Hi, Based on my previous experience, I was very hesitant to leave my dogs at this daycare center for overnight boarding. However, the management called and reassured me that the issues I faced before would not happen again, so I decided to give them another chance. On May 16th, I had an early morning flight and needed to board my dogs early. I called the front desk the day before and received permission to drop them off around 6:00 AM. Since the front desk staff arrives at 6:30, I didn't have the opportunity to fill out the overnight boarding form and feeding instructions. As soon as I landed in Seattle, I called the front desk and provided the necessary details. They instructed me to fill out the online form, which I did, specifying clear feeding instructions and checkout details. On Sunday morning, as I was returning, I called the front desk at 10:30 AM to inform them I would be delayed by 30 minutes and requested that my dogs be bathed and dried for pick-up. The front desk person bluntly mentioned that no check-out time was shared, so the dogs were not given a bath. I was stunned to hear this since I had confirmed the departure date and logged all details properly. When I arrived, the dogs had been bathed but were not dried properly and reeked of urine smell. I paid my dues and asked for the food bag I had provided. They mentioned that my dogs were fed house food, which was incorrect. I explained the situation and confirmed that I had updated the form and verified the details with the front desk staff on the day I dropped off my dogs. I expressed my concerns to the manager on duty, Grant. He mentioned that one of my dogs was given the food I had provided but couldn't explain why the other dog was fed house food. He went inside and returned with a bag of dry food. When I asked about the remaining food, as I had provided enough for both dogs, he said he was unsure. Frustrated with his lack of knowledge, I decided to leave but asked him to follow up with the details. Additionally, one of my dog's leashes was missing. As I was leaving, Grant came outside with three of the eight bags of food I had provided, which still didn't add up. He apologized, but this level of negligence is unacceptable. Brought a newly adopted Yorkie to their half day doggy camp to socialize with other dogs. Enrolling was easy, requirements were easy to complete and the facility very clean and safe. Love being able to watch your pet on a camera for the complete visit. I highly recommend and we will be back. read more

Not the Barkley since they took over. Dirty. My dog never smelled after a whole week at Barkley. I sent my dog for daycare and he came back stinky after 4 hours. They nickle and dime you to death. Can you believe they charge YOU to use your own food. I brought on individual sandwich bags of our own food, with instructions on feeding, 2xs a day, yet they charge 6 dollars a day for me to use my food. 13 dollars extra per day for an extra walk. They dont let you know about hidden fees or last minute fecal tests for your pet that they will make you pay for in house upon arrival. When we picked up my dog he was sick for 5 days after throwing up and bad bathroom situation. After calling multiple times to see what had happened or what was causing my dog to be sick they finally admitted that he had thrown up at their facility and did not care to inform me when we picked him up. After a $400 plus boarding for 3 nights.. and $300 vet bill they did not compensate any of it. Never coming here again!!! read more

I recently dropped off my 5-month-old puppy at SmartParke pet daycare for an evaluation since I was planning on leaving him there while I was out of town. The staff told me to come back in 2 to 4 hours, and the receptionist provided the login information for the live webcams so I could check in on him. About an hour later, I decided to check the webcam. The first camera I saw had the larger dogs, and I noticed a woman standing in the center of the room with a spray bottle. I felt a pit in my stomach and was concerned for my pup's well-being. I then checked the other cameras and found the small dogs. I saw all the small dogs gathered around a man in the corner of the room, his back facing the camera. He was not interacting with the dogs. Instead, he was doing something on the wall or to the wall. As I watched, I saw my puppy try to get the man's attention; the man back-kicked my dog, not once, but twice. I was devastated and immediately called the daycare to inquire about who was with the small dogs. The receptionist said she didn't know, and I informed her of what I had just witnessed. She put me on hold. I panicked and rushed to the daycare to rescue my puppy. Upon arriving, I spoke with the manager, who denied the incident. I told her to look at the footage. She then told me that the cameras do not record; interesting, I thought aloud. She then commented that I seemed upset. Do you think??? I had just witnessed an employee of their pet care facility kick my 5-month-old puppy. They were slow to get my dog from the back, and he was clammy when she handed him to me. I was crying, and they did not seem the least concerned or bothered. I told them I would file a police report, which I did as soon as I got home. I am still waiting to hear from someone from SmartParke. I never received an apology. No one has called to see if my dog is okay. My heart aches when I think about how my puppy was abused in daycare. No animal should be subjected to such mistreatment, and it is the responsibility of the facility and its owners to ensure the safety and well-being of all pets in their care. I trusted these people to care for my puppy, but they let me down; they let my dog down. If I could give zero stars, I would. read more

This is our anxious pup & how she's been coming home after her day at Smart Parke in Corona. She's a rescue and they come with an unknown past but I have a feeling hers included abuse. She doesn't take well to new humans and it takes time to earn her trust. They have been so patient to work on that with her and she's slowly coming around. Day one she hid in a corner and after a week she followed the other staff and dogs. I even witnessed a sweet moment on their webcam of her wagging her tail when staff switched over. I think she has some favorites. She still won't let them touch her but that was progress. So grateful to have them in our town. read more

I've experienced this place for only 2 overnight boarding. They lock your dog from 7 pm to 6 am in a room without taking them to a potty!!!!! My dog barked and groaned the whole entire nights and they didn't care about him. When I called the front desk the day after to complain about it, they said we have 80 dogs overnights and we can't look after your dog a lot!!!!! What a piece of shit response!! They charge everything one by one separately but can't take care of my dog???! Now when he got picked up, he came back with lots of drooling and white foams which I brought him to his vet and he said his tongue is irritated because of licking chemichals. my dog Lucy boarded there for 3days and2 nights for the first time. it was clean staff friendly and available.They have a variety of plans that you can pick and choose from. what put me at ease is seeing my dog on the web cam interacting with others dogs (she can be shy).I ask the staff is there away I can keep my cost down and they helped a lot . Will not be back. After reading the other Yelp reviews, I see now that the same issues have been going on for quite a while, with our dog being only the latest victim: ***Edit*** 6 days after picking her up, our dog is now sick with Giardia. Runny diarrhea and vomiting. She has not been around any other dogs before or since boarding her at Smart Parke. More veterinarian bills coming my way! We had to cut our vacation short to return and pick up our dog early after observing what can only be described as neglect on their live cams. We watched for hours and hours as our dog sat alone, in her own urine, barking and howling continually with no human contact, even after we paid a premium for "cuddle time". They shut the phone off after hours and all weekend long, so there is no way to contact anyone with our concerns. The staff is young and apparently inexperienced (for the most part), and the night crew is there to clean the facility, with no physical contact with our dog that we could see. We dropped off a healthy 6-year-old Beagle and 5 days later we picked up a dog that had no voice and swollen paws. She had trouble standing up, walking, had a pronounced limp, and kept falling down as her back legs collapsed. We pointed out the issues to staff and were quickly told that there were no issues reported, so she was OK. After a $260 visit to the vet, we called and spoke with Grant (Manager), and he spoke like he was concerned with our situation. He called back and said he had investigated our claims and told us he found that the cuddling did not work out, so offered us a small credit for use in the future. (They have a 'no refund' policy.) We will not be going back, so we requested that he donate our "credit" to someone who can use it. read more

We recently boarded our cat, Mittens, at Smart Parke, Corona, and the experience was fantastic from start to finish. My wife handled both drop-off and pick-up and couldn't stop raving about how clean, well-organized, and welcoming the facility was. She even said she wished we had discovered it years ago! Mittens was clearly well cared for during her stay--happy, healthy, and relaxed when we picked her up. The boarding prices are very reasonable, especially given the high level of care and attention provided. If we weren't moving out of state, we would absolutely continue using Smart Parke. I am writing to express my concern and frustration with the poor customer service I experienced at your CORONA location on November 21, 2024. We dropped off our dog, Hazy, at day camp as we have for the past five months. Unfortunately, while en route to pick her up, we were delayed by two hours of traffic. We called at 7:14 PM to inform the team of our expected arrival at 7:50 PM. Kirsten, your employee, informed us that the doors would close promptly at 8 PM for safety reasons and that no exceptions could be made, even by the manager (Ray Teran). As our ETA shifted to 8:03 PM, we were told Hazy would need to be boarded overnight, despite us explaining her sensitive stomach. Her indifferent response, indicating Hazy wouldn't receive breakfast, left us wondering if she had even been fed dinner after being at the facility since 8 AM. When we arrived at 8:03 PM, we were met with unprofessional behavior. Kirsten stared at us through the door without providing any communication or clarity about next steps, such as completing necessary boarding forms or discussing Hazy's dietary or medical needs. This policy about late pickups was neither communicated to us during enrollment nor outlined in the materials we received. This lack of transparency, combined with the staff's dismissive attitude, was deeply disappointing, especially as this was our first late pickup. As loyal customers, we expected better communication and professionalism. I thought after speaking with the manager I would feel better but that wasn't the case. He basically blamed his employee Kirsten for sticking to the "policy" and said she should have shown better customer service. Again, if this is a policy of theirs why isn't it on any of the materials we received? He was so nonchalant throughout the conversation; I had been told he will call me the following day to go ahead and run the refund. I never received a call. I had to be the one to call him and follow up. Again, this was such a disappointing experience and will definitely not be returning. read more

Had high hopes for this place. Unfortunately I don't think I would take my pup here again. He was there for 5 days. I was never able to see him on the private suite cam due to angle problems. I don't even know if there was a water bowl. On the last day they bathed him and cut his claws so short that he bleed for a couple hours afterward. Please don't take you dog here. read more

Our 4 month old Westley had a great time in daycare and first overnight boarding at Smart Parke. It was a modern and well maintained facility. We appreciated the indoor/outdoor access the dogs got to enjoy. The staff thoughtfully planned the schedule to keep a balance of activity in the play areas and ensure the dogs got nap time in addition to play time. It was also nice being able to keep an eye on him during his stay through the webcams. The only thing we found a little disappointing was the $3 daily add-on to feed him his own diet rather than a "house diet." It can upset a dogs stomach to change their diet abruptly, so that seemed like something that should have been included. read more

Email I sent on 8/24/24 based on same day experience- "I am reaching out regarding my dog Watson's initial temperament assessment and four-hour stay. I brought him in this morning at 9:30, and immediately had high hopes. The employee who checked him in and took him back was kind and helpful. An hour later, I received a phone call that I wasn't able to answer right away, but listened to a message from another employee informing me that Watson was doing well but had sustained some scratches. She informed me that there was nothing to be worried about, the scratches weren't bleeding, and she was just updating me. I called back and spoke with her- she again assured me that they weren't deep, she'd cleaned them to be safe, he hadn't bled, and that it was due in part to dogs initiating play and vizslas having "thin skin". She'd also said that in the voicemail, which I found odd, as I've never heard them described that way by anyone. Ever. My Grandfather has bred vizslas for decades and I confirmed with him that they do have thin coats of hair (shorthairs) but not skin. When I arrived shortly before 1:30 to pick him up, I was expecting to see red marks as the "scratches" but was soon extremely disappointed. I'm attaching images so you can see for yourself that the description provided was incredibly misleading. I'm aware that Watson was and is not bleeding out, but the information provided in voicemail and in conversation over the phone was basically a lie. He did bleed. And even if these are scratches from another dog pawing at him, it happened at least three separate times, as there are marks on both sides of his body, and another mark on his chest. This leads me to wonder about your team's definition of "rigorous screening process". Your FAQ page also states that the screenings are "scheduled appointments with one of our Day Camp staff members"- why did this staff member allow the scratches to occur three separate times? The website was clearly misleading in creating the idea that a staff member would be dedicated to monitoring and screening my dog's behavior during interactions with other dogs and staff. No one there knew my dog- he could have been aggressive and this same lack of actual "screening" could have led to a different problem. Overall, I am not only disappointed by the lack of supervision at this initial "screening", but I'm also quite upset about the misinformation. I suspect the employee who left me a voicemail and later spoke with me on the phone had first conferred with a supervisor or manager and was provided directions on how to describe Watson's "scratches" and "thin skin", as the man who brought Watson out later also provided the same information with similar wording. I know my dog is more submissive and non-confrontational with other dogs, and I had observed him (via live video feed) consistently moving away from the same large black dog that was trying to push up against him and mount him. But I had hoped that the supervising employees would keep an extra eye on Watson to help him warm up to the other dogs, especially since it was his first time at the facility, his temperament "screening", and this could have led to another paying client. However, in light of the poor supervision (which has to have been permitted by a lack of proper management) and false information, I can't imagine sending Watson back for an even longer stay, especially considering this was the free version. DON'T BOARD YOUR DOG HERE. If I wrote this review a year ago, I would have given five stars. I used to believe that this place was clean and cared about animals, but after boarding my yellow lab there for six days and the HORRIBLE condition he was in when I picked him up, I realized that they do not have the best interest of their clients at heart. I had boarded him there in the past and sent him to daycare as well, but this time something irritated his paws so badly that he licked them incessantly, causing them to be raw and swollen. The night I picked him up, he was walking as if he was a 16-year-old dog who could barely stand and he is only four years old. I asked the person who brought him out what happened and was told he had been like that for several days. It is unconscionable that he was in such excruciating pain to the point where he could not put any weight on his feet for several days and could barely walk and no one called me. Even worse, no one did anything to treat him for the pain and the inflammation. They left him day after day to suffer and continue licking his paws and making it worse. There's a large staff there and no one bothered to do a single thing. It makes me sick to my stomach that he had to suffer in pain for so many days. I would have appreciated a call. My expectation is that the people I trusted to care for him would've done just that. It was obvious he was in pain and he could barely walk. Additionally, he came home with a skin irritation on his chest and conjunctivitis in his eye. When I called to talk to the manager, I was told I'd have to submit receipts from the vet before talking to the manager and that she was too busy to talk with me. There was no interest in providing any customer service or talking to me as a longtime customer about the experience and no concern for my dog. Nevertheless, I asked for a call from the manager and two days later I have not received one. Not even to ask how my dog is doing. As a former longtime and loyal client, this is beyond unacceptable and has shown me what kind of business this truly is. It's not about caring for dogs. It's about profiting from them. I waited two days before writing this review to see if the manager would call me, so we could reach a resolution. And because I really do like some of the people who work there but overall as a business, they are not interested in caring for your pet at the end of the day, it's about the bottom line for them. It pains me to say, but I would not recommend this business. If I could give this place a negative rating then I would do so without a heartbeat! I cannot express this enough when I say PLEASE read and listen to all the negative reviews and bewares about this place and their service. This place does NOT care about your pets and the workers here are beyond rude and have a horrible attitude. So I brought in my little Pomeranian today for a groom and a little trim, the worker up front behind the desk was helpful and assisting with me. She handed me a form and asked me to fill it out with some information, after I filled out the form, I handed it back to her and specifically asked her if she could let the other workers know that I just wanted a SMALL trim and nothing too big or noticeable on my dog. I made sure over and over again that she got the idea and even showed her a picture of what i expected so that she can let her workers know. She kept reassuring me making sure that I was going to get the outcome that I wanted and to not worry so that's what i did, I put my trust in her and the workers and that's where it went downhill. When I got my dog back, he was completely shaven. EVERYTHING was gone, there was a little bit of blood coming out of the side of his stomach, AND he was crying/whimpering. I didn't even notice my own dog when I came to pick him up. I was completely mortified. I asked the front lady what happened to my dog and why does he look so different from when I dropped him off compared to now when I'm picking him up. I asked her why my whole dog was shaven when I specifically showed her a picture of what I wanted & expected. She was really apologetic and proceeded to tell me that it was completely out of her control and she tried her best to let the workers know that I wanted a small trim on my dog but they refused to listen to my request and decided to do things their own way. I was pissed off at that moment and demanded to speak to the person who shaved my dog. The lady left to go find the worker and came back with the girl who shaved my dog. I asked for her name, she rudely said "Sorry, but I don't have to tell you my name" I was in distraught and asked her why she completely shaved all the fur off my dog, she proceeded to tell me "Ma'am that's not my fault, your dog wouldn't stay still". She kept speaking to me in a rude tone and wouldn't take any accountability of her mistakes. Even the lady behind the desk asked the girl to apologize and she still wouldn't dare to say a simple "I'm sorry". Instead, she scoffed and walked away whispering "Her dog was f-ing ugly anyways." I became heated but tried to keep my cool because the worker behind the desk was really apologetic and even had to apologize on her co workers behalf even though it wasn't her fault, she offered me some sort of compensation but I refused because I will not be coming back to this location. I asked her to give me the name of the rude girl who shaved my dog and she said Heidi. Heidi, you are extremely rude and beyond disrespectful and you have no idea how to care or look after a dog yet alone take accountability/responsibility of your actions. I hope the manager or owner of the store works harder to train you because your customer service and attitude was not it. This is a beware for that girl and anyone who is thinking of taking their pets here for a trim or a groom. They show no affection to boarding dogs. Watching the videos of my boyfriends dog was heartbreaking. He was there for 3 weeks. Barely got touched. Only 1 girl seemed to be kind to him in the play area. He lost a lot of weight there. They charged an extra $15/day for a full week because of Memorial Day holiday. I could understand over Thanksgiving and Christmas, but Memorial Day? When he picked his dog up there was no thank you for using us. No review of the dogs stay. They just handed him the leash. That's it. They don't allow any personal possessions for the dog. No toys etc. But you can pay $5 for their Kong with peanut butter. We won't be back. read more

Worst place to take your dog. She was dropped off and was literally registered 2 days later, literally on the morning we picked her up. Provided instructions on feeding in writing; was underfed each meal by a significant portion. Uncommunicative staff. Uninvolved in play time (viewed via webcam). Did not answer the phones or emails. Went to the site after hours to check on my dog due to lack of communication and no Webcam for my dogs private boarding and continually signaled to the staff that we wanted them to talk to us. They walked past us. Sometimes, they walked in our direction or pointed at us, then ignored my husband and I. All we wanted was for them to put up the Webcam as promised. We wanted to check on our dog while we were out of town. I understand that it was a holiday and they're closed. But there is no emergency line or anyone to at least acknowledge our multiple attempts to communicate. Moreover, my dog was put in a room alone after paying for individual play time. She was in a bare room as her "suite" (a small cot and a linoleum floor with holes in it). It's a pretty sad place where I'd never come back. I had my dog there for a full day of doggie daycare so I could attend my grand daughter 's kindergarten graduation. My sweet dog is a shelter rescue and suffers from separation anxiety so she has to be with people or other dogs in order not to suffer anxiety attacks. When I scheduled with Smart Parke, I was quoted $46 for a full day so I signed her up. The bill was $56. When I called about it, I was told it was for lunch and dinner...I had taken her food to them for 2 meals! I was told that "that was their policy". This place is way too expensive. I will have to make other arrangements. I dont mind paying a fair amount but they didn't do anything with my dog other than let her play with the other dogs. This was ridiculous! read more

These people are scumbags. They requested our dog's vaccination records 3 days before the stay. She had all vaccines except for a lesser known one called DHPP. So we had to cancel. They kept the entire $150 deposit as 'store credit' because we didn't cancel over 3 days before to get an actual refund (they send the vaccine email a day before this deadline).
