Great food, and good service. Chicken was spicy as ordered and rice and bread were great.

Stopped here with my Wife while driving from Bakersfield to Sacramento. Some of the Yelp Reviews said this place had Vegan Options and since we both love Indian Food, we decided to check it out. Long story short, this is a great place to eat! First, as we were being seated, the greeter asked if we preferred Regular or Garlic Naan because they bake a fresh order for each table. It was warm, soft and yummy! All the Buffet dishes we tried were fresh and very flavorful and I really liked the way they clearly shown which dishes were Vegan (see photos). We had Lentil Soup, Indian Salad with Mango Dressing, Fresh Greens from the House Salad, Basmati Rice, Vegatable Pakoras, Aloo Gobi and Garlic Naan. None of the dishes were overly spicy and the silverware was spotless. The Water tested 116 (not bad) on our TDS meter. Finally, the Service was excellant during a busy lunch hour and we will definitely stop here on our way back. read more

We went to this restaurant for dinner on a weeknight. We were seated promptly and the restaurant was about half full. The server took our drinks and food order soon after we were seated. The drinks came out within 10 minutes but the food took another 70 minutes. At that point we were very frustrated and the server never came and gave us any updates on how much longer or why it was taking so long. After the food came out we were still missing the appetizer which came another 10 minutes later. By this time we were almost half way done with our food and didn't even want the appetizer. There was no sauce/chutney with the appetizers and upon asking it took another 5 minutes for it to come out. The food was OK and nothing great. Chicken tikka masala had good flavor but was cold, Saag paneer did not have much flavor, seekh kabob was dry, shrimp biryani was OK, shrimp masala was good, naan was good and rice were good. We finally paid our check and left the restaurant 2.5 hours after we were initially seated. I will never go back to this place again. read more

The food was good but the service was lacking and they weren't even busy. It took too long for them to take our order and once we got our food they didn't check on us. I had to get up to ask for napkins and again to ask for the bill. We ordered medium spice. It was pretty spicy but it was good. We'll be back to give them another try. read more

Ordered the tandoori chicken and garlic naan for lunch and it was soo good!! I got the chicken spicy and it was the perfect amount of spice! Also, tons of bell pepper and onion a which was great - my husband was so nervous to try Indian food, but he tried this and wished he had gotten his own plate! The garlic naan was delicious as well and would recommend to split - the portions a huge! Would definitely recommend the tandoori chicken and the garlic naan - will be back again! read more

Rude staff. Went in to ask if they were still doing all you can eat because I saw in a recent post that their menu still advertised it. The man I spoke with aggressively questioned me by saying, "why do you come in here with your nose and mouth covered and look for all you can eat? Tell me why!" I came in with a mask on so he was trying to make me feel dumb for wanting to get all you can eat but he wasn't even wearing a mask himself! I don't understand his logic but he was incredibly rude about the whole situation. read more

AMAZING!! Everything was incredible from the food to the staff! My husband and I stopped in for a late lunch around 2pm. We ordered garlic naan, butter chicken and the chefs choice chicken curry. Everything was beautiful and colorful, and tasted great! All of what we ordered was bursting with flavors! High quality meats, rice and sauces. They close briefly from 2:45 until 4:30 but they assured us we didn't need to rush and we could stay and enjoy our food which was so kind! We will DEFINITELY be back soon!!! read more

This is hands down my favorite spot for Indian food. I've been to many other places and I find myself coming back here. We always get just the butter chicken and chicken tikka masala along with garlic naan. The curries are a little on the thicker side, which I love because it just hugs onto the garlic naan or basmati rice. It's soo flavorful and delicious, even my 2 year old nephew loves it. I can't get enough of this place. Definitely give it a try. Some people are skeptical because of the strong scent of Indian spices but the meal made from it is soo amazingly good. read more

Slice of India is one of my favorite lunch spots in Fresno! They have a lunch buffet deal for $10.99 which includes garlic naan and you can get as many serving as you desire! I love their tandoori chicken and chicken makhni the most. The food is fresh and I never leave with a stomach ache like I sometimes do from Indian food! Also the staff is really kind here and there's tons of parking because it's located in a plaza! Tip: go fo lunch when you're really hungry and get a mango lassi and garlic naan! read more

The food is good, in fact, I loved this place. But one evening while we were sitting at a table. A cockroach scurried up the wall as we were waiting for our takeout dinner. Roaches don't like light so I'd have to assume this place is probably infested. As we notified the staff, to I don't know at the very least to kill it.. the guy who takes orders, moving like a sloth with a rag seemed confused as why we were concerned. This restaurant is a MUST VISIT if you are an Indian food connoisseur. The many traditional Indian dishes are offered on their menu, as well as the culinary delights that are made in the traditional tandoori oven. The chicken marsala is a definite favorite as well as the tandoori chicken. Also, try their garlic naan bread! Super delicious! You literally can't go wrong with anything on their menu. Teema, the owner, is the head chef and his family supports him by running the restaurant. All very friendly people and a super delight to have them here in Clovis. Didn't know this place existed here on Willow and Nees. My wife and I came here for a lunch buffet but did a take out buffet instead. The food here is fresh and delicious. Service is also excellent. We have always enjoyed Slice of India but this last time ... not so much. I called in to pick up an order. I was told what time to pick it up and I arrived five minutes past that time. My food was not ready. I asked when they thought it might be ready as I had brought my dogs in the car with me. I was told, "We are very busy." They tried to get me to pay for my order even though I didn't have any food. I didn't want to do that in case I had to wait too long which seemed to upset the man. He came over in a heated voice to the woman who was helping me. The man next to me kind of made a face and said, "I think they are busy" to which I replied, "I'd be fine if they said 45 minutes or an hour...but don't tell me a time that you know you can't have the food by." I went and sat in my car for another 15 minutes. When I went back in it was ALMOST ready. They also did not have one of the items I ordered and I didn't find that out until I was ready to leave so needless to say, I didn't get one of the meals I needed for our dinner and I did not want to start a new order considering how long it was taking. The food was good, but not like we are used to. WAY too spicy. We ordered mild and could not eat the meal without something to lessen the blow like naan and rice. We'll come back again and hope for better next time. read more

I had never tried Indian food until a few months ago and now I'm obsessed!! This place is amazing, authentic and is my go-to Indian restaurant. I've eaten here a handful of times and the food always has been fresh and full of amazing flavors I've never tried before. Something I appreciate about this restaurant is how their meatless menu items are labeled vegan or lacto-ovo vegetarian. It makes it super easy and convenient to order something if you are following one of those diets. Some recommendations: try the mango saffron ice cream (it's home made ) and the kabuli kulcha naan (stuffed with cherries, coconut, nuts and fennel seeds). read more

Great place for Fresno. The spot did not live up to a five star rating, but has many redeeming qualities and for the central part of the state, is darn good Indian food! A colleague of mine recommended this place and so I gave it a try. I had Dahl, Lamb vindaloo, and garlic nan .. all complemented by a Taj beer. The vindaloo sauce was perfect; however, they cook the lamb separately and to order, so the meat itself was not flavored by the curry or tender as it usually is. The nan was a little bit too crispy for my taste, and not bready enough. The dal was great, but I don't know why they served as soup instead of the thicker lentils dish I am used to. The server was wonderful, cheerful and accommodating. I was disappointed though when I asked for fennel seeds that they had none :-( she said they were out. One tip on ordering food is that the spicy scale is a reasonable one. I have been to other Indian restaurants where if I order something spicy it is barely edible. Here spicy is just perfect and not nuclear! The cost was pricey for the neighborhood. The meal described above cost more than $30 with tip. read more
