We used to be frequent patrons of the Culver City Smashburger, with our favorite burger being the truffle mushroom. We moved away from the area and today's trip was our first day back to a Smashburger location in almost a decade. Boy, the menu is really limited here! I ordered for takeout and only the classic smash with and without bacon was available. The burger itself was fine, and the patty was still juicy. But there was nothing special in terms of the sauce or toppings. The rosemary fries were subpar compared to before, with essentially no rosemary seasoning. I am hoping the poor experience was solely because of location & maybe they just ran out of ingredients for the night. Hate to do it, but management needs to do something We came just after lunch at 1:30, a call group came by and the staff was overwhelmed. Thing is, it wasn't the staff's fault. There were only two people. So it took 30 minutes to get to order. If they had for employees, it would have been half the time. Additionally, the fountain drinks needed to be refreshed. The Cokes were watered down, and the root beer was flat. Again, with more employees, this surely we would have been taken care of. The two staff clearly were doing their best, not bring lazy. It was a Tuesday evening, around 6:30 pm, so we didn't have to wait in a long line to order. So, the food is good. Given it's location, it's pricey for a burger but it's good. We ordered a double-double smashburger, a grilled chicken, and a cheese burger. We also ordered regular fries, sweet potato fries, and tater tots, which were a winner! They're seasoned with rosemary and something else. Given how empty it was, the staff was very helpful (and patient while we ordered) and our food was out within 15 minutes. I'm not sure why the menu is only posted on the wall- it would be helpful for accessibility reasons, I'd they could have menus at each of the POSs. This combo (drink not pictured) was $18 plus tax. It was "ok", but not memorable in any way. Price was probably more than it should be because of location.
