I visited another food chain and decided I wanted something sweet as well. Small cakes was in the same plaza, so it worked out perfectly. I was greeted upon entering. The place smelled amazing, and everything was really clean. My son and I chose the red velvet cupcake with pecans on top. It was really good and moist.

A little expensive but great cake! The girl on the phone told me I couldn't place an order over the phone, so I just went in and placed an order. They had all the cakes I was looking for. The service was friendly and polite. Clean shop. They even have puppy cupcakes for the doggos.

I was very pleased with my pre-order from Small Cakes Vinings. The online order process is easy and fast, and everything was ready for me when I arrived to pick it up two weeks later. I did have to call to double check they had received/processed the order, as there's no communication after the initial auto-generated email confirmation. However, luckily everything was ready on time and the party guests loved the cakes.

I came across them on Instagram and since they were only 15 minutes from me, I said why not let's go grab some cupcakes. I had the strawberry cheesecake cupcake. It was soft, sweet, moist, and delicious. I had my eye on red velvet. I will be back! Follow me on IG @miss_mekad to see the video.

Walking in I was immediately greeted with a warm welcome and asked if I had been here before. I was shown the display case with all of their wonderful cupcakes available to purchase. The lady at the counter was friendly and patient since I was undecided on the four cupcakes I was looking to purchase. I decided and she quickly boxed them up for me and I was back in my car woofing down my first cupcake in the parking lot. It was moist and the icing was not a lot nor not too sweet for me. Just the way I prefer. I am saving the other three for when I get home this evening. . The dining area was bright and colorful which makes you feel good if you were to dine in and have cupcake while there. I will be returning to try their other selections of cupcakes and cannot wait.

The empty was the decedent fudge - A1. Others are snickers, cookies n cream & strawberry. All cakes were moist.

It's been a few years since I had Small Cakes but I was reminded with the first bite why I love them. I got four cakes for my sweet tooth - decent fudge, cookies n cream, Snickers & strawberry. The fudge went first, I felt like Brucey biting into that cake, it was so moist & chocolatey! I'm a chocolate lover so it wasn't too much for me. The cake to icing ratio is good IMO. All the cakes were moist and yummy. My only knock is that they've gotten expensive over the years (like everything else), I spent just under $20 for my cakes. More than I wanted to spend but at least the quality is there. Service was good, one young lady at the counter & she greeted me when I came in. She was also patient with me while making my selections. Plenty of parking in this shared lot, but be careful as people tend to speed through the lot.

I have wanted to try this place for a very long time but never really had the excuse to, so when the opportunity presented itself I went for it. I'm a huge sweets person but I'm also very opinionated about sweets. I got a box of four cupcakes that contained various chocolate flavour mixes and although they were all very good my favorite was the s'mores cupcake. I will say I was expecting something too sweet and rich but it was very light and not overpowering as far as flavours. The cupcakes were most and melted in your mouth. I will definitely be trying some other flavours.

Due to the shelter in place order my favorite cupcake place was closed and I wasn't able to get anything for my birthday. I drove passed and saw small cakes open and decided to give them a try. Since I've never been here before I only bought 1 and decided to try the strawberry. While the cake itself was moist and super sweet it had lackluster flavor that was missing something but I can't seem to put my finger on it. I'm willing to go and try another flavor but they don't have much of a variety with loads of chocolate options that I don't eat.

Smallcakes has a variety of cupcake flavors that are fun to try. Each come with their own unique tasting experience. This time I had the mimosa cupcake and a chocolate almond cupcake (cant remember if that was the official name....but it was chocolate cake with chocolatey-almond flavored icing). The mimosa had an orange flavor true to its name. The chocolate cupcake had a great balance where it wasn't too much, but rather just right. Admittedly, I ate both at the same time and they tasted better when I mixed the two. One bite of orange cake + chocolate icing, then one bite of chocolate cake + orange icing, and so forth. To some my ability to eat this much may be grotesque, but in reality my mixing of flavors is genius. Smallcakes feel free to reach out to me for taste tests. ;) They have 4 stars because the sweet balance between the cake and icing is slightly off. It's a hint away from being too sweet...and this is coming from someone with a high sugar tolerance. (This is based on me tasting one cupcake at a time, prior to my mixing revelation.)

Stopped by last minute to grab a cupcake. Not many selections at the time I went. I selected a pink chocolate cupcake. The cashier that rung me up was attentive and polite. I haven't been in so long, it's a reward system recognized by your phone number. Last time I've gone, it was a card they marked off/ punched thru on each visit. It's been a while. Oh well I signed up. Lol. The cupcake was moist and tasty. It's generally, for me, a lot of icing so Ive always cut my cupcake in half (across) and cut the icing in half and place that half of icing on the half piece ofcupcake. Works for me. I would definitely be back if I get a sweet tooth.

For the best in the cake business in the Atlanta area, look no further than Lush Cakery! I…read moretypically never, ever care for wedding cakes... They're usually nothing special. But cakes from this shop are crowd-favorites! Everyone at my wedding raved about the cake, even months later people still brought it up. I highly recommend this business.

We had a great time tasting cakes with our wedding planner, Jordan Flowers of Wedding Belles, and…read moreKathryn ("Kat") Steed, sole owner and cake maker at Lush Cakery in Marietta. Jordan recommended Lush Cakery to my fiancee and me (our planner does not accept kickbacks, but instead passes on any discounts she may get on to us) and that is enough praise for me. My fiancee, through her own research, noticed that Lush Cakery has had a hand in a lot of nice weddings in Atlanta. She absolutely loves the look of Lush's cakes (she describes them as beautiful, fun, and creative). I asked Kat how many weddings she did last year and she told me, if I recall correctly, 185 (all by herself!). She doesn't plan on doing that many per year going forward, but she definitely has the experience and is well known in the Atlanta wedding community. Kat moved into a cute space just off Marietta Square a couple years ago. There's a retail space, open four days a week, and a tasting room, available by appointment only. The shop can also be booked for small events like bridal and baby showers. Kat was waiting for us promptly at our appointment time. My fiancee and I were accompanied by our planner for the tasting. The tasting room was quaint and charming. It reminded my fiancee of an attractive sitting room, like something you would see on HGTV. We got to know Kat and she got to know us. She let us swipe through cake designs on her iPad while talking to us about our wedding, our tastes/visions for our cake, and how our cake would align with our wedding overall. For example, we talked about the season of our wedding, whether it's going to be indoor or outdoor, etc. These kinds of things can affect the ingredients and flavors of our wedding cake. There was a menu at the table with Lush's most popular wedding cake flavors. We tasted the following six flavors: * Salted caramel * Amaretto white chocolate red raspberry * Triple chocolate hazelnut * Grand Marnier strawberries and cream * Cinnamon * Cream cheese pound with lemon curd Kat had the first five flavors in the list above ready to go on a plate for each of us. The last one was requested by my fiancee who was interested in trying the lemon curd after seeing it on the menu. My eyes lit up as I bit into these cakes. What impressed me most about them was actually not their flavor, but their consistency. Every single slice was perfectly fluffy and moist. They were tender and delicate with good crumb. Flavor-wise, they were sweet, but not too sweet. My favorite flavors were the salted caramel and the strawberries and cream. My fiancee's favorite flavors were the amaretto white chocolate red raspberry and the triple chocolate hazelnut. My fiancee thought both the strawberry and cinnamon tasted delicious, but were a little too simple for her tastes. The cream cheese pound cake with lemon curd was outstanding, but we agreed that we liked the lighter, less dense textures of the other cakes for our wedding cake. Everything we tried tasted great, so what it really came down to here was personal preference. We want a classic, elegant looking cake so Kat suggested a traditional three-tier round cake. We'll have it decorated with flowers from our florist, Julie Coffin of Unique Floral Expressions, who is one of the rock stars of the Atlanta wedding industry and whom Kat has worked many weddings with. We chose our cake and icing flavors, along with a fun design extra, and were quoted under $700 for our cake (tax and delivery included). The cake will serve 100. We'll have more than 100 guests, but there will be other dessert options too. Kat's quote is about $200 higher than another quote we recently received, so Lush is on the higher side. However, the other quote did not include an extra design element and the Lush quote also includes a "complimentary" anniversary tier a year after our wedding. A $150 non-refundable deposit is required to secure a date. We received Kat's proposal via email quickly after our meeting. My fiancee had a question and it didn't take long for Kat to respond. All in all, this was a wonderful experience. Now we just have to make a decision! Throughout our wedding planning process so far, this has turned out to be the most difficult decision yet.

This spot is in walking distance to my home. However, If you are driving, it is at the rear of the Vinnings Jubilee shopping center. There is ample parking directly in front. Walking in you are immediately greeted with pink and white everywhere! It's such a girly spot and they have some cute photo ops available. The cookies are in a glass case on display. I came around 4pm on a Wednesday and the shelf's were Leaning towards the empty side. Each option only had one or two cookies available. I opted to try the chocolate chip Oreo cookie! The staff rang me up and upon request provided me with a napkin. I had every intention of trying this the moment I sat down in my car. The cookie was such a pleasant surprise! Admittedly, my initial perception of the cookie was that it was firmer than I like my cookies to be. However, when you bite into the cookie it is soft. The surprise for me is that this was a chocolate chip cookie with an Oreo baked into it! Yes, a full Oreo. I don't know why I was expecting Oreo bites kind of like the chocolate chips. Let's just say that this was a hit!! I love the fact that we have a new cookie spot in our hood. I look forward to patronizing this cute spot more in the near future!

While it's hidden in the back of the Vinings Jubilee, nothing about this place should be kept a secret. I walked in and was immediately taken in by all the sweet treats on display and the super cute decor. Lots of pink and white and big fancy chandeliers all over which was a nice backdrop for all the cookies, cupcakes, cookie bars, and other goodies. The young lady greeted me once I entered and was ready to help me. She answered a couple of questions I had about what items they had but I ultimately settled on an m&m cookie ($2.75) and a red velvet cupcake ($4). They do have some other things like cups and napkins for parties, flavored popcorn, and even some cookies that were being sold at a cheaper price. You can also place orders for custom items such as cupcakes and cakes as well. My husband enjoyed the cookie and said it was very fresh and full of m&m candy. He appreciated that the cookie wasn't overly sweet and said he'd definitely like to try some other things. I devoured my cupcake in one sitting and loved it! The cupcake itself was classic red velvet and wasn't overpowering with the cocoa flavor. The icing was delicious and creamy and also was overly sweet. Just a really good combo and I'll definitely be back!
