I purchased my Sleep Number bed over the website, not in person at this store. I'm leaving this review for the product itself as their website will conveniently not publish and 1 star review. I have nothing bad to say about the employees here. I purchased a Cal King C1 mattress in 2019. Delivery and setup was great. The installers were polite, clean and the bed worked great. Then it just starts to fail. Initially leaking. It's not a matter of if, but when, it will start leaking. This is evident by a well designed phone support system to have the bed owner troubleshoot and address leaking and problems. It's really not fun to wake up 5 times a night in back pain to have to open the phone app and pump the bed back up. Then work the next day with terrible back pain from lying in a trough all night. After I myself did all the leg work to find out where and what the problem is, they sent out a service team to replace the pump and air chambers, which I had to pay for even though they were covered under warranty. Granted, it was a discounted rate, but I thought products were free when covered under warranty. Fast forward 2 years, the bed is leaking again and failing to read my sleep quality. I contact Sleep Number again, and again I am the free labor employee troubleshooting. I had done all this already, including capping the air chambers, resetting the electronic pump, etc. They again cover it under warranty for $180 of my money and ship out new air chambers for ME to install. I guess if you're a little 80 year old lady, you need to hire someone to do this for you. I'm 6'5" 200lbs and it was challenging for me, although it is a Cal King. Free labor for Sleep Number though. I'm guessing in 2 years I'll be purchasing more air chambers and installing them again for Sleep Number. Nah, I will go back to a regular spring mattress. Not worth it, trust me. read more

And you have to pay $250 for pickup if you want to return the mattress or exchange it to try another model. If you decide to try another model the sale becomes final!!!!!! All beds are hard and if you go too low on the sleep number then you feel like you sleep on a cheap inflatable mattress (this is a common complaint apparently). Due to a back injury our bed was making it impossible for me to sleep. Our bed was only 2 years old, so there goes another load of money down the drain. After researching we decided to look at the sleep number beds, several people we know I'm have them and love them. We came to this store and Cree helped us out, was extremely knowledgeable and patient, the bed was immediately comfortable and supportive and I wanted to sleep in the store. We got fortunate in that they had 3 years no interest, so we bought it. Had it delivered yesterday and literally slept for 10 hours, which is not normal, I think it's due to lack of sleep for the past several months! Thank you Cree for helping us out she's the best! Almost as soon after I bought the bed from Sleep Number,the Base under the mattress stopped working. The Remote stopped connecting with the bed. I could not reverse the 45 degree tilt to flatten the bed.. I had to sleep on the foot end of the bed .Technical asssitance was of no help. They are only opened for limited hours. Finally I managed to reach them. I followed their guidance and struggled for 2 hours, while I was on my knees to reach the base. Still it is not working. Beware, although they said it is refundable under 30 days, it DOES NOT apply for the Base which is bulky, complicated and prone to electronic failure. Horrible horrible customer service. I bought a bed a few days ago and the salesman RAFAEL promised us FREE DELIVERY upon purchase. When I checked my receipt the next day, I saw that I was charged the $199 delivery fee and when I called back to see if he could remove it and refund me he said "I dont know what to do, you can just return it or call corporate." I was so disappointed bc he didnt even TRY to find a solution and had the nerve to tell me to call someone else. I understand he may not have the authority to refund but at least have the BASIC customer service skills to go and find a solution instead of tossing me off to another rep. I had already been to the Sherman Oaks store a year ago asking questions about the Sleep Number beds where I never did get any answers because the sales gal simply did not know. She just repeated how great the beds are and that I should buy one while they were on sale. This time I went to the Valencia store and when I walked in I specifically asked for "the sales person with the MOST experience". Well, that person was "in the back" so I got the sales person next in line because they are on commission and they take turns waiting on walkins. Key words here are "ON COMMISSION" so be aware that making a sale, whether it suits your needs or not, is the main goal of the sales person. OMG, I got a salesman who did not understand one word I said. He talked over me constantly ignoring my questions entirely. He wouldn't even allow me to touch the remote because he needed to be in control of the demonstration. AND, it was so freezing cold in the store that, all things considered, I walked out. As I was walking out, three sales-women in heavy sweaters were giggling that I was leaving due to that man's inability to answer my questions yet they did not step in to help me. As I see it, for example, a P5 is approximately $2400. on sale. The difference between each bed is the amount of foam on the top and the price. So, a P6 has another 1" of foam and it is over $700. more than the P5. Basically, you are paying per inch of foam, about $1000. per inch!! Think about it before you buy what the 'commissioned' sales person tells you what you need. read more

We've tried out the sleep number bed a couple of times in the past. But, when you're looking at $10,000 for the top of the line mattress and adjustable base (sold separately), you have second thoughts about buying one. We went into the mall to go shop at another store for something else, and we remembered the Labor Day sale they have going on... so we stopped in. Erica was very nice and she knew her stuff. The website doesn't give you all the details and options... but she knew them. The Labor Day sake was 50% off the ILE mattress only. The adjustable bases are the regular price. I didn't care much for the mattress, so we didn't buy anything right away. The store is the right size for that type of high end product. Not too small, but not too large... but could've been a little bit larger... lol. read more

We decided that it was time for a new mattress. The trouble is she likes soft; I prefer firm. We've seen plenty of commercials for the sleep number bed and the "ahhh moment". This would be the point when all is well in the world. We were excited to visit our local Select Comfort store so off we went, prepared to be amazed and prepared to buy. After a short wait (the store is small and busy) the sales person took us over to the demonstration model. She asked us to lie down and watch a monitor as it displayed our pressure spots. She pushed the button and the bed inflated and deflated to find the magic position. I am a tough customer having had major spinal surgery so the miracle didn't happen for me but my lovely wife seemed pleased. Back at the bargaining table it began to feel like I was at a shady automobile dealership. I listened to the pricing options, accessories and delivery times. Again I will state that I was unimpressed with the beds but if it makes my wife happy it makes me happy. I asked some questions about reliability, how frequently they break down and what the most common problem is... I never got an answer. I felt these were reasonable inquiries for an expensive bed with moving parts. The sales person seemed anxious to close the deal saying that the prices were good for the current month only. My wife heard my questions and lack of answers so she told the sales lady that we'd be back after doing some research. The sales lady then told us that the price would go up if we failed to buy right then and there. We decided that anyone resorting to high pressure sales tactics didn't deserve our business so we never returned. read more

Go see Kristi!!! She's wonderful, very attentive, professional and will find the right bed for you!!! We had a very good experience shopping at The Sleep Number store, they aren't pushy and you get to try out all their beds with sanitary bed liners so it keeps the bed and customers feeling clean. Kristi took care of us and put us at ease on buying a piece of furniture that will last us for quite some time. As you know buying a bed with a huge price tag ($5,000+) is quite nerve racking, but after all the benefits are explained to you, there is no price you can pay for a good night sleep... Well I guess there is but they also have financing available if you're interested in that too! I have sciatica (back nerve pain) and getting a good nights rest is near impossible. But we've recently stayed where they had a sleep number bed and I slept like a baby! I am convinced that sleep number can help me sleep throughout the night! Do not buy one of these beds. The controls break and it takes a week to get new ones. That means for a week you can not sleep. There is no reason that the controls can not just be picked up, but they can not and they charge you an additional $50 to send them to you. This is a rip off. Buy another bed. read more

Not sure how or why the reviews are so low. I just purchased my 3rd sleep number bed and have never had a problem. When I went into the store to buy a mattress for my daughter, not only did Rubi provide me amazing service, she remembered me from my prior purchase several years earlier. She asked me all very pertinent questions and provided excellent support in selecting the right model for my daughter. The only issue I had was that I ordered the bed on 08/07 and had to wait until 09/15 for delivery but in the days of covid that is the new normal and is in no way a reflection on the local store. I received an email and a text a few days prior to 9/15 (which also happens to be my daughters birthday) confirming delivery. Much to my surprise I received a text on the morning of 9/15 confirming the ETA of my window from 9-12 and then I received a phone call saying they should be arriving right at 9:00am which they did. Christian and Jovanni wore they masks, gloves and shoe covers the entire time, set up the bed, explained all of the programming and setting and were done by 9:45 at the latest. I can't speak for anyone else's Sleep Number experience posted here, but I am supremely satisfied with everyone I have dealt with at this company. Highly recommended. read more

I'm rating the store, not the product. I went there with my wife Saturday evening in hope of purchasing a new bed. A few minutes after entering the store someone said they would "be right with me". I continued to browse for awhile and was again eventually told someone would be right with me. Now it seems to me that when I'm planning to spend several thousand dollars in a store, and I've got my wife with me (so both decision makers present to make the sale), that we should at the least be personally greeted (as opposed to being shouted at from across the room). An offer of basic assistance (what are you interested in? Oh, it's right over here. I'll be back in a moment to answer your questions...), a bottle of water, cup of coffee, etc, would have kept us there. Instead, we tired of being ignored (had to be pretty bad to get tired of waiting in a mattress store!) and left. Sleep number lost an almost certain sale (of an M7) because of indifferent staff. read more

This is a general review for Sleep Number as a company. My wife and I bought a sleep number a month ago and we tried it for a couple of weeks and we realized it wasn't for us. We have five children one which is still nursing and my wife needed to have a softer side than myself. She was experiencing a lot of back pain ever since we switched to the sleep number so we chose, because of the return policy, to return the mattress. When we called they said no you cannot return because you have to keep it for 30 days first. here's the big issue, we had to pay the $200 for the shipping and now we have to pay another $200 to have it shipped back, and on top of all of this they actually keep the sales tax!! They won't return the sales tax that we paid! That makes absolutely no sense, when you return a product to any retail establishment you get the sales tax back! So all in all we lost over $600 in delivery and taxes. I will actively make sure that none of my friends and family decide to purchase a sleep number bed. read more

This review is based purely on the service I received while in the store, as I haven't gotten my bed yet. The staff is friendly and they know their product well. Robi helped me yesterday and she was great... She gave me the body scan and helped me find my sleep number and kept me within my budget, didn't try to upsell unnecessary products. Overall the BEST experience I've had buying a bed ever! I don't know what other reviewers are talking about in regards to the staff being rude from my experience they were personable. I'd like to give no stars at all, but unfortunately it's not possible. I purchased a bed and a down comforter back in November 29th. Since then I've been trying to get a shipping date on my comforter. I called the 1800 number several times, waiting for an average of 32 min each time and nobody answered. The store manager keeps telling me that the company is a mess because they switched software systems and they don't answer the managers either. Honestly I don't care if they have software problems. They didn't seem to have any problems charging my credit card. I've tried everything, even calling the corporate office in Minnesota but the bottom line is they don't give a flying f*** about the customers. DO NOT BUY ANY SLEEP NUMBER products !!!!! Devastating experience. Was SO excited to get my Sleep Number bed. They are nice, no question. People in the store are nice, too. HOWEVER, although I have a standard, quality bed frame (sleigh bed), the bed DOES NOT FIT. I waited a week for delivery. Sales person said "if you have a king sized frame, it will slide right in." Not true for all. Evidently, there is some way the center rail is attached to the footboard that makes a 2" clearance issue. The "delivery" person (and I STRESS delivery ONLY) could do nothing. I get it, they don't want to mess with people's furniture. In fact, delivery guy told me "they give me too many to deliver in one day, I'm late already." I get it. He's not getting compensated except probably hourly. Anyway...now I am so disappointed. Really sad. But, what made me MORE sad (and mad) was that, although I paid with a debit (READ: they got my money within 30 seconds of purchase) I now have to wait TEN DAYS for a refund. Hey, maybe I could live with that if I had changed my mind. But I didn't. I WANTED the bed. They gave me inadequate information (if they had given me clearance info, hubby could have checked it out and maybe done something), the delivery person was less than helpful, and Customer Service gave the standard 10 day reply. I called HQ...they gave me to a voicemail I'm sure no one listens to. Although I've bragged about how much I enjoyed the experience in the (newly opened) store....now I have to say "avoid" unless you are buying the whole thing from the ground up. Don't think you can use your frame. If you have a nice bedroom set and don't want to destroy your own furniture to get their bed to fit...go buy a flat mattress. That's what we are going to do. Very sad. UPDATED!!! After calling Customer Care, I find out it's more likely it will be 21 days for my refund (or more). They can't begin to process until it gets returned from the truck...which could take 2-3 days! Lesson learned. Don't pay cash for anything. read more

Best purchase ever. We bought our sleep number queen bed about 6 years ago and have had amazing sleep since! No back pains. No problems with body aches if needing to be in bed for extended time due to illness. Just adjust it to your needs. We will absolutely purchase another one when the need comes. read more

The sleep number bed is very comfortable BUT BEWARE OF CUSTOMER SERVICE IT SUCKS. We moved and had sleep number come and disassembled was 199.00. Then come after the move and assemble the bed another 199.00. When they got it assembled and left it made a loud popping noise like a tire blow out we called the tech who had just left and he came back and said it was fine. Every couple of weeks or so we have to adjust back up to the number we like which is 55-60. It is dropping all the way down to 30 or so only on one side so something obviously is not right. I called to have them come and check it and they want another 199.00 dollars seems YOU should be responsible since sleep number assembled the bed is only 2 yrs old. Never had a problem before THEY moved it. BEWARE ..... Lousy Cust. Service and policy. Paid 10,000.00 for top of the line bed. read more

Terrible experience with Sleep Number. Purchased an adjustable frame and p6 Calking split mattress. On the first day the adjustable frame made loud clunking noises, on day six completely stopped working. We were given the run around for several week but finally managed to get everything picked up, even the adjustable frame. It was obviously defective. We are still disputing $699.96 for restocking and pick up. There is nothing mentioning restocking fees. We have a dispute on the credit card and a claim with the BBB. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. My husband and I came into this Sleep Number store looking to purchase a mattress. An older African American female greeted us 2 minutes after walking in the store. We let her know we were already looking at a few other mattresses and our price range which was significantly higher than the prices of the mattresses she was showing us. Then she took us over to get our sleep number evaluation and a lady walked in as we laid in the mattress and asked for help with a quick question. The salesperson walked over to help the other customer and left us there for approximately 10 minutes and says she'd be right with us but deliberately continued to help the other customer even though WE GOT THERE FIRST! I mean really? What salesperson stops helping someone else right in the middle of a possible transaction?! Unbelievable. I wouldn't give this place a single star but unfortunately that's not how this review works. Extremely disappointed with the service these people at this location are providing if any. Thanks for the reply Chris V from Sleep Number. Perhaps you didn't read my complaint correctly. I understand the "warranty." Unfortunately, it's NOT what we were told at the store level. We were NEVER told about the prorated portion of the warranty. We were told it's a 20+ year warranty. What the staff failed to mention, perhaps intentionally, is that it's only fully covered for 2 years and after that it's prorated. One could only hope that we wouldn't need the warranty in the first 2 years so offering to cover the first 2 years is a useless warranty. Here we are well past year 2 and now that we need the warranty were told it's prorated. We should have been told that prior to purchase. It's disappointing and it just cost SN at least 1 customer and perhaps more with this review. read more

Inez, who was about to go to lunch, said she would be more than happy to stay and help us. She took her time in explaining all our different options and left us alone so we had a chance to discuss.
