Amazing chicken! We ordered 2 Nashville chicken sandwiches with comeback sauce- basically a spicy aioli (one extra mild and one mild based on the tip that even extra mild has a decent kick). I had an extra mild chicken tender and I can see that the seasoning could get very hot very fast. The chicken was average, but if you're looking for Nashville-style hot chicken this is a good place for that. The competitors I selected are as follows: Slim Chickens, Chick-fil A, Waldo's, Zaxby's, Red Light Chicken, Chicken and the Wolf, and Charlies Chicken. Although Chicken and the Wolf has one of the best chicken sandwiches in Tulsa they don't compete well with the other chicken joints for a salad. The chicken was good the salad was fair. Unusual in that fact that it also had Cole slaw mixed in with the greens. The lemon buttermilk dressing was thin, so it ran to the bottom of the box. And that is what I disliked the most. The Box. Tried the OG chicken sandwich yesterday in medium spice. Happy that I chose the correct spice level! This sandwich was a banger! I recommend getting this with the comeback sauce on the side and drizzle on top of the chicken as you wish. Their regular fries were also fantastic - super crunchy with the perfect seasoning. I think they're a little bit beaten down by the business model. I'm not trying to judge them on that. Although I should be reviewing the vegan options - the restaurant uses a soy patty so the vegan options will not be included in the review. The chicken sandwich was ordered with no sauce and slaw on the side (only the pickle was on the sandwich). The chicken was bland but that may be due to the options ordered. Standard chicken sandwich - nothing special or unique. The pickle was dill with seasoning - maybe soaked in it (didn't particularly enjoy it so removed it). So happy I decided to try this place out while visiting Tulsa. Hands down the best chicken strips I have ever had. The fry's were very very good also. This spot had many food vendors located inside the Mother Road Market. This is a very cool venue where you can try all sorts of food in a vendor hall. The vibes are super chill. Great place for a big family as there is something for everyone. Chicken and the Wolf caught my eye with the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich, and man, it did not disappoint. Sandwich was fire, great flavors, super fresh, larger portions and reasonably priced. Service was solid but in a vendor hall that is hard to judge. They did their job, they were friendly, gave me tips on how long to expect my food, and greeted me promptly when it was ready. The cashier scared me into getting medium, which wasn't super spicy (Asian taste buds here hehe). If you can tolerate spicy well, get hot. Anyway, the food was tasty. The vegan fried chicken sammie is delicious. It is a seitan affair and they do it up right. The wife is a mild spice lady (in the 'born to be mild' sense as well) while I am an XXX-tra hot person who will still slather more cayenne on whatever. We both thoroughly enjoyed our sandwiches. The medium spicy level was not too much for wifey but it was almost too much. The mild is her Goldilocks level. The Xtra spicy, or whatever they call the 'as hot as you can make it' was spicy but not painful or too much, for me. It was delicious. I eat hot food often and maybe I needed one of their sauces (like the ranch style sauce) to cool it but I went for the full effect. Went for the vegan tenders as advertised on their website for $5.50 to be told that they can only do it as a full sandwich option, which is over $10! I am genuinely shocked they couldn't do it as a single tender with sauce (which is an option on their menu for regular chicken). On top of this the kid behind the counter couldn't have looked less enthusiastic to be here. Poor review for their lack of vegan accommodation (despite the website stating "vegans, we got you covered") and the attitude and lack of professionalism from the boy behind the counter. I know this isn't gourmet dining, but a smile goes a long way! Overall I'm disappointed because Lone Wolf downtown is an exceptional establishment with lots of variety for vegans so I was expecting a similar experience. read more
