We have eaten at Slims a few times now. For the most part we like their food. The wings are tasty but not what we are used to because they use the entire wing with what my sister would call including the hopper. The malts are really good . Some of the fried things are greasy. I had the reuben sandwich which was ok but i missed the thousand island dressing on it. The philly steak sandwich is good. They need to correct the menu board because the prices are not what are posted on their menu board. read more

I had driven by many times and we finally stopped today for lunch. It was great. Friendly nice service and great reasonably priced food. One fish dinner and one grilled chicken with a split of fries and two malts. We loved every bite. They try hard and excel in my book! read more

My only complaint is the physical drive through lane. It takes a sharp turn to the right so it is tricky to navigate a big vehicle through and get close to the pickup window. Also you have to drive away from the main road after exiting then either whip an illegal U-turn or find another way to circle back. That being said, my wife and I have each tried several different menu items here over the past couple month and have not been disappointed in the least. This isn't "fast-food" and the toppings all appear/taste very fresh & crisp. The price is reasonable and you get decent value. Everything appears clean and well kept. Staff has been polite and helpful when we had questions about the menu. We will definitely be back in the next month and I hope some of you are too as it has never felt "busy" when we've been there. I have gone to Slims a lot, since i go to the college near it, and the service is great, you get greeted right away and the workers are friendly. I have only tried the cheeseburger, it is my favorite, the burger is always fresh and juicy, even though i forget each time to tell them to put the ketchup on the top, idk why they put it on the bottom but still, its so good! This is the only restaurant of its kind I've seen, and I just had to stop there after seeing it off the highway. For fast food, it's not bad, but Portillo's is better. Slim's has some unique items like gyros and mashed potatoes you don't often see at drive thrus. Had a shake or a malt which was pretty tasty. read more

The cheese curds remind me of growing up in Wisconsin. They use the white cheddar and it's a good quality. They are hard to pass up. The malts are fantastic, too. Their drive-though service is very quick and the order is not pre-made, so everything is hot. All the veggies are fresh and the burger is a great buy for the price. You get all the toppings, so if you don't like something, say so. Wait staff is always friendly. I have been there many many times and only had to wait more than five minutes once when they had a big rush. It's a great stop on the way home from work for a decent meal. Stopped in for wings. It's our thing to try. Loved the energy of the place. Staff was great and Bidear (sp?) was very attentive and made great recommendations for their wings. I had their seasoned wings and they were great! My hubby had the buffalo wings and loved them. He also recommended some sauces and there were awesome. Tried slim's the first time today and I was really disappointed. We had the grilled chicken sandwich and the philly cheese steak. On our play day, a good friend suggested we try Slim's for lunch. A big, bright. CLEAN building. Music was a bit too loud. I did enjoy the very eclectic mix of music styles which spanned quite a few decades. The young guys working the registers were friendly, efficient & professional, as well as charming & funny. How delightful! Apparently, they like working there & like working with the public. I ordered the bacon cheeseburger. Oh, my...really wonderful lean & not too salty bacon. Burger was tender & juicy. Just the right amount of cheese, onions, tomatoes & romaine -- NOT lettuce, romaine! The fries were perfect & plentiful. Crispy on the outside & tender on the inside, non-greasy & not too salty. My friend ordered the gyros & declared it wonderful. She said they had gotten the sauce just right. A young man who I took to be the assistant manager cruised through the dining area asking customers if the food was to their satisfaction. He noticed we hadn't started on our main events yet -- just munching fries & gabbing -- so he didn't stop by our booth. About 10 minutes later, he came through again. Since we were busily munching on our main events, he asked if everything was OK with the food & if there was anything else he could get for us. More condiments? Refills on our beverages? What kind of fast food place does that? Perhaps Culver's. One of the staff from behind the registers came out to clean tables. He also asked if we needed anything else...like ice cream? If we hadn't been so stuffed, we would have ordered ice cream. I am looking forward to trying their shakes & malts. The pizzas looked & smelled wonderful. Delicious food if you are into deep fried everything. The batter in the fries and cheese curds both include cinnamon which was a pleasant surprise. I had a gyro which is my favorite kind of food (Mediterranean) and though I asked for no tomatoes, there were tomatoes hiding under the quart of Caesar dressing. The staff over heard me mention there was tomatoes on the gyro when she brought the food to our table but I was all ready picking them off and I told her it was ok, it was too late; she yelled back at the Mexican cook who looked at ME like I had yelled at him and threw it in his face and told him to shove it! My deluxe cheesesteak was ok, not bad. I don't understand the hype about the fries. They reminded me of curly fries from Arby's or BK fries... not pieces of real potato, sliced and fried, but more like battered, wispy potato air. How could these be called "hand-cut"? Lazy employees with bad attitudes. The food was nothing to brag about, but it was the service that will keep me from ever returning. The girl at the register greets you with this "I hate you" look on her face. No hello, how may I help you....none of that. She literally just stared at me without saying a word. I will never patronize "Slim's" Again!...That place is so so Petty and need a lesson in customer service! I'm just speaking on my experience... I had a problem with my food! Do you know that the restaurant manager had the nerve to give me the run around about 20 Dolars? I don't won't there food I'm turned off by there service and the manager is so unprofessional... I am not into arguing at all... However; The manager wanted to argue with me about food that the cooks made a mistake on. I can't get my money back or the problem to be fixed? This guy had the nerv to offer me food after an argument.... Why? Why would I trust that? I'm not telling anyone to stop eating there however.. If you have a problem with your food.... Like lots or cigarettes..I couldn't believe that Slim's would hire him as a manager! This was the worst experience that I have had in a long time... Not to mention.. My husband is a pizza fiend - especially New York style pizza and I think he has been to most around the twin cities. We stopped here last week to check it out and WOW! my husband says it is the closest to the real deal that he has found in the metro area and that this was fantastic! All I know is that it was sooooo good! The crust was impossibly thin and crispy and flavorful and the sauce was sublime.
