Brought my mother in and it was lovely, didnt notify them of who I was or anything about our service and they still treated us with the best customer service. Jae came to talk with us afterwards to apologize and chat after overhearing my mother commenting on how lovely the place was and how she was glad it seemed like a one off issue. To start, the room was beautiful, but somehow it didn't give off sushi restaurant vibes. The service was very proper, perhaps even a little too professional. After seeing the prices on the menu, though, I can understand why a certain level of service is expected. I prefer a more welcoming atmosphere, and this felt a little too stiff. We definitely didn't hold back when ordering. Everything we tried was delicious and incredibly fresh. The Treasure Box, an assortment of fish end cuts served with sushi rice, was $80 and worth it. We also tried items like the $88 A5 foie roll, which was tasty, but I couldn't justify the price. We also got half dozen oysters which I forgot to take a pic of, also loved. I thought the sashimi was just okay. More in line when I go to an AYCE place than à la carte honestly. I would probably order separately than getting one of the boxes. There is nice additions like small pieces of yummy fruit that come with but I'm not sure if that's what is increasing the price point. We chose one close to the sushi bar so we could watch the chef work. We reviewed the menu and picked a few items. My wife went more Al a carte while I chose the premium sashimi platter I started with miso soup, and the presentation is really cool, comes in a little egg bowl. My wife got several pieces of sashimi, including the golden eye special, wagyu and yellowtail. We split the king crab roll. The premium sashimi platter is 6 different fish, 3 pieces each. It was all very good and included some fatty tuna. The crab roll was amazing, may be one of the best things I've ever eaten. So soft and delicious The uni toast was to die for. Just incredible Wife loved all her sashimi, everything is prepared perfectly and looks like art. For dessert I got the viral strawberry shortcake and the mochi dessert. Ice cream on an Oreo covered in a mochi blanket! Both were delicious Have a limited bar menu, wife got the wagyu old fashioned and I got a saki Only negative was service at the end. We were in the Southwest area and in the mood for sushi so, we went to Doanburi. Uni Toast: 2 pieces, housemade brioche, crème fraiche, chives. So creamy without tasting briny. 5/5 Salmon Crispy Rice: 6 pc, sweet soy glazed, spicy aioli, garlic chips. You can get other crispy rice variations: avocado or tuna. The rice seemed sticky. 3/5 Jewelry Box: Chef's choice of sushi so, what kinds of sushi you get is always a surprise. For mine, I got nigiri: ama ebi, salmon, otoro, scallop, yellowtail; tuna roll; castella cake; wakamomo. The setting and atmosphere at Doanbui are absolutely gorgeous--the ambience is definitely 5 stars. The staff was also attentive and welcoming, which had me looking forward to an amazing meal. Unfortunately, the food was just okay and nothing particularly stood out to me, especially considering the price. I also feel the menu could offer more variety. If you're dining with friends or family where some people may not eat fish or have seafood allergies, there aren't as many options as I would expect from a restaurant this popular. I always want to see local restaurants do well and support our local businesses, but I think this place could use some improvement in the food, add a few more protein for those with allergies and overall value. Such fresh fish and fantastic execution on the food! The treasure box was amazing. All the cuts felt like they just came out of the ocean. The raw shrimp, toro, bits of pickled daikon, small flowers, iruka, tamago pieces, perfectly prepared sushi rice all coming together in delicious spoonfuls. We inhaled that lickety split. The scallop roll was so balanced from the butteriness of the avocado to the ratio of rice on the roll and the yummy scallops. The seabass butter lettuce cups were a great starter. You can feel all the textures and delicious seabass. I would love to come back to try more appetizers and rolls, while getting another treasure box. The wait for food was longer than we typically expect during non peak meal hours but the food was well worth the wait. For reference, we arrived at 3:45 pm on a Friday and our treasure box didn't arrive until 25 minutes after we ordered. We did the get the appetizer before that. We also finished inhaling the treasure box before our roll came. It's a fancy feel in the restaurant so I can understand relaxed dining pace. Service was great. We wanted to pick something up quick on the way to work; and ChatGPT recommended this restaurant. We only got shrimp tempura and a California roll for my 8 year old daughter. It is SO well worth it, as you can taste the love that went into it. This is the first time we have been given a cute little bottle of soy sauce to go. So....uh..... this is the best sushi I've ever had. Normally I'd write a longer review but simply but this sushi is really, really amazing. Every piece of sushi I had put in my mouth tasted like it was carefully prepared, particularly the quality of the ingredients. Each piece of fish tasted like it just came out the sea, every bite of rice had the perfect resistance and amount of vinegar. If you normally go to places like Sapporo sushi or ayce sushi you end up thinking paying anything more than $30-40 a person is enough and sushi doesn't get much better than that. You would think $80 is kind of steep if you're used to regular sushi spots in vegas, but if you want a delicious experience that can make you breathless for a second, come to Doanburi. Well it does. Come order the treasure box and let your tongue thank you later. I'm going to be back very soon to try more of the menu and think about the prices later. read more

Living in Vegas I feel we are so spoiled with GOOD affordable sushi spots so when you feel like treating yourself to something more upscale, the expectations are through the roof. I really wanted to love this place. It's a newer restaurant and the space is beautiful. You can tell a lot of thought went into the design. The food presentation was also really nice, especially the chirashi. For me, though, the price just didn't match the overall experience. The portions were pretty small, the menu felt limited, and the sushi rice could have had more flavor. At this price point, I was expecting a little more. I also wish there were more variety and options on the menu like mocktails, a better tea selection, some salads, and a few more protein dishes would have been nice. And with donburi being part of the restaurant's name and concept, I was surprised there weren't more creative donburi options. There's so much competition in the area, so having a few really unique or signature bowls could help give this place its own identity and make you want to come back specifically for something you can't get elsewhere. As for the price, I typically don't mind paying more. However, usually at a higher price point, you're also paying for the atmosphere and that feeling of being somewhere you'd want to go for a birthday, date night, or special occasion. The restaurant wasn't very full when we went, so it felt a little quiet and was missing some of that energy. Since they're still new, I think there could have been little things they could do to make the experience feel more personal too. Even having the chef come by the tables or sharing a little about the story behind the restaurant and the concept would add something special. I really do hope they succeed because the space is beautiful and there's definitely potential. What an experience! Chef Jae is truly a master at her craft. Words can't fully describe how enjoyable this meal was. From start to finish, the service was top tier, an all around amazing experience. We found Doanburi on TikTok and decided to try it on a Sunday afternoon, and we're so glad we did. The quality and flavor of everything were outstanding, with each dish clearly curated with love and passion. We ordered the sashimi salad, cucumber salad, edamame, wagyu dumplings, Summertime roll, kimchi crab roll, scallop and salmon roll, and how could I forget, the sea bass butter lettuce wraps. For dessert, we had the strawberry cake, and wow... the perfect balance of sweet without being overwhelming. When I say everything was incredible and I can't choose a favorite, I truly mean it. The interior decor is clean, upscale, and classic. You can tell a lot of thought and intention went into every detail of this establishment. My wife and I were very excited to try this new spot for her birthday! Luckily when we came it was a week day night and not super busy. For starters the ambiance was very relaxing, and welcoming. We were immediately welcomed in and seated right away by our server Robin. We started with the Beef Tartare and Tuna crispy rice. First off the freshness of the beef tartare and the tuna right off the bat was phenomenal. You can tell they use fresh and quality ingredients. We ate so many different nigiri pieces as well as a few rolls. This was easily the best rainbow roll I've ever had. The fish on it was top tier. Everything came out in a timely manner they didn't have us waiting around too long and all the dishes were spaced out perfectly so we could enjoy the flavors and then clean our pallets. Sometimes sushi tends to be either good or bad if you eat it often enough, but I will say that not very often does it make me go wow! But wow! You can taste how buttery and fresh the fish is here. Congrats on opening a brick and mortar, Doanburi! It was awesome to experience dining in on their first day open :) The restaurant is so spacious and beautiful. They have plenty of tables and bar seating available. We came for a 3pm reservation and here's what we ordered and what we thought! Jewelry Box: SO good!! Every piece of nigiri was so flavorful and fresh. Everything about each nigiri was perfect, chef Jae definitely picks a great cut of fish. I loved the wakamomo that came with as well, so addicting. Wagyu beef tartare: Personally, I would skip this next time. Could not really taste the wagyu at all. The peaches added a nice texture to the dish though, and I did enjoy the nori chips. Shiromi carpaccio: SO good!!!! The yuzu vinaigrette made the greens so delightful, and paired excellently with the fish. Sea bass butter lettuce wraps: SO good as well. I could've ordered this twice. The sea bass has such great flavor in this dish. Crispy rice w/ salmon: These were good, pretty standard as far as crispy rice goes. The other two apps above were my favorites for sure. Supreme Tiger roll: So happy we chose this roll! Super simple but tasty and refreshing, definitely one of my favorite rolls that I have had ever. The light is low and very intimate and the music was good. We order the beef tartare, wagyu gyoza, and Brussels sprouts to start. All were really tasty and we enjoyed them all. During our visit, the soundtrack was a random mix of EDM, pop, and country like one would find in a much lower end establishment. This just simply doesn't fit the restaurant or experience at all - with water glasses from Italy, beautiful glass vessels for the homemade soy sauce, etc. I wholeheartedly think that a curated soundtrack of New Age or contemporary instrumental music would elevate the dining experience tenfold. However, we were advised to try the Brussels sprouts appetizer, which unfortunately turned out to be the only thing I could taste the rest of the day.
