Clean, fast WiFi, great, kind and helpful staff/service, comfortable beds. My favorite thing is how clearly devoted they are to the environment. No plastic bags in the trash cans. No changing of linens unless you request (meaning housekeeping won't annoyingly open your door at 8am). The breakfast eggs were good. Just came for a night before heading to the Grand Canyon. The staff were friendly, and the rooms were spacious and super comfy. We appreciated how quiet the rooms were as well. Breakfast was okay overall with a range of options. Wouldn't have minded some fresh whole fruit or less sugary yogurt options as well as some herbal teas. Shower good size with an adjustable shower head and good pressure . I had super hot water at night - in the morning water not as hot but still sufficient Clock radio that I was going to use for an alarm was a little tired and I wasn't so sure it would work so I relied on my phone alarm Breakfast had an ok amount of options - would have liked apples or pears in addition to the bananas instead of eating a dole fruit cup. Eggs served with a meat every day, waffle maker, bread options Loved that there was a choice of juices in a dispenser - orange and apple . Coffee dispenser also let you choose regular, decaf and even dark! Appreciated the dark coffee option. Just stayed for one night - crash & go - on a cross-country road trip. This hotel was very nice. Quiet and clean. The staff were friendly. Check-in was easy and fast. The best word to describe the room is Compact. It was clean with the usual amenities, but it was very tight, with not much room to move around. Two queen beds pretty much fill the space. Double beds would make it a little accessible. The door to the toilet was a pocket door because there is no room for a regular door to swing. There was a shower stall instead of a tub. Nice surprise, the stall actually had more room than a tub would have. Shower had hot water and good pressure. No complaints from me. Breakfast area was clean and well-kept. Hotel coffee is generally hideous and this was no exception. I would gladly stay here again. read more

It's a nice, budget friendly motel. The rooms are small, but I wasn't there for too long. The beds were comfortable, and the room was quiet. It's right across the street from a shopping center with a large parking lot, where there's a walmart (very convenient) and restaurants. They have free breakfast for their customers, and the front desk is extremely nice and accommodating. If you want a bottle of water, ask them, and a cold, refreshing water from the fridge is given to you. read more

The bed bugs were unforgiving. The location and of the hotel was great, breakfast was decent but the bed bugs were relentless.

Stayed here on my most recent trip to the Flag! Service was friendly and efficient and check in was a breeze. I was traveling solo which turned out to be a good thing. These rooms are tiny, I mean small, ok for just me, but I can't imagine two people crammed in there. Despite the small size the room was cozy and comfortable, the bed was decent and my room was clean. The walk into town where all the action is , takes a bit of time, but it is doable, and if you're like me and are there to go to brewpubs, not having to drive is a nice plus! Plus you can get warmed up by hitting up Grand Canyon Brewing which is a short walk away. You're also close to several fast food options, a local burger joint , a grocery store, and a Sizzler! The pool was nice as well, but the jacuzzi needed a good cleaning. Overall very nice trip, I'd stay there again. read more

She was super friendly and got us checked in a little early with no issue. She was the best thing about their service here. For those of you who are coming through this town that is highly frequented by interstate travelers, beware. I am African-American. I booked the hotel through a third party. When I arrived at the location and Sarah the front desk clerk saw my black skin, the harassment began immediately. Though I had made my reservations to include in early check-in, she attempted to deny me the check-in early. I had to practically beg her to accommodate me. She used that moment to try to upsell me to converting my reservation to a direct reservation. She told me all of the problems that happened were because I didn't book directly through the hotel. I don't know what kind of crack she was smoking but I was stuck with this idiot in order to get my keys to the room. Of course I declined her offer to pay $15 more or what I would call the black tax to have the room. As I began to talk, I share that I pull the truck in to the lot. Why did I do that? She jumped at that opportunity to try to deny me opportunity to use the parking lot for the truck. It was a Penske truck with my car in tow. Though I wasn't parked on the fire lane it was impossible to bring the truck in and put it in the farthest regions of their lot without it taking up room. I suggested we go outside before she gave me the keys to the room and confirm the position of the truck was acceptable. We both went through the door outside where she looked at the truck and approved its location. There is a camera trained on the exit door where we were standing. She released my keys, I came back down to use the sauna and the pool which must have horrified them because when I came out, she was standing around by the sauna as though it was the oddest thing she'd ever seen, a black woman and a bathing suit. Two of her maids were standing around and I asked one of them to give me a blanket to roll up to elevate my legs because after driving for so long they were swollen pretty bad. Sarah stood there looked down at my legs as I explained how uncomfortable it was to be in that condition. I took the items to my room, showered up and just before I was about to lay down, Sarah called my room. You guessed it another attempt to harass me. She told me I'm sorry I need you to move your truck. I told her no I cannot I'm in no condition. She was sabotaging my stay and making me worry and be anxious at a moment where I was so exhausted after driving for several hours, all I wanted to do was rest and she knew it and that's what made it particularly cruel and depraved of her. I insisted on speaking with her manager. The conversation with him would reveal the route to why this despicable clerk had the audacity and confidence to treat me the way she did. Donald Dry, called me. I explained what happened. He didn't care. He said there is no guarantee my truck won't be blocked in because of where it is parked. They even tried to say I was parked too close to an emergency spot which was refuted by the police when they arrived. It was me that called the police after Donald threatened me on the phone. As I began to tell Donald I felt the behavior I was experiencing from his clerk was racially motivated and I was being harassed, he said oh do you want harassment? I have some officers at the local police department that I can bring here and make them harass you!! I ended the call and called the police. Officer Larsen went to the white girl Sarah to get her story first. Though it wasn't Sarah that caller him. When he got to my room, as I was about to file the report he asked for my ID which is normal but it's not normal for him to take my ID and call it into the base to run me like I am a defendant. That is what he did. I started recording . He looked out the window at my truck and there was no ticketable offense. He scribbled the report number on the business card he gave me in a way so that it couldn't be read. You know sloppy on purose. These bigots have been reported all the way up to the mayor's office down to Coconinos sheriff for their actions. If you are black,don't Lodge here read more

This is my third update after my initial review. It is likely to be my last. We had a three-night stay starting on Christmas Day, for our usual reason of visiting our sons that live here. Though we booked the room months in advance, we were given a smaller room at the back of the hotel on the second floor. It had a smell to it that bothered my wife. We made due but the next morning my wife politely asked if we could move to a larger room. Trevor, the clerk, was super nice and accomodating. He allowed us to move into a larger room that is in the area on the second floor where we have had rooms in the past. This room turned out to be OK, with good water pressure, nice hot water, two queen beds that--for me--were not that comfortable. The bathroom fan didn't work. I don't believe the hotel has been updated in the 6 years we have been coming. The complimentary breakfast was not good. Watery scrambled eggs with no flavor, and undercooked sausage patties. They do have waffles if you're into that, plus juices, coffee, muffins, and toast. If you come home late, parking is still an issue(guess they are able to stay booked up, good for them). The parking spots are very small so often there are spots but the cars on both sides are over the line so the spot is not able to fit a car. Staff are usually friendly. Trevor was a great help. The young lady we met on Christmas Day did not seem very happy to be working. Can't say I blamed her. The older, balding, night clerk actually smiled at us this time. We are now comfortably retired and able to stay anywhere we like. We'll be visiting our sons more often each year. I don't think we'll be returning to the Sleep Inn. read more

Booked a last minute reservation and called ahead for a late check in. It's very well located, around 3 minutes from downtown. Check in was smooth but the guy who worked that night didn't tell us about breakfast or any amenities or offer any help with bags. He also programmed all the room keys for a day only so it was overwhelmed for the person working the next day. Rooms are clean but very small and we had a lot of luggage so that was the only challenge. It comes equipped with microwave, mini fridge, iron, hair dryer. Breakfast next day was decent too, there were scrambled eggs, bread station, waffle maker, prepacked yogurt, oatmeal and cereal, milks, tea/coffee. It's conveniently located near many places in Flagstaff, such as the Walmart right across the street and several restaurants. The room was very clean and the the bed was very comfortable. Great Value! I was traveling with my parents and had to make sure I find a clean, comfortable and quiet place in Falstaff. I Did some looking around online, mostly on Yelp, and scored! Sleep Inn is far enough from the railroad line that runs across the city, so no running train noise at nights. Although it is near the highway, the windows are what you might call soundproof, so no problem! The beds are very comfortable, good pillows and clean rooms. Breakfast is served downstairs every morning and is actually fine if you are travelling on a tight budget, and the coffee is OK too. The staff are very friendly and the location is near a couple of good eateries. Also, there is a Walmart across the street in case you need to purchase something. read more

I was going to give this place a four but after staying here most of the evening it definitely is a five. Everything is so clean. Everything works. Everything has been designed following form must follow function. This is not always the case with hotels or motels. We have been on the road for 2 1/2 weeks and it is amazing how irritating it can be when things are not thought out. This place has been designed well. Plenty of carts at each entrance and exit. Inviting areas to sit and have conversation. Both inside and out. There's a group of French tourists that are staying here and they have really enjoyed this facility. There is an outside area where you can sit and enjoy the cool of the evening. The mountain air is lovely and they have set up a little area where you can enjoy it. The man at the desk was so pleasant and so efficient. read more

Stayed there during a meeting at NAU. Smartly located by a large shopping center, and NAU, the Sleep Inn was remodeled about 6 months ago. Contemporary furnishings in the lobby, new carpets, new tile floors in the bathrooms, and smart colors and artwork in the simple rooms are welcoming. The front desk clerk was nice and efficient. The grounds and the pool are are clean, with a barbecue and fire pit with chairs and tables in the front. This is a much welcome place to relax after a long drive, however, it's also where all the smokers hang out. The rooms are equipped with a flat screen TV mounted on an acoustic panel, microwave, mini fridge, single cup coffee maker, desk, lamps, and a closet. They are well lit, and in my room, there were three lamps, one overhead above the desk, and a wall light. The bathroom has both a vanity light and fan. The beds are comfortable, and the linens are fine. Basic toiletries are provided, and there is a small blowdryer on the wall. Do bring wall chargers for your phones and tablets, as they don't have any USB ports. There's an AC / Heater wall unit in the room, though disconcertingly, they put the sheer curtain in front of the light blocking curtain and the result is a constantly blowing curtain as the unit runs. In the bathroom, which was marked as "accessible," they had a shower chair available as well as a phone by the toilet. However, I was surprised to see a step-in tub/shower combo, rather than just a roll-in shower that would accommodate wheel chairs and walkers. I think they should rethink their accessibility standards and redo the bathroom, as well as put in braille guides for blind customers, where needed. I think there are little things they could do to make the rooms less utilitarian: Bumpers on the closet doors so they don't slam shut, a soft closing toilet seat that doesn't slam down, and USB ports for charging. Also, it looks like whomever grouted the tile floors, wiped a bunch of it on the new fiberglass shower insert. It should come off, but maintenance will have to do it. (115) I think this place is probably popular with the NAU crowd, and it really is nicely set up for someone coming in for a meeting and needing to get some work done. The grab and go breakfast was fine, and the breakfast area was neat and clean. I hope they will continue to improve and refine. read more

I stayed two nights at your Flagstaff property December 3 and 4. At 4:20 AM the smoke detector began to beep, indicating low battery, waking me and my wife. I got dressed and went to the front desk. The person on duty said "you can pull it off and it will stop." Not "I will send someone to help" or "I can move you to another room." I am 60, groggy from a sleep aid. But stretching, I am able to disconnect the device with some effort. It still did not stop so I needed to make another trip to the desk. Now fully awake at 4:35 I am not able to "Sleep Inn." Later, in the morning when I described the situation to staff, I was offered no compensation or apology because I booked through a third party. RUBBISH! It's the hotel's responsibility to maintain safety equipment like smoke detectors. Makes me wonder what else is being overlooked. Fire extinguishers? Alarms? Btw if you have anything larger than a compact car you'll need two spaces or suffer the dings of the narrow parking spaces. read more

The room we were first given smelled like an ashtray (in this "no smoking" hotel). I had just signed an agreement that smoking brings a $150 penalty... so I went back to the desk and requested another room. It was small but comfortable. Enormous shower. The door opens out, so the floor gets all wet, LOL. Noisy people in the hallway at 5 a.m., ugh. Breakfast was nothing to brag about. Really happy with the quality of this location. The night we came in all the more well name brand hotels were 200-250 a night. So I was skeptable about the quality we would find. The rooms was cosy, very clean and offered an contemporty styling. The staff was super helpful and friendly. Guided us to some lovely local spots like Wildflower and Biffs Bagels, unfortunately Biffs was so popular with the locals that they were out and the next batch would not come out for 30 minute. but if you dont require loads of space in a room its a great fit, especially for the money. read more

Hotel is located just off the freeway making it easy to get to after a long day of driving. Front desk staff was very helpful as we didn't get into town until after 11:30pm. Quick bottom line: We would NEVER choose to stay at this hotel property again. On the plus side, our room was clean and comfortable, with a modernized feel and a small, cramped bathroom. Now for the minuses, of which there were several. First, this hotel charges a resort fee, which is utterly ridiculous. Guests get nothing--ZILCH--for this "resort" fee. It is nothing more than a pure money grab on the part of the hotel property. Second, not a single one of the three front desk staff we encountered during our stay was wearing a facial mask for protection from COVID. Amidst an ever-worsening pandemic, this is shocking and unforgivable. SHAME ON YOU SLEEP INN FOR PUTTING YOUR GUESTS AT RISK LIKE THIS!! Third, our shower had no hot water, although the bathroom sink had plenty of scalding-hot water running. When this matter was reported to the front desk, they made no effort to do a "make good" for the problem and offered no compensation or apology of any kind. read more

The hotel itself was just ok. Carpets could use a change as they had the old been trampled on for years feel. Toilet was extremely loud for some reason. Pool was standard, food was standard, overall good value. Customer service was excellent. I got a flat tire the night before we checked out and the front desk allowed us to check out at 1pm so that I could deal with the car that morning. Do not stay here!!!!!! I found a bed bug crawling on my husbands pillow up to his neck, even captured the bed bug (as you can see) and took it down to the front desk to see what our options were. The clerk, named Tim did not even apologize or show any empathy toward us. Anyone that knows anything about these creatures know how disgusting and hard to get rid of them it is if they attach themselves onto your luggage/shoes/whatever it may be. Luckily we booked through Expedia, and they were able to give us a full refund. This is an ongoing problem because as my husband began to check the bed and the sheets the mattress was covered by a liner specifically made for bed bugs. We are appalled at the lack of the customer service we received mainly, the nonchalant attitude the clerk had just goes to show this is an ongoing issue. This is a nice hotel, very clean and nice front desk staff, Beds were too hard for our liking but what can you do. Can't please everyone but it would be cool if there were bed comfort options when booking the room.... breakfast is included in your stay and the hotel has a good variety of items but the day we ate there the bacon was way over cooked and crumbled when picked up - this was when breakfast first started, not like it had been sitting too long. We would be interested in knowing if any of the Choice hotels offers softer beds options. We travel a lot and would like to stick with one hotel brand. Makes things easier. read more

I was going to say such wonderful things about this place. Then I looked at my invoice. After already paying a high premium for the room because of graduation weekend, and paying both state and local taxes, there was another fee outside of the advertised cost. It was called "Flagstaff Prop 414 fee". This proposition says that Flagstaff voters voted on having a higher minimum wage than the state minimum. Okay, no issue there, but don't add yet another fee outside of your advertised pricing. Businesses need to book that cost into their pricing. read more

I loved the whole experience, super nice staff, nice pool and hot tub, clean room and bathroom, the only but biggest downside was that the beds were super hard. Overall a great stay but I wasn't able to really sleep well. (late review for stay in July 2019) Good location, reasonable prices- We are visiting Sedona and a bunch of national parks in northern Arizona and spent 6 nights here.  We picked it because it had the right amenities, good location, and right price.  It's a row of hotels.  The rooms are pretty spacious and clean.  The bathroom sink is outside of the shower and toilet area.  There is no bathtub but instead of a regular square shower, they have a semi circular one which is a lot bigger and more spacious.  The air conditioner works great.  There is a in-door pool and jacuzzi; they do a good job keeping the towels stock for the pool.  The free breakfast is just ok.  The hot items always seem not really hot at all, including the gravy.  There is always very well done scrambled eggs, and alternating bacon and sausage.  The biscuits are ok but two out of six mornings they were super hard on the bottom.  They do have one waffle machine.  Bananas and oranges doesn't seem to get too much turnover.   The sign in the bathroom says to be eco-friendly, they would only give us new towels every three days but that only lasted a couple of days, and they were messing up on number of items and not replenish items.  The staff is friendly and helpful with giving us towels and other items but they have no maps of surrounding area other than the advertisements which was a bit disappointing.  Overall, we had a great stay and would come back again! read more

Hellen at the front desk is the best employee a business can have. She was so unbelievably nice and accommodating. I accidentally made my reservation for the wrong dates and without issue, she booked me a new one with the exact number of beds I needed. My group and I were traveling in a group of three and she was able to get us a room with 2 queens and a pullout twin. Not at all what I was expecting, and it ROCKED. Not sure if management reads these, but Hellen deserves all the recognition in the world for working late at night and still being able to help out guests in a kind and helpful way. read more

This place looks newly renovated. The rooms were modern, clean, and comfortable. Check in was easy and very friendly. We skipped breakfast as it was very crowded. However everyone looked happy and there were good scents coming from the dining area. We only stayed one night, it was very pleasant. We would definitely stay here again. read more
