Most of the week, they have a pretty diverse array of cupcakes and rotate them everyday. And the employees are always so helpful and nice! So. Just picked up custom cupcake flower from this location. When I placed my order, I said I needed the flowers to be blue with white center. I picked up order and the guy who prepaired said in very short tone.."It didnt say what type blue and I assumed you didnt want like Blue. I took order because I could tell this wasnt going to end well. Got home and when saw how off it was from my blue Called and told guy this wasnt going to work. I needed blue not light blue. His response, "It didn't say what color." I asked didn't it say blue? He responded that is blue. When I said I needed to return and get a real blue arrangement. I was told I can bring it back but i would be charged for replacement. I didnt argue because I wouldn't want him touching my food at this point. I ended with...am not going to argue and thank you. I picked up half a dozen cupcakes to spoil a kid from my job since I have none of my own and enjoy all the extra money I save from not having any; I like to show my appreciation and give back a little to those that do have rug rats. The place looks great, and boasts a very impressive array of all kinds of cupcakes that I wanted to vacuum into my mouth upon seeing them. I asked for an assortment of 6 and she mix and matched the most kid-friendly cakes. I was a little shocked at the price of 6 amounting to just under $20.00. I am sure they are worth the price to a cupcake connoisseur, but I don't think my cupcake palette is refined enough for that price. I like benefiting from a 6 or 12 package deal, but I understand that this place is not a chain and is more of a specialty shop. As for the two cupcakes I hoarded for myself after the kids mauled at them, I have to say the cake part of the cupcake was delightful. Not too cakey, and moist enough that I didn't have to drink milk immediately after just to talk normally again. This sweet cupcake chain is a very nice addition right down the street from Robins AFB. They offer a military discount and that is a welcome feature for this military town. I have been here a few times and I can say that 98% of the cupcakes I have tried have been delicious especially the key lime and lemon. They rotate their selection but if you want a specific cupcake you can call ahead and get it. The reason why I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is that their $1.50 cup of coffee is Keurig K-cup coffee and that is just too pricey in my opinion for a darn kcup coffee! read more

I have visited this shop several times since it opened spending, overall, well over $100.00 on cupcakes in just the last few months. While pricey at $3/cupcake, the cakes and frosting are amazing and I will continue to spend and recommend. I usually think of the cake as simply a "frosting delivery system", but this cake is so much more. Cupcakes were moist and fluffy even after a few days on my kitchen counter. Frosting is crazy-sweet (which I love!) size is a little bigger than most cupcake chains. I have tried several Smallcake varieties and have not been let down yet. Mostly standard combinations available, but some inventive creations (salted caramel, key lime) too. Vanilla/pink is my fave. Staff is young, but cheery and pleasant. They filled two special orders of non-standard items (mini cupcakes and early pick-up) on different occasions without a hitch and were nice to work with. The people I shared with raved about them! So I had Smallcakes prepare a dozen jumbo cupcakes for my baby's gender reveal this past weekend. Let me just say, I was so incredibly impressed with all of their help in preparing this order. I wasn't sure exactly what I wanted at the time, other than strawberry filling for a girl or blueberry for a boy (it's a BOY!). Everyone who helped out were very knowledgeable, offered suggestions and recommendations for flavor combinations and the order was ready exactly when I asked. We ended up with a simple vanilla cupcake with cream cheese icing and pink/blue sprinkles...they weRE DELICIOUS! Everyone at the party enjoyed them, but unfortunately there were none left by the end of it. I couldn't be happier having chosen Smallcakes to help my family and I celebrate this special moment. Every Time I go in I can't help but buy more than I can possibly eat and end up feeding them to friends and coworkers. There's always something new and creative. Customer service is as good as it could possibly get. Gentleman that assisted us was very nice and informative. Each question I asked he explained and made each one sound very appetizing. I got a bundle of 6 cupcakes red velvet, cookies and cream, and my favorite key lime pie!! for 6 it was about 17$ so a little pricey but definitely worth it! Got the lemon cupcake and red velvet and I liked them both. The cake was super moist (sorry if you hate that word) and delicious and the icing was good too. I didn't rate them at 5 stars because the lemon cupcake was not lemon flavored really- it had a dot of lemon custard/pie filling and that's it, but it was still a good cupcake. This update is in reference to the new location on Lake Joy. The last time I went, I just wanted one of their medium sized vanilla cupcakes, but the girl working kept trying to push the gluten free vanilla cupcake, among other things. I kept telling her that I just wanted that one cupcake, but she kept on pushing to the point of being annoying. I felt like I was in the Twilight Zone when after the exhausting transaction, the manager/owner guy slid the cupcake over to me and said "thank you". I politely told him that I hadn't planned to eat it right away...I was driving, could I please have a bag. He told me that they didn't have bags, so I asked for a box. He told me that he didn't advise using the box because "if it tips over, the icing will slice clean off". At this point, I was exasperated and trying keep from being a smart a**. I calmly told him I'd take my chances on the box. I'm glad to say that the cupcake made it all the way home, icing intact. I've had their cakes a few times before, but this was my first time actually stepping into the shop. The store itself was incredibly clean and it was what I imagined a cake shop look like. This is probably the worst bakery I've been to. They kept harping on the fact that everything was homemade, but it tasted just like what you'd buy at Publix for three times the cost. I may have to take my business somewhere else after my experience yesterday. I love to buy my friends cupcakes as birthday presents or just simple gifts. Yesterday I went in to buy three cupcakes that I wanted boxed separately, and they tell me they were going to have charge me a $.75 "box" fee. Now I have been buying cupcakes there for a while now and never have I heard such a thing. This really infuriates me. The cupcakes are expensive enough but NOW I can't even get them boxed separately without being nickle and dimed!!! By the way, there was NO sign that I could tell, warning people of this. Had I come three separate times I would have been able to get my cupcakes without the box fee!!!! But because I ordered them all at one time I get penalized!!!? Then worst of all was the response I got when I inquired about the reason. He says something about having to go "out of his way" to separate the cupcakes!! Really!!!!? This is your job!!!! Its not like I ordered 20 cupcakes!!!! And I feel even if I had, I should be able to have them separated for the ridiculous amount of money I have to spend on them!! Needless to say, I was very disappointed with my experience.
