Very cute park in Pittsburg. There is a lake, two playgrounds and a few rides that were out of commission. The area is hit by the sun quite often but otherwise okay. Bring umbrellas if you want a function here in the summer and stay cool. The fish in the pool will def leave the kiddos in a trance for a while. read more

Really nice park and great for parties. Catching crawdads is a fun and delight for parents and kids. Picnic tables/areas are easy to reserve (call during normal business hours). Unfortunately, all the rides are currently not in operation. No train, no carousel, no kid rides. The only thing that does work is the zip line and the playgrounds. SWP, please hire someone and fix the rides. Your park will have a lot more patrons if you hire someone to fix the rides. You can double the entry fee and people will still come if the rides are operational. Unfortunately if these don't get fixed, I fear this place may shut down eventually. Pro tip: Bring your own stick, string, hook (paperclip) and hot dogs to catch the crawdads. And Ask for discounts when making reservations. read more

I've passed this place a million times, I didn't think it was open. Our friends mom took her great grandkids a week before we went and she convinced us to go because of the crawfish fishing. I highly recommend doing this and getting a pole for yourself! My kids had the most fun fishing for crawfish and zip lining. The day we went the train and carousel weren't open. But this place is huge and lost of play structures and houses for kids to play at. Not to mention the cute spots for birthdays. I was admiring them as every spot had a party during the time we went. Keep in mind this place is cash only. I wasn't aware of it but thankfully our friends mom was prepared. Came again to visit last week. Yes - this place is old but still fun especially for those 3rd grade and under. You can't beat the price too! Still $6 for general admission or $3 for seniors or for little ones. Note there are only 4 rides in the park and when we came on a week day - the carousel and train rides were not working. Boo hoo - that was a bummer. Maybe they run on weekends only. Though I was able to ride on the ferris wheel with my 4 year and 2 year olds - yes it's a tight fit but fun. Warning - the whale ride is a little fast so your llittle one may or may not like it. If you buy the stick and hot dog pieces for $2 to fish - there are 2 ponds to try and see if you catch any crayfish. Be patient!! They are definitely there and hungry too!! read more

Interesting and fun park in the midst of Pittsburg, CA to take your children to! There are a lot of fun areas to let your children play. Once you pay the entry fee, all the rides are free. Our friend's 7 year old daughter loved the zip line area. You have to wait in line and usually the parents make sure the children take their turns. During the summer, there is a train that goes around the park and there is an area to have picnics and BBQ. We had the most wonderful experience having our daughter's 2nd birthday party here. Wow. I can't begin to explain how great this place is and what a hidden gem it is! Firstly, Elaine, the woman who runs the place and organizes all the parties, was so patient, helpful and easy to work with. Elaine is the bomb! She hooked us up with a party in the castle on the Sunday before labor day and it was such a great set up, because apparently most people thought it was going to close early that day, but last minute they changed the schedule. It didn't get changed on the website so there were not very many people at the park that day which was great! There are soooo many things to do here. Many playgrounds, different play houses, a zip line, a few rides (the train and carousel are down for an indefinite amount of time, but you don't even need those with everything else going on). If you rent the castle, you only get MORE things to do! There's a huge slide in there (it goes really fast, so rider beware), and there's an obstacle course type thing upstairs. The other incredible thing about the castle is there's a huge table inside with more tables on the outside area, air conditioning, a full kitchen, a BBQ, and a door out the back so at the end of the party, you can drive your car in to load up. The pricing is good! You get discounts if you're bringing over 15 people and then a further discount over 25, I believe. There were so many steps along the way that I was worried the calculation of the reservation or the tickets wouldn't be done right. Or we wouldn't get our deposit back from the city. Everything went so smoothly!! We got all our money back, we were always charged the right amount. I honestly was mad that I hadn't used this place more for my kids prior 6 birthday parties. So don't delay! Have your birthday party there now, you won't regret it. read more

This is a new discovery cute place nearby! Small amusement great for kids of ages 2 to 10. We love this place for our kids ! I can honestly say that this small is reasonably priced better than the other small amusement I know nearby that goes by tickets. I love how you pay for each person to go in and all rides inside are unlimited for kids. They have lots of cute playgrounds too and cute little ponds and river streams. This place has a nostalgic feel too reminds me of when I was young. I also love how you can reserve a party here for a good price . Only thing is wish that tickets were included with the reservation fee for the spot for all the guests. And maybe if they can add a few more rides inside. This is a truly hidden gem! Small World Park is the kind of place you'd expect to find in San Jose or Oakland - wait, they already have one. But this is in Picksburg? Wow. It's a small-scale park, with several rides, several play areas, several party areas to rent, several places to fish. Geared toward the younger set. And for the majority of parents who are low on cash, the prices are small-scale too. It's somewhere between a neighborhood park and Oaktown's Children's Fairyland. We finally went, and come to find out that my daughter is already near the upper age range of who it's built for (she's 7). A birthday party was held here. The girl's grandmother booked the Party Palace, and was amazed at their rental price for 2 hours: "Because sometimes I'm involved in renting rooms for the women's ministries for the church, and over the hill [Concord] we have to pay around $300-400 and still need to provide our own tables and chairs, and this was only $55 for residents for 2 hours. They want a place where residents who don't have a lot of money can rent a room to have these kinds of parties." It looks rinky-dink, but the kids don't care, they'll ride the rides all day. We didn't have or see any incidents, so I don't know first-hand how they handle wild kids or dangerous adults. So Small World is another place where, if you keep your expectations in check, then you'll do fine. read more

It's the best local place to take your kid for a bit of extra fun. Great prices!! Compared to pixieland which is 10x more and less fun.

I'm a bit attached to this place because I used to go here a lot when I was younger with my family and my classmates back in elementary school. This place still has it's charm to it too. I see little kids running around, heck even bigger kids (no teenagers unless they are supervising) running around too. I'll even say that I ran around today here. ON THE SPOT RUNNING BACK AND FORTH AFTER MY BROTHER. What a workout! Entrance fees are cheap: $2 for kids under 12-14 and for seniors and the like. $4 for adults. $1.25 for wristbands to use for all rides all day. Cash only though! You get stamped so you can have in and out privileges. Lots of different play structures. They got one that's built like a boat. There's another one made to look like this wooden town. There's another that's like a castle. It's super cute. For rides we got a merry-go-round, a train, this spin on a car or a boat ride (not sure) and this zip line too! The zip line was the hit of the park. But my favorite ride wasn't even an official ride. Basically it's like this wheel. You sit inside of it. Hold on for dear life as people spin the wheel. So you're rolling in the wheel. Like you're in a tire. It's nuts! Their food stand wasn't open for some reason, but that's okay. They allow people to bring in their own food. Parking is best on the opening hour and maybe two hours after. It can get full pretty fast. If it does, they'll direct you to overflow parking. I had a grand time! 5/5 read more

Small, but fun, this park is great for taking the kids for a few hours to play on a carousel, zip line, go down a slide, and ride a few other simple rides. I was able to ride in a ferris wheel with my 1 year old daughter for a few minutes, which was very fun! They have some wide open areas that would be great for children's parties and birthdays. There is a couple of small snack vendors, though we didn't buy anything so I'm not sure what they sell. There is also a train to ride in a circle around the park. I recommend sitting in the far back, away from the noisy engine and gas smell. Avoid the mistake we made :-) It's $6 per adult, $3 for any kid older than 11 months (free if under 11). There really isn't TOO much stuff to do here, but considering the price, and how kids can entertain themselves fairly easily in this place, I'd recommend checking it out at least once. I can definitely see myself bringing my kid here 1-2 times a year. Only downside was we saw a bit of the Pittsburg ghetto here. Heard several people cussing, dropping F-bombs, a woman wearing a shirt indicating she's a pot head, and another dad with his daughter wearing an IPA Lagunitas beer shirt. Not exactly what I want to see at a child at a small children's park. I'd hardly complain if they instituted a "Don't wear drug and alcohol related clothing to the park" policy, which I think would be a good idea. This park is one of those "3 stars is too low, 4 stars is too high" places. I wish Yelp would allow people to rate businesses 3.5 or 4.5 stars for example, but until they do, I'll go with 4 stars. This place is so hard to find but it's tucked away. For the price of admission, which I can't really remember but I know it was extremely affordable. You can what you pay for. The place is a little run down but it's got a decent amount of rides to entertain my 5 year old - wouldn't suggest for kids over that age range. I visited Small World Park with the little ones and had a great time. There are about 5 rides lots of open picnic space definitely bring a blanket to sit on the green grass. There was at least 4 play structures. It appears they allow outside food as no one was checking bags and they have lots of BBQ pits around the park. The park was really clean. I saw 1 vending machine. There is a restroom. I'm glad this little gem exists. Also, the train was out of service super disappointed but I had a good time. First time visiting here with my husband and 2 year old daughter. My only regret is not coming sooner. This place is perfect place for toddlers our daughter LOVED the carousel and train ride. The staff is VERY polite they answer any questions. Light concessions are sold there such as bottled waters, sodas, chips and candy. I love this little theme park! (So do my kids, ) it's super cute, they have great family events for the community and are reasonably priced! $3/kid & $6/adult. All rides are free and the workers aren't worried if your kid wants to stay on for to go another round. They have a snack bar, and prices aren't too bad. Fair compared to other places. I love that they have tadpole fishing poles (bamboo stick with a string - paper clip & cut up hot dogs as bait.... the tadpoles absolutely love it) for $1.50! It's super relaxing to sit on the grass and "fish" with your little ones. The park is big, has a good variety of rides and cute little houses for kids to run around and play in. Lots of benches/sitting areas. If you follow their Facebook page, you'll stay up to date on all the events they hold there. I'd say kids from 1-7 would love it here. Not so much for older/bigger kids because they might get bored. Still, it's worth it. read more

My family and I went to Small World Park with a large group. We were not there for a party, just something for the kids to do. I have a 3 year old and twin 2 year old kids. My friend that went with us brought his 7 year old. They had a blast! The kids LOVE to climb all over things so the boat, the rope course, the play sets and the Fort were great. There was also crawdad fishing and rocking/bouncing toys to ride on. The park had a couple of rides that were wonderful for the kids (a whale ride, a small Ferris wheel, a train that travel around the park and a carousel). My husband and our friend got hungry so they stopped at the snack bar building. We were actually pleasantly surprised that the prices were reasonable. Other parks charge way to much, but Small World Park did not. They got Nachos and only paid $3.00 for them. As we were walking around the little lake there were signs showing three new play areas for the kids that the park would be building this Spring. My kids cannot wait to go back and for the inexpensive admission fee my husband and I have no problem taking them back! read more

My husband and I just found out about this place last week when the Pittsburg PD held the annual National Night Out there. We live like 10 minutes away and we had never heard about this place! So when my brother and his wife and 11 month old came into town, we thought this would be perfect for them. There were several birthday parties going on when we got there which was great that so many people were taking advantage of this park. The admission tickets were also really cheap so it's easy to just pop in for an hour or 2 if you want. The rides were super cute and great for tiny children. She was able to go on the Merry-Go-Round, Carousel, Whale Ride, and train and she had a blast! The only thing is I wished they had some sort of carnival music around the park and while the rides were going. Other than that, it's a great little hidden gem in Pittsburg. read more
