I was excited to see Slice-Montevallo finally open. My nephew and I went on a Wednesday evening. We were offered to sit inside or the patio and chose the patio that has a few TVs to enjoy while dining. On this trip we went with slices only of cheese and pepperoni. The slices were a nice size and filling. The crust was not too thick with a nice amount of quality sauce. We were provide good customer service by Leila M. We chose Slice because some of our party like pizza but need gluten-free or dairy-free/vegan options. I'll be honest; I am usually okay with some of the chain pizza places, but I'm not against trying something new. I checked out the menu ahead of time, but I was also very glad to see a lunch special of a slice with a salad for $12, which is $1 off the a la carte prices for the same items. I got a slice of cheese and a Basic salad without croutons. I can't say I was impressed with the pizza; didn't seem like a lot of cheese on it. The salad was impressive, though. Generous portion; fresh ingredients; bacon bits were very good. Fair warning, though, for my GF/Vegan friends. You will do much better to try to modify one of the specialty pizzas on the menu with your GF crust and vegan cheese since there is already an upcharge for those. If you try to build-your-own with GF crust and vegan cheese, you can very quickly end up with a $30+ pizza. read more

I thought I ordered a whole pizza but they only gave one slice, it took them nearly 15 minutes to cook it and it ended up being burnt. If you want pizza then go to the pizza hut or the domino's down the street. read more

Pizza. Of course it's pizza. In Montevallo dropping our daughter off for the fall semester and we stopped by to try this local pizza place. The set up is a little different. They have two dining areas separated by a parking lot. Good on them for being creative. We ordered the tator tots as an appetizer and they were NOT what we expected. Only six tots came out. 6. Buuuuut, they were the size of jumbo marshmallows and perfectly fried. They had cheese and bacon inside the tot. Inside. The tot!!! Drizzled with a homemade sauce these initially surprising tots amazed us with their taste. Maybe a little pricey for 6 tots, 8 or 9 would be perfect, but they tasted great. We ordered the perfect pepperoni pizza and it was indeed very close to perfect. Great crust cooked on a fire oven. Great blend of cheese and large pepperoni. Top notch pizza all the way. Slice pizza is a must stop if you are in Montevallo and want casual and classy. Right from the start the service staff were attentive. The outdoor patio seating was quaint and perfect for a gourmet pizza joint. One pizza 14inch was more than enough for two. We choose a uniquely Alabama pizza - the Soul Pie. Had my doubts but my hubby is always adventurous with his pie. It was delicous! Who would have thought white sauce, turnip greens, black eyed peas, parmesan, garlic, more chees, and a sasuage unique to Alabama would make such a delicious pizza pie. Slice Montevallo is not the same as Slice off 459. Although same brand the service, location and food are less than the other locations. This location has a decent indoor area to be served but it's not like a typical restaurant. Was clean. The pizza is better than chains. It's just at a premium price you expect a premium experience in food quality and such. Maybe it's just the style to go light on sauce cheese and toppings. Still a nice place to get food from, every so often. read more

Montevallo Slice was great when it [finally] first opened, years delayed. We ordered it often, finding delivery options locally to be inedible both in prep and ingredients. The last 4 orders from Slice ranging throughout 2024 and now Jan 2025, we have found hair in our pizza, have paid $$$ for a specialty pizza missing 4+ ingredients (twice), and a Margherita pizza so bitter (and with basil baked onto the pizza...supposed to be fresh basil on pizza post-oven) it's difficult to stomach. The quality control is on par with that of the local delivery places, but for $60+ for 3 shoddy pies instead of $25. Sadly, i'll have to save my pizza endeavors for special occasions at Pizza Grace during our rare visit downtown. read more

A centerpiece in the city and great space for big parties. For some reason the pizza is not as good as there other locations . It's was a little soggy and lacking flavor. We got there and sat outside the lady was started getting an attitude when we asked for 2 build your own pizzas I went through the order best I could but when the pizzas were brought out on was right but it was burnt and the second was completely wrong and burnt we had also gotten cheese bread and it tasted like it had WAY to much salt and pepper it was so over powering u had to use a lot of sauce to block it out and there were even things on the pizza we didn't ask for?? Doesn't make sense to me how you mess up so bad there was not that many people there but also now that many workers but $75 for 2 wrong and burnt pizzas and some horrible cheese bread is not worth it. Wonderful pizza place with a fun, dynamic bar where you can watch the pizza being made! Bartender was just what you would want--friendly and knowledgeable! We had the lettuce wedge salads , and they were delicious ( so large that next time, we will split one). Hubby chose the meat pizza. It was hot, thin crust with just the right amount of burned crust. Unique place with a physically separated indoor dining area, apart from the patio dining and the kitchen, etc. We ate inside because it was a little warm and we wanted some AC. The servers we met when we first arrived were extremely friendly and helpful. Jade was our server and she had great suggestions for appetizers. We got two appetizers and one pizza. The Fire Baked Wings Appetizer was amazing. You just have to try it. The Tater Tots come stuffed with bacon and cheddar and are topped with delicious sauce. You just have to try them. The main course was BBQ Brisket & Chicken Pizza. It too was soo good. Can't wait 'til it gets a tad bit cooler to try sitting on the patio. It's a "must try" if you're ever in Montevallo! read more

I expect the pizza was probably great, BUT we never got to try it because the service was so poor. We waited over 45 mins for our appetizer and when asked what was taking so long it was that they had a lot of orders put in. However, the table behind us had arrived after us and were already done eating and were leaving. We left hungry because of poor management, which btw never approached our table.
