I attended the Kings/Rangers game recently and ate here beforehand. It was better than I expected and they dealt with long lines really well. I go to a dozen or so Kings games a year and usually go to Tom's next door if we are eating/drinking in LA Live. Tom's had a private event the night of the Ranger's game, so Smashburger it was. We used to be frequent patrons of the Culver City Smashburger, with our favorite burger being the truffle mushroom. We moved away from the area and today's trip was our first day back to a Smashburger location in almost a decade. Boy, the menu is really limited here! I ordered for takeout and only the classic smash with and without bacon was available. The burger itself was fine, and the patty was still juicy. But there was nothing special in terms of the sauce or toppings. The rosemary fries were subpar compared to before, with essentially no rosemary seasoning. I am hoping the poor experience was solely because of location & maybe they just ran out of ingredients for the night. I am browsing the Smashburger website, and it looks like they still sell the truffle mushroom burger. And there is actually a location near me! If you are looking for an option without bread, you better order a double. And even that won't be enough. The cheese seemed to be cheap fake cheese. They have gotten rid of all of their options. Smashburger is a chain. This one is our favorite. Located at LA Live in Downtown LA it is filled with excitement and fun. Now, it is always crowded but the line moves fast and you will be fine. You order your food at the counter and eat there or on their patio. You can also get take away or delivery. We love to eat there before a show at Crypto Arena (their food is awful by the way) which is right down the street and part of LA Live. The prices are fair and they have a good selection. Parking is in a public lot for a fee, there is really no way to avoid that. The service is super friendly and they are pretty quick. They are especially patient considering I have never seen it without a line out the door. The place is very cute with nice seating inside and out. It is kept very clean. The selection is nice. We love all their burgers and they also have great fries. We often get one of their salads and they are always fresh and crisp. I love that they have milk and their hand made milk shacks are super. They have chicken burgers that may grandson loves. I like their crispy Brussel sprouts. Their sweet potato waffle fries are good are very good, but who am I kidding, they are not healthy, just get what you love and for me that is their French fries and tater tots. They also have beer on tap and prices are reasonable for LA Live, which can be expensive. They have really good milkshakes also and the chicken sandwiches yummy. First off, it's annoying that when you go to a Lakers game, your options are Yard House, Smashburger, Lazy Dog Cafe, and some "fancy" sushi place. It's downtown L.A. and this is the best they can do? Stopped by this location before the lakers game. The line was definitely long but the service was great. The food, you can't beat a good smash burger and fries. I stepped in, saw dozens of people who had already paid standing around waiting for food, no one in the kitchen, no one running out orders, and a decently long line of people waiting to order, too with no one to help them... Every customer in there seemed really angry, and there wasn't an employee in sight. In downtown LA. In the middle of the day. I couldn't tell you about the food, because I never got that far... Waiting to watch tubby Doncic at Crypto, so I came here because Fixins was too crowded. Line was packed here as well, but it was going pretty fast. After all, this is a fast food spot. The menu is pretty basic. Just smash burgers with different toppings and a chicken sandwich. They have fries, of course, and tater tots, too. Got the classic combo that comes with a fountain drink and a side of fries or tater tots. Chose the latter, which you really can't screw up. Unfortunately, the fountain machine was out of ice and the soda I got was flat and warm. Everyone was asking staff to get some ice in there, but nobody ever remedied the issue. Just a waste of a drink. As for the burger itself, super low to mid. Just nothing special at all. Patty was just unremarkable in every way. Wasn't even smashed or crisped that well. There were only two people. So it took 30 minutes to get to order. If they had for employees, it would have been half the time. Additionally, the fountain drinks needed to be refreshed. It was a Tuesday evening, around 6:30 pm, so we didn't have to wait in a long line to order. So, the food is good. Given it's location, it's pricey for a burger but it's good. We ordered a double-double smashburger, a grilled chicken, and a cheese burger. We also ordered regular fries, sweet potato fries, and tater tots, which were a winner! They're seasoned with rosemary and something else. Given how empty it was, the staff was very helpful (and patient while we ordered) and our food was out within 15 minutes. I'm not sure why the menu is only posted on the wall- it would be helpful for accessibility reasons, I'd they could have menus at each of the POSs. It gets overwhelming to be looking up and trying to figure out what to order. Overall, it's a great place to grab a bite before going to the Crypto or LA Live for an event. read more

For whatever reason, most of the food spots within easy walking distance of the convention center were closed this Tuesday. Smash burger, however, was open. This combo (drink not pictured) was $18 plus tax. It was "ok", but not memorable in any way. Price was probably more than it should be because of location. Here they are $17.99, so that's a little steep, but oh well, let's try it. It's a burger, and although seasoned well, it's not anything I would go out of my way to find. It looked very crowded but the service and the time it took to get our food was surprisingly quick. This was my first time at a Smashburger and overall give it a 4.5 but will round it out to a Yelp 5 The burger was good and kinda of tasted like a cross of McDonald's and In And Out.
