I don't usually leave reviews, but I want to forewarn other pet owners for the safety of their animals. My dog contracted kennel cough after staying at this facility. This was my first time ever boarding my dog. I went away for five days for my sister's wedding and spent nearly $1,000 trusting that he'd be well cared for. The next day after picking him up, he began coughing and vomiting foam. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I reached out to the facility right away to ask if anything had happened during his stay, but received no response for days--only after multiple follow-ups requesting to speak with a manager.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] By that night, my dog was crying while vomiting and struggling to breathe, and I knew something was wrong. I had to rush him to the vet for emergency care. Thankfully, he's now being treated and recovering. I asked the business to please cover my dog's vet expenses at the very least and sent them the bill. They have not confirmed or denied they can offer anything which I find very bizarre. In good faith you should offer a discount or cover SOME of these bills to show you care and are sorry this happened to a new customer. [[HIGHLIGHT]]What made this even more upsetting was the lack of accountability and communication from the business. They refused to provide answers in writing and insisted I call them instead--after everything that happened, that felt dismissive and unprofessional.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The manager even mentioned his own urgent care visit during the conversation, which was completely irrelevant.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I also later learned that their contract includes a waiver stating they aren't responsible if your pet becomes ill under their care. That, combined with how my situation was handled, tells me this facility is not safe or accountable. I also have an autoimmune disorder and weakened immune system and felt chest sickness, sore throat and illness after my dog got sick. All of these medical visits and bills were the last thing I wanted when I got home to my normal responsibilities. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Constructive feedback-- if you make pet owners sign off on illness they could incur at your business, educate them on what to do should your pet contract it.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Half of the problem is being worried, confused and unprepared to handle the issue at hand. Had I known to get an antibiotic at the occurrence of coughing it would have been less scary. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Also, refusing to respond by text if you extend that line to your clients, and demanding they call you to receive any kind of answers about what happened at your business is frankly ridiculous.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This was an extremely distressing experience for me and my dog, and I hope other owners consider this before trusting their pets here. Apollo was boarded here last weekend and he enjoyed himself ! We still give them 5 stars !! The only thing I wish they could do is: change the camera in the suite so you can see the entire room. The angle of the camera can't be adjusted so you don't see everything. And Apollo was out of view most of the time. Could only see his paws lol. And I wish they were able to let you know on the report card if they pooped/ peed. But other than that he loved it ! read more

My dog has boarded here multiple times over the last year. At first I was drawn to Smart Parke because they have an outdoor yard for the dogs and also because of the webcams to watch the dogs. What I have to come realize over the course of this year is that the dogs are hardly ever in the outdoor yard and the dogs who are boarded get even less time outside because boarded dogs spend 85% of their day inside their "suite" and not playing with other dogs. Current price for standard boarding is $82 and that includes only 4 hours of play time for the dog. So your dog is in their "suite" for 20 hours per day. Of course you can always upgrade your dog to a full day camp experience for an extra $22 per day to make the boarding night total over $100. That being said, the staff is friendly at least. read more

Only take your dogs here if you plan on watching their live webcams the entire time. We took our dogs to boarding for a few days. One of our dogs is on medication. We left very specific instructions as to which dog gets the meds. I happened to check the webcam a few hours after we dropped them off and saw an employee shoving a pill down my dog's throat but it was the WRONG DOG! They switched their collars and had our dogs mixed up. I felt helpless being far away from home. I spent the next couple of hours talking to emergency vets and poison control getting instructions. If I hadn't been watching their live webcam at just the right time I wouldn't have known they were giving medication to the wrong dog. It would've went on for my dogs entire stay which could've led to one or both of my dogs getting seriously ill or worse. As if this wasn't bad enough the next day I checked on my dogs webcam again only to see vomit, diarrhea, and pee all over their room. I gave them the benefit of the doubt (big mistake) and figured someone would see it and clean it up soon. Wrong! I checked the webcam again several hours later only to see all of the vomit, diarrhea, and pee still there. I literally had to call them to ask them to clean it up. Did I mention this was my daughter's wedding weekend? What should have been a special day for my family was tainted by stress and anxiety worrying about the health and safety of our dogs. The icing on the cake was when we finally were able to get our dogs out of this awful place one of our dog's butts was completely covered with dried poop. Also wanted to add that all 3 of my dogs were diagnosed with kennel cough a few days after they came home from boarding. read more

I brought my puppy (under 5 months old) here today for an evaluation before enrolling him in doggie daycare. I was excited because they offer a live webcam where owners can check in. Unfortunately, what I saw left me very upset. Around 2 p.m., I noticed on the webcam that my puppy was humping some other dogs. A staff member pulled him away the first time, which was fine. But then, the second time, she grabbed his mouth shut and lifted him up so the other dogs could smell his stomach and private area. The third time, after he was humping another dog, she again grabbed his mouth shut. I managed to take snapshots of the second incident, which I will attach here. My puppy is still very young and learning, and while I completely understand that his behavior needed correction, I do NOT believe the way this staff member handled it was appropriate. I went to pick him up early (around 2:30 p.m.) and brought up what I saw. The front desk girl was shocked and told me that is not how they're supposed to correct behavior issues. She said she would escalate it to the store manager and show them the pictures I took. The evaluation was free, so I didn't expect compensation, but honestly, a follow-up call or email to acknowledge the situation and offer an apology would have been appreciated. I did get an "I'm sorry" at the front desk, but that was it. I'm sharing this review because while the facility itself looked clean and the concept is great, I feel strongly that pet owners should know how young puppies are being handled, and management should follow up on staff training and appropriate correction methods. read more

One week with 2 dogs was over $3,000. I was punished for having a dog who can't attend day camp. Charged $60 extra a day!! They charge you the same for each dog even when sharing a kennel. They charge you extra to bring your own food which is crazy since I bag it and individually label each feeding. Also not good dog practice to switch your dogs food but again getting charged for this is such bad practice! No care for the dog just the dollars! read more

My dog last time she was at Smart Park for three nights, got pneumonia and we had to take her to the vet ER. We spent over $2,000. We thought we'd take to her to Smart Parke yesterday. It's it's been a years since this happened, but after reading the reviews, I feel like I need to put my review in. A lot of dogs are getting kennel cough in this facility apparently. My dog had previously boarded there a few times without issue. He got extremely sick in less than 24 hours from pick up. I had to take him to the emergency vet at 3 AM. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The next day, I called their facility and told them, as the vet told me we have to notify the facility. When I told them, they just said OK and did not offer any explanation, or anything for that matter.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This was a super scary incident that could've turned worse according to my vet. I am looking for a new place now since I haven't boarded them since then because I am so afraid of having to relive that experience. I hope they read this and figure out how to keep our pets safe. Nobody wants to see their dog end up with kennel, cough for no reason. Recently, I brought up to my vet that I was looking for a new place , and I wasn't going to Smart Parke due to the kennel cough incident . The vet techs turned to me and said "they all get kennel cough when they go there", so this tells me that the issue is bigger than it should ever be. I've had numerous animals in my life that we have boarded, and this has never happened anywhere else. I understand that this can occur, but after reading reviews of this happening quite regularly, it concerns me that more needs to be done. read more

Saying otherwise is a lie. * You claim dogs are "matched by energy level." That is not true...there is simply a large dog area and a small dog area. * In the footage, my 55+ lb puppy was zooming at full speed for several minutes with no staff visibly supervising him or stepping in to calm things down. That is not safe play. * He then ran inside, went briefly out of camera view, and reappeared injured and bleeding. The vet confirmed it was a bite wound that required staples. I was waiting to update after a while. After the second stay, the manager came to speak with me and made sure the stay was as expected, but I didn't want to judge right after this experience because that was only the right thing to do - they made sure my stay was better. The second stay, I got a report card with how she interacted with the dogs and if she ate her food. It was cute. I didn't receive this on the first stay or my third stay. The third stay, she came back not smelling of urine. I appreciated it, but the lack of inconsistency did not warrant a full 5 star since I didn't receive that report card on the third stay. All in all, I'd still bring her here since the price is reasonable and she gets to go inside and outside throughout the day. read more

Can you believe they charge YOU to use your own food. I brought on individual sandwich bags of our own food, with instructions on feeding, 2xs a day, yet they charge 6 dollars a day for me to use my food. 13 dollars extra per day for an extra walk.
