I was recently told I have high cholesterol so I'm trying to substitute when the option is available to me. I made the order online for pickup and sadly spent 20 minutes trying to figure out how to charge my car with blink as I usually use ChargePoint. The food was ready very quickly by the time I had parked so I expected it to be cold, but my burrito was still warm when I got there! There were 3 other groups dining when I got there, and most people doing to go orders. I got the steak asada burrito for its high protein content. I would say it's 10/10 for value but maybe 7/10 for flavor, definitely needs the hot sauces. I ate half of the burrito, and as I was finishing the last part where it's mostly just the tortilla it fell out of my hands. Staff came over immediately and asked if I wanted them to make me another taco hahaha. I appreciate it but there really wasn't too much left anyway. Super friendly workers, cheap and easy spot!! Where the self serving drinks are you should definitely try their strawberry lemonade it's 100% fresh and there's also different types of salsa in that area I really enjoyed trying them all. Although I wasn't a fan of the vegan steak I was trying to order more fish tacos but the manager I believe noticed something was wrong and gave me tacos of my choice since the vegan steak meal was expensive. I was searching for vegan food on Google maps and I came across Mas Veggies Vegan Taqueria. Haven't been, decided this is where I was going but SURPRISE! it's actually Veggie Grill. Parked in a nearby parking garage and there's several options at Santana Row. I walked towards the address, looked for Mas Veggies and found that it was Veggie Grill. Entered and had to use the restroom and was stopped because I wasn't a buying customer yet. So I explained I was going to use the restroom and then order. He was fine with it and that's what I did. Ordered and paid at a self service computer on the counter-- but you could order with a live person as well. Took a number and took it to a table. My order was brought to me. The guy even asked if I'd like a water cup. That was observant, thoughtful and nice. I had tacos and chik'n tenders. I've had the chik'n tenders before at a different location and this time was memorable-- better than I remember, would have again for sure. Tacos were good but if they weren't on the menu anymore, I wouldn't miss it. I did try to get one of the superfood smoothies and the very one I wanted was out. Of course. We were so excited when this Veggie Grill opened more than a decade ago (2012?), in part because I'm a lifelong vegetarian. At first the food was generally excellent and we enjoyed eating here frequently. Over time, sadly, this began to change. One of the low points occurred in May 2016 when a dead fly dropped out of my "Grilled Quinoa + Veg Burger" (see previously uploaded photo) as I was biting into it. We periodically returned, hoping that things would change for the better. Though there have been ups along with the downs, the general trend unfortunately has been in a definite downward direction. When we gave the restaurant another try yesterday, the avocado pieces on our tasteless kale salad were highly oxidized (dark spots prominently visible, as illustrated in the attached image). The tacos were soggy and the lettuce inside was wilted. The fries were dried out from being overcooked. Sorry to report that this was one of the most pathetic meals we've experienced at this restaurant--or any other, for that matter. Oh, well: at least there were no dead flies in our food. This is probably the last time we'll ever eat here. On a positive note, the guy at the cash register who took our order and brought the "food" to our table was very pleasant. We tipped him well. I was expecting sauces to mix in separately on the side, but I may had to specify that I didn't want my sauces mixed into the whole bowl already. I did an online pick up order and ran in to get it. There really isn't a quick 5 minute grab and go parking area since this is located literally in the center square with a bunch of other restaurants.
