Just like every Smashburger I go to. Everything is fresh. Place is clean, the shakes are great, fries are great, burgers are great. What stands out about this one is that this location has a mini bar. Unlike the other Smashburgers i've been to. The only reason i didn't give it the full stars is because they always mess up something on my burger. Missing something or put the wrong bun. There was even one time i got spoiled mayonaise. But none of that will stop me from coming back. Smashburger has always been one of my go-to burger places. read more

Found a Smashburger while out and about and havent eaten here since they closed in SA. While at FT Bliss, wanted to try the FT Bliss burger which was a chipotle bun and jalapenos on the burger with fried onion strings. I have to say, that was a mighty fine burger. A good amount of heat but doesn't kill your mouth. The service was good, very friendly which is rare on a base. They also serve beer here, because it can't be a military grub spot without beer lol. My only complaint was the fries, they tasted like they had been sitting for a min and being shoestring fries, that's no bueno. I would come back, but maybe see about getting something other than fries. read more

Once you eat Smashburger, you'll never look at McDonald's or Burger King or Carl's Jr. the same. I got Smashburger on my brain and I never want that to change. Yes, this Smashburger is on Fort Bliss (and it's the only one in the EP area), but anyone can go... all you need is a form of identification to get on Fort Bliss. The location is great since it's in a pretty central area in El Paso, located inside Freedom Crossing. There aren't many place in El Paso where you get the option to sit outside (and be properly shaded) so I love that SB offers almost as much covered seating outside as they do inside. Nice. The birds in the area have caught on to the free fries that gets left behind (who leaves Smashfries behind? MONSTERS, that's who!) so you will see birds swooping in to steal a fry or two from vacated tables, but they don't really bother people. If for nothing else, I come for the Smashfries. All the other sides are great too, but the Smashfries are sent from the heavens. Lightly coated in rosemary and garlic. Drool... And just so you know Smashburger definitely has a secret menu (a lot of times influenced by the area) and you can also get fried jalapenos, among other secret menu things. I may come for the fries, but there's no way I'm not walking out with one of their deliciously out-of-this-world Smashburgers. Thanks to an event last year, I've tried every single burger and you know what? They're all damn good! My favorites are somewhere between The Fort Bliss (obviously only available at this location), the BBQ Bacon Burger, and the Truffle Mushroom Swiss. The Fort Bliss has jalapenos and fried onions, so it's like a good ol' fashioned burger with the Southwest heat and crunch. The BBQ Bacon feeds the cheese and bacon fiend in me, my two favorite food groups. And they put real deal cheddar cheese on it, none of this government cheese crap that tastes like, well, crap. And the Truffle Mushroom Swiss! Yummm... loaded with mushrooms and swiss, need I say more? The buns are buttery and airy, they're simply lovely. And the patty is smashed to order (they seriously smash the burger) so it's not too thick or too thin, but if you like more meat you can always double up. Nobody triples it, nobody. If you haven't been to Smashburger yet, you need to go. And if you have gone to Smashburger, but never had the Fort Bliss, you need to go. You better believe I'll be trying the city's Smashburger in any city I visit from now on. Oh and they have beer! On tap and bottled! read more

Had to update my rating because there are better burger establishments in EP. A recent visit left me feeling cold, with cold fries that is. A Burger with french fries and a milkshake will set you back $16. You can definitely find more for your money. read more

Smashburger is, by far, my favorite burger place in El Paso... or maybe the entire US. It's amazing! The fried pickles are a little salty, but not terrible. I always have great service as well! I do have to limit myself though because it is kind of pricy. read more

A typical Smashburger. You order at the counter, get a number and they bring your order out to you. Really good food that comes out to you in about 5-7 minutes when they are really busy--less time when they are not. Prices are a little high but not unreasonable. I really like their All-American Burger and the Avocado Club Smashchicken. You can tailor your selection without a fuss. What's really neat is that they have tables outside as well (some in the shade all day). They are usually full when it gets warm. The place is located in a good spot so you can sit outside and people watch. Oh, I almost forgot, they serve breakfast. read more

I've eaten at Smashburgers before and I was familiar with their yummy hamburgers. But I was totally surprised when my colleague recommended their salads. We went at lunch and I got their spinach goat cheese salad with added grill chicken and sliced jalapeno. The salad was delivered in about 10 minutes and I devoured it. This is a huge amount of food for a reasonable price. Quick, healthy, and customizable, I was impressed with Smashburger salad options and will def hit it up again in the future. read more

Buffalo chicken burger...Amazing. personal preference it could have used a few more squirts of Franks Red Hot sauce. Veggie fries were also very enjoyable. Be nice if they blotted off some of the frying oil and threw in a few more asparagus spears.. Oh well I'm stuffed and happy. read more

This place was amazing! The bun was made of wheat. It was very soft. The bun actually had flavor. I got the avocado club chicken sandwich. The veggies were fresh. The service here was amazing! They cater to the guest so well. Our server Paola was very kind and even held a nice conversationwith us. The food here is amazing and the flavors work so well together. The assistant manager Kyle was very courteous he poured us some really cool rainbow shots. My favorite lunch spot at Freedom's Crossing. Parking is tough, but the food is fast yet restaurant quality. It is easy to personalize your burger, the buns are delicious, and the service is very good. I come quite often for lunch m and have always been able to sit in a booth. The smashfries are my favorite-- a while back they would put way too much olive oil on the fries, but lately it has been just right. Also- they now have these amazing milkshakes. Another positive thing is that they have vitamin water (XXX flavor) on their fountain drinks, which is great for people looking for something healthier than carbonated soda. They also sell beer, is awesome. read more

I've been to Smashburgers before and they're always pretty consistent; pretty good burgers and friendly service. Smashburger at Freedom Crossing doesn't disappoint. I've been a couple of times at lunch. Even though they've been very busy each time, the service didn't suffer at all. The line moves quickly and efficiently, the restaurant was kept clean and food is delivered promptly as well as hot. One of the better venues at Freedom Crossing. read more

This is one of the worst burger restaurants I've ever been to. The menu is not co-located with cash register, so you'll have to use the menu they hand you (which has no prices on it). Nathan took my order, he was a rude and condescending, could not explain the menu items correctly. The regular Smashburger is larger than average, which explains why it's $2.00 more than anything comparable, but has no flavor. Be prepared to add mayo, mustard, hot sauce, etc. The black bean burger is not a burger WITH black beans on it, as Nathan described. It's just a bunch of black beans pressed in the shape of a patty for more than $7.00. No taste, no flavor, no value. French fries were satisfactory, really tasty when dipped in chocolate shake. I asked for hot sauce but they don't provide it for to-go orders. They won't even let you pour the sauce on the item before you leave, they simply deny you the condiment! Overall, if you want a mediocre burger for a higher cost with rude service, go to Smashburger. If you want flavor with value and good service, go elsewhere. read more

The salad are great, so are the burgers. The price is overpriced when you think you don't get a side or a drink for $7 a burger. if this place offered meat that was hormone free, organic, sustainable food, I would gladly pay $7 and not get a side but this place doesn't boast any of that, so they need to give a little here. The service is ok, there are a few people that work there that know me and my family because we come in enough and they have been nice BUT there are a few people that work there that are a little too stick up and show it. They act impatient if you don't immediately spit out what you want to order and act bothered if you take to long or change something. The manager there never really acts happy, goes out of his way to ask how your food is or carries himself in a professional manager type of way. He honestly looks stoned a lot of the time too. Food is good but it takes more than that to really be the best, I say it works well for convince being on base but this place has more potential and should make a few changes. read more

We (my husband and I) are in love with their smashfries and chicken burgers! The best chicken burgers we've ever had! Pretty clean and they have a waiting area for to go orders or simply if they need to sit you somewhere. Don't forget to try the Fort Bliss special burgers! The Fort Bliss and Spicy Baja is our favorites. Spicy enough for you to crave it when you go back. Price is a bit on a pricey side but you're better off ordering burgers here than other restaurants when the burgers are the same price. Simply put, better ingredients and better quality. Smash Burger on FT Bliss @ Freedom Crossing is one of the better restaurants. The burgers are made to order. I've been here a few times and they haven't failed me yet. The fries are pretty thin not my favorite but the burger makes up for it. I would recommend eating here if you have a long lunch break or afterwork. read more

I'm a big fan of the avocado black bean burger! Also love the seasoned fries and sweet potato fries. I've tried other vegetarian burgers and can say that this one is the best I've had at a chain food spot. Located off one of the main streets; in a shopping complex sits Orange Cow Burgers which originally started out as a Food Truck. Now, there's approximately three locations in the surrounding areas. Menu is pretty straight forward and simple. Orders are as follows: a single, double, triple and protein cow. It's fresh ingredients, all-beef patties that are cooked to medium. The best part is they have a secret speciality sauce called moolicious! We got two single patties along with two orders of fries and a pup patty (single plain patty) for the dogs. All to go. Prices are extremely reasonable in today's market. Taste was as if you made it right at your own La Casa. Only complaint was not having "enough" of that sauce to really have it stand out beyond home cooked. That said, you can also get their "loaded fries" which includes this specific sauce as well. We opted for "extra crispy" plain fries and they were really good. Service was fair enough as far as the wait ( 2 parties a head of us) and friendly staff. Great little spot if you happen through El Paso Texas or if you're local, hit them up for your own burger experience & request extra mooliscious spread of course!

We started with the cauliflower wings and the sauce was so delicious, a little kick but not too spicy. The cauliflower was perfect, lightly fried and crisp texture. I got the chicken sandwich which was the same sauce as wings a very good. Large portion and tons of fries, the sweet potato fries were good. We also got a side of a basil aioli which we really enjoyed. Drinks were also very good with craft liquors. The margarita was fantastic! Our server was so nice and attentive. It was a great time! Only con is it is pretty dark in the inside.

I finally checked out Ámbar inside the Plaza Hotel downtown and honestly... that burger alone…read morealready earned them a return visit. I had just come down from a Tom Lea gallery event upstairs and the restaurant was packed. I figured it was a long shot, but they still found a way to seat me. Service stayed friendly even with the rush, which I always notice. The burger was easily one of the best I've had in El Paso. Clearly handcrafted, cooked right, super juicy, really flavorful. What impressed me most was the bun actually held everything together instead of falling apart halfway through like most gourmet burgers do. At about $20, it felt justified. One thing worth noting, especially if you're into spirits: they have one of the largest tequila and mezcal collections around. Definitely a destination spot if that's your thing. I tried their carajillo but found out they add Baileys, which made it sweeter than I usually prefer. Not bad at all, just more dessert-leaning than my taste. Live music from Jordan Taylor was happening that night too, which made the whole atmosphere feel elevated without being stuffy. Because that first visit stuck with me, I went back recently to try their lunch special with a friend. For $26 you get an appetizer, entrée, sides, guacamole, tostadas, and dessert. It's honestly a great way to try a range of dishes without committing to just one plate. Funny enough, it doesn't look like a huge amount of food at first... but we were completely stuffed by the end, so kudos to them for balancing portions well while still giving variety. Standouts: * The octopus cocktail appetizer was excellent. Bright, fresh, good texture. * Carne asada was cooked exactly right. Tender but still had bite like a proper steak. * Mushroom components in several dishes were surprisingly flavorful. * Desserts were a highlight. The arroz con leche arancini especially. Crispy outside, creamy inside, not overly sweet. Very well done. Some things were more middle-of-the-road: * Salmon dish leaned bland, lots of texture but not much flavor. * Guacamole tasted a bit acidic. * Goat cheese in the enchiladas was subtle to the point of disappearing. * Corn and mashed potatoes were fine but nothing memorable. Timing was reasonable. Food came out in about 20 minutes, but with a full meal you'll want to plan roughly an hour to an hour and a half total if you're not rushing. One practical perk: they validate parking at the Plaza garage next door, which downtown absolutely needs more of. Overall, beautiful space, solid service, some really strong dishes, and a few that could use more punch. Still very much worth checking out, especially if you're downtown already or want a nicer but still relaxed lunch or dinner spot. The restaurant itself is beautiful, clean, modern, and very inviting. The food was good overall. We ordered a variety of tacos, a torta, and several sides, all of which we enjoyed. Since we were celebrating a birthday, the staff kindly brought out a complimentary dessert, which was beautifully plated and a nice touch that we appreciated. Unfortunately, the service fell a bit short. Our server wasn't very friendly and rarely checked on our table. We waited quite some time for drinks and water refills. We were seated near the kitchen and main walkway, which is hard to believe that we were overlook, and at times it felt like we were forgotten. We had high hopes for a great family dining experience, and while there were some positives, it didn't quite meet our expectations. That said, we did enjoy walking around the area afterward and taking photos. It's a lovely spot overall.

I made a reservation and our family of 5 had an incredible dinner. The service was exceptional - he was so attentive and wanted to make sure everything was just right. The food was some of the best we've eaten. The menu was diverse, and everything sounded so interesting. We had the pulled pork bao tacos for an appetizer, which were perfection - I could have just eaten them all night. My daughter ordered the green chili alfredo, which was as delicious as it was interesting. I ordered the pesto divorciados, and it had such complex flavors that paired together perfectly. My wife ordered the baked penne, and it was also just as delicious. We all agreed that all three entrees were just next level. My two youngest kids got kids' meals, which were homemade, delicious, and very kid-friendly. The atmosphere was fun, festive, and perfect for a date night or a fun night out with friends.
