The owner was super friendly and helpful! He recommended the customer favorite, Chicken Tikka Sandwich, which was one of the best and most unique sandwiches I have ever had! Place is small, cafe style with around 5 tables. Menu is a mix of sandwiches, Indianized sandwiches, bowls and biryani. We decided to stick to the sandwiches and ordered their special sandwich with chicken and avocados and one chicken tikka masala sandwich. They used very less salt and I didn't find any cheese in the sandwich so I can see why this is healthy. But the chicken avocado was flavorless in my opinion. Without much salt it just fell flat. The chicken tikka sandwich on the other hand was mildly spiced with very less salt as well, the sandwich didn't have anything other than the curry so it kind of got a tad bit tiring towards the end. Slow G's tuna salad sandwich was yummy. Adding sweet chili sauce changed the flavor profile. Toasting it and making it a melt took it over the top. Unfortunately, the next 2 sandwiches weren't as yummy. The cold turkey sandwich was dry. I think the turkey breast was roasted in-house. It needed a sauce or spread for moisture. Even the creamy avocado slices couldn't save it. Actually took the leftovers home and slathered on ligonberry sauce (didn't have cranberry) and cream cheese. Much better. Well, this was my first time at Sow G's. Honestly, I learned about this restaurant as I was walking my dog at a park in Danville. The Lady named Lisa kept telling a friend and I how great the food was and urged us to try it. It is on Diablo street to the right of Smart & Final. I have been to the strip hundreds of times but never noticed Slow G's. I guess the name comes from the method they use to cook their food slow on low heat!!!! I love Indian food and the menu had some Indian fusion type sandwich and meals. I ordered the Chicken Tikka sandwich. It is like Chicken Tikka Masala in a sandwich. In short, it was outstanding. I was there at 12:30PM and it is now 6:47PM and I can still taste it. The spices and flavor just exploded in my mouth. The bread was very unique and it was something new as I had never had such bread. See the photo so that you can appreciate what I am taking about. Also, after I ordered my sandwich, I struck a conversation with the young man behind the cash register. He was very friendly and told me about the restaurant and the food. He said next time I go there I should try their spicy Biriyani. I assure you that I will and very soon. I'm in this marketplace in Danville quite often. After all, my barbershop is there and Smart & Final, and they are my regular stops.
