I never dreamed I would ever use those words to describe Oral Surgery -- I am beyond impressed. I arrived at the clinically-clean Henderson facility and was immediately welcomed by the sound of soft cruise/ lounge music and a tropical beach scene displayed on the big screen tv. The office is painted an 'island white' with few distractions, leaving one to focus on the soothing music and beach scene. It's SO tranquil and soothing I almost asked the other patron to dance, and we joked about ordering tropical drinks But no time for play, as I was promptly taken back for my appointment. Protocols are obviously in-place here, and followed to a "T." EVERYONE was on the same page and nobody missed a beat. From scheduling and intake, to pain-free and efficient oral surgery (due to surgeons' years of specialized experience), to post-op instructions and follow-up, I had nothing but confidence in this staff from start to finish. And I'm a dental scaredy cat. Dr. Gibson is so highly skilled that I felt absolutely NO PAIN or DISCOMFORT during the 15 minute extraction of a very well-rooted molar. I was awake and alert the entire time utilizing Nitrous ... laughing gas. No elevated heart rate, no sweaty palms, no fear; just confidence in my surgeon's ability based on tons of amazing detailed reviews. I'm 3 days post-op and STILL zero pain, zero swelling, zero bruising, no infection, no discomfort and NO pain meds (I declined) ... just XS Tylenol and Ibuprofen. I have several oral surgery experiences under my belt, and this was the only experience that has been 100% positive. That would be why they have a 5-star rating with nearly 1000 reviews. While this group was not in my Dental Plan, they came so highly recommended by so many neighbors on the NextDoor App that I booked with them anyway (the term "pain-free" was used in many reviews). Sometimes you need to go with The Best even if they're not in your Plan; imho surgery is one of those times. Gibson & Leavitt had many options from which to choose at a variety of price points, and they accept many insurances. Since their group was not in my Dental Plan I chose Nitrous (laughing gas) instead of my usual anesthesia. SO glad I did!!! I had no idea Nitrous could be 100% pain-free + it allowed me to drive home ten minutes later! I was beyond impressed with Dr. Gibson's expertise and the entire staff's professionalism. This is an amazing group of highly talented surgeons, doctors, and staff. I still can't believe my 'awake' Nitrous surgery was literally pain-free and that I am still 100% pain-free 3 days later. After I received my Explanation of Benefits from my insurance, I noticed several issues and called the insurance company to verify. They confirmed that my concerns were valid. The main issue was that my secondary insurance had been billed as the primary insurance. Delta confirmed they had no record of my primary insurance on file, only a note stating that I had another insurance plan. I worked with a Delta representative, and they explained that everything would need to be resubmitted either by the dental office or through a claim filed by me. When I brought this to the office staff's attention, I was not looking for an argument. I was simply trying to point out the issue so they could review it and correct the billing. Unfortunately, the staff became defensive and rude. That experience is what ultimately caused me to lose trust in the office after being a patient there for five years. To be clear, this review is not about the doctor's performance. My concern is strictly with the billing process and the way the office staff handled the situation. A billing mistake can happen, but how it is addressed matters. Patients should feel heard and respected when they bring forward legitimate concerns.

The dental hygienist and dentist I saw at Radiant Smiles were incredibly rude and dismissive during my visit. I was told I needed a deep cleaning that would cost around $500 just to clean half of my mouth. They also told me I had two small cavities that needed fillings and warned me that my teeth could eventually fall out if I didn't address the issues. Because of how serious they made it sound, I went ahead and had the fillings done. After my visit at Radiant Smiles, something didn't sit right with me, so when I traveled home I scheduled an appointment with my regular dentist for a second opinion. My regular dentist performed a full exam including X-rays, a full cleaning, fluoride treatment, and prescribed toothpaste. After reviewing everything, they told me that I did not need a deep cleaning and that the cavities I had been told I had were not actually present and the fillings were unnecessary. Another concerning issue was that Radiant Smiles didn't even attempt to run my insurance and instead presented everything as out-of-pocket costs. I also explained on my intake paperwork and verbally that I have an autoimmune disease and that my gums were swollen because of that. Despite this, they dismissed what I told them and insisted I needed antibiotics for my gums. My regular dentist confirmed that antibiotics were not necessary. Overall, the experience felt very fear-based and untrustworthy. I left feeling pressured into procedures that were not necessary and uncomfortable with how my concerns were handled. After comparing the care I received with my long-time dentist, the difference was night and day. If you value honest dental care and transparency, I would strongly recommend getting a second opinion before agreeing to treatment at Radiant Smiles.

The professional, kind, and truly caring staff--including Dr. Matt, Tracey, and the hygienist--are gone, and the quality has suffered dramatically as a result. I recently went in for a routine cleaning. During the procedure, I was told I had to wear the black plastic protective glasses, or I wasn't welcome there and should leave. When I explained to Dr. Timothy Luong that I'm severely claustrophobic and have a history of panic attacks from previous life-threatening surgeries, he showed zero empathy. He didn't listen to my concerns at all--he simply insisted on the glasses and, when I couldn't comply due to my medical condition, asked me to leave immediately. This complete lack of compassion and accommodation for a legitimate health issue was shocking and unacceptable. No effort was made to discuss alternatives or understand my situation. I felt dismissed and disrespected as a patient. I will never step foot in Ascend Dental again and strongly advise others to think twice before choosing this practice.
