$12 for a lox bagel? Yes, please! Definitely one of the more affordable places to stop by for a homemade bagel. We got the Nova Lox and the California bagels. Both on Jalapeno Jack Bagels. The bagels are a little bit fluffier than other bagels, which I actually really enjoyed. They were stuffed to the brim, but the California bagel lacked a touch of salt which is totally okay. The lox bagel was lovely! The seating area is super cute, I really liked their long meeting style table that had a long row of succulents down the middle. There is also tons of natural lighting. The staff were super friendly and casual, classic bakery vibes. I'll be back to try their other bagel flavors!

Been coming here for a couple years now so now I can confidently say Sweet Bar Bakery is consistently good. The staff are also super friendly and welcoming. No matter what you order, their fresh bagels hit the spot. Personally, their nova lox bagel is the best I've had out of any store. They give you a generous portion of salmon, cream cheese, and capers.

Epic, wonderful, amazing service. Lovely baked goods. SUBLIME CHAI. The ambience is perfection- relaxed with plenty of workspace. Love this place.

Love stopping here when I stay at the Kissel Downtown. Even though my corporate pays for my meals, this place is local and shines! So friendly, fast and great coffee! Lots of regulars and a very friendly atmosphere.

We discovered this bakery on a whim walking by and decided to get some work done here. There's plenty of room here and has great wifi. The area is spacious and does not feel stuffed whatsoever. We got a snickerdoodle and lemon bar and the snickerdoodle was so fall apart and soft. The crumbles were delicious and we needed to eat every bit of it. The lemon bar was quite tart and the shortbread was a nice balance for the taste. The baked goods are made with the utmost quality here so highly recommend~

Get there early! The best darn snickerdoodle I've ever experienced. Flavorful and oh so soft. Also had the regular choc chip cookie- so yummy. The ham and cheese croissant was warm and gooey. I wish I was closer to frequent more often. The owners are on site and the staff is beyond friendly and personable.

Ive been here twice I enjoy the coffee every time but I feel the sandwiches are a bit overpriced for the quality. The restaurant is on the corner and I always walk (downtown parking is sketchy) but they do always have a line which moves quickly and food comes out as a timely manner.

I used to come here regularly prior to the pandemic but haven't been in the neighborhood much since then. I enjoyed it then and I'm enjoying my experience today. I ordered a Chai Latte and was happy that they made it with Oatmilk so I didn't have to ask. The barista provided excellent service and actually asked if I wanted cinnamon prior to giving me the latte. I did and it was a nice addition. I also ordered a chocolate chip cookie with walnuts, shhh I didn't really need it, lol. The cookie was good but would've been better heated. I didn't ask so there's that. Just a nice vibe, good music, great location, and very spacious. I'd come here again.

My gut says this is at least a 4 star local spot but I had a 3 star experience so that's the review I'm giving them. Interior was far too cold, I would have needed a jacket or hoodie (that I didn't need outside" to feel comfortable eating there. The food and coffee was okay but I payed as much as I do at Starbucks for less filling portions and latte that tastes a bit too flat for a morning coffee. They also gave me the wrong order. I ordered a turkey lunch bagel and I was handed a turkey breakfast bagel. It was in a brown bag and I left before fully realizing what had happened. The guy said "turkey" and "bagel" which is quite similar. I have a feeling that with this being fairly close to me I'll try it another day. Maybe. Not a great way to start my morning.

Nice bakery. Conveniently located near the auto mechanic I was trying for the first time. I got a breakfast bagel ( The California ) and did some work on my laptop while waiting for the mechanic to finish my car. Unfortunately their WiFi didn't have internet connection that day. The bagel was tasty. Bacon combines well with warm egg. I'm told it's one of their most popular items. Makes sense. I'd order it again. The place is dog friendly. They give doggie treats to their 4-legged guests.

nice spacious little cafe in downtown oakland, and there was always a short line. they offer loads of food and drink options, and get pretty creative with them! the seasonal banana milk latte did taste of banana but it was kind of artificial. the maple cardamom latte was better but I felt it could be stronger. I liked that both were not that sweet! we tried the egg/cheddar cheese/meat bagel and the california bagels, and they were nice and filling. the bagels weren't too dense and were soft. overall, a satiating quick meal with affordable prices!

Why the HELL have I never been here?!…read more for starters, I have a really bad gluten sensitivity, and finding a place like this feels like an oasis. Immediately after coming in, you are greeted with a shelf of delicious gluten free goods, a freezer full of REAL gluten free bread. Not the doodoocaca stuff you can buy at the regular store. I'm talking baguettes and sh*t. But then that's not all. They have an entire menu that you can dive into and munch on if you are just looking for a quick bite. What the f*ck Mariposa, hell yeah!

Let me begin by saying that I think this place has the best key lime pie I've ever tasted, and I…read morecan eat gluten. I also like that this location has longer business hours than most GF bakeries and serves breakfast all day as well as lunch items. Another big plus is the allergens are clearly labeled online and in the shop. However, I've had negative experiences here on 3 consecutive visits. I go here for my gluten free partner. On one of the visits, I ordered a stuffed bagel and waited for 15 minutes before going back up to the counter to say that I still hadn't received my order. It was busy, but by this time, the person standing at the counter had nothing to do. They apologized and made my order then, but the experience left a bad impression on me since it was my first time eating inside the bakery. On my next visit, I ordered several items inside the bakery to take home with my pickup order and received a pain de chocolate instead of a cinnamon donut, which I didn't notice until I got home. The pain de chocolate costs more and my partner wasn't able to share it with me due to a soy allergy. I suppose I could've been paying more attention, but these items don't have similar names at all, so I was not expecting this error. That said, I made a mental note to pay more attention when ordering inside the bake shop for future orders. On my next visit, I ordered a mocha cupcake and berry muffin, but the cashier rang me up for a hand pie instead of a muffin. Again, the hand pie was more expensive. This time I caught it and asked for it to be corrected. I work in customer service and I act with kindness when mistakes are made because we're only human. However, I believe 3 negative experiences in a row shows a pattern and warrants some attention. I will continue to patronize this business due to the reasons I mentioned at the beginning of this review, but I will now have to be vigilant in ensuring that I receive the correct items and am charged the correct amount. This of course is not ideal. I hope service improves.

I've also been supporting them because they're part of the Rewards Network Dining. I subscribe to the program to get Alaska/Atmos points on qualified dining, and I'm trying to get as many points as I can, so dining with restaurants as part of that program is helpful. You can order full cakes as well as they have slices avaialble for purchase. I got a tiramisu slice for my mom, which she said she liked. Good addiiton to the neighorhood.

Their primary focus appears to be on their special order cakes-which look amazing. The woman at the counter was friendly and helpful. After asking a few questions, I decided on the Passion Coco cake($5) and the Brown Sugar Pecan scone ($3.50). I enjoyed the Passion Coco cake slice. The coconut, passion fruit, and strawberry flavors worked well together, although the passion fruit flavor was very subtle. The sponge was cake moist, and the butter cream was spot on with its melt-in-your-mouth creamy texture. The Brown Sugar Pecan scone was good, but it had more of a dense muffin texture than a traditional scone, and the flavors were a bit muted. They did not skimp on the pecans though, which was nice. I would have enjoyed bolder flavors and a more traditional scone texture. Overall, I found that the walk in options are limited, but a great spot for locals to stop in and pick up tasty baked goods-and I would definitely order one of their beautiful and delicious looking cakes for a special occasion.

I was surprised that no one spoke of business specifics in their reviews. There is a limit to how many can come in; and you are not allowed to touch anything when inside. There are also no prices listed anywhere. We thought this was odd. Our order: * Personal Peach Cobbler * Walnut Brownie * Banana Pudding For these 3 items, our total was over $25. The service was friendly but a bit awkward. You are only able to see cases of dessert options, it is more of a pick-up point, not so much a bakery location you can browse. I wouldn't suggest coming as a large group, there is no where to sit to enjoy your baked goods and parking is very difficult. While the cobbler and banana pudding were good, I wasn't a fan of the brownie. My partner enjoyed the cobbler a lot, but when we did the calculations, the prices were astronomical. I'm not sure what gourmet difference the items contained, but we likely would not come back to this bakery considering prices and parking. The location is cute, in theory, but with no actual location or displays, or price lists- what you pay for doesn't balance out. The lack of transparency for prices was very sus to us. I'm sure the business will continue on especially with how much they charged. I can't imagine the bakery location and building rent costing a lot as far as operating costs; as it is small, and not expansive at all. The price of the baked goods doesn't even go towards branded packaging. Which could be understandable. The only beverages available that I seen was Nesquik. Steep prices with no justification - especially when you have other bakeries in the area, in addition to Nation's for Pies, very affordable and classic as well. E&J's has a great banana pudding and cobbler as well for $6- they are also a Black-owned business and family operated. Absolutely no bad intent, just wanting to share transparency in my review so Yelpers know that prices are not listed, which means they are subject to fluctuation- in this economy that is not a fair way of doing business. One star per item we liked, for this review. As much signage is visible upon entry regarding rules and limited persons for entry at a time- not one area provided prices; only signs that tell you not to touch. It's required by law for prices at every establishment to be listed, according to SB 478 for general consumer goods and services in California.
