In my opinion it was pricy for six wings. Also, the sauce was too sweet and the wings were over fried. Also got the buffalo chicken sand which was wasn't good and I found it to be salty. Love the wings! Sometimes things can get salty but seems like they have lightened up with salt after a few visits. The fried pickles are a no go and way too salt. The okra was bland. I'm rarely on this side of town anymore but I had a couple of appointments in Sparks and killed some time with a late breakfast between the two. I got here right after 11am and the drive thru was empty. I noticed they have 2 lanes for ordering and when I pulled up to the window I was wondering why they had an extra lane on the outside. After I had paid and was waiting for my food another car pulled up behind me. I noticed that an employee came out of a side door to collect her payment and also delivered her food to her because it was ready before mine. I thought this was awesome. That car used the extra lane to pull out and leave. Seems like a great way to keep the drive thru moving. After the other car left they let me know they were just waiting for the waffle to be done. My food was really nicely packaged but I was a little bummed the waffle was cut up. It's shown whole on the menu and I was hoping to fold the chicken up in it to make it easy to eat in the car. I made it work and I really enjoyed the meal. The waffle was thick and soaked up the butter and syrup. The breading on the chicken wasn't too thick and was crisp and seasoned well. I felt like the price was good for the amount and quality of food I received. When I ordered I didn't even realize the $8.99 included a drink until I looked at my receipt to see only a .50 charge for my large iced tea. In doing the survey listed on the receipt, I did tell them. The local manager reached out and offered a comp meal. When I went to receive it, I felt like they all thought I was making it up. Thank goodness I had the voicemail stored on my phone to show them. I'm probably going to give them some more time to see if they get their act together. Slim's was founded in my hometown of Northwest Arkansas! I was thrilled to find out they opened a location here in Nevada. Everybody loves Slim's back home, so I hope it gets a warm welcome here on the west coast as well! They deserve five stars for being such a high quality fast food restaurant. The inside is spacious and open with lots of seating, plus they have a big patio! You order at the counter and they bring your meal out to you. I got the Classic Meal which came with 4 chicken tenders, fries, Texas toast, and a medium drink. All for $10! They have lots of sauces to choose from, you get 1 with your meal and I chose cayenne ranch. My food came out in a timely manner. They use special togo boxes that are solid and durable. My food was hot and fresh when I got it and was still warm once I got home to eat it. The chicken tenders have a light breading but you definitely get much more chicken than breading per bite which I like. The fries are lightly seasoned and the toast tastes like butter is already cooked into it. I would certainly say Slim's is better than Raising Cane's, it is up there with Chick-fil-A in my opinion. I always have a solid experience at Slim's and am happy to have them here in Nevada, here's to hoping they open a location in Reno eventually in addition to Sparks! read more

I've been here a few times now and the food is decent. The chicken is juicy and well cooked. The shakes are so good! I enjoyed the fried pickles. They are really salty, but good with ranch. Their ranch is slightly runny which is not my favorite. I like all the sauces and flavors that you can choose from. The service is another story. I know that they are just getting started here and need some time to adjust, but I didn't appreciate hearing workers cussing and seeing them flip each other off. They were also messing around while taking our order (which was only 2 drinks) and ended up making mistakes. They are all very young, but I feel like this is a management and training problem! I'm not even a prude, but there's just a level of professionalism that is expected at any establishment. I don't think it's too much to ask. Cayenne Ranch chicken sandwich is my go to, as good as any chicken sandwich I've ever had, medium spicy with a creamy ranch sauce with a little heat on the bun. My wife likes the chicken club sandwich also very good! They started putting Cajun seasoning on the fries which made them much tastier. House made lemonade is yummy. Definitely worth a try , I've been 4 times in a little over a month and it's consistently good and the service is getting a little more efficient. I had been warned by a friend that this place was "meh" but I was in the area and decided to give it a go. Disappointingly, I'm feeling that may have been generous. I hit the drive-thru and it wasn't a long wait however the server was incredibly disengaged. The Buffalo Chicken Sandwich was served up pretty quick and I dove into the fries for the quick trip home but they were already soggy even though I'd not even escaped the parking lot yet. A handful of minutes later I'm home and ready for redemption with the sandwich. Denied! The breading provided no crisp nor spice and the lettuce was so wilted and slimy that it would have hit the trash days earlier in my kitchen. The signature sauce was near flavorless so I'm not sure what's going on there either. I will give it credit for its neatly decorated exterior and, while I couldn't push myself to finish it, the piece of chicken was a good size for the price. I'm sorry, but it's better than Cane's. Will that change eventually as their quality drops (if it does at all) over time? Maybe, but right now, Slim Chickens offers more food and, in my opinion, better tasting and fresher food than Cane's. Slim Chickens isn't quite a facsimile of Cane's, as they have a much wider menu to order from, which is think is one of the biggest things that puts it above other chicken places. The prices are reasonable, food is fresh, and the biggest complaint I've ever had so far is having the Brian on my order. :( I'd recommend giving it a try if you're someone that likes Cane's. read more

Don't believe the advertisement of having your food made fresh when you order. I went through the drive through to place my order. Parking lot fairly empty, only one other vehicle in the drive through. Ordered a 6 piece wing meal which came with fries, Texas toast and a beverage. Also ordered a chicken club sandwich. Drove to the pick up window, paid my dues, and the order came to the window fast enough that I thought," wow, that was quick." My destination was less than 2 blocks away (right across the street at the shopping center), no longer than 5 minutes. I opened up the container with the wings so I could have fries on the short drive. I could tell they weren't fresh, and they were barely warm. So they have been sitting for a bit. Disappointed and it was over salted. When I arrived at my destination, again, no longer than 5 minutes as I was just going across the street. I settled in and picked up a wing....STONE COLD!!! It's not that it wasn't cooked, but it's obvious that they were cooked much earlier in the day and has been sitting, waiting to be sauced and given to a customer. Not that a heat lamp is any better, but I would have preferred a heat lamp over old, cold wings. To top off the whole situation, the employees didn't even put one single napkin in the bag! So now I have sauced fingers from cold chicken, and nothing to wipe my fingers with. Chicken wings and no napkin. More than disappointed, irritated from the whole experience that I wouldn't recommend the drive through. It's partially my own fault for not looking through the bag before driving off, but it's usually a given that you give customers a napkin. Plus I didn't want the other customers behind me to wait longer than they needed to. I put too much faith in basic customer service lol. They also didn't give me a straw for the beverage, which isn't the biggest problem since I could just take the lid off and sip. The chicken sandwich is what made me give an extra star. Chicken to bread ratio is good. Lettuce had crunch and flavor was decent. If you want cold wings, stale fries, and a mess on your hands, this is the place for you. If you go into the establishment, I think you'd have a better experience, and easier time going up to the counter to let them know that the food is cold, and you could help yourself to accessories like napkins and straws. read more

What a fun concept, my favorite part of this place is the options for sauces and the wings. I like tenders and wings so it's cool that I get to have both in once place. I got the 3/3 meal 3 tenders 3 wings fries and toast. It was our first time there which I voiced to our cashier but their wasn't a welcoming feeling or even a recommendation on how their menu works. I wasn't even sure if I could substitute fries for a different side item. I'll definitely pay attention to that next time. I enjoyed nonetheless the flavor of the toast, it was garlicky and very buttery unlike the competition in town. Wings we're also good, the tenders are definitely seasoned and not too overdone. Whoever okayed another location needs to be locked in a mental institution. This is the worst chicken I have ever had, eating their food was worse than when my grandma died. Their microwaved wonder bread that they call toast tastes like someone took a crap on the bread and spread it like butter, then wiped their booty with it. This is a recently open business near our house, and the food is really good, we have already been here five times since it opened. But the past three times we have been there, there have been problems with our order. Almost every time they are out of the glass jar, desserts that they keep advertising, Why can't they make extra and expect to be busy during grand opening months? Last time they forgot to shake my sandwich in the honey barbecue sauce. The time before that, they forgot our chicken wings. I understand they are having growing pains, because they first opened and training staff, but I would expect a little more even in this case, especially not forgetting food. I was very excited when I heard Spanish Springs was getting a new chicken joint. I hadn't heard of Slim Chickens before and was very curious. The new Sparks location opened for business earlier this week and we wasted no time checking it out. Three restaurant was shiny and squeaky clean, which it should be since they had just opened, but then I noticed the staff almost constantly cleaning tables and sweeping the floor. Strangely, they all wore smiles on their faces. Even stranger, they were extremely nice and friendly. Unsure of what voodoo, black magic, or shenanigans were at play here, we placed our order. We decided to just try a little of everything and ordered a chicken finger meal (chicken, fries, toast, and a medium drink. Oh, it came with a choice of two of their 17 sauces, too. Since we were sampling we also ordered a few extra and wound up with ranch, spicy ranch, Slim's sauce, garlic Parm, Korean BBQ, and garlic Sriracha. Yeah, just a few. The rest of the order included a crispy chicken sandwich and dinner fried pickles (one of my favorite sides and I'm a little picky about them). We grabbed a seat in the dining area and awaiting our pending feast of fried cluck. The Boss had done some research and found generally positive reviews of the food here with the only "complaint" several people noted being overly salty fries. These people may have seen that as a negative, but The Boss and I *LOVE* our fries hot and salty. The food arrived in short order. With our mouths watering, we dove on the fries. To be fair, the fries were good, but nothing special. While we had been anticipating hit and salty, we got room temp fries with an average amount of salt. They were still plenty edible, but not what we were hoping to find. The food news is that was the end of disappointment for this trip. The chicken tenders were, well, tender with a great buttermilk coating. Paired with our little sampling of sauces and they were fantastic. Not surprisingly, the crispy chicken sandwich was equally good. The real stand-out though we're the fried pickles. The same buttermilk coating on thin chips of dill pickles. The batter didn't overpower the taste of the pickle and the pickle returned the favor for the batter. Definitely my favorite item on this adventure. A quick word about the sauces: they were flavorful and enhanced the flavor of the food without making it. While all of the sauces were great, my favorite was the garlic Parm while The Boss preferred the Korean BBQ. We're looking forward to trying out the rest. Yup. That means we're definitely going back and soon. We're hoping they do well and experience some Sparks love. read more

No greeting from staff, can't find my order (it was one of two on their shelves), clueless as to what went with my order, did not have my soda. The first blond girl was clueless and did not know what to do, then the large, heavy set black girl stepped in and started barking questions at me. Again no greeting or apology, just rudely firing questions at me, finds order and completely screws up my name. Terrible experience. Not a great experience, especially considering how expensive this place is. Whoever owns this place should consider some customer service training. read more
