Coby was the Rep who spent time letting us try different beds and patiently explained everything and helped us decide on the right bed for our needs. Sleep number beds are very pricey, but we've had our bed now for 2 months and don't regret the purchase at all. Our sleep quality has definitely improved. Aight so first things first this store is a joke but it is not the fault of the employees. I went in the other day and bought a pillow cuz I've been waking up sore lately. I choose a pillow based on how comfortable one of the display/test pillows is. They gave me a new one but when I got home the new one was hard as a rock ... I mean not even remotely similar to the one I tried. The next day I take it back to make sure I got the same type as the one I picked. I did. The guy explains to me sometimes it take a while to break 'em in -- fair enough. But the difference between the two could not be overstated. He let me try the other ones but they were all rock hard as well. I asked if I could just buy the display pillow itself and of course they said no -- worth a shot I guess. I'm returning the bed I bought. It didn't help with my restful sleep and I have more back pain and shoulder pain than I did with my previous mattress, but what I'm reviewing is the purchasing and returning process. While purchasing everything is stress free. You can return within 100 days no hassle, you can setup 0% financing, and setup delivery of your bed no problem. The return process you find out how difficult things actually are. I can't return my $2000 frame (which wasn't expressed to me during my purchase but is in the fine print of the papers they make you sign), they sign you up for a store credit card which they don't ask your permission to do. I wanted to finance and create a payment plan and now I have a store credit card that is good for nothing except damaging my credit. They make you pay the restocking fee/shipment for returns and will only take back the bed. There are better options out there. Don't buy sleep number. Not worth it at all. read more

She was extremely patient with me as I tried a few different beds and asked a ton of questions about the differences in the ILE vs. I8 model. She was extremely knowledgeable about the different options and helped us narrow down what we wanted. Although we really wanted to take advantage of the Labor Day sale, we decided to hold off. They recently had a promotion this weekend so Alexis messaged me about the details. So glad she did because we got back on track to ordering our dream bed w/ the full bed/blanket/pillow combo. She was always honest and simplified the different options for us as it can be overwhelming to choose between a variety of pillows/sheets. Now we're just waiting for the bed to be delivered, but we took home the pillows and boy did I sleep well last night! Short & sweet: professional, friendly, product delivered on time with clean & efficient set-up as expected and so far we are very happy with the purchase. Store was clean, they were clearly practicing best practices in this new era since the pandemic started. Staff was very courteous, patient as we tried the different mattress options. They explained everything clearly, gave us space and time to try the mattress without constantly chatting or trying to get an opinion within 10 seconds of laying down, etc. It was a pleasant experience. Talked through all the options and educated us on the various products, and then let us make the decision without pressure. We picked it out, including the flex base with foot warmer. It was easy check out, easy to set up a delivery date, and everything happened on time as expected. We were notified 2 days before of our delivery window, and they contacted us the day-of when they were about 20 minutes out to let us know they were on their way. The team set up the bed quickly, they were friendly and respectful of our home, and explained everything well before they left. We've only had the bed in the house for 1 night so far but both of us are very happy with it and would recommend Sleep Number and the Pacific Commons location. read more

We've been having issues with sleeping and we were starting to wonder if the Novaform bed we got at Costco was the issue. My brother had told us about their Sleep Number and so we figured, why not? So we wandered to our closest Sleep Number store which was the one in Pacific Commons. Parking was easy. There's parking in the front on the main street or there are two larger lots on both sides in Target and Dick's. There were a few employees inside and they were all very attentive in one way or another, but it was so quiet in there. We were trying out beds and were eventually helped by someone to find our sleep number. Although she was nice, she wasn't very convincing to make us really enthusiastic about the product. She felt like she didn't like her work and was forced to do this and try to connect with us. In the end, although it was fun to try, the whole experience for us fell flat. The beds were super expensive, but I'm sure if we were really wanting it, we'd come back. read more

Very friendly service. Yes they are selling mattresses. Yes they are expensive. But they are super amazing mattresses with a warranty longer than the roof on your house. And really what is a great nights sleep really worth? The sales people in this store are great. They invite you to lay down and check out the mattresses. And because they are air powered they give a guided tour if you want. If you don't want they let you just browse around and lay where you please. And when you look at too quality mattresses anywhere these are really not that expensive. All in all I recommend this store for anybody shopping for a new mattress. read more

I'm a previous owner of sleep number not just 1 but 2 different model. My advice is do lots of research about the product and the company. I have bad back ache since I start sleeping with my first sleep number, I followed the recommendation settings and it didn't work so after months and months I rarely sleep on it, I prefer sleeping using a different mattress located in the other room. I can't return bed because of the company policy but I manage to sell it and then I decided to get a different bed is which more expensive than my old purchased thinking it might solve the issue and I could get a better experience because I pay more but N O . Sleep number is just a hype , it doesn't really help your back. I never ever had a back issue before I purchase the 2 beds , but after owning 2 of their beds I also started seeing chiro to help with the back ache since I started using sleep number. I'm also in my early 30, fit and healthy. Fremont center , worst location , for some reason they gave my home address to someone accidentally and stranger went to my house trying to pick up the mattress and they have the print out with my home address in it , I called and asked about a bizarre incident And they denied everything. So my advice stay away . There's a lot of good mattress out there with better client relationship Thank you read more

We went to Sleep Number at Pacific Commons back in February 2021. We didn't know much about their beds other than what we saw on TV commercials. Our salesperson, Kelly (Asian guy with glasses), educated us about the various models of Sleep Number beds and how they work. Best of all, he was not pushy. They were following COVID protocols (limited customers in the store) and we used a cover to put over the pillows when we tested out the various beds; that helped us to feel safe during the process. We actually decided to go home and mull it over since this was a pretty big purchase for a bed (the size and model that we wanted was in the $7K range). We ultimately decided to buy the bed (and new pillows) so we returned the same day to make the purchase. We've now had the bed 8+ months and love it! My sleep quality is much better. I used to always have to take naps in the afternoon and now I rarely take naps anymore. (It probably didn't help that my old spring mattress was 15+ years old!) Also, I got great financing which made it easier to bite the bullet on purchasing a pretty expensive bed (although I still find it funny that I have a bed payment!). Thanks, Kelly! Also, delivery was seamless. Shout out to our delivery guys Sarj and Lamar. The bed (king size and very, very heavy) had to go upstairs, including a hairpin turn on the stairs with a chandelier right above the turn. Sarj and Lamar were careful and totally professional. First, Sleep Number sells air mattress systems, and if you haven't slept on one of these, YOU NEED TO. Forget the rest, these are the best. Not just Sleep Number, but good air mattress beds in general. SO comfortable. SO kind to your body. You just need to get one of these mattresses. They are expensive, but not more expensive than other high-quality mattresses. The Fremont Sleep Number store: I went on a Monday at 4:00 and pretty much had the store to myself. Alexis helped me and was super nice. Very helpful, not pushy at all. So should you buy your air mattress from Sleep Number? Sleep Number makes quality air mattresses. Their prices are not the cheapest around, but they are the only brand you can actually find in stores and actually try and compare before you buy. They are more expensive than the online competition. Hundreds of dollars more for comparable mattresses at each level. If you buy a mattress online and decide to return it, you have to pay for shipping and restocking. Plus repacking and shipping a huge, heavy mattress will not be fun. Do the research and decide for yourself. Sleep tight. read more

However, every time we step into a Sleep Number showroom/store, the sales people were either unfriendly, pushy, arrogant, unhelpful...etc., or a combination of all these (especially at the Stoneridge, Pleasanton, CA location). Alexis (Sleep Number @ Fremont, CA) was friendly, helpful, and most important, not pushy. I hate sales people who are pushy, short-visioned, push you to make a purchase without careful consideration, and push you to buy a more expensive item. Alexis is happy to help you in any case, building customer relationship is more important, which in turn makes you rather to buy it from her when you are ready to make the purchase. Alexis was also very open and honest with the No return exchange only policy. So, we made the purchase with her. read more

We recently purchased a sleep number bed at Sleep Number store in Fremont. Since we never purchased a Sleep Number bed before we were not sure that it will serve our need so we asked for the return policy. The manager name is Fred. He told us we can return the bed within 100 days if we are not satisfied but never mention about restocking fee of $199 in additon to $179 that we have to pay for home delivery/set up fee. We have been purchased our bed at SleepTrain and they never charge us for restocking fee so we assume the same and did not read the fine print on the customer order paper. Today we called SleepNumer to return the bed and realize that we have to pay the restocking fee of $199. So if you want to consider Sleep Number bed you better think twice or many times becasue it is costly if the bed does not work for you. In addition, you need to read the contract carefully because the the store manager named Fred will try not to tell you all terms and conditions of sale in order to sell you the bed, very unethical. read more

Salesperson was very pleasant and knowledgeable. Not happy with the last minute sharing the delivery cost is a ridiculous-$199. Yes they offer 100 night trial period but they forget to tell you if you want to return it, it's another $199!! Never would have tried the mattress if fully disclosed. I think this is why most people don't return the mattress even is they are not happy. Highway robbery. We have to wait 2 weeks for the pick up too. Had high hopes this was the bed, but no good. $400 less money to spend on a replacement that doesn't charge ridiculous deliver fees. The two stars are for the sales rep, not the company. read more

This review is based on the customer experience. First, the service there is inconsistent. The quote we received, didn't match the actual price we paid, we paid like $500 more than the quote. Second, it takes 2-3 weeks plus, to get your actual bed. They say someone will call you to set up your delivery within a week. The people that call you don't leave messages so a week and a half later, we received an email with your name spelled completely wrong, to call them. By the time we called them, they only had dates 2 weeks out. Third, when they schedule your date, you don't actually get your four hour window. You don't get your four hour window until the day before they deliver. That doesn't give you much time to rearrange your day. So - if you're going to order a bed, it's not like one of those places if you order it by 2pm, you get to sleep on it the same day. You don't get to sleep on it for a month, if you're lucky. I expected way better customer service, hopefully when the bed arrives, it meets all expectations. read more

We bought our first Sleep Number bed from Fredrick at the Fremont location. Fredrick was super helpful and very professional. The guys that delivered the bed were also very professional and took the time to walk us through set up and maintenance. We've slept on the bed a week and are pretty happy with it, we're still fine tuning the sleep numbers but all in all we're satisfied w/ the quality and comfort of the bed. So if my rating was just for the bed, the store and delivery team I'd give 5 stars but unfortunately the bed took 7 weeks to be delivered. We were promised the bed would be delivered on a Tues, they called that Monday and said sorry, it'll be the next Weds. They called the following Tues, apologized again and said next Thurs. You guessed it, they called that Weds and cancelled again. 3 times we had to arrange to be home for a 4 hour delivery window and 3 times they cancelled the day before. First excuse: your bed didn't make the delivery truck Second excuse: we jut got a new computer system installed Third excuse: your bed is missing a part that didn't arrive on time Be warned, the bed is good but the service and BS we had to endure was unbelievable. hard to image how this company stays in business. read more

We went to sleep number because I was having back issues, so we thought a new bed would help. We went to sleep train (which is where we should have stayed) then made our way to Sleep Number. We explained our situation, the sales rep helped us find the perfect bed (so we thought) we told him that we were hesitant to make the purchase, (he even told us to go grab a coffee across the street) because we feared the bed wouldn't fix my back. He told us not to worry that we can try it for 100 nights worry free. After 40 days sleeping on the bed my back issues were still happening. We tried different numbers, but no improvement. We called to start the return process and was then told that the adjustable base is non returnable and will cost around $4,000! We signed a contract which states that, but it's a little misleading especially when the rep started showing us sheets for our new bed while signing the contract. Had the sales rep told us this when we were in the store explaining to him our hesitance we would not have bought the bed. Sleep number knows this and this is their way of scamming people. I read different reviews for the sleep numbers around the area and this is a common complaint. If you are in the market for a bed do yourself a favor and DO NOT go to sleep number. Do not make the same mistake we did. You cannot sleep on it for 100 days without paying for the adjustable base. What is a sleep number bed without the adjustable base?! Complete joke, and it's sad that sleep number does not stand behind their product. read more

Sale person was fabulous, and we felt good about our decision. Delivery took two weeks (which is ridiculous when you see what the bed parts actually look like), and the delivery guys, although they arrived late, took away our old mattress and professionally set up the new one. Fast forward six hours to my wife sleeping on the plywood of the box spring as her "mattress" sprung a leak and went flat. Called SleepNumber first thing the next morning and after getting past a hugely disrespectful associate, got SleepNumber to helpfully do "rush" "2-day" delivery on the new part (which weighs 3 lbs). Well here we are 4 days later and maybe it will arrive tomorrow. She has been sleeping in my daughter's bunk bed, and sleepnumber couldn't care less -- didn't offer to divert a part from some other as-of-yet unfulfilled order (which would suck for that other person sure, but at least they would still have a place to sleep as their old mattress hadn't been taken away), and gave a complete BS story about "none of the stores or trucks have any inventory". Bah -- I'd never buy from these guys again, and even if I try to return there is a $200 restocking fee so I'm stuck with this crappy air mattress and the company that doesn't support it's customers. read more
