It is known for its ocean views, fresh air, outdoor patio, and all-day breakfast/lunch menu featuring items like breakfast burritos, avocado toast, french toasts, and sandwiches. All of their food and drink items are modest in taste, flavor and appearance just enough to satisfy your hunger and/or thirst. This cafe that is popular amongst cyclists, beach volleyball players and beachgoers. We arrived to grab a Sunday brunch. It's my first time here and was impress the unobtrusive view of the beach front ocean view. I had a Chicken x French toasts and Peet's coffee. And it was simple enough to have a decent brunch. Service was spot on. And their female servers were affable, assiduous and professional. Thus, I tipped them well. Parking lot is massive. Overall, I enjoyed the beach front ocean view and coffee but not so much on the food. read more

After dropping my parents off at LAX, we were looking for a place to eat, and this one came up. A nice drive to get there and it's literally on the beach. There's a huge lot and it's $8 to park (as of March 2026), and once parked, to get there you do have to cross a bike path and it was pretty busy so be very careful! He had "The Cure" which was a croissant with ham, bacon and egg and looked divine. He really liked it and I had the shrimp and fries, boring I know, but the shrimp hot & fresh, even though breaded, the cocktail sauce was amazing and there's a Fry's sauce that comes with the tater tots we ordered, and it was absolutely delicious, mustardy just so flavorful! Service was quick and l there were about six maybe (7/8?)outdoor tables, they also offer blankets, which I think is a really nice thing and water for dogs, but the refills are $2 apiece and they are smaller on the drink side so be forewarned. And in saying that, I will definitely come back even though they don't serve alcohol, lol. read more

The view at Oceans Cafe is unbeatable; every seat has an unobstructed ocean view. I love how they have blankets available in case the sea breezes get a bit too chilly. I had the avocado toast paired with green tea; very nicely done. Service was friendly and prompt. Pricing is average for beach cafe food. Stopped here with my son during a bike ride on a perfect January coastal day. It was basically the only option around once our hanger ways, right on the bike path by the ocean, which explains the steady stream of bikers rolling through. Small spot, simple setup, just a little patio with a few tables and a no-frills menu. My son had the breakfast burrito and really enjoyed it. I went with the chicken sandwich. The chicken itself was good, but Kurt Fry's sauce was overhyped for me. It's mustard-based and just didn't wow me. Not bad, just not what I was hoping for. I'd probably order something different if I came back. Service was friendly and solid. Food was decent, nothing fancy, but it hit the spot during a ride. You're definitely paying a bit for the ocean view, which is fair given the location and low-volume setup. Overall, it did exactly what it needed to do. Really crappy and slow service. I had to peer over to the inside of the building to make eye contact with the waiter who finally came out to see us. Very unfriendly, took 20ish mins for the cooks to make scrambled eggs and 2 bacons? The food was mediocre at best how can you even make scrambled eggs that are dry on the outside and ok on the inside? Don't get me started on the bacon... I was embarrassed that I brought a friend here and we had such a negative experience...did not tip because of the servers lack of facial expression or care. We had to ask for water... 0/10 read more

If I could give zero stars, I absolutely would. Our past experiences here were amazing, which makes what happened today even more shocking and disappointing. When we arrived, I asked for the fish and chips -- I was told they didn't have it. So I ordered a chicken salad for myself and a grilled cheese for my 3-year-old. After waiting over 30 minutes, I noticed everyone else around us was already eating -- including people who had ordered chicken dishes. I asked the waiter if we'd been forgotten. She said "hold on," then came back to tell me they had also run out of chicken. At that point, we had been sitting there with nothing -- and my child's grilled cheese never even came out. Not a word of apology, not an offer to fix it, nothing. ***side note: while we were waiting a guy next to us was ordering extra chicken strips and fish. I honestly don't know what just happened, but the whole experience felt deeply uncomfortable and possibly racially motivated. I've never been treated this way before, especially somewhere we've supported and enjoyed in the past. We left feeling disrespected, unwelcome, and extremely disappointed. We stopped at Oceans Cafe and Grill during our long bike ride, and it was the perfect beachside pit stop. The location is beautiful--right by the ocean. They even provided boho throw blankets for customers who felt cold, which was a thoughtful touch. The ladies were very nice and welcoming. We were in Southern California for the Jo Koy/Gabriel Iglesias concert at SoFi Stadium. We used Yelp for a breakfast location and found Oceans Cafe. The parking lot is big but it is a pay lot so be prepared for that. We found parking a few steps away from the restaurant. Be careful walking from the parking lot to the restaurant because you will cross a foot/bike path and the cyclists don't care if you're walking! The restaurant is actually an outdoor patio with the building being the kitchen area. There was a short wait for a table but we were seated with an awesome view of the beach and ocean! I had a typical breakfast of eggs, bacon, and toast. The food was very good and the coffee was better than I expected from a small restaurant. Visit this spot for a meal and then enjoy the beach! read more

Always a hit with me and my bff. We always have breakfast but we did lunch. Fish tacos are so good! And the turkey club with tater tots! The tots are light and fluffy! This is a great spot for a stop and bite to eat especially if you've been on the trail either cycling or walking. The view from the patio doesn't get much better. You have a panoramic vantage point of the ocean and as a bonus, can watch flights on departure routes out of LAX. They're located on a bluff and right off to the side of the bike path. If you want to come by car, a large parking lot just happens to be right there as well. Location counts for a lot in this case but the food and service as excellent as well. If it's morning, they have a nice breakfast menu, and the breakfast burrito hits the spot featuring a nice soft tortilla filled with scrambled eggs, mild salsa, sausage, bacon, shredded potatoes, and a Mexican/pepper jack blend of cheeses. Pico de Gallo, sour cream, and avocado (optional add) on the side. For lunch, we're talking burgers, sandwiches, and tasty fish tacos. The fish and chips putting in work as well. Need something lighter? Pick a salad option and enjoy it with a fresh ocean breeze (note: it CAN get windy up here). So there you have it. Good food. Great atmosphere. Outstanding Experience! We've been to Oceans Cafe and Grill about four times now, and our last visit was by far the best! As soon as we walked up, Chef Derrick greeted us with a playful prank, telling us the restaurant was closed--and from that moment, we knew we were in for something special. I ordered "The Cure" sandwich and... OMG! The crunchiness of the bacon, the perfect balance of flavors--hands down the best breakfast sandwich I've ever had. Chef Derrick even brought out his homemade jam and his signature beignets, which were absolute perfection. We've had other great items from the menu, as well. Chicken and waffle, pancake, etc...everything tasty. Just as every other review says, the ambiance, ocean view, outstanding customer service, and top-notch food quality keep us coming back--no matter the beach parking fee or the simple patio décor. The ambience is five stars!! I mean, what more could you ask Marin to sit over the beach and look at the ocean!? The service is five stars, in general, pretty helpful, and they keep your water full . I think the food here is not very good . I've been a couple times now and it's just so unworthy and or not great. This last time I got avocado toast, the bread barely toasted a little bit of avocado smeared on the bread which squishes the bread, the menu describes soft scrambled eggs on top, but you have a barely scrambled hard fried egg on top . Other than some chili flakes or just dry your teeth there is absolutely no seasoning that was used.. Soooooo..... that being said I still go here it's low-key, and it's relaxing. I've been coming here for years and recently it has gone downhill. They just raised prices again but portions and food decreased in value and taste. Went today to enjoy the ocean and have the hummus plate. It was about a $5 cup of hummus with dried pita bread. For over $20, a complete rip off. I'll tell you straight up: it's worth coming here just for the beignets and tater tots. I believe they're made from scratch, and you can taste it. The beignets are crispy on the outside, but melt in your mouth, and the tater tots are seasoned almost perfectly. The rest of our meal fell somewhat flat; The fried chicken was dry, and the breakfast sandwich didn't really hold its own. The smoothie was pretty good, but doesn't justify its $8 price. The view was very relaxing- it's hard to find a quiet place on the beach. If you come outside of the summer months, prepare for a lot of chilly wind! I typically don't order fried food but I wanted to try something a little different today. There was a little wait because of the location but 30 mins without a reservation to sit overlooking the ocean is not bad at all. The second time we've been here. The food seemed better the first time but was okay. The view over the ocean is just just beautiful while eating on the porch. It was a really windy and cool day and they had blankets available for anyone who needed one to put around them, which seemed unique and very nice. We will come back a third time this summer when less windy to check out the food. read more
