I contacted David and dropped off my machine for repair. During the consultation, I met Kevin, who informed me that the group head needed new gaskets. Initially skeptical about having work done on the group head, I agreed. Today, I picked up my machine and met David. He's much friendlier in person, lol. We discussed the work done (extension cord was replaced and changed from a 16 gauge to a 14 gauge and group head gaskets replaced), then we talked a bit about other espresso machines, coffee beans, and grinders. Then I left. I'm extremely happy with HiTech Espresso's work. When I got home, I fired up my La Pavoni and pulled my first espresso shot. The lever was so smooth and easy to use. Thank you, Kevin, for your help and recommendation to address the gaskets in the group head. I appreciate that it's a personal business, and the fees are reasonable. I presented him with a Machine with several problems that took three trips back and forth to finally fix. (I contributed to that by not bringing the special water hose.) I stood by his side and watched him do his genius. He not only found the issues, he also spent all the time necessary to make sure he lived up to his reputation. If you are lucky to sit in the garden and have a chat and meet his charming cat Chester (that loves to be rubbed under his chin) you will discover just how interesting and competent this man is. I had to call to find out who they were and sure enough when I reached them, the same horrid voice answered the phone. Did he help. Of course not. They are just too happy to do anything. They are cheap so stores use them. Do yourself a favor, whenever you are going to have something delivered or repaired call whoever is in charge of this nightmare and tell them you will not have Artin at your home--like ever. They are rude, obnoxious, make a mess, don't clean it up and break things. I have a Purple Bed, which is new. It has a massage function which of course requires a motor. It never worked like the one in the store. We waited a few weeks, went to the store to make sure I was right, and then asked for replacement of the motor, which is under warranty. First it took weeks for Artin to get in touch with us, I had to call Sit and Sleep and complain. When they finally called they were booked for weeks and then the one day they had we were to be out of town. It took them almost 4 months, I kid you not, to finally show up. When they did arrive they were in plain clothes, no marking on their truck at all. I had to ask for a business card as they never introduced themselves "We are here to fix bed." They were late. They called to say they would be here at 1:00. When they did not show we called and they said, maybe 2. They showed up at 4:50 pm, outside of their 4 hour window. They came in and torn apart my bed and placed a dirty, greasy, metal pad right on my very expensive sheets. It is the pad they use that has orders in it. They tried to replace the motor and twice it was making so much noise I could hear it in another room and they were scratching my hard wood floors. I asked if all was okay and then said they would get it right. They put the motor in and said they were done and wanted to leave. I said let me check it. The new motor (which I don't believe was new--not in a sealed box) did not work at all. They started pushing on the bed and said "Maybe it work." I said no and tried it again. It totally failed. I asked them to put the old motor back. They did not want to. I told them to put the bed back the way it was. They put the old motor back on, which now barely works. I asked if they were going to correct the bedding back to the way it was. They said, "You do." They then told me they were hired by a different bed company. I then got upset and told them they made a mess and the motor is bad. I am not happy with this and no I won't sign your slip that says all is well. One of the men (again they would not tell me their names) said, "And I don't like dog hair!!." Just Oh my God. I have a dog. She was outside the entire time except for less than 20 seconds when she got in and went to say hi. I grabbed her and took her out. That was 20 seconds or less. Now the dog does have hair. He was petting the dog as I was grabbing her. These people and this company is the worst. The company that retained them should know better with all these horrid reviews. That company is Ergomotion. Whether I will have to deal with them again, I don't know as I called Sit and Sleep. I can say that no one from Artin will ever be allowed near me again.

My husband called over, talked to Mark, the owner and felt reassured after their conversation because he identified the issues just over the phone. We stopped by one day and dropped them and met Mark, who is very nice, knowledgeable, a real professional. Not many like him left behind! Too bad that is a profession that is going away. You don't always feel like throwing out equipment that has an issue and get a new one, not always that easy for your set up. Everyone has their reasons! The place is in Burbank, on Burbank Blvd. (close to the Hollywood Way intersection), we found street parking in front. The store might seem small, but it goes all the way back! It's a geek electronics paradise, lots of audio equipment around. Mark also did work for major musicians like Van Halen among many others - check his photo gallery on the wall! Famed clients! We left the VCR-s, called in about 2 weeks and he fixed them, he was testing them to make sure! After a few days we picked them up, he checked them for us, and he gives you a 3 months warranty which is great. If you're in a rush, this might not work out since Mark is busy, but if you're patient, he will get it fixed in a few weeks. It's not cheap, but he gets high quality parts and it makes sense for the repair to last. If you have an old piece of equipment that needs to be fixed, Mark is the guy. Hurry in before he retires! He is very nice, kind, nice to chat with, reassuring, calm, and very, very knowledgeable, you will trust him on the spot. Closed in the weekend!
