I like this place. Very clean and modern. Staff is very friendly and polite. Dr. Le is a very good dentist. My 10 year old had an extraction and was in no pain. They try to make your visit as pain free and comfortable as possible. I love it that they use an oral rinse that numbs you for deep cleaning. Overall, this is one of the best-run dental practices I have visited. As other reviewers have stated, this office is pretty good when it comes to technology. As a first time patient, I expected to fill out my medical information on a clipboard, but wound up doing it on a tablet. Likewise, when it came time to pay for my visit, the card got swiped on a square reader and a receipt emailed to me. Can't go wrong with paperless. There is also free Wi-fi. The waiting area is nice, and the large chairs are comfortable, especially if you need to sit for long periods of time. Everyone was really friendly and patient with all my questions. I received X-rays, an oral examination, a deep cleaning, and a couple of small fillings - all in my first visit. To be honest, I didn't think that there would be time to do all that, but they squeezed it in and the last two were more or less pain-free, so props to the staff for making it happen. The goodie bag comes with a toothbrush, toothbrush cap, floss, toothpaste and an hourglass so you know how long to brush. I had a great experience here and would definitely recommend this place to friends and family. read more

I have been going here for about two years and now they are getting really greedy with my health insurance and having me pay out of pocket! I have a PPO and every time I go they try to find some extra treatment to bill me on. I really like Doctor Le but I just don't like how the administration looks for extra unnecessary treatment to bill you on. They told me I needed a crown on a tooth that was already filled in. They wanted me to get a $300 crown just because they felt that the tooth would give me problems later. So why in the world would I pick at my molar just so they could feel better? It wasn't giving me any issues and it was fine the way it was? What kind of doctor would recommend shaving a tooth down for a crown if that tooth has no problems? They also suggested for my daughter to get her wisdom teeth removed and wouldn't tell me if insurance covered the procedure until I came in to the appointment. So I just cancelled it, what kind of dentist would not tell you if a procedure is not covered especially if they have your insurance information? Ridiculous! I am seriously thinking of getting a new dentist fro the family or just going to Tijuana and getting all my treatment for much less! read more

Let me start by saying, there are some really kind, caring and personable folks in this office! We had great experiences with myself and daughter here until the last visit. At the end of the year, I was going in for a cleaning. They ended up doing a deep cleaning. They gave me a care plan that they wanted us to take care of as soon as possible to "get the most out of my insurance." They told me I needed a root canal but I wasn't even in pain nor did I have sensitivity. The tooth they were concerned about had been previously filled. They saw a few cavities too and said dental concerns are more common postpartum. The plan they had with the price list was painful to look at! I was freaking out just at the cost of the deep cleaning. In total even after insurance, I'd be paying them A LOT! The woman that did the cleaning was lovely. An admin woman went to talk to Doctor Le and returned telling me that I won't have to pay anything out of pocket today and that they don't typically do this but they wanted to keep me as a patient. I felt like this was weird to begin with (with my insurance) but just carried on. Fortunately, I didn't go back as we were leaving for holiday vacation soon. Here's the kicker....A family friend of ours is a dentist where we vacationed. We stopped in his office over the holiday break. My husband is active duty military & our dental insurance only allots so much, so we decided this would be the best course of action for us. He did an exam, x rays and took care of the cavities and said I absolutely did not need a root canal! When I returned home, I cancelled the next appointment I had scheduled while there last time. A few days later, I received the billing statement from their office from that visit that I apparently owed nothing & my insurance covered. Hmmmm. I'm glad this was my course of action but I am rather saddened by the shady behavior displayed by these folks and I sincerely hope they don't make a habit of this. I can only imagine what someone who didn't pursue another option would have been roped into by this deception. They seemed so kind and genuine but obviously they just wanted to make some money. I love how they can play music for you when you are getting work done on your teeth or you can watch movies. I had scheduled an appointment here two weeks ago and spoke with the lady that called me back can't remember her name. When I got there at my appointment 7/11/19 at 4:30pm the two ladies in the front one who was on the right side I believe she was Asian she didn't find me on the appointment list. I told her thats weird because one of your staff members is the one that had called me and scheduled the appointment for today cause the doctor wasn't available during Fourth of July week. Anyways after thinking wow I'm here and they are looking at me like if I just walked in then the lady to the left she is a short Mexican lady she tells me "oh it was probably was me!", don't worry you will be seen today! She said it pretty rude!! I looked at her like wow not even a sorry cause obviously it was her fault for not booking my appointment. Well I ended up filling out paper work because the reviews on yelp were good on the Dr. Le, so finally after maybe 20 minutes I get called in and a lady name Christine who did my x-rays she was so sweet and kind she let me know what she was gonna do. I had told her I wasn't happy how I thought I was booked for my appointment but getting here finding out I wasn't. She immediately apologized to me. Then I met Dr. Le he is really sweet as well and he was gentle with my teeth and explained what I needed to get done. He made me feel comfortable which I liked cause I hate the dentist :/ after seeing the doctor the lady who is Mexican she was explaining my balance and what I would need to get done she was rude! When I mentioned something to her it was like no you shouldn't get that cause it's cheap the mouth guard when I spoke to the doctor and he told me it was fine. Also when I told her if I just want to get the main tooth fixed first how much would that be? She seems annoyed and was like ok well we will just put the other stuff on hold. Then when I asked if I could get a copy of my x-rays she like it's $25 dollars and I was like wow I just paid you $49 dollars but ok. I did not pay $25 for my x-rays. Then I mentioned about the credit care and they both told me I need to do it online cause I'm the office they have to sent out and wait like 3 days in order to do something. I just feel those two ladies are not friendly at all. The two ladies in the front should have a more happier attitude in their job cause they both seem like they were mad and just rude. I have been to another dentist called Friendly Dental Care and their staff is so welcoming and make you feel welcome and are nice explaining things to you. The Doctor is great too!! So if you plan to come here be aware the two ladies that I mentioned are not a happy campers!! And if the short Mexican lady is named Maria we'll the yelp reviews speak a lot on how rude she is and if it's not her then that lady that I'm speaking of is rude both of them are! I could really talk this place up, so I'll keep it to the point. OFFICE- The office staff is quick and efficient. I have been in twice, once for a cleaning and once for 2 cavities. They got me right in both times with little wait. Also, the woman who took my x-rays was gentle and quick. DENTIST- What impresses me most is Dr. Le. He cleaned my teeth with some high-tech device that was painless - no blood, no soreness whatsoever! Further, he was gentle and attentive, and always willing to explain what he was doing, why he was doing it, and what he was using. After the cleaning he sat for more than 5 minutes answering other questions and concerns I had (it had been over a year since my last check-up). A week later I came in for 2 cavities. The procedure was quick (I was in the building for 35 minutes total!) and although not painless (I had to have drilling), I experienced less pain than I can remember for having fillings put in. What is more, Dr. Le often asked me how I was doing and if I needed a break. Very considerate, he treated me like a person, not a patient. MONEY- A little self reporting: (1) I am a (poor) BIOLA student with no dental insurance. (2) I care about my teeth. Anyhow, Dr. Le's staff really worked with me to make to make the procedure affordable. I went to Mexico just over a year ago to have cavities and fillings done - the same procedure Dr. Le did. He was able to do the same procedure for a comparable price (about 1/3 the cost of most other dentists in the area), he did it more quickly and less painfully, and I only had to go across the street from BIOLA, not to Mexico! I RECOMMEND DR LE & FAMILY DENTAL TO ALL, ESPECIALLY BIOLA GRAD STUDENTS!!! read more

Family Dental Works is the best experience I ever encountered. I have sensitive gums so whenever teeth cleaning comes around every dentist makes my gum bleed. Dr. Lee was very gentle with cleaning and very attentive if i was ever uncomfortable. The staff if very professional and caring as well. Everything they have is new. X-rays are digital and the toothbrush they give away at the end you can only get them from dental companies they're not sold in stores. While you're getting your teeth clean they put on a movie for you as well. It's awesome! read more

I came in for an annual check up and was completely blown away at the service that was provided. Everyone in the office provided first rate care. Front staff had no problem running my dental insurance which made things very affordable. Nick and Dr. Le were both very gentle and thorough in their patient care. I switched dentists due to the high rated reviews I read about Ryan Le. However, I have not had the pleasure of being able to be a new patient to Dr. Le Ryan due to they are fully booked. The receptionist I was speaking with is Gipsy and let me just say that I have already encountered poor service. I phoned earlier and she kept saying the connection was bad so I called again and the lady whom I spoke with prior to being transferred to Gipsy heard me perfectly. I asked to be seen and she told me they were completely booked until September, I asked her if there was any way that she could fit me in due to I was a new patient. She said no because it was back to school and everyone had already booked an appointment. I have been in the medical industry and I know there is always room for last minute appointments it is all about time management. I conveyed to her I was already experiencing poor service and that why should I stay with this dentist as opposed to choosing a new dentist. She said you can go ahead and choose another dentist, she treated me as her office did not need me as a patient because they already had enough patients. I have learned as a business owner myself that you should never let success go to your head and failure to your heart. The excuse Gipsy continued to give me was that there was bad phone connection, what I find particular is she was able to hear my address and phone number clearly when I provided it. This is not adequate customer service. I will be calling Ryan Le on Monday to further discuss this poor customer service that I was rendered. So my wife has appointment scheduled for a Tuesday at 4:30. She gets a text a few days before stating she needs to reply to confirm her appointment and if she doesn't she will be charged so of course she confirms. The next day she gets a call and a message saying the same thing. Umm she already confirmed the appointment so why are they calling to confirm again? They need to get that system figured out. Day of the appointment comes she arrives 5min early and the receptionist has her do the standard paperwork to update records. 25 min pass and they tell her they are running behind and if she wants to stay and wait?! Also some one has been waiting since 2:00 and are still waiting! Why not call before hand to inform patient that they are running behind and have them decide if they want to wait before they leave work early and drive to the office? Also you knew as soon as she walked in that you were running WAY behind so why not say anything before she starts to do the paper work? So of course she leaves no one has time to be waiting at a dentist office all day when you have a scheduled appointment That is horrible customer service too many dentist around to be treated like that. Let's just say this is the first Dental office that has made me feel comfortable and doesn't try and upsell you with some ridiculous procedures!! Dr.Lee honestly cares about his patients and checks in on you to see if your okay, I can't see myself ever going to another dentist this is the first time i have ever felt this way with a dentist, I came in for a tooth ache and some questions about another tooth and he was able to help, what I love most is that everything he does he explains to you and shows you so you definitely understand what he is talking about! My biggest concern was this gray looking tooth I had in front of my mouth which i was becoming very insecure about, Dr.Lee took care of it and I just LOVE my smile now. There's advertising ALL over their business of what they will give you if you post a review, or like them on Facebook. Beware! I took my daughters here as we wanted a new dentist closer to home. BIG mistake. We loved our old dentist and had been going there for over four years. We shoud have never left. After xrays, an exam and cleaning, the dentist told my 14-year-old daughter she had 12 cavities. Yes, you heard correctly, 12. Mind you, she has been to the dentist twice a year since she was 3 for her cleanings. Her last cleaning was in September and she had ZERO cavities then. Hmmmm, come again? I couldn't believe in six months she developed 12 cavities. I decided a second opinion back to my old dentist was necessary. I asked for her xrays and after signing a consent, the office clerk emailed them to me. The dentist called me to explain his diagnosis, and I informed him that it was very difficult to believe and thanked him for his call. I took my daughter to her old dentist and guess what...... after a thorough review of the x-rays, an even more thorough exam of her mouth and review of the BOGUS treatment plan given to me, guess what his diagnosis was? Yep, ZERO cavities. Unbelievable it seems, but very true. Beware and do not go to this shady office who tries to rip you off with lies. Could it possibly be that I have great PPO insurance with no co-pays and this lying, deceitful dentist saw only dollar signs! DO NOT GO HERE !!! read more

I cannot say enough good things about this office and the people who work in it. I went because I got a good offer and im so happy I did! I, like probably every other person alive hate the dentist. I get super nervous when going. They were extremely nice and made me feel at ease. Whenever I needed to take a break or just compose myself they let me and gave me all the time I needed. They even called me the next day to check on me (I had quite a few cavities filled) and to make sure everything was as it should be. Such nice people and a beautiful office! I actaully used to work in that building when it was a tanning salon and its unrecognizable! Normally I don't write reviews. but I feel that this place deserves it. It's hard to find a good dental office because for the most part, it's a pretty scary experience. This place is great. I've always had fears of going to the dentist. My last visit before this was well over 6 years ago. Teeth hurts, so had to go. I'm glad I found this place. I had to have a teeth pulled, and they made sure that I wouldn't feel pain in the process. The place is well decorated, and high tech. Everything looks nice and clean. Dr. Ryan Le is great. He made sure that I knew exactly what was going on with me and answered all my questions and put all my FUD to rest. I will actually start going to the dentist regularly now. It was affordable too. I really like going to Family Dental works, I have had since Febuary a cleaning, two fillings and now a crown just finished today and I enjoy going to the dentist now. I used to hate going to western dental to get things done because i felt that they did not care and i was just another person sitting in their big room with all the other patients which is somewhat uncomfortable for me. I really enjoy the staff, Dr. Le is an amazing dentist he is very kind and understands that the dental work can be scary and hurts but he makes sure there is little to no discomfort when he has been working on my teeth. I would recommend anyone to go to Family Dental works, all of my visits have been a pleasure. (Also they play DVDs on their tvs while you do your dental work which believe me helps when your trying to not focus on the noise of the drill).
