We ordered at 1:02:35. We received our food at 1:19:24, nearly 17 minutes later. Normally, I wouldn't be timing chicken down to the second, but the wait was getting extensive, so I started paying attention. Our table was sticky and covered in crumbs. Our food came out on paper plates because apparently all of the actual serving trays were busy, not on tables occupied by people eating, but stacked up dirty on top of the garbage cans. The food came out one plate at a time, and each time the food runner set a plate down, they were halfway across the restaurant before we could even check whether we had everything we needed. Spoiler alert: we did not. No utensils. The utensil station by the drinks was completely empty, so I went to the counter to ask for some. The young lady working seemed almost annoyed by my fork request. Back at the table, we realized my husband had only received 2 of the 4 sauces he ordered and paid for. At that point, sauces #3 & #4 was simply going to have to become a donation to Slim Chickens because I wasn't making another trip to the counter. After nearly 17 minutes, you would at least expect the food to be piping hot. It was warm at best. Even more concerning, two of my husband's wings were still bloody at the bone. I could understand some of this if the restaurant had been slammed. It wasn't. Apparently we are extremely spoiled by our local Slim Chickens in Olive Branch, MS, because my husband commented more than once that somebody needed to send their manager over here to get this location whipped into shape. I'm not looking for a refund, a coupon, free chicken, or anything else. This store just genuinely needs help. Training, organization, urgency...something. My mom always said, "Use your hands to save your feet." That might need to be printed on the employee shirts here. Bring the plate, sauces, utensils, napkins, whatever the table needs, with you. And maybe grab a few of those trays off the garbage cans on the way back. I really wish I would've read the reviews before we went to this place. I had never been here before and was in Troy to visit someone in the hospital. The chicken sandwich I had was so dry and not flavorful at all. Husband had the salad which he said was not bad. We also ordered some chicken wings which were way overcooked and dry. The only thing that saved the chicken wings was drowning them in ranch dressing. I would not recommend this restaurant. read more

Twice I've found FEATHERS on my chicken. Tonight I ordered fried mushrooms as well and got okra that was woody. The potato salad is disgusting. I can't figure out why this place thinks it's so great. The restaurant was clean and bright. Husband had strips I had a wrap. Chicken was hot, juicy, and tasty. The wrap was a very pleasant surprise with a lot of really fresh, super green, delicious leaf lettuce. Even the tortilla tasted better than average. Good ranch, good cayenne ranch. Buffalo for strips was pretty traditional and good but nothing special. The Texas toast was garlicky and really good. Fries were salty fresh and tasty. This was my first slim chickens and I would go back. I do agree that pricing isn't the best but it's "premium " fast food. read more

Since this place is so expensive for a fast food place you would think you're getting good quality food but nope. fries are always cold. Tender is very small. I got a late start on my drive to Iowa and only made it as far as Troy when I was thinking about lunch. I saw the sign for Slim Chickens, which was new to me and decided some form of fast food chicken would hit the spot. I quickly learned why I had never heard of Slim Chickens, since it apparently is very new. Their drive through line was long. As I worked my way into line, someone gave me a menu to read ahead of time. By the time I got to a person taking orders, I had selected a Cayenne Ranch Chicken sandwich and some coleslaw. I received my order and drove off to eat while driving north. The chicken sandwich comes with cayenne sauce and fried onions. Positive points are awarded for the seasonings and nice level of heat. Also positive is the right-sized bun. However, the actual chicken (in this case, breast) was not brined, needed salt and although it was not dry, it was chewy. The coleslaw was not accompanied by any fork or other utensil. I figured I could manage to eat coleslaw in the car but decided not to try it with my fingers. So that went to waste. Slim Chickens was OK, nothing special. It is popular for being new. They seem to have taken the Cane's model and expanded what they offer, sandwiches, wraps, tenders and wings. They have salads and shakes and some standard sides. They do not have traditional fried chicken pieces. read more

We stopped here while passing through town. The chicken was excellent. Wings and fries were good. Mac and cheese was just okay. The dessert jars were very good! We do wish the sauces they offered were larger or you got more than one with meal. It's just not enough. They also forgot to give us silverware at the drive thru. The last time I ordered from here I got the chicken sandwich and I received the tiniest piece of chicken that barely covered the bun. Now I ordered a sandwich meal and received tenders instead, with soggy fries and sauce was all over the sauce cup. Got charged double through their app. Didn't receive any of the 20 different sauces that were ordered. Managers couldn't care less. KFC may be more expensive but at least they charge you correctly, give you what you ordered and their managers act like they care. The owner should pay closer attention to their managers. I will constantly bad mouth this establishment as long as I dont have my refund of $165 which is double what it should have been, had I gotten everything I ordered. read more

Pretty decent food, but was treated TERRIBLY at the Troy, Missouri location. I didn't think to check my bag when I was handed the food. upon getting home to my surprise I had someone else's order, so l called and asked if I could get a refund. I took a picture of the food next to the receipt for proof. (was told I couldn't be refunded because their policy is to " comp a meal for next time and my name will be added to their books" I go by the restaurant to claim my comped meal about 2 weeks later, and ask them to refer to the book and it should be under my name. The employee proceeds to argue with me, and say "we don't comp meals or have a book of names." I ask to speak to the manager, and the manager says "sir you need to get out of our drive-thru if you aren't a paying customer" um.... WHAT?! It gets a little more intense after that, and some rude words are exchanged, but instead of escalating the situation and becoming "that guy" I just angrily drove off. Food was good but.... Will never visit again. Went through drive through ordered 20 tenders along with sides and drinks. When we got home and opened the sack and boxes we only had 12 of the tenders. We called to speak with the manager and was told they couldn't come to the phone but would return our call. Never heard from them since. Not the cheapest chicken around so missing 40% of the tenders that were paid for was a bit upsetting and then not getting a return call to fix the situation = will not visit this location or others in the future.
