When I first tried Smackys about five years ago I was blown away and couldn't believe I had never heard of it before. The only bad thing about them is it's Monday through Friday and they close at three. Spicy reuben on the jalapeño bread or the smackattak are my favorites. You can't really go wrong. I'm still trying to get in the first Wednesday of every month where they have house pickled hard boiled eggs for egg salad sandwiches. They house pickle the eggs for the whole month prior. The owner told me they sell out every time early so I guess I'll take a day off from work to get one soon. read more

We were driving through Spokane, and needed to stop for lunch. My family and I choose to wear masks and we did not feel very welcome. It's a small sandwich shop and the staff took our order but for our 5 meals, they were moving really slowly. One of the staff members was greeting everyone else, given that it's in a small town, but we regretted giving them our business. The menu has a nice variety and the sandwiches are good, but the chips on the side are stale. read more

2 star? How could that be? It was a pastrami sandwich gone wrong. I got it to go and when I got home I found it was made with mayonnaise instead of mustard!!! WHO, in what world, puts mayo on a pastrami? I had to remove the bread, scrape off the mayo from the meat, which was plentiful and tasty, get my mustard and bread out and make a new sandwich. I will return because they do make great sandwiches, but I will let them know how disappointed I was! read more

My husband had to take a drive to Spokane from CDA and asked that I look up good places to eat. I came across this place. I'm thankful to all the yelp reviewers, they were right - great sandwiches! We ordered the Monte Cristo Torts (hard to find a good properly made one), the egg salad sandwich (recommended by a staff person), Albacore Tuna Melt and the spicy Reuben. All but the Reuben were delicious, with the Reuben being good or decent - just meaning not as good as the other three. I highly recommend both the Monte Cristo; well prepared as they are supposed to be along with the jelly as well as the powdered sugar. Plus the egg salad- thank you for recommending it and we see why they sell out so quickly! I'd recommend they leave the few chips they include out, they were soggy due to the heat/steam from the sandwiches not worth the cost. Best sandwich in Washington. Ok get two sandwiches and do halvesies. The Philly is more like Italian beef with a awesome topping of chopped peppers, tomatoes, onions, and balsamic marinade. Nice original sandwich shop located in one of the more industrial sections of Spokane Valley. Extensive lunch menu featuring all types of meat sandwiches. Amazing! We were driving through and the menu looked so tasty. Oh boy it did not disappoint. Amazing selection and value. The portions are generous and filing. We ordered a wrap, a roast beef and a kids sandwich. The wrap was so good I wish I could eat here a the time. The costumer service was excellent, everyone was friendly and hospitable. My Annual Visit to Spokane from So. Cal, first stop straight from the Airport is Smacky's. I crave it for months after leaving. One of the very few Authentic Delicatessens in existence Coast to Coast. Authentic in the sense that everything is fresh and every order is created with an emphasis on love and an abundance of goodness...my photo attached is proof!!! For the last reviewer....who happened to take the most amazing photo of the most amazing sandwich...who undoubtedly enjoyed it but still decided to speak negatively about.....masks?!?! I ordered the Pastrami Smackdown and my wife got the regular reuben (I say regular because they have different options). The staff was very friendly during pick up. LOVED our first time at smackys!! It really is a great hole in the wall like everyone says- you order at the counter and then they deliver your food. Our favorite side was the macaroni salad. The sandwiches come with pretzels and a pickle which is super unique. The inside is really neat looking ambiance. They have a dollar wall- ask them about that. It's been a while but thankfully, nothing has changed! Smacky's has their formula down pat. Excellent sandwiches!!! At a reasonable price. I usually can't resist their Spicy Ruben, but today I had the classic French Dip on a sourdough hoagie roll. With an extra 1/4 lb of meat! Usually the regular size is plenty for me but I was super hungry today. It was excellent, delivered to me with steaming au jus... I went back up for a little horse radish and, even though a long line had formed at the counter (noon), I was quickly provided with a side from the gal making the sandwiches. Located on Broadway in the industrial area, open till three for lunch. Its a no frills place with a lot of wall decor, a wide variety of sandwiches. The place is kind of dirty and the staff seems overwhelmed/upset. I wouldn't go out of my way to come here, especially since its overpriced for deli food. 11.50 for a sandwich and soda. Overall not bad, but the slogan "spokanes best sandwiches" is just plain wrong. Maybe it has quite the following from truck drivers but then again they're used to eating crappy food. read more
