This was a cute little place with a nice selection of flavors. I was really impressed with the young lady at the register, who knew exactly what ingredient was inside each cupcake. Pros: cute location, lost of flavors, nice and clean. Cons: cupcakes were heavy, cake to frosting ratio was off, cupcakes were oily. The frosting was so heavy I had to take half of it off. I was not a fan of these cupcakes. I've only ever heard good things about them and finally I was able to try them. I must say I was quite disappointed. I know that cupcakes are supposed to be really moist but these kind of just fell apart when you bit into it. I had cake crumbs all over my chest. They looked delicious but The texture of the cake and the way the icing felt in my mouth let me to believe that they were just old. Maybe even stale. Some of the frosting tasted like Crisco. I stumbled across this place while on vacation with the family. My granddaughter and I walked into this place and just fell in love! The decor is made for a princess and the display of the cupcakes was spectacular. I had a lemon drop cupcake as well as a miniature sampler pack. Pricing was fair. $3.50 for a jumbo cupcake and $5.00 for the sample pack. We got some cake pops as well, I don't remember how much we paid for those. Now to the taste. The cake pops were delicious! They have a really thick coating of chocolate on them but that doesn't bother me. The cupcakes I thought were just average. The taste reminded me of a box cake recipe. I'm not saying that it was, I'm just saying that's what the flavor and texture reminded me of. I think it would have been better if the cupcakes themselves were flavored and not just the icing. All of the cakes were vanilla and chocolate with just different flavors of icing. I would revisit for the cake pops and the ambience. read more

I've been to Georgetown Cupcakes and Small Cakes is just as good. No more need to travel hundreds of miles to Georgetown! We purchased six cupcakes for $20. Albeit, they are expensive pastries, they do live up to the hype. My favorites are Coconut and Vanilla Cream. We'll be back. read more

These cupcakes were the bomb! We tried several but what really stood out on this outing was the Lemon flavored one and especially the Watermelon!!!!! I figured this would be another place that is pink and cute with overpriced, "meh" cupcakes. I was wrong. Got a lemon cupcake. It was divine. The cake was moist, the filling delicious, and the frosting was perfect. It was beautiful and tasted as good as it looked. The cupcakes did not disappointment, but the service did leave something to be desired. Upon entering this location, I was greeted and helped with my selection of cupcakes. Everything was going as I am accustomed to until it was time to check out. I was provided my total and I handed the cashier my credit card in her hand. When it was time to return my credit card to me, she smacked my credit card on the counter with so much force that the noise caught the attention of other patrons. I was appalled. It is a known gesture of being disrespectful to return someone's card on the counter when the card was handed to you. Just moved to Williamsburg and spotted Smallcakes one day when I was shopping for some things for my new home. I was so hungry, so I knew I had to stop by this place. It was a Sunday afternoon and no one was in the shop. I was greeted when I walked in, and I spent a little bit of time looking over the flavors since I had never been before. Idk why but I felt rushed to make a decision. I chose peanut butter chocolate for myself and butter cake for my fiancé. We loved them both. They are very similar to cupcake that we get at a shop where we are from but are at a fraction of the cost. These cupcakes are huge and they are piled high with icing. I cannot say enough about my delicious, creamy, and rich peanut butter frosting. We will definitely be back in the future to try new flavors. read more

Went looking for a small treat for my husbands birthday. I became overjoyed to see they had a Tiramisu cupcake. (My husband loves Tiramisu.) A friend and I recently visited Williamsburg and happened upon Smallcakes while shopping. The atmosphere is wonderful, the customer service was spectacular and the cupcakes were the best I have ever had...in my life!!! We were fortunate in that they had some extra of their mini cupcakes left and fixed us a little variety pack. My friend commented that she could just eat the cake, forget the icing! Brownie Blitz and Boston Cream are my favorites. We even went back before we left to come home and bought more! Two made it all the way home and my husband LOVED them too.
