 were adulterated and lacked pre-market approval required under federal law. The Information includes a notice of intent to seek a forfeiture money judgment of $250,000 representing the value of the misbranded devices. A summons will be issued to the company to appear in federal court on the charges. Special agents with the FDA Office of Criminal Investigations are investigating the case.... Said FBI Deputy Director Bowdich. "Through investigations across the country, we have seen medical professionals putting greed above their patients' well-being." I want to add DR LARSEN's reply. Someone slightly edited it, but I want to share his insane rave in its entirety. : So this is Dr Larsen. I did not correct the spelling. ok lets look at your lies. They have already been to court. Those lies..... you get to pay for every one!!!!!!! It's deformation of character and slander I will not stop until you are in jail or you and yelp pay what you have cost me!!!!! I'm done !!!!!!!!! I'm not fighting these lies for another second of my life. I'm fighting you and your lies too the end. So already in court .................... S0 lets look at your lies!!!!!!!!!!! your first lies. I have not seen you in almost 4 years. 4 years!!!! yellow patches under your eye. I'm assuming its xanthoma palpebra but who knows I have not seen you since 2017!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Since 2017!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Xanthoma palpebra does happen a lot but it does happen mostly women and it happens in general public 1.5 % of the time. I've seen 20,000 people 0ver the past 11 years and I onlywe are going after tis person and yelp!!!!!! and then you got a letter from my manager???? she has worked here few years!!!!! 2017. she has worked here years but not since 2017. sorry. that almost 4 yeARS AGO!!!!!!!! and for warning women. I never advertise for under eye filler!!!!!! have you ever seen me advertise for under eye filler ?????? once have you seen me advertise for under eye filler ?????? have you once. not one time have I ever advertised ever and yet it is the procedure I do more than any proc endure every day!!!!!!!! it is what I'm preferred to more than anything I do 3 a day without any advertisinfg. ill tell you what. ill give you $10,000 if you can name one dr that does 3 under eye fillers a day. You need to warn women. your are a lier. more people come to me than anyone ion the USA then she writes is there any risk??? filler in the eye, the arm, the ankle,. the thigh. it is the humane body. of course there are risk and she signed every paper. you take a Tylenol there is bigger risk than filler under your eye. what is the risk of Tylenol?????? lets try it kills more people than any drug in the world.. do not want the risk then die.

I went to give them one more shot on Botox and unfortunately I had to go back for a touch up. A week after the touch up, all the same spots were at full movement. I won't be going back for even Botox. It was a terrible experience. All of it.

I'm updating my original review of SLC Med Spa because of the unprofessional and defensive response my review received from Dr. Larsen. So sad that he cannot take criticism. A simple explanation without all the condescension would've been fine. And by the way, I only returned for Botox injections, never filler. But after that highly immature response I won't returning for anything. Oh and congratulations on being the number one filler injector.

I just had my first facial at Beauty Lab + Laser and I fear I may never emotionally recover…read more.. because now I know how the other half lives. Yes... THE Beauty Lab + Laser. Co-owned by Heather Gay herself. Ever since I first laid eyes upon that beautifully chaotic fever dream known as The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, I have dreamed of entering this establishment. And reader... dreams DO come true. I got the Good Time Girl Facial and let me tell you... it was, in fact, a GOOD. TIME. Shelby C. was my esthetician, but honestly? I think she may have been an angel temporarily assigned to Earth. Beautiful. Gentle. Ethereal. Like if a woodland fairy got licensed in advanced skincare. There were TWO cleanses. Exfoliation. Moisturizers. Masks. Serums. Warm towels. At one point I think my soul briefly left my body and floated toward the heavens while Enya played faintly in the distance. I have now decided heaven is simply this: You lie on a heated table while angels wash and exfoliate your face for eternity while calling you "queen." I walked in looking like I had been through several economic recessions and a situationship. I walked out looking hydrated, luminous, and emotionally stable. Best $150 I've ever spent. I would trust Shelby with my taxes, my future children, and the nuclear codes. 10/10. If I disappear, please know I now live there permanently in a robe with cucumber slices on my eyes.

Felt rushed and also very impersonal. I was excited to visit with all the hype but was disappointed…read morewith actual appointment. The application left a scar which another facility carefully and cautiously took the time to repair.

I came all the way across country, based on reviews regarding his acne treatment. My acne scars…read morereally weren't even that bad I have some box car and icepick scarring on my cheeks and a few chicken pop mark indentations on my forehead. $7000 wasted - still have the same scarring on my cheeks and, even though my poc marks do look better than before, what once was a relatively smooth forehead, has been left textured and indented with needle marks. Overall, the texture of my skin is worse and I am highly disappointed. As nice as they came across, i cannot recommend Dr. Taylor's practice.

I went to Dr. Huerth in November for a medium depth chemical peel to treat my melasma. As a RN…read moremyself, I have never before experienced so much unprofessionalism for a business and believe my treatment was below the standard of care. Dr. Huerth used glycolic acid and I believe that it went too deep which has caused permanent scarring, hypopigmentation, scar banding, and permanent nerve damage. It was also extremely painful that I felt my face was melting down to the bone and I have a high pain tolerance and have done multiple laser treatments in years past. She did two passes of the acid over my face and I remember she scrubbed far too excessively on both sides of my chin, which resulted in burning down to the dermis. I now have bilateral scarring and nerve damage and was put on 7 different medications thinking that it was possibly an infection. I asked for it to be swabbed because I was concerned it was MRSA. She didn't seem too concerned. Maybe because she knew it wasn't an infection and was a chemical burn. I even asked her if it was. After it was swabbed, the lab results were that it was normal bacterial flora on the face. This also solidifies that it wasn't an infection and was instead improper technique and excessive application of the acid resulting in nerve damage. Infection doesn't occur exactly bilaterally on either side of my mouth. I was scrupulous with my after care as well because of my medical background. I missed important meetings, family events, and now have a tremendous amount of anxiety, sadness, panic attacks, uncontrollable tears, and self confidence and self consciousness issues. I couldn't workout for a month because it was so ugly and scary to look at. The whole idea of the peel was to help my face have less hyperpigmentation so that I can wear less makeup. Now, it is impossible to cover and I have white patches on both sides. I've had multiple people point out that they thought my makeup wasn't blending in properly. To put it lightly, I am devastated and reached out to Dr. Huerth showing her progress pics and I grew increasingly concerned. She messaged me and stated that I wouldn't face any permanent scarring. Well she was wrong. I asked her kindly to reimburse me for the cost of the treatment, the scar serum she suggested I get that was around $250, the 7 meds that did little to help, and the gas of having to go to her office between 4 and 6 times total. I am a single mom to 3 kids. I sold items on FB marketplace to save up enough money to afford this procedure. Not only was it done improperly, she refused to compensate me, stopped answering any messages, wouldn't call me back, and I have asked for my medical records now 2 times without any word back. I'd write more about the specific mixture of acid, but I haven't been able to obtain my medical records. I feel they are purposely ignoring me in hopes that I will get frustrated and forget the whole thing ever happened. The whole thing has been extremely traumatizing and I would stay away from this business and any procedures by any of the doctors here. Several years ago I got a fraxel laser done by Dr. Taylor also for my melasma and before starting I said be careful my eyebrows are tattooed on and when I got home, the tail of my eyebrow was burned off! I called back and asked why none of the assistants said anything or Dr. Taylor and they claimed they weren't aware it happened. As a result, I had to get my eyebrows microbladed again and requested reimbursement for the procedure. They did reimburse me, but you'd think they'd be more careful when many women have permanent makeup. These doctors are subpar and more concerned with money than patient satisfaction. I am traumatized for life by my experience at Gateway Aesthetic Institute. Attached are progress pics of my procedure. The one holding my cheek is current status at 7 months post procedure. Still numb. Been to 3 medical professionals including another derm, a facial plastic surgeon and an oral surgeon and they all agree that the facial scarring and nerve damage is due to the chemical peel and how it was performed.
