Boy it looks like this Farm is a wonderful place to visit from the reviews! WISH I COULD SAY THE SAME THING FOR THEIR CUTOMER SERVIVE. I PURCHASED A GROUPON TO PURCHASE SOME WONDERFUL LAMB. EVEN WITH THE DISCOUNT IT WAS GOING TO BE EXPENSIVE BUT I FIGURED GOOD MEAT FOR A FANTASTIC TREAT. WELL LIKE OTHERS THE FIRST PROBLEM IS THE COUPON NUMBER DID NOT WORK, First RED Flag! Tried to call them however the message memory was FULL! So I sent them an email a few times but no response yet! It has Ben over three month to no avail. I was away for a month and just got back. I gave them both of my phone numbers but they have not called, my memory to NOT full. Nor have they attempted to email either. I will try once more then I guess I will have to contact Groupon for a refund like everyone else. I use Goupons all the time and have never had a problem before. I am so disappointed I did go to Costco and purchased some lamb just just to feed my taste buds. Sleepy sheep Ranch, I think you should forget about selling lamb meat from what I have read. I ordered from GROUPON in July 2013... nothing. Got one contact email from David with a reply of my order attached, nothing. Every time I call the voice mail box is full, no email replies. GROUPON only offers a refund as they have had difficulty with the business and a known issue. I took a chance and called one day and someone answered... HOLY S*** WOW! I clearly spoke my return number 3 times as she informed me she was on the road on her way to the office. Guess what? NO CALL BACK! That was in November 2013. There's 2 things I know now. Jesus will most likely come back before I ever get ANYTHING from them and someone needs to feed those poor starving sheep as there is obviously NO ONE there to do so. read more

Don't buy anything from this horrible outfit. I ordered and paid for a lamb order thru Groupon back in April of 2013 and here it is January of 2014 and still no lamb. I contact them by e-mail as it is completely useless to try by phone. They don't respond and then out of the blue they send you an e-mail saying it will be shipped in the next two weeks and you wait and wait. Still no lamb. read more

This is an update. After six months I finally received a shipment. The order was not correct. Half of it was replaced by cheaper products. I was not happy about that and less happy that I was not notified that the order had been changed. I will say that the breakfast sausage that was shipped in place of the what I ordered was very good. The lamb meat was ok. Sprouts has better lamb in my opinion. Overall I don't recommend this establishment. It's not worth the money, time and frustration. He got in way over his head with the Groupon. read more

HORRIBLE Business!!! I have waited over a year for my order. I have emailed MANY times! I have called hundreds of times. They NEVER answer the phones and usually it says their mailbox is full so I can't even leave a message! VERY poor customer service. RED FLAGS!!!! DO NOT BUY LAMB FROM SLEEPY SHEEP RANCH!!! I guess I should have read the Yelp reviews before I made my purchase. I too purchased a Groupon for the Sleepy Sheep Ranch for lamb meat. I was really excited to get it as my elderly Mom loves rib chops and they are impossible to buy here. First off communication was a huge issue. I emailed and emailed and called and called and the best I could get was a form email telling me that there would be a delay as they had such a huge response from Groupon. They also don't answer their phone with any regularity. You get this "we're a Mom and Pop business" which I can understand but only goes so far! After 2 months of waiting and getting put off and put off, we agreed on a shipping date so I could be home to receive the lamb. It never came. When I finally reached them by phone, Pam said, "we ran out". But no communication via phone or email was EVER done by them. So I took a day off to be home for NO reason! So we agreed on another date which was July 31st to arrive on August 2nd. Finally this time a charge went through on my credit card for the additional lamb and shipping $25. They say they ship on dry ice packs and that it would arrive in 2 days. So again I took a day off work to be here. Well, the lamb was actually shipped in the evening of the 30th and when I checked the UPS tracking code it said it was not going to arrive until August 5th! So I called them again without any success. So dry ice lasts 2 days tops and this would have been 5 .5 days!!!! Instead of receiving rotten meat, I called UPS and refused the shipment. I also called SSR with the intention of setting up yet another delivery and then changed my mind. Why raise my blood pressure to deal with these people who don't seem to be able to do anything right? So I called and emailed explaining the whole situation and asking for a refund. I had also contacted Groupon numerous times to ask them to intercede which they attempted to do. Finally Groupon gave me a refund of that money but I am yet to hear from SSR regarding my refund of the additional lamb price and my shipping. I have now contacted my bank to dispute the charge on my card. I have NEVER been through an experience like this with a company. SO BE WARNED!!!!! read more

This ranch is a very unprofessional trail riding facility. First of all, the horses all look underweight. There is no way most of these horses can carry the max of 260 lbs. At the most, I would say 200lbs. Some of the horses have sores on their back and withers from poor fitting saddles yet they are still used for rides. The guides have no idea what they are doing and make the trip down the road and back very dangerous. When you get there, you sign a waiver where everyone just writes their name on the back of the paper without being able to read it. Then, they assign you to your horse by the length of the stirrups on the horse, not taking into consideration the customer's riding level, the horse's preferences of being in the front, middle, or end, or grouping you with the group you came with. They do not use a mounting block (which is harsh on the horse's back) and do not fix your stirrups when you get on. What you get is what you're stuck with. The horses are hard to steer and very stubborn. I was surprised that they actually put beginners on horses like these. We ran into many issues with the horses acting up during the ride. At one point, we got to "trot" or "run" without any instructions for the beginner riders. Stopping at the middle at the pavilion to eat was amazing. They really have AMAZING food. I would say for a 3 hour trail ride, you are on the horse for about one hour and 2 hours for eating. I am glad that no one got seriously hurt. I will not be going back or recommending this place to anyone (even for an advanced rider). read more

Sleepy Sheep Ranch may be okay for horseback riding, just don't purchase any meat. The company does not honor it's commitments or provide customer service. I placed an order for a rack of lamb on May 27, 2013. Sleepy Sheep Ranch printed a UPS tracking label on June 17, 2013 with an expected delivery date of June 21, 2013. The rack of lamb did not arrive. SSR would not return phone calls or emails and often their voice mail box was full. The process continued of me calling and writing emails and SSR not responding until July 16, 2013, when I received a one sentence email indicating my meat would be delivered on July 19, 2013. The meat was finally delivered on July 19, 2013 via UPS ground from Texas to New Hampshire. The three bags of dry ice were empty, the shrink wrap around the rack of lamb had been compromised, there was blood in the container and the meat was hot to the touch. SSR continued to ignore my phone calls, emails and voice mails from July 19, 2013 to July 22, 2013. On July 22, 2013, at 9:37 a.m. I received an email from David Mitchell indicated he would call me "real quick". Well "real quick" hasn't happened yet, and it's July 24, 2013 at 6:57 p.m. I initiated a dispute through PayPal, and David has agreed only to refund the $ 28.95 for shipping I was able to dispute through PayPal. SSR has not refunded the $ 39 I paid through Living Social and will be the beneficiary of a $ 108.50 damaged goods claim I made to UPS. All signs are pointing to a fraudulent company that enjoys scamming people for money - never delivering on their product and refusing to provide customer service. read more

I had to chose one star, but this place does not deserve it!!!! This ranch is a complete joke! David does not take good care of his horses! He also does false advertisement on services that he provides and he is a scam artist! I brought my horses there temporarily and paid for extra services to make sure they were well taken care and I came out there one day and found my older horse is extremely dehydrated and it was over 100 degree temperature and NO shelter and the my horse had no water! I My other horse was in a pasture with other horses when I specifically paid for both horses to be together. Also the older horse had been bitten severely by the other horses in the pasture.I had to call a veterinarian and she informed me that the horses were underfed and had dehydrated, also the older horse needed to have wound treatment because the horse was bitten so bad! I took both horses out that day and David wanted me to pay a cancellation fee! He had the nerve to ask that of me of which in the first place there was no contract signed. I refused and reported him. There has been other occurrences of this by previous boarders and that's why he decided to change the name of the dump!!!! Please stay away from this place! It is a SCAM! read more
