These people are god damn crooks, absolutely shameless. They will send you their canned "we periodically review rates" letter and will keep jacking up your price. They like to say, "because we rent month to month, rates are not guaranteed". No kidding, but when they raise rates, the increase is ridiculous, it's not a reasonable increase like 5, 10, or 15%. It's like 30-40%. What they do should be illegal. My rent went from $91 to $131 for a 10 x 10 unit, but you can rent a 10 x 10 right now for $75. This is how they bait you in. So essentially customers like me who have been loyal to them get screwed, while they try to bait in new customers who they can take advantage of. DO NOT RENT HERE. I've been renting there now for two years. The first six months were fine -- the passcode access worked, drive-through doors were locked and functioning at both end of the building, all good. Since then however, every time I pull in, one of the doors is wide open because the other is damaged. It takes 5 minutes to "tetris" my way around other cars to get in and out and basically anyone can access the building. Last year while there, we pulled up as someone was literally robbed inside the drive-through area. Neither the victim nor the assailants were renting storage space. On my last visit, I asked the front desk manager what they could do to remedy the fact that they're not delivering on what they sold at the time of contract, he peevishly basically said "Tell corporate." read more

If I could give absolutely no stars, I would do so! This SmartStop storage is HORRIBLE! DO NOT RENT HERE. The north entrance rarely, if ever, works. Mike H. summarized the deplorable situation at this business very well. I have never been to the unit when both doors were working, leaving me to back in and out, if I can even do that! We could not get our Christmas decorations out of the unit because only one door is working. The front desk manager is not willing or capable of rectifying the issues. I was a customer for 3 months and had restricted access to space during the entire time which forced me to not utilize storage space. Company would not respond to emails about restricted access. To access the units in this storage place, you will need to drive thru a tunnel of sorts. There is a garage door on the north and south access points. (Enter on the north, exit on the south.) I rented a unit here on Aug 31, 2021 and moved out on November 20, 2021. At NO POINT during this period did the garage doors work as designed. The door on the south end of the tunnel was always out of operation. Today, the person working the front desk told me there was a 5 day period where the doors were both operational before the south door was hit by a customer and broken again. Let me describe what it's like to access the storage space under these conditions with an inoperable south exit point. Enter thru the north point and navigate around 30' box trucks, trucks pulling trailers, SUVS, and cars. There are people pushing carts of boxes, furniture, garbage bags filled with stuff. People don't uniformly park on left or right side leaving an active moving lane, so you will need to back-up navigating around several vehicles. This will be easier or harder for some people. There will be stray carts rolling around unattended, so watch out for that. When you get back to the north gate, if it's closed you will need to exit your car, walk out side door to access panel to enter code to open the garage; after which time you can re-enter the tunnel and pull your car out. It's a very poorly designed and maintained space, and the management's position is that people are stupid and don't know how to drive. While I won't argue this may be the case for some people, the design of the space is stupid and not well maintained in practice. Do not rent here! The management and the storage facility is nothing but a joke the garage door has been broken since the day they opened and they get it up and running it works for a day and then somebody breaks it because they don't have the knowledge or than know how to operate the place! This is on going and not a Covid thing! Just bad business! They are all to happy to call, charge late fees and lock you out even though you left a card on file! Cars are always blocking the garages! Your life is stressful enough while trying to move and all this place does is stress you out more! Stay far away! So not worth the headache for the price! Oh, and they have a big mice problem! The first year was fine. I got a warm welcome and a 5x10 for $38. Second year price jumped to nearly $90. The south garage door has been broken since springtime, making it very hard to turn my SUV around to get out. The place is in desperate need of repair, cleaning and new hand trucks. read more

Oh, I wish I had checked the reviews for this company before I attempted to rent with them. If I could, I'd give zero stars. Total bait and switch when I tried to rent,l a unit. Despite an email confirming my reservation for another two weeks, I was told my reservation was cancelled. The two people I engaged with over "chat," basically said "Yep, your reservation was cancelled," with no effort to help me or make things right other than offer me another unit at twice the price with no apology. I thought the experience was saved when I called the site directly and spoke with Bruce, who seemed helpful. As it turns out, he was blowing smoke, too and never called me back. Worst experience with a place that I didn't even get a chance to actually do business with! So many other, better options, as I have found out. read more

After being a customer for 5 months I noticed my bill when up. I called the location and a Bruce answered the phone. I inquired on why my bill was more than normal. He said "usually after 5-6 months your storage fee will be increased. Every storage center does this". When I asked why he just said "everyone does it. Is there anything else I can do for you?". Bruce was really rude and unprofessional. I will be finding another storage unit provider. read more

They raised the price of our unit from $22 to $44 for an 8x8 unit. They said they sent out mail notices but I and my mother in law (who also has a unit) never received anything. I wouldn't be upset for the price raising, but them being sneaky about it is what is most frustrating. read more

termites!!!!! first thing i did was ask the worker for suggestions on what they are doing about it...nothing he said, the pest control told him it wasn't anything to worry about because the building is block..???. my furniture isn't. i couldnt believe my ears. terrible service. now i have to pay for termite control before i move my furniture to another storage. bad service, bad storage and bad management read more
