    Vegan breakfast sandwich

Sleepyhead Coffee on the corner of Main and Dodds is just one of the places which you wish had opened shop years ago, but are so glad it's available now. The space is bright, fun and full of light -- wonderful to meet a friend and catch up on life. Also, parking is gloriously available! The staff is very attentive and welcomed questions about the menu and drink selection. Highly recommend the donuts and other menu items-- did we mention it's vegan too?! If you're looking for a new addition (or replacement) for your coffee fixation .. visit Sleepyhead .. SOON!

So, continuing with my coffee shop tour, I opted to visit the southside location as opposed to the downtown, as I needed to be in that area. Shop is in an old building, love that kind of feel and the aroma from their bakery operation smacks you immediately upon opening the door. It was so hard to resist, but I was here for the coffee I reminded myself. Looks like a neighborhood fave, has a different feel from the shops in the adjacent Highland Park neighborhood. Staff seemed focused on getting their pastries together as opposed to engaging with the customers, other than the perfunctory "hello, be right with you" when I stepped up to the counter. I wish they had done a better job identifying their special seasonal brews, as I missed them completely. Good experience, not great, but I probably should give those pastries a try sometime. Sorry, no pic of my coffee, they served me in a to go cup. I hate that! When a guest is staying, encourage them to drink from one of those lovely mugs you have sitting on the espresso machine.

Stopped in here on a recommendation from a friend for a caffeine boost, but was drawn in by the fun decor and great service. The café has a comfortable, eclectic energy that is very inviting. I tried a Vanilla Oat Latte and the Breakfast Quesadilla- both were delicious!! The menu of speciality pastries and drinks will definitely have me visiting again.

LOVE. THIS. PLACE!!!!! First time trying this location & it does not disappoint. The barista, who was just a ray of sunshine, explained the menu and recommended the slushes. Immediately brought us samples - 1 chai slush and 1 cold brew. I'm not a big chai fan, but that chai slush was to dieeee for! It doesn't have enough caffeine so I said even though I loved it I was going to order the cold brew, but they recommended I do 1/2 & 1/2 - life changing. Lots of places to sit and hangout, didn't get a pastry this time but from past experiences I know they're delightful. Don't sleep on sleepyhead!!!

Very cute cafe! Loved the decoration and overall vibe. Staff was very friendly and offered suggestions for my first time. The drinks were very refreshing and I loved the creativity with a lavender matcha lemonade. Perfect for a summer day

coffee was good and i love the ambiance. it's my new favorite study spot in chatt! a lot of the food is gluten-free and the donut i tried was not very good. it was really dense and grainy and had an odd flavor. would still come back for drinks and to study though!

Very cute coffee shop. Not the same menu as the one downtown. Service was great. Got a non alcoholic Sweet and spicy margarita to go. Tasted great! Was kinda bummed they didn't have more options for N/A drinks. I also wish they stayed open later.

Since it was our first visit and everything on the menu spoke to us, she helped steer us in the right direction. I ended up ordering the pistachio croissant, and honestly... I'd go back for that alone. It was warm, huge by croissant standards, and absolutely heavenly. I even grabbed another one to take home because Future Me deserved a little happiness too. We also tried the raspberry lemon danish, which was a delicious combo, but the pistachio croissant stole the show without breaking a sweat. We started with the poutine, and while it wasn't the traditional version I've had before, it was incredible. Instead of cheese curds blocks, it came with pulled pork and melted cheese, and somehow it just worked. Comfort food with a little Southern flair. For breakfast, we had the ham and cheese omelet with breakfast potatoes. It was exactly what you want it to be--classic, satisfying, and impossible to regret if that's your usual order. I also tried the Liquid Gold juice. Their juice selection is impressive, but I may have accidentally found my forever order on the first try. It was so refreshing, with just a hint of ginger. For a hot drink, I highly recommend the London fog. I'm not usually a tea fan but if you don't want coffee, this is an excellent option. Before we left, we picked up some of their salted caramels to go, and they make the perfect little gift... assuming you have enough self-control not to eat them all in the car. The vibe here is upscale southern diner. One of the signs on the wall said, "All are welcome, but you need to act right," and honestly, that's the kind of life advice we could all use. I also really appreciated that parking was free. In Chattanooga these days it's hard finding a place where you don't have to scan a QR code, download an app, and pay to park just to eat. Great food, great atmosphere, great service. Milk & Honey is absolutely worth a visit...and if you're debating the pistachio croissant, stop debating and just order it. Your only regret will be not getting a second one.

Now for the most important part of this review. While enjoying brunch, I witnessed something I never expected to see: a baby goat riding around the restaurant in a pet stroller. At that moment, I realized Chattanooga may be one of the most pet-friendly places I've ever visited. Between the great food, kind staff, and unforgettable people-watching opportunities, Milk & Honey ended up being one of our favorite brunch stops of the trip. Dogba's verdict: Excellent brunch, friendly service, comfortable carrier dining, and unexpected goat encounters. Five paws !

We didn't know and went straight to outdoor seating, which worked out because we got a table and about a minute later we figured out the ordering process. I ordered the chicken salad croissant for my wife, then the California club for myself and then I had to order quiche Lorraine for the table. I had filtered tap water for my drink and my wife had a can of Diet Coke with a slice of lemon and ice in a cup, provided. Service was pretty quick, between our order placement and table delivery it was 7 minutes. The quiche was custardy inside with a delicious hint of caramelized shallots to go with the bacon and cheese/egg filling. The bacon did not overwhelm. The crust was perfectly baked and a nice flakey crust. The accompanying arugula and onion salad dresses with oil and vinegar and seasonings was an excellent pairing of freshness with the richer quiche. This is a big hit, as expected when advertised on the menu as "available until sold out." The California Club was on 6 grain toasted bread with an avocado spread and aioli, bacon, turkey, tomato and lettuce. I really liked the balance of each component in this sandwich, such that nothing dominated the flavors and each distinctive was individually identifiable in the contribution to the whole sandwich. The portion was just right. The chicken salad was also good, but was the bronze medal winner compared to the other two. The croissant was flaky, but not too much. The chicken salad had just a hint of lemon and was not overwhelmed with aioli, just the right balance. This was a fantastic meal. We liked this so much, we chose to buy two loaves of bread to go, a Chattanooga Sourdough and a garlic Parmesan and also a 5 lb bag of in house ground bread flour. I need one of these in Greenville, SC, my hometown. Last thing to note, you bus your own table and there is a dish basin nearby the outside dining area in which to place your dishes. This was an excellent lunch spot. The staff were also friendly and patiently helpful. This is a must visit spot when visiting or living in Chattanooga!
