Jay special chicken sandwich
Pranathi B.

This place was right in the complex where we stopped for gas on a road trip. We were searching for a snack and I couldn't believe my luck that I found this place so easily. Place is small, cafe style with around 5 tables. Menu is a mix of sandwiches, Indianized sandwiches, bowls and biryani. We decided to stick to the sandwiches and ordered their special sandwich with chicken and avocados and one chicken tikka masala sandwich. They used very less salt and I didn't find any cheese in the sandwich so I can see why this is healthy. But the chicken avocado was flavorless in my opinion. Without much salt it just fell flat. The chicken tikka sandwich on the other hand was mildly spiced with very less salt as well, the sandwich didn't have anything other than the curry so it kind of got a tad bit tiring towards the end. Props to them for attempting a healthier take on some of these dishes but my taste buds were seeking a bit more.

Customer service is a delight. Some organic options but the things that aren't are made in store (pesto is organic, quinoa is organic). Offers lettuce and cucumber wraps for all the sandwhiches, super flexible on requests. Perfect for low carb healthy eaters!

Yummy! Not your avg. tuna melt. Made with homemade sweet chili sauce
Mille C.

3.25 stars Loved, loved, loved the tuna melt. Usually not a big fan of mayo based salads. People often add too much mayo. I prefer tuna salad with just enough mayo to bind the salad ingredients. Slow G's tuna salad sandwich was yummy. Adding sweet chili sauce changed the flavor profile. Toasting it and making it a melt took it over the top. Unfortunately, the next 2 sandwiches weren't as yummy. The cold turkey sandwich was dry. I think the turkey breast was roasted in-house. It needed a sauce or spread for moisture. Even the creamy avocado slices couldn't save it. Actually took the leftovers home and slathered on ligonberry sauce (didn't have cranberry) and cream cheese. Much better. The rainbow veggie sandwich had potential but tasted bland to me. The pesto and hummus needed some kick. The raw veggies needed seasoning. Didn't like the grainy texture of the cheese. Not giving up. Can't wait to come back and try the curry chicken salad and chicken tikka sandwiches everyone's raving about.

The Egg toast. (Donut in background simply provided for scale. )

Next to Smart and Final, tucked behind Taco Bell and the Donut Shop is this hidden gem. I have passed it a dozen times but noted that they were highly rated in The Infatuation for their breakfast sandwich. The review was not wrong. It's top notch. Remarkably, it's vegetarian. Japanese rolled omelette. lettuce, tomato, avocado. I am a carnivore. I was very impressed. Slight touch of indian spice. Proprietor was friendly and focused. Lots of nice choices. Simple clean interior. Only drawback, no bathroom. Suggest ordering ahead https://www.slowgeatery.com/

Stopped by this cozy sandwich spot on our way to Sam's club (coming from SJ). We were greeted warmly assuming by the shop owner. There's a vast selection of sandwiches and salad we didn't know what to choose. Eventually we settled with the chicken pesto sandwich and the tuna quinoa salad. - chicken pesto sandwich - before we settled on this sandwich the owner did warn us that it was going to be more bland compared to his other sandwiches since it is a healthier option. He recommended the chicken bruschetta which has more flavor. However, since we are on a stricter diet, we ended up with the chicken pesto. The sandwich was still good despite being bland. The pesto wasn't overpowering and it felt very light to eat. Definitely would recommend this sandwich if you're on a diet and need something clean. -tuna quinoa salad - VERYY filling. I ended up not finishing my half of the plate because I still had an untouched sandwich that I still had to eat. The quinoa really fills you up and it's not one of those dry grainy textured ones. It was soft to the touch and paired very well with the tuna. The tuna was not a strong tuna flavor which balanced the salad very well. Overall, we would definitely come back whenever we decide to go back to this area! It seemed liked every customer knew the owner which brought a smile to our face because it show how connected everyone is in this area. :)

They were featured in the East Bay Times in the Food and Drink section for the best breakfast sandos. We actually went to try out their sandwiches and salads and they did not disappoint. They do take at least 10-15 min to make your sandwiches so keep that in mind when ordering. I had the Diablo Salad and added chicken for an extra $6. It's a large salad with enough veggies and protein. On top, they put flax seed chips. It was very filling and it was enough for 2 meals. Would come back if in the area!

Biryani with Chicken

I don't know why I keep reviewing this place because clearly I love it but I must reiterate how consistently delicious, fresh, and special this restaurant is! From the kind staff to the flavorful edamame pesto sandwich, you can't go wrong here. Today, I also tried the spicy chicken sandwich and chicken bruschetta sandwich (both bangers).

Superfood Tuna salad

Slow G's is our go-to for a healthy lunch or road trip takeout. The selection of sandwiches and loaded salads is fantastic. All their proteins and sauces are freshly made in-house. All the ingredients are of the best quality and freshness. Try their pork or beef J's sandwich or a superfood Tuna salad. Treat yourself to a delicious cookie as well. The owners are the nicest people as well!

This is the Jay Special with Pork. This is one of the best sandwiches I have ever had. The hospitality was great and they even gave us a free cookie, but the sandwich was so light and so tasty and the meat was great quality and they gave us a snickerdoodle cookie for free and it was one of the best snickerdoodle cookies I've ever had. I really recommend this place. You should come and try it out

I walked in and was immediately greeted by a young lady behind the counter. I decided to try a variety of cookies on display in the case. From the moment you step inside, there is an unmistakable warmth to the space not just from the ovens but from the overall vibe. It is bright, upbeat, and welcoming in a way that immediately puts you at ease and sets the tone for a great experience. We started with the Pop Tarts which deserve special recognition. These are not novelty pastries. They are elevated, flaky, buttery, and packed with flavor. The kind of treat that makes you pause mid bite and immediately realize this place takes its craft seriously. The breakfast burrito was equally impressive. Hearty, well balanced, and comforting without being heavy, it was clearly made with intention and quality ingredients rather than shortcuts. The waffles with blueberries and whipped cream were outstanding. Crisp on the outside and soft and airy on the inside, with fresh blueberries that added brightness and a whipped cream that felt light and indulgent rather than overly sweet. It was the kind of dish that manages to feel nostalgic and refined at the same time. Then came the pastries. Any attempt at restraint disappeared quickly. Everything in the case looked incredible and after tasting the first few items it became obvious that passing on anything would have been a mistake. We ended up buying far more pastries than planned simply because the quality across the board was that high. There were no weak links. What truly elevates Life Is Sweet beyond excellent food is the energy of the place. There is a positivity that fills the room and it is completely effortless. It makes you want to slow down, sit longer, and enjoy where you are. Whether you are stopping in for a quick breakfast or lingering with coffee and conversation, the environment naturally lifts your mood. Life Is Sweet is not just a bakery or breakfast spot. It is a place that genuinely enhances your day. The food is exceptional, the atmosphere is inviting, and the experience stays with you well after you leave. This is a must visit in Danville and the kind of place you will find yourself thinking about long after the last pastry is gone.

I am vegetarian and have eaten at many vegetarian restaurants over the years. I would confidently say that Blossom and Root is the best vegetarian restaurant in the Bay Area and it may be my favorite restaurant hands down. Food: Key to a great restaurant is consistency. The food and dishes are consistently great at Blossom and Root over many visits. I have tried the Smash burger, yellow curry, Mediterranean bowl, french toast, pancakes, chilaquiles, breakfast burrito and several other dishes. Yellow curry is my hands down favorite but honestly no dish has ever disappointed. Every dish is always very freshly prepared. You can tell. They have a kids menu as well. Kids will also love the "experience" of the Butterfly bubbles drink! Just try it! Ambiance: Cute restaurant with a modern craftsmen kitchen feel. It was about 1/4 cup quinoa and millet and more tangerine oranges than grains. Look at the difference of portion sizes from our experience vs Yelp photos. I felt this was inadequate and asked for more grains. I got a 1/2 cup of extra quinoa (only). Tofu scramble and pancakes (adult and kid versions) were good. The server tried to insinuate that the adult pancakes weren't enough, but they were more than enough. We also ordered one orange juice for a child (paper cup with a copper straw jammed through the opening) and hot tea. Honest review, it was overpriced and moderately good. I would not return; quality and value for 3 adults and 1 child was not worth $100+ including tip. Hope they consider my feedback to improve; this place has great potential.

Also the cheesy mash was not mixed thoroughly and had a bland taste, there were chunks of hard potatoes mixed in. The garlic bread was hard.
