After three years of trying different mattresses, my wife and I finally found the right one with Sleep EZ. We'd been searching for something with organic and natural materials--we tried two Avocado mattresses, a Bear Natural, and an Awara (which was disappointing). Nothing felt quite right. After having a horrible experience at a big box store, SleepEZ was such a phenomenal company to deal with that I was in awe for several days. We originally bought a stupidly expensive mattress at GW which ended up being defective - the insides were literally exploding out the sides but it took over 3 months for them to agree it was defective. We were "allowed" to exchange it (even tho we bought the outrageously expensive mattress pad to ensure we qualified for an exchange should we need it) but could only get a new mattress if it was more expensive than the defective one. We ended up having to finance a mattress which turned out to be completely inappropriate for my body weight and sleep position. Six months later I was unable to work and ended up in physical therapy because of my severe pain. It took me 3 more months of trying to come up with a new solution that did not involve financing another mattress and/or going to yet another big chain store. I ended up working only with online retailers and SleepEZ was one of them. Although the product I purchased from them was not right for me personally, THEY took the initiative to reach out to me and do more than I could ever even hope for to resolve my issue. When they called me out of the blue based on a review I wrote, and told me how they were going to help me, I was literally on the phone with my mouth just hanging open. I have NEVER heard of a company taking the initiative to resolve a customer's problem in the way they took care of me. I offered to take down my initial review and they said no, because it provided information other customers may need to know. They didn't ask me to write a new review. They literally asked nothing of me. Updated response to owners review. The problem was that I paid $900 for a three layer latex mattress that was not suitable for my specifications and should have been advised appropriately, so having to return the mattress was not my fault. Then I was not able to order a topper and was punished by Sleep EZ, Latex Mattress Factory, etc. because I had to return the mattress. Please advise customers that three layers of 3in foam for side sleepers with my specifications is not adequate, then you won't have to have the hassle of customers wanting to return mattresses. Sick to my stomach. DO NOT BUY ONLINE! If you can go into the store I highly recommend it! I also do not recommend a 2" foam as I explain why below! We ordered our king size mattress Dec 16, 2018. It arrived December 21st. Super fast! The first night I slept on it my back was in the worst pain ever. So I slept on it two more nights and contacted customer service for suggestions December 24. After paying $2,140 I wanted to keep this mattress if it was the last thing I did! Rodger quickly responded with suggestions of changing the firmness and that the bed was likely too soft. December 27, I responded about changing it and it still not working. Same day Ramon responded and suggested i take my fiancé's firm to try it out a couple of nights. So I did. Since we got 2-3" and 1-2" foam my fiancé was an inch lower than me! If we ever needed to switch them around 5-10 years from now it's not an option because of that inch difference! January 4, I email back saying I'm still having back issues and I definitely want to exchange the 2" for a 3" because my fiancé was sleeping an inch lower than me once I took his layer! He responded again right away asking how long I slept on it because they recommend sleeping on it a week.... January 7 I respond... Rodger also responds more about how long I slept on it January 14 I respond about being at a loss because the pain I have in all different latex orientations. Jeremy the manager responded with another suggestion to try. And informs me that latex may not be for everyone. Feb 7 I ask about exchanging for the second time. Ramon responds Feb 8 informing me there's a $30 exchange fee. So not only did I just buy a mattress and two frames for $2,140 that wasn't enough and it's another $30 to exchange Feb 14 I finally got around to responding inquiring how after spending $2,140 they're going to charge another $30... No response.... I send another email Feb 19 following up on my email. Ramon responded with "If you did need to do a layer exchange, the cost would be $30. We believe this is a fair and MODEST fee that simply helps out with a portion of the shipping. When it comes to how the return process works, we would need to know if you kept the original boxes. If not YOU WOULD WANT TO PURCHASE boxes that the dimensions total 130 square inches or less.  If you used boxes with the total square inches equaling more than 130 square inches there would be oversized CHARGES APPLIED. We shipped your mattress out in 3 boxes, so we would allow you to ship back in 4 boxes. The pillows and protector would be yours to keep. Once you have your mattress boxed up and ready to be sent back, you would call us with the box dimensions so we can email you return shipping labels. We can also schedule a return pick up at $4 a box if you would like. WE DO NOT ACCEPT RETURNS FOR OUR WOOD FOUNDATION AS ITS UNIVERSAL DESIGN CAN BR USED WITH ANY MATTRESS. Love the idea of latex being a natural product and not from China. Layers can be mix to customize the feel and the cover has a very high quality zipper on it to accommodate changes when necessary. We exchanged layers twice. I really need a soft bed and my husband is 6'3" 310lbs so that is why we bought 4 layers. (I think 3 layer mattress would be fine for most people.) These mattresses consist of 3 separate latex sheets which must be fit into a tight mattress cover. Each sheet is very heavy, very difficult to maneuver and will rip very easily. I weigh 155 lbs. Even so, the mattress does not maintain its shape along the edges over time and that requires the 3 pieces to be rearranged fairly often which in turn requires frequent lifting and tugging and the risk of tearing the latex. I will never purchase another. As others have pointed out, it would be almost impossible to return the mattress because once it is removed from the vacuum sealed bags that it is delivered in, it is impossible to but it back into the containers. read more

Have now had the mattress for 10 years and still love it. We bought the 4 layer 2 xl twins/king. We've flipped the layers every couple years (it's a pain, but whatever). We did end up ordering new soft lays last year which basically renewed the feel. This is what makes having a multi-layer mattress great. When the bed was feeling a bit too squishy, just replacing the one layer while they were on sale for Christmas completely renewed the feel. I suppose if you start out with a squishy mattress than this might not work, but we have not regretted this purchase at all. read more

I have a king and made it with the two sides just a little different so depending on how my back feels depends on which side I sleep on. They made good on the pillow with the bad seam. The new mattress measures exactly 76x80. I didn't have an issue with the first mattress because the toppers covered the top almost perfect. My family bought a total of 3 mattresses from this company between 2013-2015. When I purchased my mattress in 2013, I was happy with the customer service. I remember I needed to swap out a layer when it was too firm, and that went easily and smoothly. In fact, there was follow-up from the owner at the time to make sure everything was exactly right. My mom and brother had the same experience back then as well. I returned to this company a couple of weeks ago, hoping to upgrade my two-layer mattress with a third layer (and a new cover) to make it a little softer. After a discussion with a rep, a layer was sent to me to try out (before I ordered the cover) in a 4-way stretch cover that was functionally a topper. It was suggested that if I like that firmness, I can then send in my existing cover to make it larger, if I wanted to, so I was mulling that over in the days before we received the layer. The layer ended up being way too soft, and I wanted to exchange it for something slightly firmer with the intention of then also purchasing a larger organic cotton & wool cover to accommodate the 3 layers, instead of my current 2. I decided I did not want to send my existing cover in for a sizing adjustment and would just buy a new cover. I won't go into how many calls and discussions I had to have with multiple reps about all of this. In effect, I wanted to give them more business and pay about $800 to upgrade my current mattress with one layer and a new, larger cover. Stupid business move on my end, but I had been so happy with the company in 2013, I was fine with the price to do this. After a lot of confusion, I finally got a quote to reflect what I wanted, and we were told to ship the layer I am dissatisfied with back to the company and re-order the firmer layer (and cover). My husband and I fit the layer back into the box and put the shopping label the company sent us onto the box. We returned the layer, and I wanted to see the return to through before I re-ordered the firmer layer and the cover. Today, I finally saw that I was refunded, but the amount for the layer I was not happy with was about $33 off what I was originally charged. When I called the company to ask about this, I was told that it's their policy to charge $99 for a return, and that they actually saved me money by just charging me for the return shipping. So what is this about a 90-day satisfaction guarantee? By way of explanation, and after also mentioning how "all mattress companies do this" (I thought your selling point was that you weren't like other mattress companies?), I was referred to the website, which I never actually explored before because I have always dealt with this company by phone and never previously came across this issue. No such fees were mentioned up front, nor were they on the invoice. I guess I won't upgrade my mattress after all -- why would I agree to pay extra fees for what is functionally a mattress layer firmness adjustment due to the firmness being off? And finally: Jeremy, saying "have a nice day" at the end of a conversation that doesn't make sense doesn't constitute good customer service. And, actually, in the full context of our final conversation, it's pretty rude. read more

The mattress came packed in three boxes that evidently had been compressed by a machine. It was obvious that once opened, there was no way to ever get the products back in a box! I simply sent all back and had to eat a $99 return fee. They offer you a free pillow and protector but they are buried in the bed material and impossible to get to. $99--- goodbye! They also offer a free pillow just for reaching the website. Guess what? Start to place the order and find you have a $15 shipping fee for the free pillow; not revealed until you begin to check out. This is a come on to get the product into your home where you will never compress it enough to ship it back. A phone call to customer support confirmed humans had not packed the stuff; machines did! After doing a lot of research, I bought a latex split king from Sleep EZ in the early 2000's. I've had almost two decades of excellent sleep on this great mattress! The wool blend zippered cover is sturdy, and still in perfect condition. Recently, my lower back pain started to come back in the morning, which made me realize that the latex is starting to break down, and it's time to start replacing layers. I'm waiting on delivery of two new layers, and will continue to replace layers until I get the mattress back to the firmness I need. I've had an organic latex bed from sleep extra for about 2 years. We chose to take a chance on this bed after 15 years of picking horrible mattresses. While I was nervous ordering online, I figured I couldn't do worse than I had from a box store. My husband loved his side immediately. We were both recommended firm-Med- soft. His was perfect. I'm pickier due to back problems. I have scoliosis and fibromyalgia. After trying different orders of the layers, I called to see about returning it. After lots of discussion about what I had tried and what hurt, they made a recommendation and extended the 100 days. I'm still sleeping on the order they recommended (f-s-m)! I love my mattress. I used to like to go to certain hotels- now they're uncomfortable compared to mine. If I were to do it over, I'd probably switch it out my soft for a medium as I prefer a slightly firmer bed, but the way it is is fine. They would have switched it in the warrant period if I had called. For reference, I'm 5'4" 110lbs and my husband is 5'9" 190lbs. As for fumes/smells, they were very faint coming out of the shrink wrap. Hubby couldn't smell it but I smell everything. Once the cover was on, there was no smell! Our former hybrid from a box store was so strong I wouldn't sleep on it for a couple of weeks! Now on a more personal note, it is our opinion that his side w the soft on top is too soft for sex (not enough resistance). You sort of sink in. The middle is the firmest part of the bed (you can't feel the seam, it's just former than either side). Both the middle and the side w the medium on top are fine for sex. I have always had exemplary customer service from them but I just called and was surprised again by their wonderful staff! I purchased a king mattress but considering going to two twins so we could operate the bases independently. They offered to modify my current cover for me so I would only have to purchase one cover. It's been about a year since getting my latex bed. I still really like it & it hasn't sagged more. I do prefer the firmer layers though-- If I were to redo it, I would get all extra-firm dunlop layers. But that's just how my hubby and I prefer our beds. (and we are not heavy people). The talaylay layer feels more soft than dunlop overall. It is flippable & layers are exchangeable-- so in the future, I may invest in extra firm dunlop layers-- but keep in mind that it is not an easy task to switch around layers b/c of the weight of the latex. Hubby and I can do it since there are 2 of us-- but it would be REALLY challenging to do it on your own. We got a queen size as well-- I think a king would be even heavier & harder-- but do-able. read more

My search for the perfect mattress started about three years ago. I initially bought the top-of-the-line mattress from Macy's. Within six months it started getting body impressions so I returned it at a penalty. Then I went to Bloomingdale's and bought my first Kluft latex mattress. Paid almost $6000 for the latex mattress. Within six months of started getting dents and body impressions again despite all the rotations and turns. I later found out that only a few inches on the top was actual latex and the bottom was just basically cheap foam which breaks down. Bloomingdale's has an amazing customer service policy so we upgraded to a different mattress and to tell you a long story short after four separate Kluft mattresses ending up to almost a $20,000 mattress we ended up returning all of them due to the same problem. So then I really started researching mattresses and I became so familiar with the mattress industries inns and outs. I looked at memory foam mattresses hybrid mattresses and latex mattresses and my extensive research led me to realize that latex mattresses are the best. But the more research I did I realize that and not all latex is the same In fact the vast majority of latex mattress out there only have a few inches of latex. I learned about the different types of late text from Dunlop to Talaylay to natural organic and synthetic to blends. Yes I found out that latex can be synthetic!! I search the Internet and I found a long list of online mattress retailers as well as several in Virginia area that sell them shops and stores. After an exhaustive search I realize that what I wanted was at least 12 inches of natural organic Talaylay latex. Only a few companies offer that but most of them charge somewhere between the $6000-8000 range for it. Ultimately my decision came down to between saavy rest locally and SleepEZ in Arizona. Essentially both were the same but I couldn't justify paying twice as much for the local mattress just for the convenience so I went and purchased sleepez mattress. it came a few days later and assembled it within about an hour very easily and I absolutely love it. Well, they didn't come from this place, and there's even one at the time of this writing across the street from the showroom. Is Sleep EZ greedy? No, don't think so, but they will sell you a great mattress at a decent price. My wife and I did a lot of studying and shopping around before coming here, and we found that the type of mattress that most suited us is the latex type--all organic. Since my wife has a severe allergen problem (and I get it from time to time as well), we needed an all natural mattress like this that wouldn't break the bank. Sleep EZ has it. Go there, lay down, try it out, maybe get a fancy motorized platform with massage. . . I'm not waking up sore anymore, and I have Sleep EZ to thank for it. I also noted in my research that latex mattresses like the ones they sell here are the best ones for sex, and that only makes things better. This is review for the mattress I bought 5 years ago over the phone after reading the website. Still love it 8 hours+ a day! I bought a king bed with three layers on each side so we can mix and match both sides. I have a Med, Firm, firm. My S.O. has Med, Med, Firm. You can easily assemble your mattress in about 5 mins. put the pieces in the right order and then zip the mattress cover. voila! As maintenance, once in a year, we unzip and flip the top layer over. Since we were worried about the fire retardant mandated for mattresses, we were able to go with a chemical free path. The sleep ez mattress cover itself has wool woven into the middle and acts as the fire retardant. Shawn was a great help with choosing the original bed. He even helped us buy the bed for the guest room last fall. If you are on the border between two firmness levels, I recommend going with the firmer level. One thing to watch out for. Some bed frames have slats that are spaced more than 1" apart. So you may l need a box spring, bunky boards, or plywood sheets cut to the right size under you mattress so it doesnt sag in between the slats. read more

I absolutely love this mattress. I helped move it up a flight of stairs and open the boxes for My parents. It was a split cal king 13 in organic latex mattress with the configuration of Extra firm dunlap at the bottom for both sides, then Firm dunlap for both, 2 more layers of medium talalay for my dad and two more layers soft talalay for my moms side. It took 15 minutes to put together after my moms idea of laying it on a hard flat surface. So the reason I am writing this review is because after I helped put it together , I just had to see or rather feel what the big deal was about this mattress that my mother and sister kept going on about. I jumped on the soft talalay side of the bed and it was nice but a bit too soft for me. Then I rolled onto the medium talalay side of the bed and took a nap. About an hour later I was rudely awakened from a great deep sleep and went back to my room where my memory foam mattress was waiting. As I laid down on my bed my body immediately remembered the feeling of the talalay latex mattress with that nice organic wool Cover which didn't make me too hot and just cradled me like a baby. And I slept as such for that glorious hour. The rest of the evening I remained awake tossing and turning until morning. Well, I put in my request for a new SleepEZ mattress exactly like the one I tested out. My birthday is coming up in August and I would function better with a goodnight rest. We just bought our second mattress from Sleep EZ and couldn't be happier. We bought the Queen Roma Latex Mattress for our guest bedroom and our guest loved the mattress. It has a softer and harder side, so perfect for any occasion and all you have to do is flip it over for someone who prefers softer or harder support. We bought a latex mattress for our King size bed many years ago, and when I called Sleep EZ, they recommended the less expensive Queen Roma for the guest bedroom. They could easily have sold me a more expensive mattress, but I was very pleased to have a more economical alternative. Ordered a slatted foundation from their online store after HOURS of research on slatted foundations for my new memory foam mattress (think Leesa and Casper mattresses). Compared to all of the other foundations I found, they were the only ones who had slats that were less than 3 inches apart. Also loved that they stated the foundations are specifically for memory foam mattresses :D The ordering process was very easy and fast: received a phone call within the same day of placing my order and email confirmation when item was shipped. Doesn't last-expensive- save your money! We purchased Select Sleep Natural Talalay and Dunlap Queen 4 years ago and after trying the soft, med, firm arranged in different order still couldn't get the comfort level we wanted so after talking to Sleepez we ordered a foam topper from them $300 which did make it comfortable for a while. Fast forward 3 1/2 years there is a 1 1/4 sag in the middle a 1/4 less than warranty level when measured but when you are laying on it its like you are in a trough and can barely roll out. This has become just too uncomfortable to take any longer so its back to memory foam that costs less than1/2 what Sleepez does and lasts about the same, one more lessen learned :( read more

This review for now is about customer service. As I have only had 2 nights on the mattress, verdict isn't in yet, but it's lookin pretty comfortable so far. When it comes to customer service though - these folks are stellar! Ordered a latex mattress w 3 different layers that were FedEx'd out in three boxes. Fedex got turned around and decided to send one of the 3 boxes from AZ to TX to MS and then to NC (when I live in CA). And so the final layer of my new bed stationed out not in CA while the other 2 layers arrived in 2 days. After almost a week went by and Fedex hadn't updated the location for 4 days, it looked like the final layer was probably lost. First off, these guys knew about the fedex mishap before I did and reached out by phone and email on how they were trying to figure out what happened and kept in contact w me. Then, they went out of their way to send a replacement when Fedex definitely was at fault. In the end, the original layer reappeared and actually arrived a day before the replacement, but even w that happening, they're orchestrating the return. Customer service of this caliber just doesn't exist anymore! The real topper, is this level of service even in the midst of the pandemic - absolutely phenomenal. read more

We bought a mattress from Sleep EZ more than two years ago (a 9 inch high queen size organic latex model). It continues to be the most comfortable mattress we've ever owned. Better than any conventional mattress made by Serta, Sealy, Simmons or Kluft that we have owned in the past, or our Sleep Number mattress that we had for 6 years. It is remarkably comfortable and easy to care for. We also appreciated how easy it was to work with the company's customer support department as we worked with them to find a combination of firm, medium and soft layers that met our preference.
