I have tried the food here several times and always received it through the drive though. The food is only prepared or cooked correctly half of the time and never consistent. They often miscount leaving out food (unable to count to 5) or it is dry and overcooked. When it is cooked correctly the food is good but nothing noteworthy. Service has improved since they opened, drive through times have improved. Friendliness of the staff is like the food, very inconsistent. The staff is usually more concerned in talking to each other than the customer. Until the consistency improves this is not a place I would recommend. read more

My wife and I tried Slim Chickens for the first time during the last week of June 2024. I had the Cayenne sandwich and she had a chicken salad. Both were promptly served and were delicious. The Cayenne has a slight kick to it so be careful if you do not like spicy food. I loved it! Fries were fresh and hot. My wife loved her salad. Quantity was perfect. Employees were constantly roaming, cleaning and asking patrons for any assistance needed. It is relatively new in this location and I believe that the hiccups from being new have been resolved. Honestly... mediocre at best. Chicken was just ok. Fries were just ok. Texas toast tasted funny. Diet Coke tasted weird. Service took forever, there wasn't a line in the drive thru and ordering was quick but after that took 20+ min for 3 cars. I ordered the 4 pc meal, with the mango habanero, Buffalo and ranch as dips. Again... mediocre. Honestly even with the minimal choices at Raising Canes I would pick that over this almost any day. Only nice thing is it's new restaurant in Sparks that isn't all the way over by Legends. They've only been open a week.... Hoping it gets better once they get into a groove. I went through the drive-thru and the cashier closed the window upon seeing me and made a comment to the others because one by one, they all came to peek at me. Buffalo chicken sandwich- the bread is always toasted perfectly. the buffalo sauce had a nice flavor, but don't worry if you can't handle spice! this one is mild best. Cayenne ranch chicken sandwich - my favorite. med spice. smoky cheddar wrap- the bbq sauce is great. not too sweet. i prefer grilled chicken on this one. My husband got a Chicken Sandwich and he said it was real good too! However the kids didn't even finish their tenders. Took the entire family, per their request, ok begging. There is ample parking and the drive thru was well thought out, it doesn't obstruct dine in parking. The restaurant ambiance is comfortable and relaxed, kind of modern industrial, bright and clean. For a newly opened business, now day two it was expected to be busy, which it was but service was on it, we quickly placed our order, she got the "Classic meal", I did the 5 & 5, the kids both did sandwiches, we added the Fried Pickles. We found a table, like I said it was busy but they have tables for everyone, from a couple to a long table that would accommodate a large group. The walls are booths that would seat 4 adults comfortably. The service is above parr as staff was walking around, asking if we needed anything, clearing tables quickly and restocking paper towels, etc. The food was very good, the tenders are lightly breaded, good quality chicken white meat, good flavor, actually liked them over Canes. The wings were prepared well, again quality wings, not the huge fatty ones and not small ones, they had a near perfect cook, just a personal things I like extra crispy. They have numerous sauce options, I did Mango Habanero, great flavor, exactly as described. Also got the "Hot" which also had great flavor, though seemed a little watery but actually worked well with the tenders not being thick. Everyone was very happy with their food, the pickles were also a hit, again lightly breaded and prepared perfectly. The only drama was the "Sweet Tea" , they couldn't keep up with the demand and were out when we got drinks, it did get replaced but we had already got an alternative. While waiting for our meals, which wasn't that long for how busy they were, I noted that the drive thru seemed to progress at a reasonable pace. The location is at the corner of Los Altos and Gallery, it is a welcome addition to the area, Sorry, no pictures this trip, it was a late dinner for us and honestly, everyone was hungry and eager to try it, I will get some next time and add to the review. They have a detailed menu on the website, sauces and sides are listed on the counter, behind the registers and above behind them. My husband and I stopped by here on a Sunday afternoon for a late lunch/early dinner. The line for once was not around the building! I have to give them credit for having a pretty efficient drive thru system. There are two menus/two lanes. An employee takes your order (not through a speaker) and you pay at the time you order. The two lanes merge into one and all you have to do at the window is pick up your order. My husband had the grilled chicken wrap in the spinach tortilla (it has another name that escapes me right now). He said it was good and reminded him of the grilled chicken wrap at Jack in the Box which he frequently orders. We both got the Chick's meal. It came with several chicken fingers, a healthy portion of fries, and toast plus a drink. I opted for the ranch dipping sauce. The chicken tenders were very tasty, moist inside, cooked to the right degree of crispy, but not greasy. I like them much more than Raising Cane's. The fries were good also...not too salty, and not soggy. The toast looked like it might be soggy, but it wasn't and was also good. The staff members were all friendly. Sadly, I was expecting something great by the size of the line, but I was left underwhelmed and wanting something different. We wanted a strawberry milkshake, but they're taking a page out of McDonalds book... the shake machine was down . The drive thru line is somewhat of an annoying process (the workers were trying their darndest to make it work, but I think the training might be lacking). People in line including us were given our food while still waiting in line, but we weren't given our drinks... we had to drive to the window to get our drinks lol. We ended up waiting another 12 minutes in line just to receive our drinks, a bit annoying, but not the biggest deal. Mind you, we have a 2 year old toddler in the car as well. When we received our drinks I found that the lids would not go on. I tried everything to get my lid to stay on my cup, then I tried to fix my wife's lid, but alas, no luck. There is an issue with their large cups and the lids that are supposed to fit... the lids don't stay on at all no matter how hard you try. I headed home after trying to fix the lids... when we arrived home (we live close so the food was still fresh) we ate our food and I tried to enjoy it, but sadly it reminded me of bad hospital cafeteria food... bland as heck. The fries seemed to be the cheap fry's you get at a grocery store, no personality or love went into developing the flavor palette of this food. Additionally, my Club Chicken Sandwich didn't have a full chicken breast, but rather it had a skinny chicken strip... I took two bites and the chicken was gone and I had half a sandwich left that was just bread, old lettuce and some tomato. I compared the chicken to my sons chicken strips and they looked to be the same size, not what I expected when ordering a chicken sandwich. All in all I think I'll wait quite awhile before I eat here again to see if they can iron out some of these issues and see if they order more quality ingredients than they're currently using. I really hope that the owners read these reviews. Slim Chickens food is amazing and I highly recommend going here. The one thing that you will have to deal with is horrible service. We have gone through the drive through 3 different times and every time they are horsing around behind the counter and it takes them forever to bring the food. They have no concerns for the customer. When dining in, the service at the counter is also not great and they have no personality or desire to make the customer feel welcome. The ambiance in the restaurant is nice and for fast casual I do recommend the food, especially the deep fried pickles, but hopefully the owner can do some training and get the employees on track cause they are horrible. Outstanding, great fried chicken. Unlike their competitors they're chicken batter was perfectly seasoned and didn't fall off the chicken. We tried the cayenne ranch sandwich which was very good. The fries were average. We also tried the Korean bbq wings which we really liked. The sauce was great. We tried the Mac n cheese which was pretty decent but nothing special. I had to wait about 25-30 minutes for the food but it was also a Saturday night so that's pretty much what I expected to wait if not faster than expected. I will say I'll try to eat there next visit because the food did cool down pretty quickly. read more

Was surprised by how much I enjoyed this. From the outside it appeared to be a typical fast food restaurant. Once you walk in you are greeted by friendly staff at the ordering counter. The restaurant was clean and well lit. The soda fountain area was clean and neatly organized. Once the food got there was when the visit truly became worthwhile. The fried pickles are amazing. Probably the best I have had. The chicken was good. My daughter had the buffalo mac bowl and it was really tasty. We grabbed some of their jar desserts to go. I was really excited to try this place after watching it being built and checking out the menu. My family and I tried it today, but weren't really impressed. We ordered two kids meals that came with a small side of macaroni and cheese, two pieces of bread and a drink - the kids enjoyed their meals. My husband had chicken tenders to which he said were "ok" and I had a grilled chicken wrap which I though was decent. The fries though, were cold and over seasoned, they tasted really salty. The sauces they offer are good. The sweet tea wasn't sweet enough for me personally but my husband who usually orders half iced tea and half sweet, enjoyed it. Maybe we'll try again in a few months, once they work out the kinks but overall the experience was mid. read more
