my office group decided to put in a lunch order from here. Non of us had never tried it before but wanted to give it a shot. We were pleasantly surprised at how great it was. A few things ordered were the Cranberry Kelli on a croissant, ( Which by the way was amazing) The Classic Carol on a BLT, (my coworkers raved) Olivia's Old South on wheat. (( got a two thumbs up from them as well) the Pasta salad that was a side was sooo tasty I personally wanted more. I fruit salad although some of the fruit was nice on top, underneath there were several fruit items grapes, blueberries, and strawberries that were beyond Ripe and into mush. Every meal came with a crisp pickle and a cookie. The cookie was a delicious bite of yumminess! Everyone agree this is the new favorite lunch spot! We will be ordering again. read more

Wow! All I can say is wow. I wish I lived closer because this would be my everyday place if you want to know what good homemade food. Great service and a nice atmosphere with a reasonable price. Look like come here the people every single one of them went out of their way to be pleasant and nice and thankful how refreshing. I know they're probably asked to do it but it seemed natural. I eat at this chicken salad chick at least once a month and will no longer eat there due to my experience tonight. As I'm sitting eating my sandwich a roach comes crawling out of my stack of crackers in the corner of my to go tray. I was absolutely disgusted. Took a photo, killed the roach, and threw my plate away. I called to store to inform them and spoke with the manager. He offered me a credit to which I declined as I refuse to eat at a restaurant where roaches come crawling out of my food. I have been meaning to stop by here since they opened. I was always afraid to... I make good chicken salad (savory), and have always been disappointed in restaurant chicken salad every time I have tried it. But coming back from Orlando today, I ended up in the area, and decided to try them. I ordered a Cranberry Kelli on wheatberry bread, a seasonal salad with poppyseed (recommended by the young lady behind the counter) and a large iced tea. Sandwich was really good (I will have to try their savory versions and see how it compares). The included Pickle was crisp and delicious!! Salad was wonderful, and the poppy seed dressing was not overly sweet like some are... perfect. The tea? I mixed half of the sweet (OMG.. it is sweet, bleh) and unsweetened... and it was delicious that way. I received a flower cookie with my meal... sort of a shortbread cookie with a sweet buttercream type frosting. It was good... but a bit too sweet for my tastes. The staff was phenomenal... Nice clean dining room, extremely friendly staff. You order at the counter get a number and then they will bring your food to the table. Very reasonable pricewise, for two people. It was less than $30 with the meal and the drink included. They have a new flavor called Deck the Holly, which has cranberries and jalapeños, for a nice kick. They have so many different flavors that are all delicious. This time I had the fancy Nancy, which has grapes, apples and pecans. Had the broccoli salad as a side. Always comes with a cookie. My first time at this location. I love CSC, I go to it all the time however it's my first time here. I usually get their fancy Nancy side and croissant with lemon Basil. Always good and fresh. May I suggest: They did change the selection of chicken salads, so now there are fewer choices (I had so sadly part from Jazzy Julie), however, there is still something anyone would want whether you love your chicken salad sweet with nuts and fruit (which I don't care for) or savory (how I like it). That being said, my new favorite is definitely their Sassy Scotty, with the ranch, cheddar, and bacon. If you want a good meal, I strongly recommend getting the sandwich (croissant is my bread of choice!) and get a side of their broccoli and bacon salad. I stopped into the new Lakeland store to try it out. Casher was pleasant and helpful. Offered me samples. They were okay, nothing special. The grapes should have been halved, the pecans were few and far between. My order was wrong but I didn't notice it until I got home. My sandwich didn't have bacon. The soup was minus crackers and the croissant was at least a day old. My side of pasta salad was barely enough for three forkfuls. The Expo didn't check the order. Had lunch in no time after placing the order!! The wait area is sort of limited and tight in proximity to the register, which would be my only complaint here. Though I thought the taste was good, I didn't like the mushy texture. I thought the Classic Carol (the plain one) was too plain (add celery). The other upgraded ones didn't have enough of the supporting ingredients in them (nuts, apple bits, etc). Plus, other reviewers have stated that for every item you add to your sandwich (lettuce, tomato, etc.), you pay for each as an add-on in price. A lot of their items are priced separately, and their menu states, "price varies" on standard broccoli salad. Most sides are solo cup-sized at a cost of $2.50 each. My bill was $30 for a trio of chicken salad in the size of an ice cream scoop. (comes with crackers & a pickle?, not really sure). Some reviews say it also should come with a cookie, but we didn't get that. Then each croissant is an extra charge. Come on, chicken salad is NOT an expensive commodity! Like this place a lot. My wife makes the best chicken salad in the world, but when that's not available, this is a terrific substitute. I like that they offer scoops of different versions of chicken salad as "side dishes" so one can sample many. Also, they offer grab'n'go pre-made cups if you're in a hurry. The sandwiches are large, satisfying and very filling. I ordered a combo with soup ("stuffed baked potato") and it was the highlight of my meal, despite the temperature outside being in the high 90's. I'd have thrown the coveted five stars but for the fact that the chicken in the salad is a little more finely shredded than I prefer. Don't get me wrong: It's good and tasty. However, the kickin' one is fantastic, also. We have also tried the Sassy Scotty and the Fruity Fran. Everyone is nice here. What a cool little spot this was. Upon entering the restaurant we were a little confused but once we found the line, it was smooth sailing. There are menus at the start of the line so you can look at the options before getting to the ordering counter. They have so many options for chicken salad!! My husband and I both got the chicken salad blt and we chose the original chicken salad. The sandwiches were HUGE! I would have been fine with a half sandwich. The sandwiches came with a side so my husband got macaroni and cheese and I got a scoop of Fancy Nancy chicken salad for our kids to share. The Fancy Nancy has apples, grapes and walnuts? Some type of nut. I thought it was good but it was lacking something in my opinion. Also the original chicken salad could seriously use some celery salt. But it was still very good. A lot of the menu selections are off-limits to me because I have a nut allergy but that's not a big deal because I already found "my flavor". "Olivia's old south" has egg and sweet pickles in it and is simply delicious. I like getting the special called "the original chick". It contains a scoop (or sandwich), a pickle spear, a side item, and a cookie. A lot of really smart design decisions are in play here. There's a long, comfortable bench for you to sit on if you are waiting for a to go order. They've also got an app that you can use to scan a QR code on your receipt in order to accumulate reward points. Thanks to the bonus for signing up after two visits I've already accumulated almost 50 points. When I get to 100 I'll get a free small cooler! On my first visit the owner stopped by our table to talk to us and was friendly and engaging. In a humorous way they play up the feminine side of this restaurant. In the men's room there's even a sign that thanks you for putting up with it. As a guy I have no hesitation about coming here. I'm able to get a big scoop of tasty protein with some fresh fruit on the side. As far as I'm concerned this is a rock solid lunch choice.
