Unfortunately we came across a mini emergency where one of our circuit breakers did not turn back on, after shutting off the electricity for other home repairs. Even worse was that circuit was utilized by the fridge and controlled electricity to half the kitchen. We were very lucky to get in touch and have Joseph stop by the same day (very lucky within less than 1 hour of calling). He was able to quickly diagnose the faulty breaker switch and repair the issue, as well as point out identifiable past/potential future issues given the age of our home. Contacted Smart Electric because I needed some electrical work done right and up to code. I normally don't use Yelp however I assumed I would get a few different quotes. Smart Electric was the best quote and the easiest to deal with. I called Joseph, told him what I wanted and he made it happen. I dug the trench myself and his guys did the rest. They ran wire, hooked it up to panel box, put in a new sub-panel, wired up my sauna, wired up my existing hot tub to the sub-panel box and put in a couple outdoor outlets. Heatpump Installation I did the traditional get-three quotes thing and got reasonable results from all three suppliers. Smart Electric was prompt, professional and more than competitive. They were able to quickly schedule the installation of a Mitsubishi heatpump, and an electric water heater. The installation team included Beau, the gentleman who did the site survey and quote, which meant he really knew the gear and the challenges (our home was built in 1915.) I had an electric forced air heater (one of two running off the same thermostat) that's fan was going bad and the unit was getting pretty hot. I'd called a couple of places, in three days, none had returned my calls. I called Smart Electric. Talked to Sammy, their coordinator. She said she'd call me back to see what she could do. Within 15 minutes she called and said Keith was on a job in Seattle, but he'd try to work me in that day. She said if there were any issues, she'd let me know. She said if it was a go, she would call when he was available. After about half an hour, I got a call from Sammy. Keith wanted photos of the heater and any identification I could find. About an hour later, Sammy called and said Keith was on his way from Seattle. From the photos, he'd figured out what unit I needed replacing. About forty minutes later I got a call from Keith. He was here with a replacement. Keith dove into it and it only took him a few minutes to remove the old unit and replace it with the new. The heater he took out had was tagged. It had been installed 22 years prior. I'd read and Keith confirmed that that with normal use they generally perform for about 15 years. When we tested the new unit, the other unit came on (being on same thermostat). The noise it made in comparison made me wonder about replacing it. I also had a bad thermostat in a secondary bathroom baseboard. Keith suggested that if it would work for me, he would put me on standby to take care of those two items. I agreed. That was Monday. Thursday I had the other heater replaced and the new thermostat working. Smart Electrics/ Sammy and Keith's responsiveness was impressed me most. Keith's knowledge and experience made knowing what needed done and what parts specifically were needed and were helpful for me to understand what was going on and why. After receiving 5 bids to install a generator and new electrical panel, Smart Electric provided us with the most comprehensive and professional bid. Their first bid was virtual and they were highly prepared for that. Second ,they sent out two of their electricians to confirm the bid. Once the permit was issued from PUD they set up an appointment. Not only were they on time but they texted 30 minutes prior to arriving and again 5 minutes prior to arriving. 3 guys came out and worked through the day to install our generator and new electrical panel. They were professional, organized and when they were finished they cleaned up the site. We were very impressed and will 100% use them again for electric/heating and air needs. Based on Angi, Yelp and Google reviews, we chose a couple of well-reviewed, Generac-certified companies to come out for estimates for installing a whole-house generator. Given the amount of house/property that we wanted to power (our house, septic, well, mother-in-law dwelling, etc.), both recommended the 26kW and both were about the same price for installation. But we liked Joseph's knowledge, honesty and responsiveness to our email/text questions afterward, so we went with Smart Electric. Lead electrician Keith and crew were prompt, friendly and professional throughout the installation on the day we had scheduled. A wiring issue required Keith to return for several Saturday visits, and we appreciated his communication and determination to make sure we were completely satisfied. I called Smart Electric because I had two issues. #1: I had two outlets on my kitchen island that didn't work while the dishwasher in the island and all the other outlets in the kitchen work. He simply told me to locate all the GIFs and reset them. Once I did that the outlets worked again. Holy cow. He was able to figure out the problem without even looking at anything. Problem #2 was my washer that would keep tripping the breaker. The last load I did the breaker tripped five times. This one was a bit more difficult to figure out. He told me to send him a picture of the circuit panel, then instructed me to plug it into different outlets with an extension cord and run the washer. By the end he was able to tell me that the problem is more than likely my washer and not any electrical in my house. Again, without looking at anything in person. He saved me so much money but when I asked him what I owed him for his expertise he told me nothing. Obviously, that didn't fly with me and I've been able to Venmo him.
