    Caprese Salad

The food was phenomenal, best Italian food I've had in a long time. I didn't try their pasta but I will next time. Their service was very fast and staff are friendly, prices were not outrageous like some places are, and this restaurant really gives the family owned style business which makes it so much better. Definitely recommend!

    Church crew with me.

First and foremost, I have to admit that I did not think Slices Pizza would not last long, not because of anything to do with their food, but the fact their location has gone through many business changes and Slices Pizza (which I will shorthand to SP for the remainder of the review) was the location's current... well... identity. Maybe the biggest reason why SP, or the location SP is at, is often passed by is how entering and exiting the strip mall is setup. You have to drive all the way to the other end of the strip mall to enter and exit despite SP being on the other end of the strip mall with no entrance/exit of their own. I would have passed SP if it weren't for my church's decision to eat here for lunch after service. Ergo, this is my first time eating here, and I hope it won't be my last. What I got was very good, but compared to other Italian and/or pizzerias, I have to rate them on the high-end of average. As I always say, I compare American pizza to American pizza in accordance to location. If I really wanted to be a stickler, almost ALL American pizza - which includes the BIG3 (New York, Chicago, Detroit) - would be severely lacking compared to traditional Italian pizza that I have eaten from Italy. But as an American slice, what SP serves is on average, but like I said, high-end. I ordered the margherita and caprese pizzas and they were cooked well in their brick-style oven and served conditionally well. However, there are many pizza places that have the same expertise and deliver the same quality. With that in mind, SP is good, but just as good as the "common good" pizzeria. To me, they don't have the standout as Genna or Pizza Gallery. The garlic knots, well, they were good, too. Can't really mess up garlic knots unless you really try to. And to top it off, the restaurant had the overarching themes of a typical New York style Italian restaurant (Italian flags, checkered tableclothes, etc.) and the staff was both helpful and friendly. Restrooms, at least the men's restroom, was clean, too. Ultimately, I would return here if I happen to want pizza and be nearby, but I am not driving out of the way to eat here. Like I said, SP is not bad, but they are a dime a dozen thus far. Maybe my review will update when I try their classic Italian dishes, but as of now, I am simply saying they are good, and if you choose to eat here at least for the pizza, you wouldn't do anything wrong choosing them. If SP's food stands out from other Italian restaurants, then I might consider improving the rating. However, if they remain good on averge across the board, they'll get another star if they are at least consistent.

Large stromboli around $20 fed me for 3 days of lunches

Great breakfast and everything else! Been here twice for breakfast and once for lunch (pictured) Stromboli was excellent and HUGE. Leftovers lasted me for 3 days of lunches. Pizza and other dishes very good. The breakfasts are very well priced and also tasty. They had a variety of the usual omelets, meats, eggs, and pancakes. Service was consistently friendly and efficient. Ambiance was New Yorkish and fit the food. Give them a try!

Hopefully a fluke, worse vegetarian pizza I've ever had. Little to no sauce, temp not even luke warm. Disappointed 1st time customer.

Hopefully a fluke! Worse slice I've ever had... Vegetarian pizza not even like warm, little to no sauce, not good at all. Disappointed 1st time customer.

    Capers Salad

I had the chicken Caesar salad and the flavor was astounding! It was the same price as the one at Yellow Dog Cafe. It was 4x the size, tastier and just as lovely to look at. I had the salads one day after the other. I prefer the salad at Slices.

I saw a sign that they have a new owner and they are having a Grand Opening. I'd love to go. Anyone know the date?

New owner - yes! They're open. I ate there last Sunday with a group - absolutely fantastic, I will put them on my 'regular' list!

*INITIAL REVIEW* I…read morewas leaving Pau Hana Kava Bar to continue my kava bar sprint northbound on Wickham Rd., but it was lunchtime and I was hankering some food. Mimmo's Pizza and Ristorante (which I will shorthand it to Mimmo's) was always on my "to go" list ever since many of them replaced many Bizzaro's Pizzarias (Two "Z's," not one). This was a good time to actually try Mimmo's, right? I mean, why not? First and foremost, this restaruant used to be Sweet Tomatoes, not associated to the awesome salad buffet in Orlando. On the outside, the restaurant looks like any other restaurant that takes over this kind of building. Inside, it definitely has the Italian home vibes. Think of red and white checkerboard table clothes, Italian flags, wine bottle holders and the like. If you ever been to any Italian restaurant, especially one that utilizes the "family tradition" or "mom n' pop" feel, then you already know the menu. Pizza slices, garlic knots, and Italian dinners such as spaghetti, parmesian, and ziti... guaranteed to be baked in a stone oven. I did not know the pizza slices were large, and I ended up getting two. I ate parts of both and I will say they are a-okay. They don't stand out, but they are good. Wouldn't mind eating these kinds of slices again. Pricewise, the food is average across the board even if you compare it to other Italian restaurants of this same ilk. Not saying it is good or bad, just not really a standout. Not below average. Just... average. On a sidenote, the service was decently kind and the restroom, well the men's restroom, was clean and stocked. Ergo, I am going to give this Mimmo's three-out-of-five stars. Average across the board, which doesn't mean it is bad nor good... just is. This means I will not purposely seek out this Mimmo's if I am ever hankering Italian food, but if I am hankering such food and this Mimmo's happens to be convenient, I wouldn't mind eating here. Just not expecting anything more or less than what I got.

I got the lasagna with italian wedding soup to start. Neither were great, but scratched the itch. I would come back to try other items, but I think I'll pass on the lasagna.

I've never been to this restaurant before at this specific location, but I can see why everyone picked it As is to be expected different people arrived at different times, but we were all able to sit comfortably in a group and the weight staff accommodated our amount of guests by exhibiting adaptability and patience I personally enjoyed a classic cheeseburger with a double patty and a side of steamed vegetables. Not only is this place military friendly but the quality and quantity of food I got at that price point doesn't feel like it can be beat. I will say that I glanced over at the Pizookie which looks fantastic and saw a drink with a duck in it that is going to ensure the next time I come by I try it as well Sharon was our waitress and she did a fantastic job making sure everyone's order was on point and circling back often not only to check on our food but to refresh our drinks accordingly. Another thing I liked was that people's orders were brought out virtually close to one another despite being ordered a different times. We had a fantastic time. The place was super clean. There was plenty of parking and easy to find all in all the experience merits every last one of its five star ratings.
