After nearly 17 years with Dr. Eiswert, I can honestly say he is the best dentist in the High Desert. Over the years, he has always treated me with kindness, professionalism, and genuine care. Recently he truly went above and beyond when I had a dental emergency. He took me in right away, helped me through the situation, and most importantly, was completely honest while helping me make the best decision for my care. That honesty and compassion meant everything to me during such a stressful time. Dr. Eiswert made me feel safe, comfortable, and confident that I was in good hands. His staff is just as amazing every single person there goes above and beyond to make patients feel welcomed and cared for. Okay so here it is.... I was very reluctant to try this Dentist because I already tried 3 different dentist. I was rushed and didn't feel confident with the 3 I tried. My husband encouraged me to try SmileMakers because of the great reviews. Like I said I didn't want to try another Dentist in the High desert BUT, I'm so glad I did!!! Such a great experience and Dr. Joseph was so awesome!!! The Staff was super helpful and friendly!! The way they treat everyone is so impressive and they are so knowledgeable. The comments regarding long wait times are true. I have been frustrated also and expressed that to the team and they seem to be very responsive in trying to get better. Dr. Joe takes his time with his patients and doesn't rush and actually can get a little chatty so that may be a contributing factor but I don't fault him for that he is an excellent dentist and gets to know his patients. I am continuing my relationship with this practice and am pleased to provide a favorable review. read more

This place is amazing. I had a root canal done here today. It was an emergency and even tho i didn't have an appointment they took me on an hours notice. I cracked my molar on Saturday & over the weekend I experienced increasing pain symptoms (FYI- by Tuesday, I was in excruciating pain; even luke warm water over the affected area, was unbearably painful). I called SmileMakers on Monday (as soon as they reopened, from the weekend) and they were able to work me in, the very next day. The dentist and technicians were professional, and their efforts made my pain practically disappear- I say practically disappear, because I did just yesterday have a root canal procedure performed, so of course some mild mouth pain afterwards, should be expected, in the affected region. In particular, I would like to recognize Robert, the dental technician, who couldn't have been more attentive, informative, & personable! read more

I broke my tooth last night and called them in the morning. Even though I was a new patient to them them got me in in 24 hours and treated me awesome. The Doc was very nice and had my tooth rebuilt in minimal time. Highly recommend this clinic....the overall experience was great and I will be back for my routine care! read more

My wife took my daughter for general cleaning after the cleaning they suggested work to be done, so we scheduled a appointment and my daughter was seen.I filled out the insurance part of it letting them know she was double covered by my husband and I insurance ,the dental office Smilemakers in Apple valley was quickly to overlook both insurances and give me a bill for work to be done.After I paid the bill I went home and thought to myself wow how prices went up. So I decided to call back and sure enough they had not put my husbands insurance for the coverage, at this point I was disappointed in the lack of effort smilemakers in Apple valley provides for customers, I get it a paying customer was more important than utilizing the insurance coverage. overall just bad service definitely not be recommending smilemakers Apple valley dental. read more

DO NOT GO HERE... this is probably the worst dentist in the high desert. The staff is unprofessional, and constantly gossiping about clients and other staff. Dr. Joseph wanted my braces off sooner rather than later so that my braces could be gone and FULLY paid for when my teeth still had some flaws that I wasn't happy about. Therefore, my braces were taken off before I had bands which left me with a bit of an overbite. Also, I would arrive at appointments early and somehow it would still take hours to get seen even though I had booked an appointment ahead of time. My family and I no longer go here and I would never recommend them to anyone!! read more

Do you not ever go here. My husband had an appointment for 430 today. Drove from Silver Lakes to Apple Valley for his appointment. Had to call me 15 minutes ago to call an ambulance to pick him up. He is disabled and cannot sit or stand for that long. We made arrangements ahead of time letting them know that my husband was disabled and cannot wait that long and assured us he would get in right away he never did. So my husband is leaving right now he never got any work done because they told me when I called that they take any walk-ins ahead of time. So now my husband is getting no help no dental assistant and has to sit. He had to leave. read more

My family and I had been going to Dr. Eiswert for over a decade. We drove quite the distance to get there considering we are in Victorville and they are in AV. Over the past couple of years, I am not sure what has happened, but the wait times have been crazy. I get to my appointments early. I understand that going to the doctor or dentist that we aren't always going to get in on time, and there is usually a wait. But waiting for almost an hour or longer is unacceptable. Have some respect for your patient's time. We have a life. Yesterday was the last straw for me. I had been in there an hour and a half waiting. I wasn't the only one upset at the wait. However, I didn't complain. Another person did and they took her back right away, and she came in after me! I walked out, and I am never going back. It is too bad because Dr. Eiswert is a pretty good dentist. read more

I made a down payment of $933 for an invisalign treatment. The treatment never started then I found out I was being transferred from my current job in California to an overseas post. Tried to explain to Smilemakers about my transfer. They refused to return my down payment although the invisalign treatment never started. read more

Im very disappointed by the way I was treated. I had a root canal done at this place 6 months ago and always had a discomfort, but the Dr said it was normal. So about a month ago i had a throbbing pain on the side of my jaw and I made an appt, 2 sets of antibiotics were prescribed and Ihad to go back the following 3 weeks for a check up and nothing changed. so I was sent to the specialist and they have to redo the root canal because it was not done properly. I called to let them know if something can be done about it since my insurance wont cover for retreatment, until a year after. The drs wife never returned my call, I was given another set of antibiotics and i just received a letter from the mail stating that they cant see me anymore. I also have a crown that was not done properly and they never did anything about it. Its really upsetting how its just so easy for them to collect the money and say that all the pain and discomfort is normal but they wont face the consequences of their bad work and just wash their hands by sending me somewhere else. read more

I've been referred to this dental office by many people, so I decided to make an appointment. Considering their reputation, I'm sure they do excellent work. However, if you value punctuality and expect a business to properly manage their appointments, you may be disappointed. Without going into too much detail, I'll just say this - I waited in the lobby for well over an hour past my schedule appointment, waited to get an examination for another half hour, got a half-assed rushed examination, waited another half hour, and then was told they were too busy to see me. If they gave me a call in the morning to attempt to reschedule to deal with their workload, I would have been happy to reschedule. However, they successfully wasted two and a half hours of my time and a forty mile trip in a shoddy attempt at salvaging access to my wallet. read more
