Back in Vegas and finally got to try Smile Shota! I've heard so many great things about this place and always drive by it, so I had to stop in. I totally forgot it's located inside Cheongdam Food Hall, which is actually a huge bonus! There are tons of Asian food stalls, so you definitely can't go wrong with all the options. When we arrived, the line was super long. They have their own waitlist process, and we were #18 when we got there. We waited about 50 minutes, but once we were seated, everything moved quickly. Our server was so nice, always had a smile, and was happy to answer all our questions. It's AYCE, and honestly, I was really impressed with everything we tried! I would definitely recommend coming over to Chinatown in Vegas. There are SO many good food spots over here! Definitely worth the wait!
The food was great, probably one of the best tasting AYCE sushi and skewer that I've had, BUT... we were surrounded by FLIES. Not fruit flies, but the larger house flies. There were 7 hanging out on the divider next to me, and I saw some on the other booths as well since people were trying to swat them away. Wondering what makes this place have a fly infestation and the fact that I was fighting flies to eat my food, it wasn't an enjoyable experience at all. I hope management sees this and works on deep cleaning or some kind of fumigation to get rid of the flies. I'll be back after that.

The food here is good. And they have quite a bit on the menu selection for all you can eat. I focused on the nigiri and the sushi was fresh. They has the toro and uni and snow crab nigiri which I thought was pretty unique (but you can only order 1). The price is pretty competitive but during the late night and lunch hours, it is $26 which is a steal.
As always, great sushi, great service and great ambiance. New menu started earlier this month with a few new selections. Thankfully, the price has not changed. 25.95 for lunch and 34.95 for all-day/weekend prices.
We had a fantastic time at Smile Shota's It was our first time and everything was great, a special highlight to the food!!! The freshness of the fish was exceptional, the service was excellent and the whole atmosphere and experience was amazing. We had Chris and Ivanna as our servers both great kids, friendly and helpful. Definitely have found my very favorite new spot for AYCE sushi in Vegas. If you haven't gone stop looking and go there you'll have a great time. Food came out super quick and tasting delicious, cold fish yum, everything came out great. Really don't have a single negative thing to say.
With all the AYCE spots in town, finding a new place shouldn't be hard. My dad recommended Smile Shota, so we decided to check it out for lunch. A quick heads up right off the bat: parking is terrible. Be prepared to circle the lot looking for a spot. You might have better luck parking near the mechanic shop nearby rather than right outside the actual building, which is the Cheongdam Food Hall. Once inside, you will see a few different food concepts, but the sushi spot is immediately to your right. The greeting and seating process is pretty standard. The ambiance is nice and clean. The bamboo decor and green tones give it a relaxed, open lunch hall vibe. The food was good overall, and the service was incredibly fast. We tried a solid variety of items, but one dish stood out in a negative way. The lobster garlic bread was in fact not lobster, it was broiled salmon. That was super odd, and I am not sure why they would misrepresent that to customers on the menu. Everything else was good. The nigiri had a great fish to rice ratio instead of being mostly rice with a thin sliver of fish, and the rolls were well balanced. The seared wagyu was a bit lackluster, though. Overall, given how many AYCE places we have in Vegas, this one just kind of blends in with the rest
Went to Smile Shota for the first time to celebrate my son's graduation (he's a sushi FANATIC) and had the best experience. Comfortable and clean booths; Got AYCE, ordered mostly nigiri (get the miso salmon, yuzu yellowtail, and bluefin tuna.... Incredible fish to rice ratio, which is how you know a sushi place is good!). Was packed and took a bit for the server to come between orders because it was so busy, but he was great, and very helpful in sharing some recommendations. The busser was also attentive and always made sure we had enough table space between orders. Once we did order, the food came out very quickly. Also, the host and hostess were super kind and helpful, and gave my little kiddo tokens for the rubber ducky claw machine. Easily one of my favorite AYCE spots in town! Edit: adding this video of my son I found after we went because, well, this speaks for itself lol.
Still very good even though they seem to change the recipe of items often. Consistency seems to be difficult for them. Service is always very nice and prompt, but you do have to keep on them about missing items. Luckily i write my entire order out and check off what has come and what hasn't. The soju cocktails are very good. Good variety and value from the menu. Parking is always challenging and it's always busy even at 4:30pm
We have been here numerous times. We have tried other AYCE places and still come back to this place. The quality is top notch and the rice ratio on the nigiri's is the best. So little. We opted for lunch $24.95 instead of all day $34.95 because we couldn't justify all the items under all day except for Salmon Kama and soft shell crab. Come to find out, both items were no longer one per person, it's one per table! So not worth it as part of the package. It's more cost effective to order à la carte. We stuck with yuzu yellowtail, garlic salmon, seared salmon, eel, basic salmon, mackerel, and a few baked rolls, honey pork belly. Their affogato quality has decreased in size. It's such a smaller scoop of ice cream. This place is still the best value, quality, and fast service.
This is a very reasonably priced ayce sushi spot at $25.95 for weekday lunch. It is also worth the hype! The nigiri all come out beautifully cut with a way higher ratio of fish to rice. Everything from the service, cleanliness of the restaurant, to the delicious and very fresh sushi made for a great experience. I came for lunch on a Monday and there was no wait. The menu options are huge from appetizers, nigiri, soups, rolls, handrolls, baked and fried rolls, poke and more. The yuzu yellowtail was a big hit at my table along with the mixed seafood poke bowl. I couldn't fit enough in my stomach to be able to try everything I was interested in! The desserts were great also! They offer affogato which was super rich and tasty. The other option was a ice cream cup and they have a lot of good flavors like matcha, ube, etc. Smile Shota is a sister restaurant of Neko Sushi and is inside the Cheongdam Food Hall. Their quality definitely matches the high expectations of the Neko Sushi line of restaurants.
Still love everything about this place, back this time with out baby. The food court was a perfect cool-off space without having to stand outside in 110°. Food, as per usual, was delicious and fresh, despite me shoving it into my face as quickly as possible to take the baby back from my husband. Service was prompt, attentive and friendly. I was able to give my husband a break to finish his food by grabbing matcha 10 steps away at Broken Coffee-
Had a major sushi craving and finally got to try this spot. Loved it! Great energy, super welcoming staff, and a bright atmosphere. The sushi was incredible--literally melted in my mouth. Sorry for the lack of photos, but the food looked (and smelled) too good to wait. Will definitely be adding this to my regular sushi rotation!

I was so looking forward to trying this place but for me it did not live up to the hype or our groups expectations. If you have a food allergy, this place is not for you. If that's not an issue, than this place would be a 3 star in my book. We specified a food allergy to shrimp upon sitting down and our server assured us it wasn't an issue, and confirmed that all rolls could easily be made without shrimp. He just said not to order any fried rolls are the oil would contain shrimp. Easy; we can do this we thought. We even reminded him every time we ordered, yet somehow rolls with the shrimp appeared on our table anyways. Once the food was dropped off he saw we weren't eating it and ended up having someone else take over our table it seemed. The other worker appologized and said she wouldn't charge us for not eating the rolls (we were on AYCE) and took them away, but it took a good amount of time before they came by to check or noticed. Luckily for our group the person with the food allergy didn't touch or eat any of that food as they were cautious. However, this could potenitally be a big issue for someone and this establishment needs to take better care of customers (or honestly just say no, you shouldn't dine here). Initially, our waiter seemed really nice. But once we ordered our first round of food he kind of disappeared and then someone else took over our table (she was pleasant). The food was good, but it didn't rock my tastebuds like other sushi places in town. They had a few standout items on their nigiri or limited menu (like tuna carpacio), but a lot of the other stuff was just average compared to other spots in town. I loved the smiley decor everywhere. Definitely makes you happy just looking around. Glad to have tried the place but won't be back. read more

Smile shota is still my #1 favorite sushi place! I've tried all over the valley and smile reigns supreme!! I took my friend yesterday for her birthday and had no idea that they came out and sang! Better than any bottle service across Vegas. They came out with flashing lights and a sign, not to mention a beautiful and very very yummy ice cream with a candle for her to blow out. Yet again they blow away my expectations. Jerry and Luis are consistently attentive and make the experience even better! read more
Visted at Lunch Time. So picked Lunch AYCE plan. The atmosphere was good. The server frequently check on us! My favorite dish there was Seaweed Salad!!! It was way tasty than other regular seaweed salad. Majority of order I did was nigiri. It was okay. but a lot of dipping sauce or something saucy on top. As Japanese, the minus point of Smile Shota was Not tasty rice..."Shari" is important part of sushi for me. Not Seasoned well and too soggy. The AYCE price is a little steeper than most other AYCE sushi spots (~$29) that provide better quality seafood. The Nigiri was okay, nothing to write home about, had just about a little of everything, the Garlic Salmon stood out the most, really liked it. The pork belly and kalbi was under seasoned, the spicy cucumbers were over seasoned, the rice to fish ratio was great. Definitely recommend the Garlic Salmon, Stuff Tomato from the limited menu. Paprika Salmon, Super White Tuna, was decent. The tempura sauce for the shrimp tempura was great, but the sauce for the agedashi tofu was too vinigery. Really liked that they had shishito peppers here, made to perfection. Customer service was decent. We came for late night happy hour, it was quite busy. Music wasn't too loud, didn't have to raise our voices to chat. Happy hour prices are decent (~$26)[Does not include the All Day (A) items on the menu]; which was still pretty decent. read more
Definitely one of my top favorite places in Vegas for sushi. This was my first time trying it and I loved it. One of the top all you can eat sushi places for sure! The parking was inconvenient so you'll most likely have to park out back bc it's an old Walgreens converted into a restaurant which is such a large restaurant for such a small parking area, however the food is great. If you go during lunch expect to walk far. Otherwise food is great and service was good! read more

This is located inside of the Cheongdam Food Hall. The parking lot out front is always packed. But that might speak volumes to how good this food hall is it's always crowded every restaurant in this place. This is not my first time here, first time reviewing it, and checking out the food. First off service is always great very friendly very welcoming. The day that we were there, it was really crowded so they only had small tables available, we got seated against the wall, but they checked with us first if that was OK I said it was fine because we were hungry. Their menu is large, but they're very helpful in offering up suggestions and explaining dishes that you might have questions about. When I go to all you can eat sushi I usually stick to my favorites first to Check. I'll see how everyone else does it. For example, the Hamachi, super white tuna, and yuzu yellowtail, miso soup and all the side orders. For the dessert options we got the ice cream it comes in cute cups. I have to say everything here is tasty and fresh plus the sushi guys are fast with the orders. This place will be added to my rotation in my AYCE sushi spots. For all you can eat, we were pleasantly surprised by how great the sushi was here. Although the price point is on the higher side compared to other spots around town, I think $35 per person is definitely worth it for the quality that you receive. From the sushi to the meat skewers to the udon, everything head. Service here is really on point and I never felt neglected because despite our server managing what looked like a huge section, he was on top of it. In fact, our miso soup arrived before we even finished ordering our first round. Ambience is fun, clean, and the smiley faces everywhere were a nice touch. Definitely will be back. I think this is our new all you can eat sushi spot. read more

Have to edit my review since previously it was used to get the free mochi. Food: 3/5 Very basic menu in my opinion, compared to other sushi spots. This place is more expensive than other AYCE spots. They have "unique" dishes, like rose mussels and steak, but they aren't good. I like the ratio of fish to rice though in the nigiri. They give small bits of rice so you do not get full faster. However, nothing stood out to me. The green tea ice cream was horrible, I'd stay away from that. Get the affogato instead for dessert. Service: 3/5 Yuni was our server. Really great sushi spot. She was attentive but slowed down for the duration of our dinner. She came before 1 hour was done and said we needed to put our final order in. It felt too quick. Especially when the restaurant was empty and nobody in the waiting area. I've never seen a sushi spot do that, not even the busy ones in Chinatown. Just be aware that they WILL stop feeding you after 60 minutes. Posting a review gets you free mochi, which the server was nice enough to tell us. But the mochi wasn't good quality. Ambiance: 3/5 Very cute place. It's clean. There are a lot of smiley faces everywhere. I feel like the tables are too close together. There were kids at the table next to us that were visibly trying to get our attention and being noisy. Other than that, great vibes. Overall, the food, service, and ambiance is mediocre. Fantastic spot for AYCE Sushi! My friends and I came in on a Saturday night and there was no wait. Everything we had was delicious, but I would personally avoid getting the spicy seafood salad (super filling) and the Q roll (not bad for a light option but still, eh). The salmon egg was a little too salty for my liking, but most of the other dishes were good! I would highly recommend ordering the special Nigiri's. Our server Gaby was fantastic! She was very attentive and was also very friendly. Overall, the food was delicious and our server was wonderful. Looking forward to coming back here! read more
My hubby and I love our "usual" sushi spot however we sometimes venture out in search of another place to brag about. This place is it !!! Ron R was our greeter/server and everything about him was excellent. I'd steal him if I had a restaurant !! This location has a wonderful menu with some different options which is hard to do in the world of AYCE sushi. Most of the options we chose were in the nigiri/sashimi category but we did enjoy a roll or two just to sample all their goods. Hard to remember everything but, suffice it to say, we will definitely be back very soon !! read more

Absolutely amazing service, I've been coming here for the past year and it's been a pleasure dining here. The atmosphere is always warm and cozy here! The food is very quick. You sit down and order, 2 minutes later the food is at your table! Even when it's busy you can expect to see the food within 3-4 minutes instead. Still, extremely fast service! Their portions are always the same and you'll find yourself satisfied everytime you dine here. I will definitely be a loyal customer here and have already recommended multiple friends here! read more

Came here fourth of July at 3 pm & did the AYCE All day for about $35 a person. Greatly priced with huge variety on the menu. We got seated immediately & there was lots of seating inside. This place is inside a nice food court with lots of parking as well! The nigiri was delicious & was so good. I would 100% recommend coming here to try. read more
One of the better AYCE sushi places I've been to since moving to Vegas. Interior is clean and bright. Love the food hall that's right next door. Will try those next time. Food was great, service is quick and easy. My favorite was the lemon salmon nigiri. I think I ate like 10 of them. I really love that you can order half orders of the specialty rolls so you can try a bunch. read more

Can we make reservations for 12 people?
There does not appear to be a place for reservations. I was with a group of 5 and they just took our name when we arrived. For that large of a group, I'd call to see.

Yes, they have a whole host of appetizers besides sushi, noodle dishes, and other menu items like beef, steak, shrimp tempura, scallops, etc.
Is AYCE lunch for $20 Monday-Friday?
the lunch special is $19.95 monday - thursday (11am - 4pm) it ends on june 19th. happy hour is $24.95 (9pm - closing).
What is the cost for more Uni after that 1 round from Ayce?
