Sliders has a nice atmosphere if you're looking to hang out and watch the game, but that's about it. Average bar food - tends to look better on the plate than it tastes. Service is extremely slow! It takes way too long for simple things like ordering a refill or getting/paying your check. Food service is also quite slow. Twenty-plus minutes for a simple appetizer is too long. Wish I could say these are isolated things, but it's happened on many of my visits. You would be much better off at a better rated bar, or just make some appetizers and watch the game at home. read more

That being said, I had to get one of the only negative reviews I've ever written out of the way. Pretty bad that I came here almost a year ago and this still stuck with me after all that time. I'm from out of town and was visiting friends in the area. The 4 of us went in July last year, 10 months prior. Average sports bar, decent environment, lot of wing flavors. Food was good, service was alright. They wanted multiple forms of ID from me because I had a Massachusetts license. We're ordering everything and I was told they were out of stock on 2 drinks I picked from the specials menu. I settled on the JK Scrumpy 22 oz "hard" apple cider on the specials menu, no price listed. One of my friends got the same thing. Was expecting a little upwards of $10, maybe $11 or so for each one. We get the bill and THEY CHARGED $21.49 FOR EACH CIDER! It was absolutely asinine. I've paid less for table service full bottles of wine at fancier restaurants. The two of those ciders together costed more than our 3 large orders of boneless wings. I looked up the price and found it retailed at liquor stores to be just over $8.00. Needless to say, we were pissed, asked to talk to the manager. Price wasn't listed on the specials menu and no disclosure of the unreasonable price was given on ordering. She told us there was nothing she could do but she "understood our concerns" and if we wrote a review on Facebook or through survey monkey, the owner would be in touch. She also said a guy at the bar threw a fit about an hour previous because he ordered 4 and was pissed when he got the bill. I would be too. Filled out the survey, gave crap reviews on survey monkey and Facebook, no response from owner. Not that I wanted to talk to the owner, but the manager said they would reach out to me and no effort was made on their part. Never going back here again. read more

I really liked this place as a die hard wing guy. They had on the menu levels of "done" all the way up to a very very well done aka burnt to a crisp for those who want it (including a disclaimer that there would be an additional wait, very honest and a sign of their commitment to the wings) I got the very well done and they honored exactly that. And they were delicious. The bartender was friendly and on top of things; never had to wait for a refill. We used to love this place and visit almost every Friday night with our two kids. The quality of food (especially the wings) has gone downhill significantly to the point where we will no longer be spending our money here. Tried it for the last time yesterday and the wings had PIECES OF FEATHERS still attached. We asked for them extra well done and they were not cooked well at all and they are now huge like chicken legs instead of wings. Yes, I am the weird guy that sat in the corner watching the trivial game one of heat vs nets, while everyone else cheered on for the Bruins as they played the Montreal Canadiens. Went there on a Tuesday night. The place was pretty busy. Went there with intention of watching game one of seven game series of nets vs heat. When we arrived, I was a bit skeptical about finding a TV with Basketball game, because the place was pack with Bruins fans. However, I was not disappointed when a found a table with the perfect view of the game that I wanted to watch. I have been to couple of the Sliders in the area. I believe that Wallingford location is terrific. Despite the negative reviews, the service here has been consistently good every time I went. Especially tonight, they were pretty busy and still they were able to get us in a timely manner. Although, I didn't get any food this time but I am always a fan of their mucho nachos which my friend did order. Not bad to munch on while watching the game. I went with a friend who is pretty indifferent about sports. Therefore, the experience was not as exciting as expected. But I did have a good time catching up with him during commercials. Just a personal note: going to these kind of establishments really depends on the people you go with. When you are having a good time with friends, service and food may just seem minute. And for sports and beers, Sliders Wallingford just may have the right atmosphere for that. read more

The table service here usually sucks- bar service is fine. The wings have gone downhill since the Wallyworld store opening. The other food generally sucks. It pains me to write this because I like to and want to support Conn chains, especially ones in the Meriden/Wallingford area, however it seems like they've rested on their laurels which management should know better. Sliders is a pretty standard bar and grill. They are really known for their wings. Tons of flavor choices to choose from. The rest of the food is rather meh, but solid. Oh and they have reverse happy hour on Fridays from 9-11p! $5 wings and other apps as well as $3 drafts and $5 titos and captain drinks. Sliders has been a constant in my life for the last 8 Years or so (before relocating to Buffalo, NY). Never because I actually wanted to go here, mostly it was friends suggesting or coming here for the half off wings (which I think are on Tuesday's). I met here with some of my friends on Thursday to catch up and grab a bite to eat. If you come here between 3PM-6PM on weekdays you get to order from the happy hour menu which offers 5 boneless wings for $5 amongst other things. I decided to order 2 orders of the boneless wings (which probably was a bad idea) and managed to try the Buffalo Bacon Ranch and the General Tsao's. Both flavours were pretty good and even though I wouldn't say they were some of the best boneless wings I've had, they did the job and were pretty good. My group was all pretty satisfied with the food but the service lacked at times. Only one person at our table was ever asked about a refill and once we were done eating and the table was cleared off, it took about 20 minutes before our server came back to provide the bill. Overall, the food was alright and so was the experience in general. If you are looking for some decent priced food then this is a good place to bring a group, it's worth checking out. read more

I've been going to this establishment for many years now, in fact since I was a kid. It's always been one of my go to wing destinations. Whenever a guest comes to town and wants food this is the place to bring them. With a decent amount of specials for different nights and times, With my favorite being happy hour, you can't go wrong with happy hour! Although this place is not the best wing place (my opinion) they have all the fixings to make you come back with an outstanding staff and nice atmosphere and great deals. Although the wings aren't huge but they are made correctly with a nice crisp texture in addition to many great and original flavors. One of the best garlic Parms and honey bbq flavors around. Some of my other favorites are honey chipotle, honey mustard, buffalo Parm(garlic parmesan+buffalo sauce) this one is by far such a creative flavor it's so great. This place also has many different foods aswell like a great appetizer menu and many burger and wrap creations. This may not be the best wing place but it's not a convenient wing place and brings originality to the table and the happy hours are great!4/5 read more

I went to sliders before a concert with my partner. Fortunately the food was good, but nothing else really was. I arrived a few minutes after my partner and he already had a table. I sat down and it took a good 5 minutes for the waitress to come back. We ordered two kinds of boneless wings (maple bacon and honey BBQ), potato skins, and a side of tater tots. The waitress goes "oh, that's all?" And yes, yes it was. Our food came out pretty quickly, but my water still hadn't come. I didn't realize when the person (who wasn't our waitress) set it down, so I didn't say anything. But almost immediately realized it as the person walked away. We also never got our tater tots, but at that point, we didn't particularly care. The food was good. Potato skins were yummy and the wings were good too. The maple bacon reminded me a little bit of chicken and waffles and smelled like breakfast. The honey BBQ were also yummy, your standard BBQ. The ranch was also good. When the waitress finally reappeared, we made eye contact and I asked about my water again. She brought it over a few minutes later (mind you, were about half way done with our meal at this point). She disappeared again and finally we asked for our check. Tater tots weren't on it, and neither was my partners soda. Thanks? Overall, sub par. It was also very distracting because of all of the TVs, which I would have appreciated if I were watching the game. I always think Sliders in Wallingford gets by based on its reputation. This has to be one of the worst places to eat in Wallingford. The service is horrible and the waitresses are straight bitches. I'm about to be 30 this year and twice I've been denied a drink because the 19 year old waitress thought my ID was fake. Whatever, there are better bars to drink in The food is well, it's sports bar food. The wings are on average what you'd expect a wing to be. Nothing spectacular. The garlic and parmesan wings are drier than dirt and lack flavor. Skip them. The fried pickles are pretty good but it's also a hit or miss food item. I've had orders were we've devoured them in 3 minutes and other times were I've wanted to vomit after eating them. And the burgers? Don't expect quality and you'll be fine. It is a place to drink a few beers and watch some games (if you are actually served) but not a place where I'd recommend dining. read more

Got 25 medium buffalo wings for the Big Game last night and I will never go back to Sliders again. The wings had no crispiness to them and it was like they were barely cooked and this is after reheating them again following their instructions. For $29.99 plus tax this was the worst investment I have ever made. Luckily someone else brought over some wings from J Timothy's to save the day. If you need wings I recommend J Timothy's or Beechland Tavern in West Hartford. I understand it is Super Bowl and you are busy but I am not buying wings from Sliders so I can cook them an additional 45 minutes. I buy wings from Sliders so I can reheat them for a couple minutes and then put them out. This wings needed to get cooked longer and not just reheated. I don't know if the temperature wasn't right on the deep fryer because they were cooking so many wings today but something wasn't right. Update 2/13/19. The owner was nice enough to reach out and apologize about the quality of the food and refund my order. I understand that it was the busiest day of the year for a wing restaurant and things might not always go smoothly. I am happy to give them another try because they do have the best boneless buffalo wings around. read more

I am not one to bash a business for one misstep. sliders has been declining in quality for years as they have expanded to more locations. Yesterday I ordered the brisket platter which came with creamy mac n cheese and coleslaw. The brikset was described as fork tender. If by fork Sliders means a hand saw then yes it was fork tender. This was the nasty piece of meat with a beef jerky consistency. I held it in my hand and it stood at attention like a soldier in front of the flag. I think i'm still chewing the piece I ate several hours later. I guess it was lunch yesterday and lunch today. The mac n cheese was like soup. Apparently thats what creamy means to this place. I should not be able to turn over my container and its pours out like like i spilled a glass of water. This platter was also $15.99. I think a Slim Jim and a cup o soup is a little steep at that price. Sliders should be embarrassed to serve what they call food. The website says that they were proudly established in 1993. That may very well be the case but at this point that pride has turned to trying to make as much money as possible with the least amount of quality. I can't in good conscience ever recommend this place to anyone let alone my worst enemy. I'd be embarrassed to tell anyone to go here. Rude, inattentive staff & charged for food that wasn't given. I came here on a casual date and I ordered the vegan burger. I asked the waiter at the bar what was in the burger and she said "I don't know it's just vegan", I asked if she could find out and she rolled her eyes and after at least 5 minutes she came back and said its a veggie garden burger. I ordered it with a side of fries. When the meal arrived there was no side of fries but she didn't even come ONCE during or after the meal so I couldn't even get her attention to ask for the fries. After we ate, she took a good 20 minutes to finally out our plates away despite making drinks in front of us and talking to the other bartender about how some "customer was so annoying she could just punch her in the throat". Wow! That's professional! Then we were charged for the fries but my date said forget about it since it would have taken them forever to take that $2 off. I would never go back. I appreciate the vegan option but please educate your staff on what's in the food you are serving & it would be nice to make sure they get the whole meal and check on us at least once after they order. I've gone here multiple times for Happy Hour and I have never been impressed. Their beers and drinks are over priced. The food is nothing to brag about. I've tried all different flavors of their chicken tenders and wings and some of the other appetizers. Meh. It's not something you can't find at another chain restaurant. The worst part is the service. Our waitress was nice but you had to look for her if you wanted a refill on your drink. If you go up to the bar, they ignore you. I've gone in with big parties and they always seem annoyed. I don't know why because we always spend a lot and tip well. Sadly, the service here continues to hinder the reviews of this restaurant. I was especially surprised at the exceptional disorganization of Super Bowl Sunday. I ordered 50 wings to go the Friday prior to the game and was given a time slot to pick up my order of 5:26pm. My wings weren't ready until 6:00pm. Amazingly, a restaurant that prides itself "game-day" know-how, was fraught with a fury of frustrated patrons all anxiously awaiting their late to-go orders. If you're going to call your sports bar "Sliders" I think you should have the most kickass options of sliders ever. The highest priced wings anywhere in CT. They charge extra if you ask for all flat sides and charge extra for a tiny cup of extra blue cheese, even if you don't want celery. I told them to keep my order, I despise being gouged on dressing, wtf? Buffalo Wild WIngs aren't that great but they never charge for one little side of dressing. You will see plenty of take out orders going out, while you wait for your food to arrive. My friend took a peek in the kitchen and wasn't too surprised to see the cooks lounging around. It is a pretty good place to catch a game, with TV's viewable from every location. The wings are pretty average - all have good flavor, but they are very sloppy and goopy - the Cajun wings have dry seasoning and are my favorite. If you want hot wings, you can get them - but they taste horrible. All of the sandwiches and burgers come on rolls that are way too soft and fall apart. The salads are great if you like the same nasty iceberg lettuce they use on their sandwiches - flavorless, colorless lettuce with canned olives and dressing - mmm mmm good! The main reason for the low rating is not the food, however. This place has THE WORST BEER LIST ever! There are plenty of taps, which compounds the sin. All of the beers are pedestrian, and most are pappy American swill - almost no microbrews. They have a beer of the month which could redeem them, but no. Recently, their beer of the month was... a Hefeweizen???? And they have a Hefeweizen as part of their normal tap list. Slider's reputation far exceeds their overall value and quality. I really like Sliders. I always come here for the wings! My boyfriend and I love Garlic Parm, Garlic Pepper, and Buffalo Bleu the best. We always order several kinds of wings here and eat SO much! We make sure to order our favorites and then try one or two new flavors. They have tons of different sauces and rubs for their wings, so make sure that you come hungry! We were there recently and I ordered my typical dinner - 6 medium buffalo wings and a basket of fries for sharing with others. I was under the impression that maybe they forgot to put any sauce on it whatsoever. We went back last night and my son and his friend both were wondering if the chef forgot to put the wing sauce on their order. I looked at their orders - seemed dry. Mine were fine - but I asked them to be prepared "extra saucy". The waitress brought their wings back to the kitchen and brought them new, saucier wings. She explained that -lately they have been coming out dry but they are happy to make them saucy if requested. My favorite sports bar in town. Plenty of tv's always playing a large variety of sports. Good happy hour deals - $3 draft beers and $5 wine and cocktails. They also have a good selection of appetizers for $5. Late night happy hour weekdays after 9 as well! I enjoy their great wings and always change it up with their large selection of sauces and rubs. (Great for take out as well!) There's a decent sized menu with something for everyone. Food and service has always been excellent during my visits. read more
