It looked very crowded but the service and the time it took to get our food was surprisingly quick. This was my first time at a Smashburger and overall give it a 4.5 but will round it out to a Yelp 5 The burger was good and kinda of tasted like a cross of McDonald's and In And Out. Location is why you'll want to eat here. Located in center of L.A. Live adjacent to the Crypto Center and The Novo. If there's event going on at the Crypto expect a long line to order your food. For what ever reason the line moves very slowly. The hamburger was good. The lettuce and tomato were extra fresh. I recommend getting the double meat burger since the beef pattie's are on small side. They smash the burger. French fries are better than most. Ketchup is served in packets. There's patio seating. Very nice spot to people watch. My chief complaint is pricing. Definitely a hyped up place and ideal location for lots of customers to enjoy the area. My favorite part was the rosemary tots. The burger was decent.. but I would go back for the tots. Just didn't enjoy the bottom of the tot cup filled with oil. Overall a good experience because we enjoyed a show at the crypto arena prior. This place was really busy, but Devon and the other workers were so great. They were hustling around making sure everyone got their food, the tables were cleaned, and refilling the self serve station. Devon was moving so quickly and being so polite to everyone. He had all of the tables cleaned so quickly and refilled all of the napkins at each table. He had also changed some trash bags and just never paused for a second. Devon was efficient and friendly. Another girl with braids did great as well. She was so sweet and quick at giving out the orders. It was super busy and there was a bit of a wait time, but not too bad. Came on 2/7/24 around 3pm it wasn't busy soon as I ordered the line never died down I was here for an hour! When I got here they informed me that the ice machine didn't have ice, give them 5-10 mins! The coke was also out 1 hour later still no ice and no coke! They had 1 person working the cash register. They had one person running food. Which she was also responsible for, filling the ice machine, and redoing the sodas! The food came out pretty quick, but I wasn't satisfied with the taste of the food. It was very bland. The french fries were good. They were hot, but the burger was cold. For this place to be as busy as it is they need more servers and be more tentative to the customers. I feel bad for the one girl because she's doing everything all by herself. I will not be back here and I will not recommend this place to anyone. I couldn't help thinking about how far we've come through this pandemic as this would have been a huge no-no even a year ago. The fam found a spot at the single diner bar they have along the windows that probably hadn't been tended to for about two hours. I took it upon myself to help out the staff by tossing all the piled up garbage no one who sat here previously realized could be tossed in the garbage bin 10 steps away from my present location. I then started making friends with everyone else waiting for their food near the registers since there was nothing else to do and people feel the need to bond in the experience of waiting for their food by complaining about how long they were standing there or the woman who just got her food ordered after them, or whatever other awkward chitchat they come up with that I smile, fake laugh, or agree with them on even though I actually don't agree and really don't care. It's a busy night and I'm sure they are working on getting the orders completed as quickly as they could. I'm not a huge fan of victim mentality. Finally our food comes. My super-slow eating son was so happy to have a burger in front of him he ate it in about 27 seconds flat. Honestly, I may have outpaced him a few seconds. The wife took her time. I thought the burger was excellent. Great flavor loved the soft bun and the veggies tasted fresh. We still had ample time to make it over to the arena so we decided to do our part and properly clean though the seating vultures were impatiently waiting for us to collect our things and head out the door.
