Sloopy's completely updated their restaurant! Food is upscale and trendy in all good ways. House favorites are still on the menu, in addition to many other new dishes like the quinoa egg dish! I usually dine here for breakfast and lunch, but I am excited to come back to try their new dinner menu items. We started with the Zucchini Sticks and the Quinoa Amin Oeuf. The zucchini sticks were crispy and so delicious dipped in ranch. For our mains, we had the Mahi Tacos and Fish and Chips, which were so flavorful and beautifully plated on a wood board. It is so refreshing to see businesses enhance their menu to cater to their customers. It just shows how much passion and dedication this establishment has! read more

Service was great, but the food took over 45 minutes and wasn't even good. Ordered a "Lobster Eggs Benedict" and I ended up getting regular eggs benedict with a lobster tail on the side ‍ I guess I could've gone out of my way to verify but lobster eggs Benedict's are pretty standard so I assumed it would be correctly labeled on the menu. And unfortunately the regular eggs benedict wasn't even good It was salty AF and they cheaped out and put two poached eggs on one piece of toast instead of using English muffins. Came here yesterday with a friend, service was good, food was good, conversation was good, it was all good... until we ordered a mimosa lol I am still shocked that we paid $10 dollars for less than half of a small glass of mimosa. We love this place! Great customer service that is so helpful with our dietary restrictions and so friendly! Everyone treats you like regulars and because of this we really will be :) I usually order the chilaquiles and my husband loves the BLT. The perfect brunch spot. Sloopy's. Just the name alone has me smiling. Sloopy's Beach Cafe is just steps from the beautiful Manhattan Beach. Half of it is covered and half of it isn't so it's half outside technically. The cafe is small and cozy and they even have a fireplace near the corner smack dab in the middle of the tables. Unforunately, we had just missed breakfast so I decided on the Portobello Mushroom Burger. The picture does not do it's justice. The portobello mushrooms were so thick it was like they were grown on steroids. I was totally in shock at the site of these fat puppies. I couldn't even get my mouth around the burger because it was so thick. You get lettuce, tomato, and pesto mayo as your sauce. The tomato was so plump and juicy that it made the burger thoroughly refreshing. I also got a blueberry shake which was made super super thick that at times I found myself getting lightheaded from trying to drink it. Their were fresh blueberries mixed in the shake and they were frozen ice stiff from the cold temperatures of the shake. Sloopy's will be a regular spot for me whenever I'm in the area. It's in a very convenient area and you shouldn't have a problem finding a parking spot on the street. read more

Ahi Captain! Hoist the sails and get ready for an epic adventure in Seafood. The Seared Ahi burger is an amazing sandwich not for the faint of heart. It is massive and will definitely satiate your animalistic appetite. The interior patio is a nice change, in that it is still open air, so patrons can get the feel of dining inside, while abiding by COVID Protocols. I love Sloopys! This place is one of my favorite lunch hangouts in Manhattan Beach. They have a huge selection of wraps, sandwiches, salads, smoothies and shakes. Everything is freshly made. It's fun eating here. There is a cute little fireplace and a chair that looks like a wagon in the front. In the back they have a super cool outdoor patio where you are surrounded by hanging plants and tables that look like mini trees. I simply love this place. read more

After a tiring and humbling workout at the Manhattan Beach Sand Dunes, we ate a very nice breakfast at Sloopy's. We first tried to eat next door, but the wait was too long, so we ate at Sloopy's. I had the fresh strawberry pancakes ($7.25) and it was delicious. It also comes with fresh fruit and I was very happy eating the pancakes after my workout. The service was efficient and quick. First of all, I drove past this place for the first time yesterday and was immediately drawn to it. I came here on a date TODAY with my partner and I am in love. The atmosphere is heavenly, and the food is amazing. Best waffle I've ever had, it had like a crunchy crystallized bite followed by all of the pops of freshness of fruit - I even added pork shoulder bacon to mine. It was really disappointing having to leave this review but I think when you have a poor experience it also needs to be shared. As a local business I wanted to support another business for a large lunch order. It was disappointing when 11 out of the 15 meals ordered were not good quality. After speaking with the owner and sharing the experience the response was less than satisfactory customer service. To deflect, place blame on others and not come to an amicable accommodation is bizarre to me. All just my guesses. Better now What's really distinctive is ambiance. Former owner was really into plants and the old wood and hanging plants plus fireplace in front part give it incredible warm comfortable feeling. Great hidden place in back for added quiet. I met friend here for dinner after reading my foodie friend's reviews. Sloopy's looks like a new restaurant after a recent remodel. I love the decor. Lots of warm wood and a large variety of plants. When you are inside it feels like you are eating in friend's backyard. I ordered the mahi mahi tacos and a side of zucchini sticks. The tacos were excellent. Everything was fresh and delicious. The zucchini sticks were huge and they give you a very generous helping. It's best if you have a friend or two to share these with. The wait staff was attentive and friendly. Attentive, friendly, kind and has the biggest smile that makes this place super welcoming. There is a large fire pit in the center of the restaurant. Looks awesome and actually warms up the place. Our first ( and last) visit to this restaurant. After a walk along the beach went here for breakfast and it was extremely disappointing Server was friendly ( hence 2 stars) and my wife had the oatmeal which was the worst she had ever tasted. I had french toast, crispy bacon ( eventually after it was returned to the kitchen) and scrambled eggs that were inedible . we left most of our food on the plate but no-one asked why and i guess they didn't want to know Fair to say other diners seemed happy with their food and perhaps we just made the wrong choices on the day ...however will never return read more
