Came in for a gel mani today, and they were clearly overbooked and rushing. Nail technician cut my fingers in 4 spots from filing my skin roughly with a nail file while attempting to remove old gel polish, nails were cut short and extremely asymmetrically after asking for them to be kept long. Had to try a few times to get them even but eventually gave up asking for further corrections. When nails were done, technician ran over to a new customer before I could even look at my nails. She had missed parts of my nails that had no polish on them so I had to ask another technician to fix them. Will not be returning - nails turned out okay but I am in pain and nails are still uneven and different lengths! Have had better experiences in the past, but this was enough to turn me off for good. Everyone had masks on but there was zero social distancing and it was packed full of people.

Love Smiley nails. So clean and never disappointed... stays over 3 week without chipping. :)

When you think of nails spa/salon, you think of a relaxing, good vibes, de-stressing environment. Well, I didnt get it here at Smiley Nails II. They should also change their name to "Grumpy Nails" than Smiley because Ive never seen anyone that works here smile aside from Julie! We came here (we are 2 adults, 2 kids) on Sunday (yesterday) not busy we also had an appointment. The vibes here was grumpy, tired vibes! The service I've got here from Ana (the one in the dark red shirt) was terrible!! She gave me this attitude that she was irritated Not Pleased that she was giving me the service! She was also wearing a headset the whole time she was giving me the foot spa pedicure and manicure. So her attention was not 100% and was distracted. During the foot spa pedicure Ana kept telling me in her annoyed tone to "Pull my Foot Up" so that's what I did but then she put my foot harshly pinned down! That confusion happened many times so I ended up asking her "okay..., what do you want me to do"? She didn't answer. However, she continued with her struggles with my feet in where to put that freaking UV Light and how to put my foot under it! Smh! Ana for the Foot Spa just washed my feet quickly, scrubbed in (literally) 2 strokes, dried and done. Cut nails, buffed and pretended that she was getting some cuticles and done. I was surprised my Feet Spa and the Gel pedicure was done in 7 mins! During my manicure session with her, she was talking to one of her colleague ( in their native language) with their annoyed, grumpy facial expressions then all of a sudden Ana asked me what is my name? So with a smile I told her my name because at that time it hasn't sink on me yet that they are being mean to me and they were talking about me. She was also pressing my fingers hard that it hurts and I noticed. I was about to say that it hurt but she went to another finger. After she buffed my finger nails, Ana in her annoyed tone and facial expressions asked me to wash my hands in the sink. "Go, wash your hands in that sink!" While she Pointed at the sink in the curve. Then while washing my hands, I saw all these clear square bowls with pebbles on the side. Julie was getting this square bowl with pebbles to bring to my sis in law so she could comfortably wash her fingers on that bowl while sitting comfortably there and doesn't have to stand up. Julie was nice and treated her well. That's when I realized I've had a mean lazy sneaky b!#@h nail attendant in this salon. I paid and gave them 20% tip because I am being considerate of the people and always gives them benefit of the doubt. In this less than an hour stressful time I've spent here for my Mani and Pedi I felt unwanted, uncomfortable, and attacked. So I couldn't recommend this salon because Spa/Salon any services shouldn't be this way! Ive had way better experience and treatment from other salon than here.

Let me start out by saying this is beautiful salon and the owner is so nice, sadly the workers are the one who earn bad reviews. This is my second time in this location and the last time! I came here twice to get no chip pedicure, the first time I ask to make sure they clean all the dead skin around my toe nails. I have grown in nails so I need someone to do good job. I heard so much negative comments about my grown in nails. It was so uncomfortable to sit and listen to it. My second visit was worse, so I tried prep my feel at home however I need it good job scrubbing and cutting the dead skin as they were hurting. The lady just scrub little bit and that was it, I ask her again- she inform me she will do it at the end. So let me get this straight you will color, put location and once they are done you will try to cut/scrub underneath my feet again! Once my feet were done, she started scrubbing but since my feet were too dry it was so hard to do it, after a while there was no progress. Next, she put lotion and oil to softener and started scrubbing again but now it was too soft to get anything done. I ask her about it- with an attitude and rolling her eye stated her opinion. She was so rude about it, at some point she even push my feet backwards. I do not recommend this place.

Nail tech did a thorough job and was nice and professional. She took her time cleaning my nails and when the no chip color I picked was too see-through she called it out and went in for a third coat then double checked her work when she was done to make sure they looked good. I appreciated that. She did accidentally cut my pinky and was apologetic so no big deal, to be honest I've never gotten my nails done where one finger hasn't accidentally been cut. I walked in on a Sunday afternoon and did not feel rushed at all which was nice. The space is very cute they have good music, offer water, and play tv shows like Friends for viewing. Overall happy with my experience and with how my nails came out. A bit pricy at $70 for a no chip mani & regular pedi but it is close to home and they do a good job so I will be back!

No chip peeling off within 24 hours...

They were very quick, but my gel nail polish peeled off within 24 hours. I got my nails done for my sister's wedding and they were ruined before her wedding the next day. It was a huge waste of money and they didn't even look good for the event I got them done for.

Unfortunately, it ended up being one of the most disappointing spa experiences I've had. I booked a 60-minute deep tissue massage with the scalp oil and Hypervolt add-ons. Neither add-on was performed... my scalp was never touched and no massage gun was used though I was initially charged for both (they were only refunded after I reached out). The massage itself felt rushed and incomplete. Most areas of my body were barely worked on, and I left still in pain. When I got up, I noticed the digital wall clock in the room had been partially covered with a towel.. specifically, only the minutes portion was covered. I later realized the session had ended about 5-10 minutes early. Management later claimed that covering the clock is standard practice for guest comfort, but that explanation does not make sense. The clock was not bright at all, and there was a much brighter light left on in the corner of the room the entire time. If a digital clock is supposedly too bright and distracting, then it would make more sense to use a standard wall clock or not have a visible clock at all. Partially covering only the minutes, the part that tells you exactly how much time is left... felt like a very shady business practice rather than a comfort measure. I was also told afterward that my massage was shortened because I arrived late. However, when I checked in, the front desk assured me they were able to push my appointment back and accommodate me so that I would still receive my full 60 minutes. At no point before or during the massage was I informed that my session would be cut short. Letting a guest believe they are getting their full service and then ending early without any communication feels unprofessional. When I contacted them about all of this, the only thing offered was a complimentary add-on for a future visit. but only if I book and pay for another full-price massage. After already spending over $220 and being this unhappy, I don't find it reasonable to be asked to come back and spend another $200 just to receive a small add-on for free. A partial or full refund for the actual massage would have been far more appropriate. I have since been ignored. Overall, this experience did not match the premium price at all. I left sore, stressed, and disappointed. I would not recommend Spavia Elmhurst based on this visit.

No phone call to tell me they couldn't accommodate. This was really inconvenient for my other 2 kids. Nothing to compensate us. Nothing just yet couldn't accommodate. I scheduled another couples massage with my daughter and again this year there was amishap with our appointment. We literally made the appointment yesterday for 5:30pm today. I missed a call from them at 5:05 but I answered the call at 5:09 and they're trying to reschedule me for 6:30 because I didn't confirm??? What do you mean didn't confirm? You just called 4 minutes ago. I just made the appointment yesterday and our appointment isn't until 5:30 so I hadn't missed it yet. Again no compensation for the inconvenience. As much as I enjoyed the massage last year, I will not be coming back to this establishment. They disregard people's appointments. I'm Asian so I can say this, this is why Asian establishment don't succeed! It needs to be ran like an American business and take into consideration people's time. Don't waste your time here. You will be frustrated!

The spa suites are located on the eighth floor. The facial was pretty standard, slightly mediocre. There were awkward technical issues with the steamer, which took her about five minutes to fix. She did apologize for the issues and ended up getting it working. At the end she had to collect her belongings which is also a little awkward. It would've been great if she could've got the bath started so I didn't have to wait 15 minutes for it to fill up. You have 25 minutes to relax in the room and take a bath or a shower or use the sauna. This would be an excellent experience or well worth it if they allowed more time. The bath took 10 minutes to fill up/figure out and I only had 15 minutes left. 15 minutes is not enough for a bath and to get ready. I would've really enjoyed the amenities if I was allowed more time. I would say 45 minutes would be ideal. I think they should price higher if needed and give people this time. Without time to enjoy the amenities the spa is really just average. I like the brand of soap that they had available and that it is in a private room. Overall, everything just felt very rushed and not relaxing like a spa should be.

I would have given more stars for them however the aspects were great disappointments. I was very disappointed that a floor was not dedicated to the Spa. Instead it was in two guest rooms converted into somewhat cramped rooms. SMH Would have expected more from both the hotel and where it's located. We were told we could grab a bite to eat in the restaurant on the 9th Floor in between services. The restaurant was Closed! Then we were told we could grab a coffee and a quick bite downstairs in the Lobby. Apparently the person we saw at the bar on the way in to our 10:00AM left because when I came downstairs the bar was Closed. So now I must wait 45 minutes for my husband, hungry and thirsty. Would not recommend this Spa to anyone. Definitely didn't start our Wedding Anniversary activities well. Prayerfully it will get better.
