I am so, so impressed with the atmosphere, service, and food here at Smashburger. We came in for an early dinner during the week and my boyfriend and I will definitely be coming back (this is saying something since burgers are my boyfriend's least favorite food). We had the option of sitting indoors or outside, but since its, like, 100+ out we opted for indoors. I love love love all of the natural light that pours into the restaurant. Our servers were incredibly friendly and didn't at all get frustrated with all of my crazy substitutions. And, guys, they use FRESH produce on their burgers. Worst decision I've made all week lol, I had forgotten why I don't go here. Took twenty minutes to sit waiting for the "Specialty Burger" it was a cheeseburger with bacon and brisket. Dry and extremely salty. Paid ten dollars for that and six dollars for a chocolate shake that was comparable to a 99 cent shake you could get at Wendy's. $16 later I felt like I'd been had. Definitely one of the best burger and fries combo I've had in a while, and I love a good burger! Went here with my husband and son the other night and there were absolutely no left overs! I got the Avocado Club Burger and wow! Just amazing the avocado really brings it all together and just melts in your mouth with pure bliss! If you don't leave happy and full there is something wrong with you! And the Smash Fries, to die for!! The simplicity of some herbs and olive oil on fries just completely nails it! Just like every Smashburger I go to. Everything is fresh. Place is clean, the shakes are great, fries are great, burgers are great. What stands out about this one is that this location has a mini bar. Unlike the other Smashburgers i've been to. The only reason i didn't give it the full stars is because they always mess up something on my burger. Missing something or put the wrong bun. There was even one time i got spoiled mayonaise. Found a Smashburger while out and about and havent eaten here since they closed in SA. While at FT Bliss, wanted to try the FT Bliss burger which was a chipotle bun and jalapenos on the burger with fried onion strings. I have to say, that was a mighty fine burger. A good amount of heat but doesn't kill your mouth. The service was good, very friendly which is rare on a base. They also serve beer here, because it can't be a military grub spot without beer lol. My only complaint was the fries, they tasted like they had been sitting for a min and being shoestring fries, that's no bueno. Once you eat Smashburger, you'll never look at McDonald's or Burger King or Carl's Jr. the same. I got Smashburger on my brain and I never want that to change. Yes, this Smashburger is on Fort Bliss (and it's the only one in the EP area), but anyone can go... all you need is a form of identification to get on Fort Bliss. The location is great since it's in a pretty central area in El Paso, located inside Freedom Crossing. There aren't many place in El Paso where you get the option to sit outside (and be properly shaded) so I love that SB offers almost as much covered seating outside as they do inside. Nice. The birds in the area have caught on to the free fries that gets left behind (who leaves Smashfries behind? MONSTERS, that's who!) so you will see birds swooping in to steal a fry or two from vacated tables, but they don't really bother people. If for nothing else, I come for the Smashfries. All the other sides are great too, but the Smashfries are sent from the heavens. Lightly coated in rosemary and garlic. Drool... And just so you know Smashburger definitely has a secret menu (a lot of times influenced by the area) and you can also get fried jalapenos, among other secret menu things. I may come for the fries, but there's no way I'm not walking out with one of their deliciously out-of-this-world Smashburgers. Thanks to an event last year, I've tried every single burger and you know what? They're all damn good! My favorites are somewhere between The Fort Bliss (obviously only available at this location), the BBQ Bacon Burger, and the Truffle Mushroom Swiss. The Fort Bliss has jalapenos and fried onions, so it's like a good ol' fashioned burger with the Southwest heat and crunch. The BBQ Bacon feeds the cheese and bacon fiend in me, my two favorite food groups. And they put real deal cheddar cheese on it, none of this government cheese crap that tastes like, well, crap. And the Truffle Mushroom Swiss! Yummm... loaded with mushrooms and swiss, need I say more? The buns are buttery and airy, they're simply lovely. And the patty is smashed to order (they seriously smash the burger) so it's not too thick or too thin, but if you like more meat you can always double up. Nobody triples it, nobody. If you haven't been to Smashburger yet, you need to go. And if you have gone to Smashburger, but never had the Fort Bliss, you need to go. You better believe I'll be trying the city's Smashburger in any city I visit from now on. Oh and they have beer! On tap and bottled! read more

Really good food that comes out to you in about 5-7 minutes when they are really busy--less time when they are not. Prices are a little high but not unreasonable. I really like their All-American Burger and the Avocado Club Smashchicken. You can tailor your selection without a fuss. What's really neat is that they have tables outside as well (some in the shade all day). They are usually full when it gets warm. I've eaten at Smashburgers before and I was familiar with their yummy hamburgers. But I was totally surprised when my colleague recommended their salads. We went at lunch and I got their spinach goat cheese salad with added grill chicken and sliced jalapeno. The salad was delivered in about 10 minutes and I devoured it. My favorite lunch spot at Freedom's Crossing. Parking is tough, but the food is fast yet restaurant quality. It is easy to personalize your burger, the buns are delicious, and the service is very good. I come quite often for lunch m and have always been able to sit in a booth. The smashfries are my favorite-- a while back they would put way too much olive oil on the fries, but lately it has been just right. Also- they now have these amazing milkshakes. Another positive thing is that they have vitamin water (XXX flavor) on their fountain drinks, which is great for people looking for something healthier than carbonated soda. This is one of the worst burger restaurants I've ever been to. The menu is not co-located with cash register, so you'll have to use the menu they hand you (which has no prices on it). Nathan took my order, he was a rude and condescending, could not explain the menu items correctly. The regular Smashburger is larger than average, which explains why it's $2.00 more than anything comparable, but has no flavor. Be prepared to add mayo, mustard, hot sauce, etc. The black bean burger is not a burger WITH black beans on it, as Nathan described. It's just a bunch of black beans pressed in the shape of a patty for more than $7.00. No taste, no flavor, no value. French fries were satisfactory, really tasty when dipped in chocolate shake. I asked for hot sauce but they don't provide it for to-go orders. They won't even let you pour the sauce on the item before you leave, they simply deny you the condiment! Overall, if you want a mediocre burger for a higher cost with rude service, go to Smashburger. If you want flavor with value and good service, go elsewhere. read more

The price is overpriced when you think you don't get a side or a drink for $7 a burger. if this place offered meat that was hormone free, organic, sustainable food, I would gladly pay $7 and not get a side but this place doesn't boast any of that, so they need to give a little here. The service is ok, there are a few people that work there that know me and my family because we come in enough and they have been nice BUT there are a few people that work there that are a little too stick up and show it. They act impatient if you don't immediately spit out what you want to order and act bothered if you take to long or change something. Pretty clean and they have a waiting area for to go orders or simply if they need to sit you somewhere. Don't forget to try the Fort Bliss special burgers! Smash Burger on FT Bliss @ Freedom Crossing is one of the better restaurants. The burgers are made to order. I've been here a few times and they haven't failed me yet. The fries are pretty thin not my favorite but the burger makes up for it. I would recommend eating here if you have a long lunch break or afterwork. read more
