We were in search of a quick snack to have before a hike when we happened upon this food truck park tucked away on Kapa'a Beach. Little did we know that our minds were about to be blown! Boyfriend and I split one of the daily special offerings, which that day was Ahi Katsu. The first bite was incredible, and somehow each bite kept getting better. I've had delicious seared ahi tuna before, but having it in katsu form really elevated the contrast between the different textures. The dish was also smothered in what seemed to be unagi sauce and wasabi mayo, and even though the sauces were generous, it wasn't overwhelming. I wish this could be a regular menu item to have a higher chance of having this again in the future. Also wish we could have tried their kalua pork or smash burgers too, but we didn't want to eat too much before our hike. Walked up with a smile and was greeted by a girl that clearly didn't want to be helping us. Still, were usuals and wanted the food. She took our order and got it wrong and when we asked about it - she gave us attitude about it even though she checked the receipt and realized she messed up. So unnecessary to act that way when she was in the wrong. We were chill about it. My pork sandwich was soggy but the plate lunch was good - price is too high for the food and buggy bench experience. They were closed a few extra days so we almost missed being able to try this place. We had a Mushroom Swiss and a Double Cheese w/fries. Both were very good. The wait time wasn't long, what you would expect for a burger. The patties were seasoned well and you can taste the quality of the meat. Be prepared to use your napkins! My partner got the pork combination plate but they ran out of Mac salad so they gave him rice and a side salad instead. He said that the pork was really well spiced and that the serving was generous. BEST burger that I've had in a long time: highly recommend them and will definitely try to go back again before our stay is over!! My daughter and I had the burger with the candied bacon- the burger was super juicy and the brioche bun was soft and soaked up the juices. Everything about it was perfection!! Now we live on Maui and have had Kalua pig from dozens of local places and dozens of "Local" places, you know da kine. Well lemme say, at first glance it doesn't look like much, but it was the juiciest, most tender, flavor packed Kalua pig we've ever had. BROKE DA MOUTH brah, just insane. Huge shouts to John the chef who owns the truck. Extremely nice guy and you can really tell he cares about everything that comes out the window. The Candied Pig Blues burger was full of delicious and fresh ingredients which was anchored with a brioche bun and a large patty. The husband got the Ahi Taco special and he declared it to be amazing. Generous portion of Ahi on three tortillas made for a filling lunch for him. We got the Mac salad out of curiosity since everyone on the island seems to do it different.
