Checked in late night after a long day on the road girl at the front desk was unpleasant. Maybe removing her nose ring would adjust her attitude. The rooms at this sleep inn are not as nice as others i have had the pleasure to visit. The sink is right next to the bed. An average size person would be very cramped in the shower or toilet. The toilet door was facing the bed, no privacy. The only good thing was the clean bed. Would not want to stay there again.

Friendly helpful staff, Pleasant, clean rooms make this a decent place to stay. The building is older, but in good repair. The front doors are not automatic. The bathroom nook (yes,I said, "nook" is just that-a nook) was small but nice with a sliding wood door separating the toilet and large shower stall from the sink. The desk area is a decent size and the room had a fridge. The beds were good although the linen was dated, but clean. The curtains were good blackout type with no leaks of light. The breakfast was basic with sausage biscuits, boiled eggs, only 1 waffle maker, cereals, pastries, fresh fruit, instant oatmeal and grits with orange or apple juice, coffee and different types of tea. They also had flavored creamers for coffee. The breakfast room is tiny and sitting room is at a premium. The breakfast lady was very pleasant and refilled everything quickly. It was easy to find and just off the exit. Convenient to many local attractions. A good place to stay.

Come stay for Bike Week and ya might leave with one of these cuties!

Clean, friendly and professional. We had a wonderful quiet nights sleep for a fair price. What more could you ask?

The ability to park the car once and leave it for the couple of days was attractive. I couldn't be more pleased with our visit here. The Staff greeted us and was helpful throughout our stay, the historic building is beautiful and well maintained, the front porch has rocking chairs in a covered porch, and there's complimentary coffee in the mornings (and good coffee too!). The room isn't large, but is attractive, the bed was comfortable and the temperature controls worked well. There's a $15 breakfast buffet that we used once. It's typical eggs, potatoes, meats, yogurt, fruit, oatmeal/grits, and OJ. We went for breakfast a few doors down and spent $26 for 2 bagels and one coffee; I don't think this was an outrageous price at a nice hotel in a nice room with good service. There's an indoor pool that looked good, but we were busy and didn't get a chance to use it. The hotel truly is located in a great location. We ate within walking distance of a couple of good restaurants, and a few of the significant attractions are only steps away (although, be warned, the neighborhood is hilly!) The parking is $7.50 per night in a public lot attached to the building. They charge the parking to your room with in-out privileges.

The one issue I have is the condition of the sheers at the windows in the rooms. They are turning brown and seem to always be ripped and hanging in shreds. This detracts from the experience. Also the covered entry is looking dirty with debris littered everywhere and the smell of cigarettes. There is also much needed painting of wooden lattices on exterior "pavillions" needed. C'mon Hotel 24,you can do better! The staff is always pleasant and the buffet breakfast is enjoyable if you prefer to eat at the hotel instead of stepping outside for pastries and baked goods and other options just steps away.

We appreciate the friendly staff as well. We got a room on the fourth floor which meant we had to take the elevator to the third (it only goes to the third) and then take the stairs up. Well worth it, because on the fourth floor you see spiral stairs up to a lighthouse-like structure on the rooftop. Expansive view. The room itself was very quiet, well insulated, modern bath, everything. The only drawback was the very low water pressure (maybe due to being on the top floor? or is it like this throughout the building?). Bed was very comfy though this "queen bed" definitely seemed smaller than usual. At night it got quite cold; we were told the air heating raises 1 degree per hour (several hours passed and, according to the thermostat, nothing changed). Luckily the front desk provided us with a portable heater. While Hotel 24 may be more convenient, situated just next to the Blackfriars Theatre, the Blackburn Inn (just a quick drive under the railway track) is a world onto its own.
