The rainstorm of March 9th was terrible. We experienced leaks in the house that we hadn't seen…read moresince Superstorm Sandy in 2012. Unfortunately, we were too busy have it fixed immediately. About one month later, G. Keith Roofing & Waterproofing were working on a house up the block. While they were working on that house, they also inspected the roofs of other homes on the block, and cold-called for additional business. We chose G. Keith to fix our roofing issues because they were in the right place at the right time. Before hiring them, we checked pricing with a different neighbor who used a different vendor. G. Keith's plan and pricing were approximately equivalent to that other vendor. G. Keith essentially added a new SBS bitumen layer to our roof, sealed it, and provided a 10-year warranty. This treatment was more economical than a complete roof replacement, but not all roofs are eligible -- it depends on the existing number of layers on the roof. They did the job in about 3 hours, with an additional hour combined for equipment and supplies set-up and tear-down. George provided lots of photos of work in progress, and a video too. We were able to climb up onto the roof to inspect the work and ask questions. According to George, future maintenance might be re-flashing the sides in six to seven years, but otherwise the roof should be maintenance-free for the next few years. It was interesting to compare our roof to our neighbors' roofs, and see to how important it is to mitigate deficiencies sooner than later.

Usman and his incredibly capable crew restored and repaired my 6 story townhouse back exterior and…read moremy roof, which are made out of EIFS stucco. We had hired a structural engineer to add flashing to balconies as well as ceiling fans. When he added the fans, he cut into the EIFS and did a very poor job patching the channel he cut to hide the electric. This caused condensation inside the home and required immediate repair. Usman is a class act. He personally showed up to the project himself every single day. He also did certain parts of the project himself or was helping his men in any way he could by doing various tasks. The roof needed a sauna removal, which Usman and his crew did with extreme care, but also left lots of damage to the EIFS stucco. Usman and his team carefully repaired it. Upon repair, he inspected our roof and found many critical issues we were unaware of. It was not done in a "pushy contractor" way, it was done because he knows his business and his products so well, he wanted to figure out why the roof was requiring so much product and because he is INCREDIBLY detail oriented. It was because the EIFS was getting wet due to exposed limestone joints, which over time would have meant we would have to redo the entire EIFS (a very big and expensive job) and he also found an immediate future issue which would have caused a leak. We were able to fix and get ahead of both, while staying on the original timeline. I cannot tell you how much I appreciated Usman and his team's attention to detail from start to finish of the project. Over the past 8 years in my townhouse, I have put a lot of work into it. It is tricky to find a great contractor. One that is not only talented, but also cares about his work AND his workers!!! That is a true sign to me of a wonderful company. He not only ordered lunch for his crew, he ALSO ordered lunch for my housekeeper and myself! I kept calling my husband and telling him how kind Usman was and how thorough. He is EXTREMELY thorough. He is collaborative in the sense that he will listen to the owner (in this case me) and address any and all concerns or questions I had with thoughtfulness and care. We hadn't planned on restoring the front of my building, which is limestone, but I had a quick question about it (NOT part of the scope!) for Usman and after I received the answer, my husband and I decided to get a bid to do preventative work to restore the front using Usman and his team again. I will absolutely continue to be a repeat customer. Owning a building requires contractors and Usman and his team are absolute gems. Clean, courteous, professional, and talented. I called Bill and right away, he was able to remotely take a look at the issue and gave me an appointment to physically further examine. Another remarkable practice i noticed also, is timeliness! Bill showed up promptly exactly as scheduled! He inspected the issue and I thought he will have to schedule a date to return to fix the problem! Bill went to the store, picked up materials returned and right away, got on the roof and started working! Bill completed the task to fix the problem by the time I blinked my eyes! As a first-time homebuyer experiencing an ongoing leak, I weighed my options for a roof repair with several roofing contractors. What stood out about Jon and his team was their positive reviews and responsiveness. An estimator came to my home in less than 12 hours for a free quote and more importantly, provided insight to where the water was coming from and options to remedy the problem. Based on my conversations I decided to go with a small, repair job. When the roofers began their work, the situation evolved into something more serious. Inside I feared this all along: that a repair would only delay the water from eventually coming back into the house. And that's when I talked it over in person with Jon. He sparked my inner financier and advised that a complete roof replacement would be a long-term investment for the home and the work would be covered for 50 years under the GAF warranty. I agreed.
