This was the first time I was told of any change, and the quote did not even reflect the $25 deposit I had already paid. I calmly asked when they realized the cost would be higher than what I was quoted. No one answered that question. Instead, I was repeatedly told, "This is insurance," in a dismissive, condescending tone. Rather than working toward a solution, they chose to reschedule my appointment. I requested my deposit back and decided not to continue care there. I had driven in from Oklahoma for this appointment, making the situation especially frustrating. As I was leaving, the staff member who originally booked my appointment smiled broadly and said "bye" in a way that felt clearly sarcastic and unprofessional. After her cleaning was done by her hygienist, the hygienist mentioned changing insurance policy and rates. Upon enquiring at checkout, the receptionist mentioned that our insurance Aetna was dropped by the doctor. My wife proceeded to ask her why she was not informed of that before her appointment with the receptionist answer was that Aetna does offer out of network services and and that my wife should be fine.
