Too much upselling. Every time I'd go see them for a regular cleaning, they'd find something or another wrong with my teeth and try to sell me more things to do. I eventually switched to another dentist who said the stuff suggested to me were not necessary at all. On the plus side, the staff were all super nice and courteous and Dr Ip is as well. This review is only for the dental hygienist/ assistant which is oh so amazing! I believe her name is Deanna? Anyways she did an amazing job cleaning my teeth! I have to say that even after reading the great reviews, I wasn't 100% confident I would get a good clean (I have been to bad dental offices in the past). However, she took the time to explain the step by step process and thoroughly DEEP cleaned my teeth! It's not like my teeth are full of black stains or anything by any means, but it was still good to have my teeth cleaned properly for once. So props to the DH! I recently got dental insurance and promised myself that I would use it this time instead of just putting it off. I'm not a fan of the dentists office. When I was a kid, I looked older and the technician was having a bad day and took out her relationship problems with men out on me. I've cursed her everyday since so needless to say, it was VERY IMPORTANT FOR ME TO FIND A GOOD OFFICE. I researched on YELP and read review after review. Out of ALL of the dentists office I read reviews for, SMILE360 is the only one that had all 5 star reviews. It's easy to understand why after going there today to get my teeth cleaned. 1. The office is clean! It smells nice and it's easy on the eyes. Doesn't feel clinical or like you are in a Doctors office. It's a nice vibe in there. 2. Parking is easy! 3. This place is easy to find and is central to everything! 4. The people who work here are really nice. They are friendly and helpful and will work with your insurance. I always appreciate pleasant people. 5. I did not have to wait. I was told my appointment was at 2:30, I showed up a little early to fill out some paperwork that you fill out on there IPAD and BOOM! I was getting my teeth cleaned. 6. The operating rooms are also clean and they have 2 televisions! They have one in front of you and one above you so that when you are tilted back you can still watch the television to keep yourself preoccupied! This was different and a nice touch. Usually you end up trying not to look up the dentists nose or it's just awkward but this was very comfortable. 7. The actual dentist who works on you, Dr. Ip, is friendly and has a great demeanor. He explains things well and is easy to talk to which makes it easy to understand what is going on. Overall, great experience and I'm going to get INVISALIGN here and also have my wisdom teeth removed. Thank goodness there aren't any man hating technicians here!!! read more

Going to the dentist can be a petrifying experience. I know it is. I avoided the dentist for 14 years before I finally sucked it up because I had too many nightmares about my teeth falling out. I've done 3 visits with Smile360 so far and with every visit, I find myself actually enjoying going to the dentist and looking forward to it. Dr Ip and his team are super awesome. It feels really good when you come in and they welcome you by name. I've always arrived early for my appointments and never had to wait 5 minutes to be seen and treated. The office is really clean and comfortable PLUS, each room is equipped with 2 TVs, one in front, one above, so you can watch your favorite shows to distract you from what's going on in your mouth. I absolutely love the team at Smile 360. The hygienist has to be my favorite. She's super gentle and very aware of how you're feeling. She knows when to slow it down and give you a break so your gag reflex isn't going crazy, but even if it does, she's very understanding and gives you time to recover before proceeding again. Both Dr. Ip and his hygienist are really great at educating you with what's going on with your teeth/gums and what needs to be done and they show you how your teeth/gyms are progressing after each treatment. I love the encouragement I get when they see improvements in my teeth/gums and make a huge celebration out of it. It definitely makes me want to do better with my oral hygiene. If you fear the dentist like I did, come to Smile 360. I was really nervous about going to the dentist. I haven't been to a dentist in at least 6 years. The reasons for this were financial (not having insurance), fear, and procrastination. I did not have dental insurance for a long time and I had had a bad experience with my last dentist. So when I finally did get insurance, I still put off going for a few years. I finally made myself make an appointment and went today. Their office is clean, the staff is super-friendly, knowledgeable and helpful, and the waiting room was not full of people. I wasn't berated for not flossing enough like I thought I would be. Dr. Ip immediately relieved all of my fears of returning to the dentist. He didn't just tell me "you have a cavity", he showed me on the TV in that room and indicated which part of my mouth it was in (bottom left, top right, etc.). I actually learned a lot during my visit. He was very patient and explained everything before he did it. I would highly recommend this place! Fast forward 3 years after my first visit to Smile 360 and my dentist and his team are still making me smile at their exemplary service. I happen to work nearby and first thing on an oh-so-convenient Monday morning, had some pretty bothersome tooth pain. I stopped into the office to see if I could maybe get an appointment to check out what the issue was, and they asked if I had a few moments to wait and they would take some xrays. Within 5 minutes I was whisked away to get some pictures taken of my pearly whites just to be told I had chipped a tooth. :( Darn. Dr. Ip came in and explained what he would need to do and how long it would take to fix, and to ease my dental fears applied a numbing anesthetic prior administering numbing injections. He and his assistant were done in a flash! For someone who has mild dental angst (from a previous not so fantastic dds) this chip repair was as smooth and fast as it gets. Yep, another 5-star review. I'm a cash patient, so that's really saying something. I thought $199 was a bit pricey for a new patient visit and cleaning, but it's true that 'you get what you pay for". Dr. Ip and staff are beyond thorough. This place is in a little strip right off Lamar, but the actual facility is very modern and pristine. My wait was less than 5 minutes before I was taken to the first room. The dental assistant used a lighted wand (not the technical term) to do an oral cancer screening on me, then a full set of x-rays of all my teeth, followed by a full set of digital images of all of my teeth. Then we headed one room over to go through all of the imaging with Dr. Ip. He came up with a suggested plan of action (gave suggestions for an aggressive course of action, or more conservative approach) and made sure all of my questions were answered before leaving me with the hygienist. I wish I had gotten the hygienist's name, but she was very responsive. She must have seen me flinch one too many times, and asked if I wanted her to switch to a different cleaning instrument. I nodded my assent and she switched to a different tool immediately. My teeth were polished to perfection and I was impressed with how thorough the entire experience was, highly recommend this dentist. read more

If you're new to Austin and looking for a dentist, look no further - they are absolutely fantastic here. I had my first appointment there this morning and was a total disaster but they were so kind and understanding. I went to the wrong dentist's office (typed in 360 dental into google maps by accident). I was also calling the number for 360 dental trying to ask for directions... Fortunately, at a little over 10 minutes past my scheduled appointment time, Perla called to check in and see if I would still be coming. She gave me the correct address and directions and assured me it was fine that I was going to be 20 minutes late. Everyone was so friendly and so helpful when I got there despite how late I was. They did a really comprehensive first time exam, xrays and cleaning. Dr. Ip was fantastic and took the time to "do a tour of my mouth" with me after the exam. He put up photos on the TV screen and talked to be about what was going on with my teeth - I thought that was so cool. Also, I hadn't been to a dentist in about 4 years and they didn't make me feel the slightest bit bad about it. I was pretty upset about having my first cavity but they were really positive and scheduled me to have it filled on Monday - talk about turn around time. I did Invisalign at Smile 360 and have nothing but positive things to say about Dr. Ip and his topnotch practice. His staff is incredibly attentive and neighborly and the office itself is immaculate. I had always wanted to fix my smile but had a lot (and I mean A LOT) of crowding and had previously been told by another dentist that braces wouldn't be a good idea so I definitely didn't think I would be a candidate for Invisalign. After Dr. Ip addressed the decay I had, we embarked on the Invisalign journey and I could not be happier with the results!!! It started with a quick and gentle digital scan (which I got to watch the whole time - super cool) and what was originally estimated to be a 2+ year case happened in about a year! Dr. Ip used an innovative procedure to make the movement more predictable and I had phenomenal results by my college graduation, something I'd long deemed impossible. It's obvious that he's extremely diligent about keeping up with the latest technology and truly cares about his patients' well-being. He is incredibly pleasant, thorough and never failed to patiently answer my questions, which were a lot! I had gone to a 'high end' dentist downtown and while their facilities were great I felt they kept trying to up-sell me. I had a filling fall out and when I went it to get it replaced they pushed hard for having me get a crown. When I asked directly if I needed it they said it was "best practice". Not wanting to feel like I'm being sold something just by wanting to take care of my teeth I looked around for another dentist and found SMILE 360. They were very easy to coordinate with. I work full time so don't have time to answer phone calls trying to schedule dentists appointments. At SMILE 360 they coordinated with me via email (which was awesome). I even had to reschedule once and they were very accomodating. Dr. Ip is very cool. What I liked the most about him was his conservative approach - meaning he said he saw some stains that may turn into cavities but instead of suggesting a filling right away we made a plan to keep an eye on them. I love going to this Practice. Dr.Ip is a wonderful dentist. He is very thorough and listens to all your concerns. When he recommends a product that will help maintain healthy teeth he never pushes it onto you like other dentists I have been to in the past. He doesn't at all make you feel that he is trying to make extra money from you. Sarah was the hygenist who took care of me and she did a fabulous job cleaning my teeth. Dr. Ip, his team and the facilities at Smile360 make it just about as pleasant as it could possibly be for a dentist visit. I've had just about everything done here, from a regular cleaning/check-up to having my wisdom teeth removed. The environment is super comfortable, the front desk and hygienists are great and personable (shout out to Sarah, she's awesome), and Dr. Ip is a wonderful dentist. When he recommended I have my wisdom teeth removed due to cavities in two of them, he put my x-rays and pictures up on one of the two TV's in the exam room and walked me through what was wrong. He was very knowledgable and took the time to make sure that I knew that there were a couple of options to remedy the situation. The entire process was transparent and I felt completely comfortable with his assessment, but in the end he left it up to me with what I wanted to do. I went to Smile 360 for the first time yesterday and when I left I called my boyfriend to tell him he HAD to go to Smile 360!! I texted all my friends that if they were looking for a dentist this was the place. The receptionist was a sweetheart and very welcoming. From the first 5 minutes I was there, I already felt like this was a good choice. The dental hygienist that took care of me was super friendly, very knowledgeable and explained exactly what she was doing throughout the whole process. The dentist then saw me and was very friendly as well, really took the time to talk to me and go over all of the X-rays and pictures. My last dentist usually had me wait 45-60 minutes before being seen and then I was in and out in 5 minutes. At Smile 360 I did not wait longer than 5 minutes to be seen and I was in there over 60 minutes!!! They did such a thorough job and I could tell they really cared about making sure I had all of my questions answered. The office itself is VERY clean and comfortable. Each room even has a TV which is kind of cool if you are at all nervous about the dentist because it is a great way to keep your mind on something else! By some miracle I made it 30 yrs without getting a cavity needing a filling... probably due to my deeply rooted fear of a drill in my mouth. I moved to Austin last yr and left my former life including my dentist behind, and finally made an appt at Smile 360 (super clean and nice) for a routine cleaning where I was informed I had a whopper!!! I was nervous about the filling to say the least, but Dr. Ip and everyone in the office made me feel completely at ease. He takes time to explain everything and keeps it light hearted and super friendly. Great sense of humor too. The filling took about 45 min but felt like 15. Went to Dr. Ip at Smile 360 for the first time today -- easy peasy, wonderful experience (which is rare talking about a dentist). My appointment was exactly on time, staff was friendly and sweet, office was clean, new and designed well, equipment cutting edge (love the double TVs so you can watch while having teeth cleaned), and Dr. Ip extremely knowledgable and laid back. I've never had a dentist spend as much time with me-- usually they leave much of the appt to their staff and are in and out (for a 6-month exam) but he walked through everything himself, explained the process and then got it all done quickly. It's important for me to feel like my dentist/doctors are up on all the newest technology/treatments and it's obvious that Dr. Ip is, offering me multiple options for treatment. I found Dr. Ip's office when we were living nearby about 3 years ago and I was no longer satisfied with my dentist at that time. Now we live more central and could easily go elsewhere and be closer, but I love this office so much I won't leave. The entire office is very responsive, personable, and great at what they do. My husband is also a patient and when he had some severe tooth pain over a weekend recently, we sent an e-mail to set up an appointment and received a call back during the weekend from Dr Ip himself who was out of town at the time...we were wowed and appreciated the great service and responsiveness. I was in today and as a stay-at-home Mom to 3 small children, Dr Ip knew I didn't have time to come in a second time for a filling so he made time to take care of what I needed in one appointment...all while his staff helped me keep an eye on my infant who was along with me!
