We stopped in around the afternoon and were sat immediately. Our waitress was prompt and to the point which was okay but made us feel not feel at home off the bat. My fiancé ordered hard boiled eggs and she didn't really make an effort to double check but said they never do that. We've order hard boiled eggs before so that was odd but then let us know "there wasn't even a button for that". We could've been offered options for alternatives but it was really just like a "no, what else" Food was good but the service in this experience definitely threw us off because the waitress on the other side gave us excellent service a previous time we came. read more

Sat in the curbside spot for 35 minutes before deciding to go inside at 1:00 Staff was extremely quiet and rude, only asked for my name for pickup, (which it was a curbside order, NOT pickup, i'm disabled and was not expecting to have to leave my car.) and then told me the price. There was so much tension, and no one seemed like they had any clue as to what they were doing. I tried to pay using apple pay on the website but apparently that did not go through. I had to pay in store. If that needed to be done, why couldn't one of the workers come out and tell me, instead of making me wait pointlessly in my car for 40 minutes? My food is cold now. IHop came out with a new thick and fluffy French Toast menu, and it had my name written all over it. They no longer use regular bread, and have replaced it with artisan bread dip in a vanilla cinnamon batter. There are several toppings you could have on it. I chose the Strawberry Banana, glazed strawberries, fresh bananas, powdered sugar and whip cream. My wife chose the Gingersnap Apple that consisted of sliced cinnamon apples, gingersnap cookie crumbles, red currants, and powdered sugar. This came with the apples, and red currant on the side so you can mix how sweet and tart you want it. Cinnamon apples, and red currant paired perfectly. These new breakfast entrées are absolutely delicious. As always service was excellent and the restaurant is extremely clean. Im from out of town and stopped here on the way. I have a service dog and presented her ID. It wasn't a CT ID cause I'm from out of town but valid... and the hostess said it was probably fake and from Amazon. She did let me and my family still sit and eat but it was hurtful and incredibly embarrassing. My dog isn't for emotional support she is for disability and is trained to help me when I need her. Sure, but I wasn't going to let my free combo offer expire, I can tell you that! Three of us were seated immediately and our server was beyond pleasant. So much so that we overlooked her temporarily forgetting the hot chocolate. She made up for it by squirting half a can of whipped cream on top of a soup bowl-sized mug. On 11/28/2021, we stopped off at IHOP for a late brunch when coming back to NJ. We entered the restaurant. The hostess greeted us through a plastic opening. She opened a large protective plastic door to let us enter. We were escorted to the table. The server immediately came over with menus. She wore a mask. We were asked if we would like anything to drink. A few minutes later she came back with water and tea. She took our orders. I had two gluten-free pancakes. They were very good. Of course, I had to put butter and little maple syrup on them. Gluten free pancakes were about a dollar extra. My friend enjoyed the Strawberry and Bananas French Toast. My wife and I went to this IHOP and used each of our own individual accounts to redeem our pan coins for curbside pickup. We do know that only 1 pan coin redemption can be made per day per account and also the app does not allow you to redeem 2 pan coin orders in the first place. When we arrived at the curbside and called the restaurant and told the employee we have 2 different pick up order, they stated one was ready and the other was not. We decided to go inside to pick up instead but the same lady that we spoke with over the phone stated that we cannot get 2 pan coin redeemed orders under the same name. I stated it was not under the same name and she turned the bags to look at the names clearly showing 2 different names and said you cannot redeem it because we have the same last name even though it was 2 different accounts and 2 different pan coin redeemed. She then stated that the owner is there and said it was okay this one time and not do it again. We went back to our car and called corporate to confirm this policy of not begin able to pick up 2 pan coin redeemed order from 2 separate account but with same last name and the corporate employee stated that was not a thing and that as long as it was different accounts it was fine. Overall good service and good quality food. Upon entering the store the have a big barricade set up with a sign, banning you from entering any further than the breezeway without employee permission. A "please wait to be seated" sign would suffice. It ruins the experience. Since it was the holidays I was only left with one option as far as the pancakes go and that was THE GRINCH pancakes....yup, they have pancakes themed after the The Grinch who stole Christmas! I honestly don't even think I know what flavour they were or anything like that, but what I do know is that those green grinchy pancakes were full of flavour (I'm still not sure what it was, but man did it taste dang good), it had some whip cream on top, and when the syrup got added, BAM! I had some super tasty pancakes that did my body good. While the hostess was very understanding, the manager brushed off her concerns without even offering to comp our meal. She questioned my girlfriend's observations right off the bat, and had the audacity to give her ice from another ice machine. For Veteran's Day they only offered Veterans A Sugar ladened Piece of French Toast with Sugar ladened fruit compote. Many elderly Veterans have Diabetes and/or other Medical Conditions that this kind of food is not appropriate. Consequently, as a Veteran, first time ever, I had to pay $20.00 for a regular eggs, toast, hash brown, 2 strips of bacon breakfast which was a RIPOFF! Last year on Veteran's Day IHOP was wonderful. One had the 5 (dollar size ) pancakes with scrambled eggs and sausage and one had the new Churro pancake kids meal with eggs and bacon. I also had a Churro pancake meal with bacon,eggs and hash browns. Good deal just 7.99 for it pancake included. The Churros were small bite-sized on top and were crispy and delicious. We were shopping at BJs and wanted to get dinner after we left. Brinner is always a good option, so we stopped in. The hostess was friendly and we were seated quickly. My expectations weren't high, but, you know. Quick food. I sat on the far side and immediately realized there was a problem with the booth. Since there were only two of us, I just scooted further in, but the seat was torn and broken. It wasn't comfortable to sit on at all (see photo). We ordered and or waiter disappeared. We waited and listened to some interesting conversation from the guys behind us. Our food came and mine was ok - an omelette and home fries. My stepdad ordered eggs over easy and a side of pancakes. He tried to spread the margarine but the pancakes were cold. We sent them back with another waitress after waiting more than 5 minutes for ours to be seen anywhere in the dining room. Everything else was ok. We chatted with the waitress for a moment to say thank you because she wasn't servicing our table. I mentioned the hole in the seat and she apologized profusely and I mentioned that I noticed many other booths covered with duct tape. She said management was aware of the problem. Eventually our waiter came back only to give us our check. We told him we sent the pancakes back with a waitress and he said he was sorry and if we needed anything else to let them know. I would usually not even bother to take time to review a chain, especially IHOP...but had a relatively good experience here and figured I would yelp about it. Went on a very busy Sunday around noon--probably THE worst time to go. Was with a group of 10 people and we called ahead after another local diner could not accommodate us. Hostess prepared an area for us prior to our arrival even though there were many other patrons waiting to be seated and they don't take reservations. We waited a brief time upon arrival, before being seated. They revamped their menu since my last visit to any IHOP and there are tons of combo meals and choices. Waitress (Sonia) seemed frazzled at first although later was relaxed and so pleasant. Luckily we asked for splitting of checks as we ordered and she agreed it was easier to do so before submitting our orders as one tab. She was precise and available, as we asked for more coffee, extra pancakes (all you can eat special currently running), napkins, cup of ice, etc. They added a 15% gratuity onto each bill, which actually seemed like less than what we would have tipped on our own. My eggs over easy very a little too "easy" aka almost borderline raw for my liking, but hash brown potatoes were great, bacon was crisp and pancakes were good. I totally understand why this location has 3 stars. It literally should get one star. I been to this location years ago and was disgusted at the cleanliness. I was in full view of the kitchen and all you saw on the rug was food, syrup, you name it it was spilled on the floor. Flash forward a few years and now they have new floors around the restaurant and still these people do not believe in mopping or sweeping after each patron. When I was sat at my both I noticed 3 tables full of the previous family garbage, 5 min later still sitting there. No one came to bus the tables. I look under my table there's silverware, sugar packet and just dirt. Didn't we just go through covid. Why are you not cleaning after each client in a timely manner. It doesn't matter if it's a holiday or a regular day these people just don't care about the appearance of the restaurant. I don't typically like to eat at chains but I came to this IHop a few years back and tried something I wouldn't have expected from a pancake joint. I now enjoy going there to treat myself with this unexpected dish. What is it? The steak tip dinner. I absolutely love it. I get mashed potatoes and corn with the garlic bread and I think if I could, I'd eat it at least once a week. It's a great dish, not just for a pancake house. I'm a bit surprised at the high cost though. Let's be honest, it's not the best beef tips but they taste good so I'm surprised they're priced as high as they are. I went there recently alone and got my meal with water and with a tip it was about $21. For a single person's lunch, it's a bit much. I'd be happier if it was priced around $14-15 and would probably go more frequently if it was less. Because I love those steak tips, I'll be back...just not as often because of the price. read more

Burger and fries were delivered cold and the onion rings weren't cooked through. Instead of paying up at the cashier (which is how we always did it) they force you to pay at the table- not to mention, they walk away with your credit card for quite some time. I am not familiar with a management change, but if that is correct then the new management gets a grade of "F". I will give the manger on duty a good grade for constantly sweeping the floor. Honestly I love the food here! Every weekend this place is hoppin' (no pun intended)! But seriously this place gets so packed every weekend its nuts! I have been to this new location quite a few times and it def. is better mid-week dinnertime when no one is around. I feel that the food is pretty self explanatory and hard to screw up. The only issue is the service and the nasty hostesses! At lest 3 times that we have gone there someone has been served on a plate that looks like it was already used or served coffee in a mug that had a nasty jelly fingerprint on it from who knows where! I totally get that when there are 75 bugger faced toddlers running around things get a little hectic, but the service seems to take a hit as a result. The hostesses that greet you at the door all have like 30 lbs of nasty bronzer on (you would swear they rolled in the dirt before clocking in!!!) a few times have seemed more than useless/clueless, and have continuously failed to show some good personal hygiene habits. Maybe it's because I hate seeing people bite their nails and sneeze right in their hands and then handle my food or maybe its because I work at a hospital and see some of the nastiest shit ever that...who knows?! Alright so, it's IHOP. I haven't been to an IHOP in years but we didn't feel much like driving around this morning. We were on our way for a hike and it was 1130 already. This location is pretty busy however, we found a spot upfront. We did have to wait as there were 5 parties ahead of us but maybe 5 minutes tops. The hostess was VERY friendly - strangely friendly for an IHOP. Matter of fact now that I think about it, our waitress was super friendly too. Coffee was strong. Not the best but do-able. We both ordered the 2x2x2. Eggs, sausage or bacon, pancakes. Pancakes were good. Sausage was decent. Eggs were pretty good. For $20, you can't complain. Decent service and food. Went to I Hops for a late breakfast as my husband had doc appointment there in Wallingford. Worst breakfast I ever had. Waited 25 min. for the waitress to bring us our pot of coffee. It was horrible cold and black as tar and tasted burnt..Called waitress back asked for another pot and told her about the awful coffee she had given us. And she said that's why ur coffee was late coming to you. I was waiting for a fresh pot. I dont know why, but I LOVE EGGS. I could eat breakfast every meal of the day, its a shame that the universe expects us to (for the most part) avoid this fare for most of the day. IHOPS are nothing new....they are everywhere. The GRAND SLAM breakfast is the perfect food for anytime of the day (or night). Lord knows I've sought out IHOPS in the past as the perfect place to cure the after drinking munchies. This particular location is fairly new (less than a year old) and I have only eaten here twice. Now, I can handle lots of food, but my body knows its limitations. But for some reason, the 2 times I have eaten here I have wound up sick and spending alot of quality time on the porcelian throne. Both times I got the Grand Slam with coffee. Both times were only a few weeks apart and at night. But both times I was regretting it for the rest of the night and part of the next day. My GF had no issues and Im sure many many other people were fine as well, but this has to be a sign for me with this location to either get a burger or try another location. The atmosphere was horrible the first time we went. A large group of teenagers showed up and decided to take over the place with their loud talking and rude behavior. We moved to another table for some peace and watch the poor manager who clearly knew the score try to keep these delinquents in line. He apologized to us as we paid the bill.
