Smack Pie is the good for an after movie meal. I like that I get to choose my own toppings but I'm disappointed that they did away with the smack pack and now prices seemed to have gone up. They have done very well in their location so I'm not sure why they hiked up the prices. I like being able to see how my pizza is being made and add to it as I walk down the line. Overall it's a good pizza place to go to if your in downtown Lodi and it's close to cute shops and the movie theater. read more

Great staff & great food! Went in last night and they were swamped. Had our Pizza's done in 15 minutes? Most joints would be a 45 min wait time with how busy they were!! Staff was there to help figure out the concept and answered questions and the manager or maybe even owner was on it! Even offered me a soda for my longer then usual wait time. My husband and I are from big foodies San Francisco and we have finally have a Pizza joint worth bringing our friends to. Love the atmosphere and the patio is perfect for lodi summer evenings!! Two thumbs up. Smackpie has this Subway sort of approach, as you do sort of an assembly line ordering of your pizza. Went to get pizza and beer after a movie. Took a long time to go through the line even though there was only one person in front of me. On the upside the oven cooks super fast and the pizza is good quality for the price. Service needs a major overhaul! My first visit here was just ok. Walking in you don't get a feel of what to do if this is your first time. From where you have to stand in line to order your pizza in relation to where the menu is placed is difficult. I'd recommend the Manager place a smaller menu on the counter top where you place an order. There's a small, easily missed paper one taped to the glass. Once you select your pizza, you stand in a line, watch them build it, pay and wait. From the time I ordered, stood in line to pay and got my pizza was 30 minutes if not a bit more. This is a very Subway like set up. Seating is first come first serve...not recommended for large groups of people. Each pizza is barely enough for 2 people, intended for one. I tried this place for the first time 2 weeks ago for a friends birthday dinner. I was really interested to see how it worked and if it would be quality pizza. There is a place in SoCal that has in my opinion the best barbecue chicken pizza. I was worried about trying Smack Pies barbecue chicken because I unfortunately always compare it to my fave place in SoCal. Smack Pie knocked it out of the park. I love it. I also love it because my husband can get a pizza with all of his crazy toppings all less then a pizza from round table. I'm excited to see how this local business grows! It's hard to go wrong with build-your-own thin-crust pizza! Service was efficient, although not necessarily friendly. They played Disney soundtracks the entire time, which my kids liked. The place is clean, with accessible to-go boxes, and a variety of sauces to top your pizzas. We got our pizzas in less than ten minutes. I was a little apprehensive about the concept of Smack Pie...an assembly line pizza joint. The crew did not disappoint! My daughter and I decided to drop in on a Friday night and see how it was at peak time. I ordered a "Build Your Own" pizza and my daughter had a standard issue pepperoni. I got a chicken pesto pizza, and it was more amazing than I thought it'd be. This was my first time here so my friend and I were confused about the whole paying process. My friend stepped out of line and stepped back in to pay for our pizzas but the cashier shooed him away. We ended up waiting a good half hour and watched other people, who came much later than we did, walk out with their pizzas. Our pizzas came out a little less hot than we had liked but we were so hungry that it didn't matter. If Smack Pie was closer to me, I'd come here more often. :P read more

OMG....I am still dreaming of this place. Went to Lodi to spend the evening with my parents and they recommended we eat here. They had told me its fantastic and so we went. I loved the hipster ambience and the outdoor seating. There were options to make your own pizza or select other delicious pizzas. They all sounded so good. I chose the vegetarian pizza and opted to drizzle some roasted garlic finishing sauce on top. It was sooo flavorful, had a delicious aroma, fresh, and the thin crust had a very nice texture..I was very, very impressed with the quality. Next time I am going to try the margherita pizza that the table next to us got. Can't wait to go back next time I am in town! read more
