I had the lobster roll. My friend had the salad. Nothing special. Not too good. Lobster was cold and the bun was basic like a hot dog bun. I asked for it to be heated. It was heated in the microwave. We had our second experience at the Slider Inn last night for National Burger Day and it was just as good as, if not better than, the first. Both my wife and I chose the Mix and Match option. I had: The Mushroom one (Can't remember it's name now) Falafel Chick-n-Fill-Ay My wife got all the same but instead of the falafel she got the "This Pork is a Jerk". We both love the mushroom one and I really liked all of mine and her Pork is a Jerk. On our last visit we also tried the Original Memphis and the Blue Cheese and Onion. The Original Memphis was just okay, and the Blue Cheese and Onion was just a bit too blue cheesy for my tastes but not too bad! Also, I'm not sure what's in the white-ish sauce that they bring out with the fries, but it's awesome! I like that so many dog owners frequent this place. We sat on the porch and there were four different dogs hanging around. The servers will bring water and treats for the pets. Overall, a great place to try some unique sliders and I'm sure that we'll be back again! read more

The patio is great. Service can be uneven, depending on how busy they are. They do allow smoking inside after 9:00 p.m., so I try to stay on the patio regardless of the time of day. The sliders and fries make more than a generous meal for one person. They do have vegan and vegetarian slider options as well as chicken. I've seen the lobster roll go by and be devoured though I've never tried it myself. I can also personally vouch for their hot wings. OUTSTANDING! I've been to this dive many times before and continue to be impressed. The food is killer good, and the flavor combinations of the sliders are always surprising. I usually get the potato salad (even though others tell me the fry sauce is wonderful). The potato salad is light and salty in flavor. I think it's mayonnaise based, but can't swear to it. The atmosphere is cozy and not too busy although I've only eaten lunch here. The waitresses mimic the midtown locale with lots of character and are always gracious. read more

Slider Inn is def IN. Sliders burgers are en fuego. Make sure you cop the mix n match so you can get a feel for what you dig. IMO the Memphis slider was the bomb dot com (can't go wrong with classic). Shoestring fries are more necessary than actual shoe strings. Dipping sauces came with the sliders; ketchup and some other sauce which was lowkey not bad. Really rockin vibes the music turns you into a burger ripping savage but the atmosphere is mad chill. I waited a day to post this, just to see if I was less angry. Guess what, I'm not. Here we go...Me and my wife got a late start. I worked all day and didn't get to eat. We got to the Slider Inn around 9:25 PM and sat on the patio at a small picnic table just big enough for 2. It was 10 minutes before a waitress even addressed us. In that time we already viewed the menu online and knew what we wanted. The waitress took our drink order and before we could tell her what we wanted to eat, she said they have a limited menu and she would be back. She then waited on two other tables and took their food order. Ten more minutes later she slapped down a paper with the limited menu. We ordered the same thing from that menu we were already trying to order the first time. The Memphis sliders and spinach artichoke dip. So now it's roughly 9:40 PM. Five minutes later we get our drinks. So we wait...AT 10:20 PM!!! the waitress tells us that they don't have any burger meat. I hit redline. You mean to tell me it took 40 minutes after we ordered for someone to realize they ran out of burgers???! Wtf?!!! I ask for a manager and she says there isn't one and then proceeds to blame Covid for the mistake. . I said just bring the check and she says "no charge for the 2 drinks". Oh gee thanks because now that you ruined our night and I sat there starving for an hour, we will have to find a restaurant kitchen still open at 10:30 at night. Oh and this isn't the first time. I don't like long Yelp reviews from people who are more interested in reading themselves write than talking about their actual experience. So, let me cut to the chase: service is A+, food is always good, music and ambience is perfect for me, and it's part of a great family of restaurants. Their sliders are phenomenal and, for you carb-conscious folks, they can serve it as a lettuce wrap. The chili and the Frito Pie are off the chain. The lobster roll is worth it. They have a delicious Sunday brunch menu with cheese grits that make me want to lick the plate. Oh, yeah, it's also a full bar. Their L.U.I. (lemonade under the influence) is made with fresh lemonade hand squeezed daily. The kitchen is open until 2am most nights. They have four HDTV's indoors for watching games and an outdoor patio with an HDTV that is heated in the winter and open when it's warmer outside. What's not to love? read more

We did a quick stop there today on the way home from a doc appointment. Wife wanted Krystal and I wanted Popeyes so we compromised by doing a mix and match sliders. I did the Buffalo chicken and she did the Triple B with an egg and the Flat Iron. Took about fifteen minutes and we ate right there in the car. Everything was piping hot. Fries perfect. Local Memphian here, been eating at Slider for years now, and it's not as good as it used to be. I will not be back. Prices went up, taste and service went down. Lobster bisque is terrible now. The server with saggy boobs blinging through her shirt needs to put a bra on, very unprofessional. She took forever to do everything and someone else had to bring our food out. Had to walk inside to get her attention to pay and leave and she said give me a minute as she was leaning against the bar. This was not an issue of under staffed or overworked, this server was lazy. So far, there was only one that I did not like. It was prepared correctly. The flavor just did not work for me. The service has always been good also. The down side is the parking. I posted a tip well before writing this review whereby I gave this place kudos for just being a really cool bar. To me that's all you really need to know...the food is not just good, but uniquely different from all the standards by focusing & specializing on one particular type (hence the name of the establishment). They have great draft beer...some of which even the nearby Young Avenue Deli can't boast...that changes regularly. The girls working there are super friendly - cool chics. The bar is tiny...in fact the entire place is small...but I really like it. Its relatively close to where I work (the airport area) so I could easily see myself becoming a regular. And if I lived in the Cooper-Young area I would definately be here WAY too much. I hope this place continues to do well and keep with the formula they are using for ambiance, waitresses, beer selection, food, etc.. it works; I wouldn't change a thing. read more

I decided to check this place out after hearing about their Jameson slushies. After having now tried them, I cannot recommend them enough! Nothing is better on a 100 degree day. I've since tried to replicate it, but I don't think it's going to happen. The service was great, our server was Elizabeth and she was friendly and quick. Like many others who've written reviews, I really wanted to like this place!! While the inside leaves a bit to be desired, even for pubs, in regard to ambiance, the patio is fantastic and perfectly situated. The food is okay, but, for me, it just seemed like three really expensive mediocre Krystal burgers. $12 was pricey but I'd pay it if they were a bit larger and better quality. And it took a realllllly long time to get the food and the check.... By far the worst part of the experience was our waiter Dawn, who smiled condescendingly to the older people at the table when they had a few too many questions, and gave the rudest sneer when we replied that we would, if it was convenient, like separate checks, but understood if she wanted just one as we were a larger group. She took ages, yet had plenty of time to stop and spend extended time talking to friends. She was only nice when she dropped off the credit card receipt come tip time. I tried the Slider Inn with an open heart, I really did. But there's just too many things wrong with the place. Their beer selection is atrocious; all domestics, with no local beers, and half of them are your cheap lagers (the others are decent, but nothing you'd want to write home about). This is a sticking point for me, because Slider Inn is in Midtown. Every restaurant in the 38104 has a great drink selection, so why is Slider Inn so mediocre? The lobster roll that everyone raves about? It's average. I may be spoiled in that my family made great lobster rolls when I was a kid (and no, we're not from New England), but it was bland on top of bland. For some odd reason it's a bright pink color, and the only real taste besides a faint hint of lobster is lemon juice. It has big chunks of lobster, always a bonus, which is why it was such a letdown. It comes on a grilled open-top bun, which was buttered and fried on a griddle. Think lobster on a grilled cheese, except not as awesome as that sounds. Nowhere near justifying the $18 price tag. I tried the make-your-own 3 sliders....disappointing. The chicken slider (Lowrider) was pretty good, but the two beef ones were terribly dry. I'm not sure why our server ranted about the bourbon mayo....it tastes like a sweet Miracle Whip. I almost vomited a bit just typing that. The place is cramped and over-priced for what it is. It could be a cool little burger joint for us night owls (open till 3 am is awesome), but it was just a letdown. For less money, I could go to Huey's and have my taste buds orgasm every time. read more

So I didn't post a review the last time I ate here as the service was really slow/bad but the food was really good. So after my second trip the service was much better and like our first trip the food was consistently good for everyone at the table (good job kitchen staff). On the service comment, I don't want the management to read this post with too rosy of a spin...let me be clear...the service was better but not awesome. I love the outside deck addition, with it they may have finally found a business that will make it in this location. Great place to eat but now its equally good to just go hang out and have a few beers. Oh and I noticed some comments on the smoking issue. I am a non-smoker but have no issue with smoking bars/restaurants. In fact generally I would prefer to gamble on sitting next to a smoker than sitting next to an unruly child with parents who ignore the bad behavior.
