I love the burgers here. The truffle burger and the spicy guac are both so good, I have a tough time picking between the two. However, the management here is pretty terrible. I'd say it's like a "Red Robin/Jimmy Johns" mashup. The burgers are fresh and the best is the seasoned rosemary fries. I had the jalapeño double. The best part was the service, they're very attentive and gave great feedback to first timers. The burger I chose was a 4 star pick. The food has always been good here but the service isn't always consistent. Recently tried calling in an order. Tried getting through 5 times. Kept checking Google/Yelp to see if I had the right number. Finally, someone answered. I asked if I could place a to-go order, she replied with "we're actually really busy right now, can you hold or call back in 10 minutes?" I decided to forgo the wait considering I had already arrived at the restaurant to place my order. I was expecting an absolute madhouse when I arrived. I really wanted to like the place because the employees seems nice but unfortunately that was not the case. Putting aside the ridiculous amount of time that we had to wait for our burgers, the bickering going on between the employees and lack of management coordination, My burger was a let down. In theory it sounded great but it was very underwhelming. I had the Mushroom burger and the flavor the was good but the burger was so small. We received a coupon so my wife and I decided to check it out. The amount of options on the menu is good. I got the "build your own" version where you decide each item you'd like on it, the BIG size is 1oz larger(pictured below). The bacon was just ok. I could hardly taste it honestly. Good burger place. I installed the app on my phone and up popped a reward( free burger with side and drink purchase). I decided to give them a try. I ordered a Smashburger beef with no tomato. Also an order of smash fries and a medium coke. It took about ten minutes to get my order ready to go, which wasn't bad. The fries were different tasting but I liked them. The burger was really tasty, hot, lots of flavor and seared nicely. Very comparable to Five guys. Price was comparable to all the burger places around. Messed up order for starters which usually isn't a big deal but they insisted we had the right one so we had to literally prove they were wrong. Somebody else came that ordered food online, they never made him his food and argued about it in front of other customers. Staff was arguing with the crew in the kitchen as well. First time here against advice of friends. Should have listened. Someone with the same name ordered take out and ended up leaving with our order. We got to watch the ladies working there get mean to each other about fixing the order. It was like watching high schoolers try and put the blame on someone else. All we got was a sorry. Ok so this place is fairly new to our area and my husband wanted to try it for lunch. He didn't think it was to special and is just average. I thought a little more of it due to the turkey burger option. The first time presentation on the burgers were really nice (dine-in). However, the 2nd Time wasn't so great (take out) the burgers seem to have been thrown together from across the room and all the toppings seemed to have been the left over scraps. We only came back sooo soon because we wanted milkshakes and burgers but that was a big disappointment. The shakes were more like cold milk with a little strawberry syrup in it. I would honestly say that this place is a step above steak and shake. It's been very difficult to find good food here in Tampa and we are still on the search for some good food. Went to smashburger for the first time today. The service was good they were very nice. I ordered a Spinach and Goat cheese black bean burger (because I dnt eat meat). It came with a black bean pattie that was just ok. Spinach, lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes, goat cheese and balsamic vinaigrette dressing. The toppings were really good I liked the way the goat cheese tasted with the spinach cucumbers and dressing. But pattie wasn't all that tastey. It was too dry. We dont have one of these where I live abd I wish we did. Their food is amazing. Just a standard american burger and fries place but their burgers and fries are worth a drive to come get. I was amazed at how great the burgers were and you can customize your burger anyway you like. Im not a fan of milkshakes but I had theirs and hands down the best Ive had ever. Rounded out the meal nicely. However, the staff. We stood there for a few minutes while the cashier tinkered with something that had nothing to do with work. She seemed bored and almost upset that we came in to order and there were only four of us. Been here 5 or 6 times now and finally getting around to a review. By far the best of the burger places in the Burgerfi / 5 Guys / Burger Monger mold--i.e., thinner style burgers served in a semi-fast food setting with supposedly higher grade meat. This place manages to avoid the god-awful grease-bomb that is a 5 guys burger while preparing it in a way that doesn't somehow destroy the taste (looking at you, Burger Monger). Nor are the prices unreasonable (hello again Burger Monger). I actually like a thinner style burger--the ratio of meat to bread/toppings is a critical factor in a burger and if I wanted a slab of beef that's too big for my mouth I'd go to a steak place--and Smashburger gets it right. Properly seasoned, not too greasy and proportioned just right. It's clear they use good quality meat, hand-formed and cooked properly. So many places that claim to do so deliver chewy, "off" tasting beef that's obviously been frozen at some point, or is lower quality than advertised, or just plain overcooked. Even Square 1, in the last few years before it closed, had trouble cooking a decent burger with decent ingredients. Hopefully Smashburger doesn't ever go downhill like it did. The french fries are quite good, shoe string style. Sadly, that form of fry loses heat quickly--I've yet to get a side of them here that were actually hot to the touch, although they are clearly freshly cooked and very tasty. My wife ordered their sweet potato fries on our last visit and they were hot--thicker cut, and very good too. In my opinion their best side, though, is the thin onion rings. They're a bit on the greasy side (hard to avoid that with super thin rings) but boy are they tasty. Probably the only burger place I prefer rings over the fries. They have a nice, gated outside eating area that's dog friendly, the service has always been wonderful, and the food's great. They even have a number of decent beers available and provide you a frosted mug to drink it in -- nothing better on a hot day! What more could I ask for? Finally, a quick, gourmet burger place in South Tampa that actually lives up to the title. 5 stars. read more

Very tasty burgers, similar to burgerfi. The only downside was the speed, it took a very long time for a takeaway order, this could just be growing pains of a new restaurant so it's understandable. Would highly recommend the burger. Update- every time I go here the service is absolutely horrible! Last time I went and ordered takeaway food and a milkshake and it took almost 30min, they got mixed up with their tickets and made my shake latter than everyone behind me. I was shocked at how small this "big" burger was. My burger was extremely greasy and the haystack onions were pretty cold. For these prices you can other much better burger options in Tampa. I've had two interactions with Eric and he has been awesome both times. The rest of the team is always great, super friendly, and attentive as well.
